It is with deep sorrow that Heesen Yachts announces the passing of its esteemed founder, Frans Heesen. Frans passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, aged 85 years old in his hometown of Oss, and is survived by beloved wife Petra, his children, and grandchildren. A mechanical engineer Frans founded Heesen in 1978, when he purchased the Dutch subsidiary of US Striker boats. With the purchase of Striker Boats, Frans sees the potential of building aluminium boats rather then the Dutch standard of steel, and will enhance the material even further and into larger sizes over the years. Proof of this comes in 1979, a year later to the Heesen founding as its launches its first 20 meter yacht as designed by Pieter Beeldsnijder and build of aluminium. This first build will be proof of Frans spirit of innovation and what will be the defining of Heesen’s future, which is followed again when he decides to embark on the challenge of building the ground-breaking fifty knots or nothing top speed 38 meter hull #7038 as commissioned by American millionaire John Staluppi, with naval architecture by Frank Mulder, and Gerhard Gilgenast and Cor D. Rover taking care of design. High risks involved this building as Staluppi will include penalty clauses if the yacht will not reach fifty knots, $100,000 for each knot below the targeted speed, and a right of refusal if does not do 48 knots. Frans will take the order for what will be called m/y Octupussy, risking the shipyard’s demise, but ultimately hull #7038 is a triumph for Heesen that will propel the Dutch name to global status among yacht connoisseurs, as it will indeed be the fastest yacht above thirty meters in the eighties reaching a top speed of 53 knots during sea trials. Frans Heesen will again show his spirit of innovation in 1996 when he will build a new record breaking yacht, as he delivers the 38 meter hull #10137, m/y Obsessions, which will be the largest sportfish yacht of the time. Courage, exceptional ability, and visionary leadership and instinct to identify and nurture talent have been fundamental to Frans success, which has made over the years Heesen Yachts a story of growth. Frans dedicated his entire life to Heesen, fostering an environment that felt more like a family rather than a business. Frans will sell Heesen in 2008, although he will stay in the board till 2012, guiding and solidifying the Dutch semi-custom and custom super yacht builder to solidify its success into the future. Frans’ contributions have left an indelible mark on the motor and super yachting industry and everyone who had the honour of working with him. Frans presence will be profoundly missed, with his spirit and vision being the backbone and the guiding force of Heesen Yachts today and into the future.

New Model: Heesen 5700 Aluminium
Heesen Yachts has launched YN 20457 Project Akira, now named m/y Santosha. The first in the Heesen new semi custom 5700 Aluminium series, YN 20457 boasts an interior volume of 780GT and features exterior lines penned by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. Originally built on speculation, the vessel's design took a new direction when the owners came on board. Working closely with the yacht's interior designer, Harrison Eidsgaard, and Heesen's interior engineers, the clients tailored the yacht to reflect their taste and lifestyle, transforming Akira into Santosha. The owners chose the Sanskrit name Santosha for their vessel and the lotus as a logo. First revealed at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show, Heesen's 57-metre series has a shapely silhouette with an elongated profile. A sweeping arch ties the length of the superstructure together, while the slightly raked angle of the bow gives the yacht a stretched optical length. The scooped-shaped stern ensures that the 57-metre will stand out among other superyachts berthed in a marina. Santosha's owners envisioned an interior with a relaxed but elegant ambience, and Heesen's craftspeople masterfully executed this concept. The clients were heavily involved in material selection, incorporating many sustainable options, such as recycled wood, 'performance leather' and 'art silk' carpets. YN 20547 design seamlessly merges luxury and functionality, featuring a free-flowing layout and neutral colour palette. The interior showcases a refined architectural hierarchy and