Sport Yacht Saved from Fire at Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy

A not attended 27 meter super sport yacht was saved from fire on the long quay of Santa Margherita Ligure, to the East of Genoa on the morning of Saturday thirteen June.  The fire was attended by the Port Captaincy of Santa Margherita, the Rapallo Vigili del Fuoco fire fighters, and the Communal environment section of Santa Margherita.  The first operation was to move nearby yachts, although the yacht was eventually saved from the blaze.  The fire had an extra attention as the yacht was also located very nearby to the Santa Margherita Ligure harbour fuelling station.  No injuries were reported, with the cause of the fire not being advised.
The yacht in this accident is a Cantieri Navali dell Arno Leopard 27 Open as designed by Paolo Caliari and produced from 1994 to 2011 in 48 units.  The Leopard 27 Open was the Picchiotti family owned Arno largest yacht produced at launch, remaining its flagship till 2004 and the arrival of the Leopard 34 M.

Super Yacht Wrecked by Fire in Sentosa Cove, Singapore

The 34 meter Custom Line yacht Eagle Wings III was wrecked by fire at One15 Marina in Sentosa Cove, Singapore on 08:10 morning time of Sunday seven June.  Singapore Civil Defence Force responded to the blaze in seven minutes first from land and then by deploying a marine vessel as the yacht cut its mooring and started drifting.  The fire was eventually extinguished around five hours later at around 13:40, with the yacht sitting partially sunk in the water.  No injuries and damage to other yachts are reported from the blaze, as nearby yachts were quickly moved during the fire.  The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
The yacht in this accident is a 2005 Custom Line 112 as designed by Zuccon and produced from 2001 to 2007 in fifteen units.  When released the 112 was Custom Line's flagship model, with the model replaced by the 112 Next.

Motor Yacht Saved from Fire in Besiktas, Turkey

A nineteen meter motor yacht went ablaze in Besiktas in the province of Bebek, Turkey at around 19:44 of Sunday 31 May.  The yacht was fast assisted by fire teams from Ortaköy, Beşiktaş, İstinye, Beyoğlu, Üsküdar, Kavacık and İSAK Underwater Search and Rescue who attacked the fire, and towed the yacht to the shore.  No injuries are reported with a video on Instagram showing two persons onboard the yacht at the time of the fire, with the yacht being saved from destruction and or sinking.  The cause of the fire is not reported, but in the video this is shown as coming from the engine room.
The nineteen meter motor yacht in this fire is not of any particular make, but made in Turkey of wood, in one of the local yards.

Yacht Ablaze at Marina D'Arechi in Salerno, Italy

A not attended seventeen meter flybridge yacht went ablaze at Marina d'Arechi in Salerno, Italy at around 21:00 of Friday 24 April.  The marina staff tended to the fire, and were immediately assisted by Vigili del Fuoco fire fighters of Salerno, with the operation to put off the blaze taking the whole night.  Ultimately the blaze was stopped and controlled to this single yacht.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The yacht in this fire is Conam 60 Wide Body as designed by Giuseppe Cimino and produced from 2003 to 2010.  The 60 Wide Body was a replacement to the 54 Chorum, and was not replaced as Conam closed its doors in 2010.

Six Boaters Saved as Princess Yacht is Wrecked by Fire In Ibiza

Six people were rescued as a 25 meter Princess sport yacht went ablaze near Illa Negra outside of the Ibiza Marina in Ibiza just before 20:00 hours of Friday tenth April.  The boaters were assisted by the Maritime Rescue vessel Naos, who rescued the six boaters and then fought the blaze.  Following no success in turning off the blaze the yacht was towed outside towards es Malvins were it was wrecked by the fire.  The two crew of the yacht had minor injures and were treated at the scene, with both of them not needing to go to a hospital.  The cause of the fire is not reported, with some news outlets saying the yacht was on charter duty.
The yacht in this fire is a Princess V85 as designed by Bernard Olesinski and produced from 2008 to 2010 in six units.  Released as new flagship to the V series range, the V85 was replaced by the Princess V85-S.

