Flybridge Yacht Partly Sinks in Lake Garda

A not attended fifteen meter flybridge yacht partly sank in Sirmione on Lake Garda on the morning Sunday 21 September.  The yacht was then later reported to have hit a reef during navigation the previous evening in rough water condition and handicapped with one engine, with the captain managing to bring it to its berth.  Following the part sinking the flybridge yacht was surrounded by a pollution protection boon, with a floating operation being organized on the coming days.
The yacht in this accident is a Galeon 510 Skydeck as designed by Tony Castro and produced since 2016.  The 510 HTC was based on the revolutionary 500 Fly platform, the first Galeon with drop down bulk heads, and a flybridge replaced by a part opening sunroof and smaller sport bridge up top.

Fairline Yacht Ends Aground in Yalikavak, Bodrum Turkey

A 23 meter Fairline yacht titled Alan under British flag ended aground during a sudden storm in Yalikavak, Bodrum, Turkey at around noon of Wednesday 22 October.  The Fairline yacht was anchored in the middle of the bay when a sudden thunder storm with heavy rain and strong winds drifted it into low water and aground.  The yacht captain and crew tried to avoid the grounding but to no avail, as the wind had at that stage taken control of the yacht.  With the sudden storm stopping some one hour later a rescue operation with a diver and towing boat was already underway.  No one was reported injured in the grounding, with the damage to the yacht not being reported.
The Fairline in this grounding is a Squadron 78 Custom, as designed by Bernard Olesinski and produced from 2008 till 2018 in 86 units.  The largest Fairline ever made, the Squadron 78 Custom was a replacement and evolution of the Squadron 74.

Mangusta Super Yacht Sinks in Marina at Gumbet, Bodrum

The 32 meter Mangusta super sport yacht Mina II sank in a marina at Mu Dünla in the province of Gumbet, Bodrum, Turkey on the night of Saturday eighteen October.  The yacht was moored in a berth at the marina, were for an unknown reason it sank stern first.  Coast guard and municipal teams were dispatched to the marina after port personnel alerted them of the yacht sinking.  No crew was onboard and reports say the yacht has not moved from this berth for the last two years.  Environmental inspectors are investigating the area for any fuel leaks, with the yacht protected by pollution protecting boons.   A recovery for the yacht is being organized.
M/y Mina II is a 1998 Overmarine Mangusta 107 first series as designed by Stefano Righini and produced from 1998 to 2002 in four units.  Mina II was the first hull of the Mangusta 107 and was refitted in 2017, with interiors by Gianni Versace and exteriors remade with new glazing and hard-top like the second series 107 as build from 2003 to 2005 in three other units.

57 Meter Super Yacht Fire Scare in Washington DC, USA

The 57 meter super yacht Dancing Hare under Marshall Islands flag had an onboard fire as it was berthed at Washington Harbour Marina of 600 block of Water Street SW, Washington DC, around 14:00 of Tuesday fourteen October.  Firefighters from the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the blaze which was reported to be of minimal entity and was controlled and extinguished.  For fighting the fire, the fire fighters turned off its power and evacuated the yacht.  No one was injured in the fire with the cause of the blaze not reported, with pictures showing it to be coming out from the raised pilot-house deck.   
M/y Dancing Hare is a 1986 steel build custom Amels 57.7 meter as designed by Banenberg and Rowell for exterior with naval architecture by Diana.  Dancing Hare had some high profile owners in its story from its commissioner Emad Khashoggi, who sold it in the first year to British Media magnate and politician Robert Maxwell, who died while on the yacht in 1991.  Current owner is Anna Murdoch Mann dePeyster, x-wife to Rupert Murdoch and mother to three of his adult children.  Dancing Hare was last refitted in 2023 by Derektor in Florida.

