3 Boaters Saved as Beneteau Cruiser Sinks in East River, New York

Three boaters were saved as an eleven meter Beneteau sport cruiser sank near the Whitestone Bridge in the East River, New York on the evening of Tuesday 21 May. Fire Department New York responded to the to May Day Call on Channel sixteen with Marine 4, as three boaters were find clinging to the mostly sank sport cruiser. The Fire Department retried the three boaters and treated on board Marine 4 for shock, hypothermia, and injuries before being transferred to EMS at Fort Totten. One of the boaters also sustained a head injury. The sport cruiser was reported sinking after it struck an object.

The sport cruiser in this sinking is a Beneteau Gran Turismo 41 as designed by Andreani and produced since 2021.  The Gran Turismo 41 was a replacement to the Beneteau Gran Turismo 40.
