New Model: Sanlorenzo SD132

In a private ceremony held in Monaco on the first week of April Sanlorenzo presented its new SD132. Coming from a design of Zuccon, the SD132 is the largest ever to come from Sanlorenzo SD line, replacing the SD126 as the flaghsip, but is also the Italian builder largest fiberglass build to date.  Debuting in 2007 with the Paszkowski designed SD92, the SD line was the first initiative of Massimo Perotti new ownership to branch Sanlorenzo in other areas of motor yachting, beyond the offer of modern conservative looking planning motor yachts the respected Viareggio builder was known for at the time.  The SD line proved a winner for Sanlorenzo which as at today has delivered over a hundred hulls, in a total of seven models from 27 to forty meters in size.  This first SD132 was titled m/y Andiamo, which translates in English to Lets Go and also featured interiors designed by the same Zuccon.  While featuring the same classic inspired design the SD132 is full of modern amenities like an expandable beach area with drop down bulk heads which is also connected to the aft deck, and features a bar area with TV, but also a side tender garage, and a second garage on the bow deck.  The Sanlorenzo SD132 unlike other SD models is also asymmetric with it being wide body to starboard of the main deck.  The Sanlorenzo SD132 is powered by twin Man 1650hp or Cat 1622hp for speeds up to seventeen knots, a cruise of thirteen, and maximum range up to 3200 nautical miles.  The Sanlorenzo SD132 has already gone off to a flying start with five other hulls already signed before this first unit was completed.

Project: Tankoa S520

Tankoa looks forward to its success, and follows the popularity of the fifty metre S501 semi custom platform, with the project of the S520 which was revealed during the 2025 Palm Beach boat show.  Coming again from the drawing board of Francesco Paszkowski, the new Tankoa S520 lengthens the S501 platform from fifty to 52 metres whilst maintaining the same winning proportions found on the previous model.  The S520 is a refreshed and two meter larger S501, in both exterior design and layout choices, with three key differences; expanded stern area, floor to ceiling windows, and more exterior spaces.  A key distinction between the S520 and the S501 can be found in the significant enhancement of the outdoor spaces on offer. This includes a longer and wider sun deck, which now comes complete with an infinity pool, an enlarged upper deck sky-lounge and an extended flybridge.  Paszkowski has reimagined the stern of the S520 so that it joins the main deck, aft platform and beach club seamlessly, thus creating the ultimate beach club concept.  This light-filled space has flexible spaces which can be arranged for a plethora of different purposes, split across two levels and opens up onto two side platforms, resulting in unparalleled contact with the ocean.  Benefitting from three light sources, a porthole facing the pool and two side portholes along the hull this space also features two sunbathing areas protected by glass which are integrated into the hull and enable usability even while cruising.  The cleverly incorporated ‘functional elements’ found in the S520 are numerous, but of note is the crane for the tender at the bow, which has been integrated into the overall design, rather than appearing as a separate technical component. Furthermore, the gangway is seamlessly built into the aft platform, majorly boosting the liveability of this space.  Relocating the staircases to the port side which serves to expand the upper deck aft and establish a fully-dedicated entertainment area the upper deck forward is purely dedicated to toy storage: ideal for the current and future generation of adventurous owners.  For the interior the standard offer is the established collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini, the two designers have collaborated on a number of Tankoa projects over the years from the recently launched T580, the first S501, the S501 Evo, and S701.  Although being a semi custom platform, an owner can still bring his interior designer of choice.  The S520 interior is all about high ceilings and large windows than her predecessor, the architectural choices made by Paszkowski feature overlapping panels and partitions which create intentional fragmentation within the spaces for a distinctively modern effect. On the main deck, the living and dining areas are separated by panels whilst still remaining highly unified spaces. The elements found in the generous owner’s stateroom; a bedroom, lounge, study, walk-in wardrobe and vanity area, function as independent yet connected spaces. The rounded shapes and materials found here effortlessly link areas between floors and ceilings.  Indeed, throughout the S520 the carefully chosen materials cleverly join the different areas, with the subtle grey-toned colour palette extending into the furnishings and reinforcing the strong visual link between interior and exterior spaces.  The Tankoa S502 is to be powered by twin Man 1430hp engines for a top speed up to sixteen knots, a cruise of fifteen, and a long range up to 3750 nautical miles at twelve knots.