Sea Ray Yacht Fire Near Hillsboro Boulevard Bridge in Fort Lauderdale

A sixteen meter Sea Ray sport yacht titled Bada Bing II went ablaze south of Hillsboro Boulevard Bridge in Deerfield Beach on the Inter Coastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale, on the afternoon of Saturday fourth April.  Sea Tow Fort Lauderdale, Boca Fire Rescue, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, and Broward Sheriff Office Fire Rescue responded to the blaze which was controlled, and contained.  Three persons who were onboard the yacht were transported to a hospital, but reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.  The fire was reported to have started in the engine room, and thanks to the quick response of the captain and fire teams was controlled.  Following the fire the yacht was towed to the Cove Restaurant boat yard for hauling and inspection.
The yacht in this accident is a 2000 first generation Sea Ray 540 Sundancer as produced from 1998 to 2001.  The 540 Sundancer was a replacement to the 500 Sundancer, and was replaced by the Sea Ray 550 Sundancer.

Yacht Saved From Fire at Aganlar Shipyard in Bodrum, Turkey

A classic 25 meter Astondoa yacht went ablaze as it was dry docked at Aganlar Shipyard, in Icmeler, Bodrum, Turkey on the morning of Friday third April.  The fire was immediately attended by the fire fighting teams, which was controlled in a timely manner, minimizing the damage to the yacht from the blaze only.  No one was injured in the fire with the cause of the blaze not being reported.  An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
The yacht in this fire is a classic Astondoa 250 model as produced in the mid-eighties, the Spanish builder largest yacht in those years.  This Astondoa 250 is reported owned to former Trabzonspor President Sadri Şener.

Seven Yachts Wrecked One Damaged at Yalikavak Marina, Bodrum

Seven motor yachts between sixteen and thirty meters in length were wrecked by fire, while a 26 meter yacht sustained some fire damage at Yalikavak Marina, in Bodrum, Turkey on the night of twentieth March.  The fire started on a motor yacht of twenty meters, reported with an explosion, and then jumped to the yachts on its starboard side because of the winds.  Fire fighters, police, and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene from land; and Coast Guard and Coastal Safety teams fought the fire from the sea.  The fire was controlled on the following morning.  No injuries were reported from the fire, with the seven yachts ending wrecked and sunk, and one yacht receiving fire damage, with the amount of damage reported to be over twenty million EUROS.
Of the yachts wrecked in this fire we can spot an Azimut 77s, Pershing 65 Limited, Prestige 550 Flybridge, with the damage yacht being an Azimut Grande 26 metri.

Riviera Sport Yacht Goes Ablaze Near Pittwater, Australia

A seventeen meter Riviera sport yacht with five persons and a dog onboard was wrecked by fire to the north of West Head, near Patonga, Pittwater Australia at 13:40 of Monday sixteen March.  The five boaters who jumped in the water were rescued first by a fisherman in a small boat who was returning from a fishing trip, and then transferred to an eleven meter vessel with the authorities coming first with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, this followed by NorthSouthWest Rural Fire Service, and NorthSouthWest Police.  The yacht was ultimately wrecked and mostly sunk by the fire, with this extinguished in three hours.   The boaters were not injured even tough they jumped in the water without life jackets, as these were located at the back of the yacht were the fire started.  A notice to mariners for navigational hazard has been issued on the partly sank wreck.
The yacht in this fire is a Riviera 5800 Sport Yacht as produced from 2009 to 2015 in 33 units.  The 5800 was released as new flagship of the Sport Yacht line which debuted with the 3600 Sport Yacht in 2005, with the model replaced by the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht.