Fifty Meter Classic Super Yacht Fire Damaged Near Agropoli, Italy

The classic fifty meter super yacht Espadarte under Valletta Malta flag was saved from a fire as it was cruising about seventeen nautical miles offshore to the coast of Agropoli, in the Cilentan Coast of the Tyrrhenian sea to the South of Naples, on the late morning of Thursday ninth October.  The Maltese flagged super yacht which also had sixteen persons onboard between crew and guests was assisted by two Guard Costiera vessels departing from Agropoli and Marina di Camerrota respectively, both of them carrying Vigili dell Fuoco fire fighting squads. The crew with assistance from a nearby boater also tried to control the fire before the Italian Guardia Costiera Coast Guard arrived, but had no success.  When the Guardia Costiera arrived the first operation was putting the sixteen persons to safety, and then to control the fire, which they did with success.  Following this the classic super yacht, which was handicapped and without power was towed to the harbour of Salerno, arriving there at 02:00 early hours of the following day.  For the towing operation to the harbour, the Port Captaincy of Salerno ordered that the Vigili del Fuoco squad remain onboard, due to the high risk of the fire re-igniting.  The blaze was reported as starting and confined to the engine room, as the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Motor Yacht Espadarte is a custom 50 meters as build by Portugal's Arsenal do Alfeite yard in 1968, to military specifications and exterior design by Jorge d’Almeida Araujo.  Espadarte has had some high profile owners over the years, from its first commissioner which was reported but never confirmed to be the then Prime Minister of the Estado Novo regime of Portugal.  After the fall of Portugal's New Order in 1974 the yacht was sold to Saudi-based Sheikh Mouffak al-Midani, who will in the nineties sell to Greek TV station and shipowner John Karageorgis.  Espadarte was last refitted by Lusben in 2018.

Fairline Yacht Ends Aground in Bitez Aktur, Turkey

A twenty meter Fairline yacht ended aground and beached in Bitez Aktur, Bodrum district, Turkey on the early morning hours of Friday third October.  The yacht ended aground while at anchor and drifted to shore, as all those onboard including the skipper were asleep.  The Fairline yacht was reported to have sustained little to no damages from the grounding, also because it ended bow first in soft sand. Following checks the yacht was then later in the morning towed back to deep water.  No injuries were reported from the incident.
The yacht in this accident is a Fairline Squadron 68 Mk.3 as designed by Alberto Mancini and produced since 2022.  The Squadron 68 Mk.3 was a replacement to  the Fairline Squadron 68 Mk.2.

Azimut Sport Yacht Sinks in Aventura Florida

A not attended twenty meter Azimut sport yacht titled 3K partly sank in a marina at Aventura, Florida, North-East Miami Dade on the morning of Friday 26 September.  The story was reported on the Fast Response Marine Towing and Salvage Facebook page, who also floated the Azimut back up on the same day.  The yacht caused oil pollution as it sank, probably coming out from the engines, and was surrounded by a pollution protection boon.  The cause of the sinking was reported to water coming in from the swimming ladder stowage area in the bathing platform.  
The Azimut yacht in this sinking is the 68S as designed by Stefano Righini for exterior and interiors by Carlo Galeazzi, produced from 2003 up to 2009 in over one hundred units.  When debuting in a private event in mid 2003 the 68S marked Azimut entry in offering a sport yacht. The 68S was replaced by the Azimut 72S.

Benetti Super Yacht Ends Aground in Patroklos, Aegean Greece

The recently delivered 37 meter Benetti super yacht Angel ended aground to the North of Patroklos island, in the Aegean sea Saronic Gulf of Greece, on the early hours of Wednesday 24 September.  A Greek Patrol boat came to the scene following the accident, and after inspection found a crack in the hull, although no water is coming through the area at this stage.  The Benetti yacht had four crew onboard during the collision; three Bulgarians and one Ukrainian who are reported to have no injuries.  No pollution happened from the collision with the ownership of the yacht advised that it is not allowed to move to yacht until a survey conducts an inspection and deems it seaworthy.  The Benetti super yacht damage in its bottom bow section received a temporary repair, and was then taken to a boat yard in Lavrio on Sunday 28 September.
M/y Angel is a July 2025 delivered Benetti Motopanfilo 37m, as designed by Francesco Struglia and produced since 2021 to date in ten units.  The Motopanfilo 37m was a replacement to the Benetti Mediterraneo 116.

Storm Grounds Pershing Yacht and Rinker Cruiser in North Bodrum

A storm which hit the Northern part of the Bodrum peninsula in Turkey, on the early morning of Friday nineteen September has grounded two vessels of eighteen and nine meters respectively.  The large of the two vessels, an eighteen meter Pershing sport yacht titled Civanim ended aground in Türkbükü Hebil, and was also taking on water.  The smaller nine meter sport cruiser ended beached in Golkoy Bay.  Rescue operation for the two vessels was being organized, although the strong winds were reported to continue during the day, with the Turkish State Meteorological Service issuing a storm warning.
The Pershing in this grounding is a 62 as designed by Fulvio de Simoni and produced from 2004 to 2008.  The 62 was a replacement to the 65 Limited, and was replaced by the Pershing 64.
The nine meter sport cruiser which ended beached in Golkoy Bay was a Rinker 312 Fiesta Vee as produced from 2003 to 2004 and rebadged as 320 Express till 2009.