Project: Mulder Favorite 2000

Mulder present the project for a Favorite 2000, as a returned customer who sold his Favorite 1700 wanted something larger. This customer chose to build the newest addition to the Favorite Series, the Mulder Favorite 2000. At a length of twenty meters, the Favorite 2000 bridges the gap between the 1700 and 2200, offering spaciousness, comfort, and versatility while maintaining the iconic Mulder lines. Construction is already underway the first Favorite 2000 which is set to sail for the 2025 boating season. Details for the Favorite 2000 are limited to this rendering, to what should be again a Guido de Groot design, as this model looks similar to the larger and smaller Favorites.

Project: Sunseeker 135 Yacht

Sunseeker has during the 2025 Dusseldorf boat show presented project details for an upcoming 135 Yacht model.  The 135 Yacht is a replacement to the 131 Yacht, which was in itself a further evolution of the 40M Yacht, with these two models selling nineteen and thirteen hulls respectively for a production which started in 2010 and lasted till 2022.  This is not the first time Sunseeker present a replacement to the successful 131 Yacht, as in 2019 they announced the 133 Yacht project, a vertical bow volume focused super yacht with round bilge semi displacement hull which was to arrive two years later, and ultimately never materialized, although that project evolved eventually into the still in project Ocean 460.  The first 135 Yacht is scheduled for a delivery in 2027, although it is not advised if Sunseeker has an order, or is building one on speculation.  Sunseeker so far advised that the new forty meter super yacht has the hard chine planning hull form of the previous 131 model extended in length.  This extension will give a beach club area, with retractable bulwarks which become balconies and expand the size of the aft deck.  Another announced novelty in the Sunseeker 135 Yacht will be a sky-lounge in the upper deck.  Interior design for the 135 Yacht will come from long time Sunseeker collaborator Design Unlimited, which presented a five cabins layout, with a main deck master stateroom which will feature an office space and a bath tub en-suite bathroom.  Performance details have not been provided but for guidance the 131 Yacht used to be powered by twin MTU 3181hp engines which give a top speed up to 25 knots and a fast cruise of fourteen knots.

New Model: Viking 82SB

Since presenting the Sky Bridge option some ten years ago, Viking has always kept it part of the Enclosed Bridge family.  Meaning that a Viking with sky bridge was an Enclosed Bridge model with that option being ticked. Things have changed in 2024, as Viking is rightly now making the Sky Bridge as a different variant of that model. The Viking 82 Skybridge is the first of the new models, although on its website the SD model has appeared also on the 90, and now stopped in production 72 and 80 models.  The Viking 82SB, is an interesting model variant and deserves its own designation.  See it that if you like the salon-like features of an enclosed bridge but also want to run the boat from an open bridge occasionally, the 82 Sky Bridge model is for you, providing the best of both worlds. The elevated bridge’s port-side console has a fully equipped helm with a recessed black acrylic panel for flush-mounted MFDs. Guests can enjoy the view from a forward L-shaped lounge, with easy access to a forward refrigerated drink box and a sink.  This Sky Bridge also makes fish and tuna searching much safer and easier.

Project: XL Marine 55 WA

Following the debut of the second generation XL Marine 45 in 2024, the Italian semi-custom classic looking sport yacht specialist looks forward and present the project for a new 55 WA.  The 55 WA is to be the new flagship for XL Marine, and is based on the hull lines of the 51, but longer and wider. Naval architect and designer Antonio di Mennato had his hands full on this one, considering that XL Marine deviates from its classic open sporty looks of his previous designs to those of a walk-around with easy use fore to aft deck space.  The XL Marine 55 WA is a bit of a novelty for the sense that it brings classic open looks into a walk-around, unlike the majority of the offers in the segment for a futuristic or modern-classic looks.  As any XL Marine the 55 WA is custom, and is available in endless lower deck options from a one cabin, to two or thee cabins versions, while an optional crew cabin is also available aft. Even the main deck is very optionable, this available with a central sun-pad and side corridors, or central corridor and two sun-pads aft.  But a lot of things can be changed in the XL 55 WA to make the boat fit to owners requirements.  The first hull which is to be finished for Summer 2025 is to feature a central corridor two sun-pads main deck, with the lower deck ordered in the one cabin and an open space layout.  The XL Marine 55 WA is to be powered by twin MAN 850hp and 1000hp engines with integrated U-drive line shaft propulsion, with the small engines giving 33 knots of top speed, and 37 knots from the large option.