Two Persons Saved as Flybridge Yacht Goes Ablaze Near Antibes, France

Two boaters were saved as a twenty meter flybridge motor yacht named The Bridge and under Belgian flag went ablaze between Cap d'Antibes and Lerins at about 1.5 nautical miles offshore to the coast at 09:30 morning time of Wednesday fourth February.  The two boaters of 71 and 65 years old alerted the Mediterranean Regional Operational Surveillance and Rescue Centre and after jumping in the water were assisted by a 24 meter motor yacht who was in the vicinity, with the Alpes-Maritimes, and Service Départemental d'Incendie et de Secours following later to the rescue and to fight the fire with 25 fire-fighters and twelve men respectively.  Ultimately the yacht was wrecked, but was saved from sinking and doing environmental damage, with the wreckage towed to Golfe-Juan for recovery.  The cause of the fire is not known, but was reported starting from the engine room.
The yacht in this fire is a 1994 Astondoa 68 GLX as produced from 1992 to 1996.  The 68 GLX was replaced by the Astondoa 72 GLX.  The yacht which assisted the boaters is a Falcon Yachts 82S as designed by Stefano Righini and produced from 1994 to 1998.

Three Yachts Wrecked in Fire at Van Isle Marina, British Columbia

Three yachts of nineteen to 21 meters in length were wrecked by fire at Van Isle Marina, Sidney, British Columbia, Canada with the blaze starting at 07:30 morning time of Sunday first February.  Sidney Fire Department responded to the blaze and were later assisted by North Saanich Fire Department, and the Canadian Coast Guard.  The fire took ninety minutes to be controlled, and started in the Marquis yacht, located in the center of the above photo, and then jumped to the yachts to its port and starboard sides.  No one was injured in the fire, as all yachts were not attended, with the cause of the blaze being under investigation.
This is the second fire at Van Isle Marina in just over four months, with a fire wrecking an eleven meter explorer cruiser the past eighteen September.
The yachts in this fire are a Marquis 720, the one in the center, a Horizon V68, and a Nordhavn 62 looking bow to the photo.  A Nordhavn 60 also suffered some fire damage to its starboard side.

Flybridge Yacht Wrecked by Fire in Club Arenal Mallorca

A not attended 23 meter flybridge yacht went ablaze in Club Nautico del Arenal in Llucmajor, Mallorca with the fire reported just before 02:00 early morning hours of Thursday 22 January.  Guardia Civil and multiple fire crews from Bombers de Mallorca tended to the fire taking three hours to control, with big efforts going and succeeding to keeping the fire to this one yacht.  Ultimately the yacht was wrecked by the blaze, with an investigation on the cause of the fire being opened.
The yacht in this fire is an Antago 76 as designed by Fulvio de Simoni and produced from 1999 to the early noughties.  Antago from Viareggio, Italy was founded in 1991 by Sebastian Gravagno and will close its doors in 2006, with the company returning in 2025 as a US holding.

Two Saved as Flybridge Yacht is Fire Wrecked in Yucatan

Two men, a captain and one crew were saved as an eighteen meter motor yacht titled Twist Party II went ablaze about one nautical mile offshore near Poseidon Statue, in Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico on the afternoon of Saturday seventeen January. The two men jumped in the water as the fire spread, holding on an inflatable mat as the Secretariat of the Navy Semar, Fire Department of the Secretariat of Public Security, and support vessels came to the assistance and to fight the fire.  Ultimately the yacht burned for fifty minutes, and was declared a total wreck.  The yacht which is used for charter departed Puerto de Abrigo de Progreso, was apparently at anchor with generator running when this exploded and went ablaze.

