British Flagged Yacht Sinks in Corfu Greece

A British explorer yacht of twenty meters in length partly sank in Baia Garitsa, Naok, on the Ionian Island of Corfu on 04:00 morning time of sixteen May.   It is not repotted how the yacht sank, with unconfirmed reports saying the explorer yacht might have hit the underwater reef at the entrance, damaged its hull and started to take on water.  While another story is saying that the yacht sank because it encountered some problems in the rough seas and strong winds during navigation.  The Greek Corfu section Coast Guard assisted the yacht passengers, although its numbers have not been reported.
The explorer yacht in this sinking is a 2006 build Aquastar 65 Explorer as designed by Ken Freivokh and produced from 2006 till 2012.  Aquastar was founded in the late sixties by Geoff Willson Senior and Geoff Junior, entering operation in 1969 and closing down in 2018.