New Model: Benetti Class 44M

Benetti has launched the first unit of its new Class 44M launched in Viareggio, revealing the design work of Giorgio M. Cassetta, who showed an informal, natural settings four decks super yacht which recall the brand’s heritage. Launched in Viareggio and titled M/Y Juno’s 7 the first Class 44M unit was entirely designed entirely by Cassetta who also handled the interiors and the decor in partnership with the Benetti Shipyard’s architects. The designer has defined the yacht as “relaxing”, in line with the aim of the project that, from the outset, was to create informal settings that aren’t overly artificial or sophisticated, where the owner and guests can enjoy the ultimate in relaxation and comfort. These ambiances have been achieved thanks to the skilful use of large transparent surfaces, such as the mirrors on the hull sides in the main lounge that reflect the light and the water, making the spaces even brighter. There was also a special focus on the selection of the materials. One of the standouts are trowelled resin, chosen for the bathroom surfaces instead of marble, which is used exclusively on the main deck for the basins in the owner’s bathroom and the day-head. The varieties of FSC-certified wood used are the result of an in-depth study: antique elm, used for the interior flooring on all decks, preserves the natural knots in the wood and the planks have different widths and lengths to take advantage of every part of the tree. The choice for the walls, on the other hand, is striped ash selected with great care to obtain the ideal pattern for this yacht.  M/Y Juno’s 7 is the ideal yacht for safe, long cruises thanks to a layout meticulously studied to ensure maximum privacy and plenty of storage space. The Benetti Class 44M has four decks: the main deck is home to the owner’s cabin, the galley, the day-head and a spacious lounge with direct views of the water on both sides; the upper deck, in addition to the helm station and the generous interior living space that extends outdoors in the stern, offers an extra VIP cabin as an option; the sun deck provides over 102 square metres of deck space, while the lower deck contains the four guest cabins and the crew area. The beach club designed at the water’s edge becomes an independent, versatile and striking space, while the garage has been positioned along the port side. The level of soundproofing puts this 44-metre yacht at the top of the category, thanks to floating floors and bulkheads and flexible transmission couplings based on state-of-the-art technology, while the air-conditioning and treatment system ensures high-efficiency air circulation with six changes per hour. The Benetti Class 44M is powered by twin MAN 1400hp for a top speed of fifteen knots and a range of 4,100 nautical miles at a cruising speed of eleven knots.

New Model: Cruisers 57 Fly

Announced in the fall of 2023 as the 55 Fly project, Cruisers debuted its new 57 Fly model at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale boat show.  A year and a half in the making to a design by Luiz de Basto, the 57 Fly represents a revolution for flybridge yachts from Cruisers, and is also the first totally new Cruisers from MarineMax, who own the name and its facilities since April 2022, who went for the most European styled yacht from North America till today.  Cruisers has been the most Euro inspired of the US builders in its design in past years, a direction its started in the noughties with a bigger push coming when the Cantius range arrived in 2010.  With each new Cantius model being more European to the previous.  With this new 57 Fly the circle is closed, and today the Euro design has become the Cruisers one.  For the 57 Fly, Cruisers and Luiz de Basto left nothing to chance, as this sixteen meter flybridge motor yacht comes with a fixed hard-top on the flybridge, drop down balconies to extend space on the main deck to port side and integrate it with the living areas, and a beach club styled bathing platform with tender lift.  Inside the Cruisers 57 Fly offers a three double cabins two head accommodation layout, with a midships full beam owners stateroom.  The main deck living area offers an astern galley layout, with forward to port side dinette and opposite lounge settee.  The Cruisers 57 Fly is powered by twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod drives propulsion.

New Model: Fiart P52

Debuting in 2022 with the P54 which has been renamed as P58 this year, Fiart continue to expand what it calls its Custom Luxury Boat line and presents the P52 model, which as the larger unit is also designed by Stefano Pastrovich.  Announced as a P48 project back in 2022, Pastrovich follows similar design and layout themes to the larger P58 model.  It is different also a bit unusual but it also works well for both the main and lower deck, with both the Fiart P52 and P58 giving complete but also unique stem to stern exterior deck spaces.  An important difference between the larger P52 to the P58 is a fixed bathing platform which can be specified with an optional transformer unit.  The idea of the Fiart Pastrovich yachts is that of a sport yacht which makes the whole open main deck connected yet split in designated areas.  As layout positions goes in the P52 it is all traditional; sun-pad aft, dinette at midships, and a second fore deck sun-pad, this last connected with the central windshield door.  In the Fiart P52 and P58 for that matter all is a bit longer, as no physical barriers exist in between the areas with a small exception being for the windshield.  Down below the Fiart P52 features a luxurious appointed two suites layout, with an owners stateroom at midships.  A lower deck galley is located in between the cabins as you go down from the port side located stairway which takes you to the cabin area.  The Fiart P52 is powered by twin Volvo 600hp with a top speed up to 35 knots and a cruise of thirty.