Three Yachts Wrecked by Fire at Spit Bridge Marina, Sydney

Three yachts from twenty to 28 meters in length were wrecked by fire, with a fourth yacht also sustaining important damage at Spit Bridge Marina, Mosman, a suburb located to the North of Sydney with the blaze starting on the first yacht before 03:30 morning time of Friday ninth January.   Fire and Rescue NSW responded to the blaze with forty fire fighters, fighting the fire from both land and sea including the fire fighting vessel Girawaa, and taking near three hours to control, and were followed by NSW Police and NW Ambulance.  Four people escaped the fire unharmed, while a woman was treated for smoke inhalation and is under observation.  By the videos running online the fire started in a smaller yacht about twenty meters in length, which then jumped to two Sunseeker yachts located to its port and starboard sides.  All the three yachts ended sunk and wrecked, with the fire also damaging a Princess yacht to its port side, this berthed one boat away and to starboard from the starting fire yacht.  The cause of the fire is not reported, with an investigation being opened to determine the cause.  Pollution from the fire is reported controlled and to a minimum, with salvage efforts taken over by the marina operator.  
The yachts wrecked by this fire are a Sunseeker 80 Yacht, and a Sunseeker 94 Yacht.  The yacht which sustained damage to its port side is a Princess 85 MY.  The smaller yacht which started the fire is not identified, if some one has information leave a comment or send a message.

Azimut Yacht Goes Ablaze at Miami Beach Marina

A 25 meter Azimut yacht went ablaze at 300 Alton road, Miami Beach Marina, Florida at 08:10 morning time of Saturday 27 December.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the blaze first with six units, and were later assisted by Miami Beach Fire and City of Miami Beach Fire fighting the blaze from both land and sea, with the fire reported to have started in a sealed compartment of the yacht which was difficult to access.  The fire spread throughout the yacht, as fire fighters fought the blaze with hose lines, dewatering efforts and fuel containment.  Ultimately the fire was controlled with the yacht ending partly sank to stern.  The cause of the fire is not reported, with no injuries being reported, as an investigation has been opened on the incident.
The Azimut in this fire is a Grande 25 Metri as designed by Stefano Righini and produced from 2018 to 2021 in twenty units.  A replacement to the 80, the Grande 25 Metri is the smallest Azimut Grande produced thus far since the line debuted in 2011.  The 25 Metri was replaced by the more comfort focused Azimut Grande 26M.

Canados Yacht Goes Ablaze in Chiavari Marina near Genoa

A 22 meter Canados flybridge yacht titled Gollum went ablaze as it was moored at the yacht marina in Chiavari, on the East side of the Ligurian coast just after 07:00 morning time of Thursday eleven December.  Chiavari Vigili del Fuoco fire fighters tended to the fire, attacking it with liquid foam, for an operation which was successful as the fire was extinguished after two hours and the yacht saved from going ablaze.  The fire was reported to have originated in the aft lazarette part of the engine room of the yacht.  No injuries were reported.
The yacht in this fire is a 2006 Canados 72 as designed by Marine Technology Services and produced from 2005 up to 2009.  The 72 was a replacement to the 23, with the model replaced by the Canados 76.

Yacht Fire at Westshore Yacht Club in South Tampa, Florida

A not attended twenty meter flybridge yacht had an onboard fire while berthed at the Westshore Yacht Club Marina in South Tampa, Florida before 10:00 morning time of Wednesday ten December.  Tampa Fire Rescue tended to the blaze with a fire boat, and were also assisted by the US Coast Guard.  The cause of the fire seem to come from the stern of the yacht, with the efforts to stop the blaze listing it astern.  The yacht was saved from major damage as the fire was controlled in the engine room, and did not spread to other nearby vessels.  No injuries were reported also because the yacht had no one onboard, with the cause of the fire being under investigation.
The yacht in this fire is a Uniesse 65 MY as designed by Fred Hudson and produced from 2007 to 2014.  The 65 MY was released as a filler model between the Uniesse 58 MY and 70 MY.

