Project: Sunreef 66 Ultima

The Sunreef 66 Ultima marks the fifth instalment of this upcoming new range from the Polish catamaran specialist.  Sunreef Ultima range continues the tradition of defying conventional categorization and establishing its unique identity within the maritime landscape, merging the best attributes of a mono-hull and multihull living spaces, coupled with a shallow draft that challenges traditional norms in luxury yachting. This 66 Ultima introduces a new paradigm in marine architecture, rewriting the rules of opulence with a sleek and sporty hull, with electric or diesel power. The Sunreef 66 Ultima pioneers a distinct category, outclassing competitors with its combination of speed, comfort, and sustainability; no fumes, no vibration, no trace.  The groundbreaking nature of this innovation stems from the vessel’s departure from conventional catamaran design. On initial inspection, its form deviates from the standard catamaran shape, opting for reduced width to achieve a beam-to-length ratio more reminiscent of a mono-hull. This strategic adjustment facilitates the creation of horizontal surfaces between the twin hulls, seamlessly connecting them to form a unified volume akin to a mono-hull. The outcome is a commodious interior which sleeps eight guests in four cabins and three crew in two cabins, highlighted by an exceptionally spacious full-beam owner’s stateroom.  The Sunreef 66 Ultima will also feature folding bulwark platforms aft, creating a private beach club lounge that enhances the vessel’s allure. The Sunreef 66 Ultima will be available in two versions; Eco and Classic.  The Eco version should be an all electric unit, no details yet advies, while the Classic will feature diesel internal combustion engines from twin 380 up 480hp engines.  No speed data for the Sunreef 66 Ultima is yet given,

New Model: BlueGame BGM75

A power catamaran with a new vision! BlueGame's BGM75 is the first model of the BGM range, a power catamaran which does not fit into an existing segment but creates a new one.  A parallel segment away from the current multihulls available on the market.  Primarily because from the first glance, the shape of this 22 meter yacht moves away from the “boxy” shape of a catamaran, thanks to the reduced width in favor of a ratio between beam and length closer to a mono-hull. This allows for the horizontal surfaces between the two hulls to connect creating a single volume, as if the BGM75 was a mono-hull, but with larger spaces and the possibility of having a full beam owner’s cabin of extraordinary dimensions. Also viewed from the stern, BGM75 is not comparable to traditional catamarans, thanks to an elegant and balanced mono-hull which ‘incidentally’ has two hulls. BGM75 was launched during the Cannes 2023 boat show after three years of meticulous studies and analysis, culminating in the construction of a full-scale prototype of the hull to validate the research data, guarantee unparalleled sailing comfort and confirm the advantages of this particular multihull setting in terms of sustainability. In this large time dedicated to design, Bernardo Zuccon and Piero Lissoni, world famous designers, have fully grasped the power of such an avant-garde project, giving respectively a contribution to the external lines that makes them today the classics of the future, and for interiors with an original approach in terms of lay-out, use of spaces and materials, resulting in maximum comfort, refinement and distinctive livability. For all these reasons, BGM75 perceives itself to be much more than a yacht, it’s the firstborn of a new concept that BlueGame will develop over different ranges, with a smaller BGM already in planning stages.

Project: Sunreef 44 Ultima

During the fall 2022 Sunreef presented its new Ultima range, first with a 55 and now with this smaller 44, which was first announced as a 45. Project: Bluegame BGM75

The BGM75, the first model from Bluegame to enter the multihull segment with concept and naval architecture by Briand and design from Zuccon and Lissoni.  Bluegame and Sanlorenzo Group first multihull is different, creating from many points of view a new, parallel segment to the catamarans that have till today come on the market. Consistent with Sanlorenzo Group’s positioning, she is first and foremost a luxurious, beautiful yacht that “by chance” has not one but two hulls. Not even in this last feature, though, it can be compared to any existing catamaran on the market, primarily because from the first glance, the shape moves away from the “boxy” shape of a catamaran, thanks to the reduced width in favour of a ratio between beam and length closer to a mono-hull. This allows for the horizontal surfaces between the two hulls to connect creating a single volume as if it were a monohull; but with larger spaces and the possibility of having a full beam owner’s cabin of extraordinary dimensions. This layout is not possible on traditional catamarans, where the two hulls are too far apart to allow the aforementioned connection and are arranged separately inside the two hulls. Also viewed from the stern, thanks to the length-to-width ratio, the BGM75 is not comparable to traditional catamarans, where the two hulls are visibly separated. The aesthetic impact is of an elegant and balanced monohull and the space between the two hulls normally unused on traditional catamarans, conceals a garage for the tender, whose descent into the water is fully automated. The reduced width also allows the BGM75 to be moored between monohull boats and not between much larger superyachts, due to the disproportionate ratio between width and length. In the Unique Selling Proposition of the BGM75 there are many differentiating elements, but the most valuable one is the search for effective sustainable solutions, with particular reference to the reduction of consumption. It is precisely in this last aspect that the shipyard expresses with this model its full Research and Development capacity.  Bernardo Zuccon and Piero Lissoni the designers have been instrumental in creating many of the greatest successes of Bluegame and Sanlorenzo group, have fully grasped the power of such an avant-garde project, giving respectively a contribution to the external lines that makes them today the classics of the future and for the interiors an original approach in terms of lay-out, use of spaces and materials, resulting in maximum comfort, refinement and distinctive liveability.

While the On-Deck Master configuration offers a full-beam master with wraparound windows forward on the main deck, the debuting PC68 features an Open Salon layout, which offers an expansive salon area and a large seating and entertainment space on the main deck. This layout sees all four of the staterooms positioned off the salon, with two king ensuite staterooms forward in the hulls and two convertible twin-to-king ensuite cabins aft to port and starboard, respectively.  An expansive aft deck hints at the interior volume provided by the PC68 seven meters beam, and features a regal hi-gloss table with dining for ten, a wet bar and the option for a 43in TV. Project: Sunreef 55 Ultima

During the 2022 Fort Lauderdale boat show held in end of October, Sunreef unveiled the project for the Power 55 Open version.  Sunreef call the 55 Open a semi-hybrid yacht, due to it offering speed, stability and luxury.   The Sunreef Power 55 Open will offer a large semi-open saloon, and if space is not enough this power catamaran also offers opening side bulkheads to aft main deck.  Down below the accommodation layout of the Sunreef Power will offer three layouts of two, three or four double cabins.  A crew cabin will be located aft on the starboard hull, while a storage room is featured to port side aft.  Sunreef have not given any performance numbers for the 55 Open which should follows the smaller 40 Open sister with a planning hull shape and performances.

Project: Horizon PC68

Following a record-breaking year of sales, with the milestone fiftieth hull sold, Horizon Power Catamarans proudly announces the newest addition to its popular series of power catamarans. Positioned at the head of the multi-hulled PowerCat range that begins with the entry-level PC52 and includes a PC60 and a custom PC74 flagship, the new, ultra-spacious Horizon PC68 model has been meticulously planned to meet and exceed the cruising needs of discerning boaters. The Horizon PC68 is offered in two layouts both in four cabins. An interesting choice is to have an owners stateroom on the forward part of the main deck, and three cabins below deck, while another option is to have the owners suite in the starboard hull, and having the forward part of the main deck replaced by a dinette. The Horizon PC68 is to be powered by twin Man 850hp engines. No performance estimates are yet given. The first Horizon PC68 will feature an open-plan salon, which as I understand means owners stateroom in the lower deck, and will make its global debut at the 2023 Horizon Yachts Open House in Taiwan, followed by a U.S. debut at the 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show.