consistency. Minimalist aesthetics, carefully considered embellishments, and unique door treatments create a sense of fluidity throughout. The design details are meticulously curated, with elements like woven leather accents around the TV in the sky lounge and gleaming curved wallpapers that reflect sunlight. The interiors are also adorned with carefully curated art pieces. The use of art adds a playful and brave touch to the serene and elevated decor. The works are balanced by the pale-coloured floors and 'art silk' carpets, contributing to the vessel's fresh and elegant aesthetic. Heesen first 5700 Aluminium features a nearly 70 sqm owners' apartment, which includes a study, a full beam stateroom, and expansive bathroom. Elegant light fixtures and bespoke artwork make it a truly personal space. The master bathroom is an ode to the Garden of Eden, with lush white-on-white designs inspired by bas-relief techniques, designed in collaboration with the client, and masterfully crafted by London-based artists of DKT studio. The snake, a totem animal for the Owners, takes center stage in the artwork. Beyond transformation, this creature epitomizes rebirth. In its cyclical shedding of its skin, the snake becomes a symbol of renewal and resurrection. The spiritual energy of the snake inspires us to view endings not as finality but as gateways to new beginnings. The snake also represents the journey of healing. The area also sports beautifully carved Calacatta Sponda marble and an expansive vanity desk. The guest quarters are designed with practicality in mind, drawing on the clients' extensive experience and deep understanding of life on board. They feature light, elegant aesthetics with breezy pops of colour, curated artwork, and contemporary photography, creating a serene yet playful atmosphere. Santosha is not just a work of art but also a high-performance vessel that delivers. The Heesen 57-metre features a full aluminium hull, an iteration of the ultra-efficient FDHD devised by Dutch hydrodynamicists van Oossanen Naval architects. The 57 meter hull has been perfectly engineered by Heesen's in-house team and crafted by the shipyard's highly skilled welders. Two MTU 3433hp engines propel the the Heesen 5700 Aluminium up to 22 knots and deliver a transatlantic range of 3,900 nautical miles at thirteen knots. A draft of just over two metres makes also the Heesen 5700 Aluminium an ideal platform from which to explore the turquoise shallows of the Bahamas. This first Heesen 5700 Aluminium will debut at the 2025 Palm Beach boat show, with a second unit starting construction and set to launch in 2027.

Improve-it = Heesen 55m FDHF
Heesen is delighted to announce the delivery of the first yacht of the restyled 55m FDHF series following intensive tests in the North Sea. Titled m/y Iris Blue Heesen yard number 20255 met all the required specifications, and the tests were conducted smoothly and according to plans. During the second day of trials, the super yacht was tested in rough sea conditions, with waves up to 1.7 metres from north to northwest and westerly to north-westerly winds with gusts up to 28 knots. Just like her foresisters, YN 20255 proved to be highly responsive, accepting steering commands immediately. The use of large rudders in conjunction with a powerful steering unit makes for a very quick reaction, as does the high pitch of the propellers. The overall effect instils great confidence in the captain when manoeuvring in strong wind conditions. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, the original designer of this series, carried out the restyle of the exterior lines. The design restyling lends the super yacht a more assertive stance on the water. The owner's quarters now feature a veranda on the starboard side, which is a truly transformative innovation. This feature is something truly unique that fundamentally changes the space experience in the 78 sqm stateroom, which now also includes new walk-in wardrobes. The possibility to access an outdoor area in complete privacy is a wonderful addition to this space. The layout has also been reconsidered and now features a larger sundeck with a bar around the whirlpool forward. On the main deck, the central atrium has been modernised, with a wider and revised main staircase, while there is an additional companionway from the wheelhouse deck up to the sun deck to ease crew access.