Fire at Greek Zea Marina Wrecks Three Yachts

A fire at Zea Marina in Piraeus, to the South West of Athens which originated from the tourist sailing gullet Mirasol has wrecked three yachts from 23 to 43 meters, including of which is the Mangusta super yacht Sanctuary.  The blaze started just after 03:00 early morning time of Thursday thirteen November.  Hellenic Fire Service tended to the blaze with twenty fire fighters from both land water and were assisted by watercraft from the Coast Guard, fighting the fire for more than five hours, to no success as all three yachts ended wrecked.  Strong winds pushing the fire from the starboard to port side of the gullet did not help the situation, as these jumped first on the 23 meter Azimut sport yacht Alkyone, then on a 26 meters Azimut flybridge yacht, and then on the 43 meter Sanctuary.  No injuries were reported as the coast guard cordoned the area, and then surrounded the wrecks with a pollution protection mesh. 
The three yachts in this fire are m/y Alkyone a 2017 Azimut 77S designed by Stefano Righini, and produced from 2014 to 2020 in seventeen units.  The second yacht involved was an Azimut 85 as designed by Stefano Righini and produced from 2005 to 2009 in nineteen units.  Last yacht wrecked and the largest of the blaze was m/y Sanctuary a 2019 Overmarine Mangusta Oceano 43, designed by Alberto Mancini and produced from 2019 to 2021 in four units. 
This is the second fire at the same marina in just over a year, with that blaze coming on the night of first August 2024.  That past fire had a similar script as a tourist vessel also started the blaze which then burned the custom Picchiotti 42 meter m/y Libra, and the Cantieri di Pisa built Golden Yachts completed 32 meter O'rianna.  A link to the post of that accident is in the comments below.

Super Sport Yacht Fire Destroyed Offshore to Savona, Italy

Three men were saved as the 26 meter super sport yacht Principessa Matera had an onboard fire as it was cruising about five nautical miles offshore between Bergeggi and Capo Noli, Savona in Western Liguria Italy at around 14:15 of Thursday six November.  Two Vigili del Fuoco fire fighting boats departing from Savona and Genova and a Drago 162 Helicopter went out to fight the blaze, as the yacht crew saved itself with the yacht's tender.  The fire was controlled and stopped, although the yacht was wrecked and nearly fully burned but was saved from sinking and spreading pollution from its fuel tanks and engine oil.  
The yacht wreck was ultimately towed at 00:40 to the Port of Vado by a Transmare tug boat, with an anti-pollution Transmare vessel and two Port Captaincy boats following the operation.  The cause of the fire is now under investigation, as the yacht wreck was seized by the Savona public attorney.
M/y Principessa Matera is an Arno Leopard 27 Open as designed by Paolo Caliari and produced from 1994 to 2011 in 48 units.  Founded in 1935 by Raffaello, Alessandro, Lorenzo and Nello Picchiotti, they enter yacht production outside the Picchiotti family name with the Arno Leopard 15mt as designed by Paolo Caliari in 1973.  Arno Leopard operated till 2013, building yachts up to 46 meters in length.

57 Meter Super Yacht Fire Scare in Washington DC, USA

The 57 meter super yacht Dancing Hare under Marshall Islands flag had an onboard fire as it was berthed at Washington Harbour Marina of 600 block of Water Street SW, Washington DC, around 14:00 of Tuesday fourteen October.  Firefighters from the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the blaze which was reported to be of minimal entity and was controlled and extinguished.  For fighting the fire, the fire fighters turned off its power and evacuated the yacht.  No one was injured in the fire with the cause of the blaze not reported, with pictures showing it to be coming out from the raised pilot-house deck.   
M/y Dancing Hare is a 1986 steel build custom Amels 57.7 meter as designed by Banenberg and Rowell for exterior with naval architecture by Diana.  Dancing Hare had some high profile owners in its story from its commissioner Emad Khashoggi, who sold it in the first year to British Media magnate and politician Robert Maxwell, who died while on the yacht in 1991.  Current owner is Anna Murdoch Mann dePeyster, x-wife to Rupert Murdoch and mother to three of his adult children.  Dancing Hare was last refitted in 2023 by Derektor in Florida.