Azimut Yacht Partly Sank and Aground in Symi Island Greece

A fifteen meter Azimut sport yacht under British flag and with two Turkish persons onboard, ended aground and partly sank in Symi Island, in Greece and to the South Aegean sea on Tuesday sixteen September.  The cause of the part sinking is not reported with the story shared on the Boating in Greece Facebook Group, via a reel from Leuteris_frazadakis.  The persons are still seen onboard the sport yacht at the time the reel is taken.
The sport yacht in this part sinking is an Azimut Atlantis 51 as designed by Filippo Salvetti and produced since 2018.  The Atlantis 51 was a replacement to the Azimut Atlantis 50.

Azimut Yacht Ends Aground in Yalikavak, Turkey

A nineteen meter Azimut flybridge yacht titled Queen under St. Kitts and Nevis Island flag with two persons onboard, ended aground off the coast of Yalikavak, Bodrum Turkey on the afternoon of Thursday eleventh September. According to reports the yacht suffered an engine failure and due to the sea state and current ended aground, along with its large about nine meters long chase rib. Following the report, teams from the Bodrum Coast Guard and Bodrum Regional Port Authority responded to the accident, with a salvage operation started immediately afterwards. The two people on board were reported uninjured.
The Azimut in this collision is a 62 as designed by Stefano Righini and produced from 2002 till 2006.  The Azimut 62 evolved into the 62 Evolution in 2007 with some subtle changes like glazed hull windows and then produced till 2009.

Night Storm in Tivat, Montenegro Damages Super Yacht New Dream

A strong storm which hit Tivat and Porto Montenegro just before midnight of Saturday thirty August damaged the 74 meter super yacht New Dream.  The story was shared on Instagram crew.mess channel with a reel showing the crew of the super yacht organizing the yacht during the storm, and then the damage to the port side which affected the yacht the following morning, as the above screen shot shows.  According to reply comments on the Instagram channel, only this yacht got damaged during this Porto Montenegro storm, with winds reported to have gusted up to forty knots.
M/y New Dream is a 2017 Amels, second hull of the Limited Edition 242 semi custom series as designed by Tim Heywood for exterior and Winch for the interior, and produced from 2016 to 2024.  The Limited Edition 242 was replaced by the Amels 80 Limited Edition which has launched its first unit this year.

Classic Style Yacht Ends Aground Near Delaware Bay

A seventeen meter classic style yacht ended aground near the Elbow of Cross Ledge abandoned light house in the Delaware Bay, on the evening of Tuesday 26 August.  The yacht was reported to be in a delivery trip when its captain is reported to have lost attention and collided into shallow waters.  The yacht was assisted by Sea Tow Cape May, who started to work in removing it from the reef.  This operation was started the following day by emptying the 1700 litres of diesel fuel, and then by removing the yacht on Thursday, with this being done with help from Northstar Marine, who brought a barge with a 275 ton crane, and lifted the yacht from its precarious position.
The yacht in this grounding is a first version Vicem 58 Classic Flybridge as produced from 2010 to 2017.  The Vicem 58 Classic Flybridge was a replacement to the 55 Classic Flybridge, with the model evolving into a second version in 2018.

Pershing Yacht Saved from Fire in Yalikavak Bay, Bodrum Turkey

 
A 26 meter Pershing super sport yacht titled m/y Boboo was saved from fire at Yalikavak Bay, Bodrum, Turkey on Friday fifteen August.  Yalikavak Marina staff tended to the fire first, and where then assisted by the Bodrum Coast Guard, who thanks to the swift response successfully controlled the fire and saved the yacht.  The fire was reported to have started in the electrical installation part of the yacht.
The Pershing yacht in this fire is an 88 model as designed by Fulvio de Simoni and produced from 2000 till 2004 in seventeen units.  The 88 was Pershing's flagship at launch, and was replaced by the 90.

Riva Yacht Partly Sinks in Marsascala Malta

A seventeen meter Riva flybridge yacht partly sank at St. Thomas Bay, Marsascala, to the South East of the island of Malta on the morning of fourteen August.  According to unconfirmed news the skipper beached the Riva yacht to save it from total sinking.  The cause of the water coming into the yacht was not reported, if of technical nature or the Riva hit something.  No injuries are reported from sinking, with a plan to float the yacht and to take it for repairs being set in motion on the same day.
The Riva yacht in this sinking is a Furama 58 as designed by Giorgio Barilani and produced from 1988 to 1995 in fifteen units.  The Furama 58 was a replacement to the Riva Corsaro 60 and was replaced by the Thalassa 52.