New Launch: Heesen 60m YN 19959
Heesen presents the fully custom YN 19959, titled Project SkyFall during construction phase and now christened as m/y Ultra G. Heesen says 19959 was inspired by two luxury sportfishing yachts built in the nineties which occupy a special place in the Dutch fleet, the 38 meter m/y Obsessions YN 10137 launched in 1996 which was then overtaken by the meter larger sister Red Sapphire in 1999 yn 10638. Heesen YN 19959 is the ultimate expression of the knowledge and experience gained in over forty years of shipbuilding to the finest Dutch quality standards. Despite its phenomenal top speed, there is no shortage of luxury on board this exceptional 60 metre super sport yacht. The layout in this 60 meter Heesen is conceived to welcome friends aboard for sociable fishing adventures while allowing the master apartment to maintain a necessary level of privacy, peace and quiet on the bridge deck with its private terrace. A jacuzzi, a large walk-in wardrobe and an ample bathroom with a central oval bath and separate shower stall provide all the home comforts. Entertaining family and friends is the raison d’être of all social areas, indoors and out. A custom wine fridge, with discrete sections at different temperatures, takes pride of place in the main saloon. The media room, home to a Samsung The Wall screen 1814mm by 8063mm and an elegant games table on the main deck forward, is undoubtedly the pièce de résistance. The sundeck, with its infinity pool facing aft, is ideal for receptions and musical entertainments. Canine guests are well taken care of too, thanks to a series of carefully thought-out details to make their life at sea as safe and stress-free as possible. Among several features, the most notable is certainly the 'relief area', a self-flushing area of the side deck finished in synthetic grass, complete with sensors, cameras and sprinklers. Heesen YN 19959 has thirteen crew beds to take care of ten guests, with discreet separate routing allowing them to seamlessly service every area of the yacht. Heesen YN 19959 presents an ultra-technological and sophisticated propulsion system with 22,000 horsepower generated by four MTU engines, driving four Kongsberg waterjets. The outer engines, compliant with the latest Tier III environmental regulations, drive steerable jets, while the centre engines operate fixed booster units. With less back-pressure and a slightly higher power output, the centre engines will be used solely for the highest speeds. Waterjet drives lower the yacht's draft to less than three metres and reduce vibration by 40 per cent compared with traditional shafts and propellers. Thanks to its lightweight aluminium Fast Displacement Hull Form, complete with course fins, gyro stabilisers and interceptor trim plates, Heesen yard number 19959 has an extraordinary top speed of 37 knots in light load conditions. Her efficient FDHF hull will also deliver a much smoother, flatter ride compared to a conventional semi-displacement shape, while its extra volume offers plenty of space for equipment and amenities. Three gyro-stabilisers will keep the yacht comfortable at low speeds.

New Launch: Heesen 67m YN 20067
Heesen has launched YN 20067, named m/y Sparta. At 66 metres, YN 20067 is Heesen largest steel super yacht so far. Sparta grew out of the Project Avanti concept which Heesen presented with Winch Design at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2018. YN 20067 immediately impressed for its yacht's athletic lines, and the design has remained true to the original concept, with only minor adjustments made to the swimming pool. Winch Design expertly incorporated Heesen's DNA to create a unique, low-profile, sporty, and elegant yacht that looks simply stunning on the water. YN 20067 sports a classic Snow White livery with a contemporary touch: metallic Venetian red and metallic anthracite grey accents that give her a particularly dashing look. The super yacht's profile is characterised by a reverse bow, augmenting her apparent length and emphasising her slender form, which is complimented by a bold and assertive sweep of thermo-bonded tinted glass from bow to stern. The lifestyle on board YN 20067 revolves around family and togetherness. The centre of the social whirl is on the main deck aft, where a full-beam main saloon connects perfectly with the low, open-air beach terrace for enjoying life in and next to the sea. A transformer passerelle platform provides easy access to the water, while the 6.5m infinity pool is also a breath-taking sight, offering a visual link between onboard life and the vastness of the ocean. This Heesen super yacht outdoor spaces feature custom-designed furniture by Winch Design and beautifully crafted by Siebensee and Leerdam. A matching custom limo tender, a mini version of the mothership, is conveniently stored, along with the water toys, behind the gullwing doors