Azimut Yacht Collides Into Submersed Object in Balearic Sea, Spain

A 25 meter Azimut super yacht collided into a semi-submersed object in the Balearic sea, Spain on the evening of Saturday ninth August.  Salvamento Maritimo assisted the super yacht first by towing it, and then by removing the semi-submersed object, which was discovered to be a wooden cable box which stuck to the fin stabilizers located at midships of the hull bottom of the yacht.  After removing the object Salvamento Maritimo towed the yacht to a nearby marina for damage inspection.  The damage from the collision was not advised on the Salvamento Maritimo Facebook page which reported the incident.
The yacht in this accident is an Azimut Magellano 25 Metri as designed by Ken Freivokh and produced since 2020 so far in 26 units.  The Magellano 25 Metri was a replacement to the Azimut Magellano 76.

Sunseeker Yacht Collides Into Sail Yacht in Villefranche

A 22 meter Sunseeker sport yacht under British flag has collided into the twenty meter sailing yacht Nababbo in the bay of Villefranche sur Mer, at about 21:45 hours of Tuesday fifth August.  This news is reported on the social media Facebook and Instagram pages of Nabbabbo Yacht Charter, by Giulia the hostess and chef of the charter operation, which operates seven yachts from nine to 28 meters.  Giulia says that the Sunseeker yacht entered the five knots speed limited bay of Villefranche at planning speeds, without navigation lights and then collided into the port side of Nababbo, piercing its upper part of the hull but also hitting and damaging its mast, as the above picture shows.  According to Giulia it is a miracle that no one got hurt, as the Sunseeker yacht also had people on the foredeck.  The Sunseeker yacht sustained to what looks mostly cosmetic damage, and departed Villefranche later on Thursday seventh.
The Sunseeker yacht in this collision is a Predator 74 as produced from 2018 to 2022.  The Predator 74 was a replacement to the Predator 80, with the model replaced by the soft evolving Predator 75.
S/y Nababbo is 1992 build Vallicelli 65 as designed by Andrea Vallicelli.  Nababbo has won important offshore sailing regattas; Roma per due in 1991, Colombiadi in 1992, and the Antigua Sailing Week in 1998.

Thunder Storm Grounds Sea Ray Yacht in Jewfish Key, Florida

A Sea Ray sport yacht of sixteen meters in length with five persons onboard ended atop a sand bar in Jewfish Key Island in Longboat Key, Florida at about 15:00 hours of Sunday third August. The yacht was reported to have dragged anchor, during a sudden thunder storm which hit the area. TowBoatU.S Florida Gulf Coast Captain Ken assisted the yacht and towed it to deep waters. Following the removal the yacht was able to move with it's own power. No injuries and probably also no damage was reported, as the yacht ended on a soft sand bar. This story was reported on Captain's Ken, Florida Gulf Coast Marine Services YouTube page.
The Sea Ray in this accident is a 55 Sundancer as produced from 2008 to 2009.  The 55 Sundancer was a replacement to the 52 Sundancer, with the model replaced by the 580 Sundancer.

Sudden Storm Beaches a Dozen Yachts in Komiza, Island of Vis, Croatia

Over a dozen yachts were in difficulty and some ended beached as a sudden storm which peaked fifty knots of wind and dropped air temperature from thirty to 21 degrees, hit the Komiza bay, to the West of the Dalmatian Island of Vis, Split, Croatia on Sunday third August at around 19:00 hours.  All the yachts grounded seemed to be sail yachts and catamarans from ten to fifteen meters, with the exception of the above Aquila sixteen meter power catamaran which seemed to have ended in a difficult situation, as two sail yachts ended on his bow.  Two videos on social media, one from a super yacht anchored outside the bay on what looked a safer spot, and the other from the Aquila power catamaran showed the dramatical situation as it unfolded.  One sailing yacht was reported sank from the storm, but no reports of grievous injuries were reported.
The Aquila in this situation is a 54 model as designed by the Jacep and Jernei Jakopin brothers and produced since 2021.  The 54 has been a huge success for Aquila, with one hundred units being build thus far.

Rizzardi Yacht Ends Beached at Gigaro Beach Near St. Tropez

A sixteen meter Rizzardi sport yacht ended beached at Gigaro Beach, in Le Croix Valmer, to the South of St. Tropez on the afternoon of Saturday second August.  The video story was shared by Instagram user Maxence.Irt and via the Facebook page This Is StTropez.  According to unconfirmed reports the Rizzardi yacht ended beached after it dragged its anchor due to strong winds, after it anchored offshore the beach to drop some guests.  In the video though the anchor is stowed in its place, as two men are seen in the cockpit of the yacht.  The extent of the damage to the Rizzardi yacht from the beaching is not reported. 
The yacht in this beaching is a Rizzardi 50 Top Line as produced from 2000 to 2010 in sixty plus units.  The 50 Top Line is to date Rizzardi's most produced yacht and was a replacement to the CR50 Day, and then replaced by the 50 Incredible.