of the forward garage. Winch Design made the most of the yacht's generous 1,200 GT interior volume. The general arrangement boasts two separate owner's suites on a private deck and four guest suites on the main deck. A movable partition separates the forward suites to create a full-beam VIP or a large playroom for younger family members. An elegant staircase and glass elevator serve all three decks. The lower deck is home to a 65 sqm wellness area, Japanese-inspired, featuring an elliptical whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym, and beauty area. Carefully considered movement flows throughout the accommodation areas will allow the crew to work efficiently and unobtrusively. The Winch Design interior is based around three different elements, with each deck representing a different component: the lower deck is themed around water, the main deck around earth, and the upper deck around air. Linking all the elements are the staggered panels of an oak staircase by London furniture maker Alex Hull, with vertical lighting to bring its intricate carving to life. The earth-themed main saloon features dining chairs with seat backs upholstered in real palm leaf. In the relaxed seating area, a large coffee table takes centre stage, made from two parts of a dark-stained trunk of oak, and featuring a leaf-shaped, forest green marble top with a leather finish, to provide a tactile and 3D effect. The décor of the master suite on the upper deck aft beautifully captures the lightness of air, using soft fabrics, sky blues, mother-of-pearl inlays and an abstract patterned Tai Ping carpet. In contrast, the forward section is centred around the theme of space, with a constellation wall artwork as the focal point. YN 20067 stunning interior features exquisite cabinetwork created by Heesen Yachts Interiors, with technical areas and crew quarters crafted at the shipyard. Heesen is one of the few shipyards in the world to own its fine cabinet-making company in Winterswijk in the eastern Netherlands. Heesen 67m YN 20067 will now undergo the final commissioning phases in our harbour before heading to the North Sea for intensive sea trials.

Project: Heesen 50m Steel FDHF
Heesen is delighted to announce that the Harrison Eidsgaard studio has been chosen to design its eagerly anticipated 50m Steel FDHF series. This Eidsgaard Heesen is the second collaboration following that from the 2017 51 meter hull number YN 18151 which was fully custom but based on the 5000 Aluminium Class. At 50 metres and 499 GT, this new series will feature a Fast Displacement steel hull of great seaworthiness for optimal comfort in all sea conditions. Like all Heesen yachts, the new design will also be available with Heesen’s hybrid technology for intelligent power management and a silent cruise capability. The layout will emphasise the connection of the outdoors to the interior, providing plenty of natural light and fresh air from sliding windows in the main saloon on the main deck. The design will also feature separate crew routing for discreet and efficient service, while with tenders and toys conveniently stored on the main deck forward, guests can enjoy the split-level aft deck terrace, overlooking an infinity pool and a large, fixed swimming platform. Six staterooms will accommodate twelve guests. Heesen’s Marketing Director, Mark van Heffen, worked closely with the engineering and production teams to create a detailed brief, which was not only based on experience gained from previous series but also took into account a thorough analysis of the market. The result is a 50-metre series concept that splices Harrison Eidsgaard’s creative flair with Heesen’s industrial DNA, fitting perfectly into the shipyard’s future commercial strategy. Heesen engineers and the Harrison Eidsgaard team will work together on translating this design into a perfectly engineered superyacht. Construction is scheduled to commence in Summer 2024.

New Launch: Heesen 80m YN 19480
In late 2021 Heesen launched YN 19480, Project Cosmos at the shipyard in Oss, its new eighty meter custom build flagship which is to be christened Galactica. At 80 metres, with a gross tonnage of 1,700GT and a top speed of almost 30 knots, she is the biggest and fastest all-aluminium yacht ever built. The challenges involved in creating such a large and complex yacht are extreme, but made a perfect fit with Heesen’s history and expertise. Precision aluminium construction, high performance and the finest Dutch craftsmanship are steeped into the DNA of this shipyard. Cosmos is the ultimate expression of Heesen’s ability to build daring projects that stretch the imagination of its engineers and crafts people. Thanks to the dedication of the Heesen teams and the shipyard’s loyal subcontractors, who all worked tirelessly through the pandemic, the yacht was launched on schedule in perfect Dutch style. What makes Project Cosmos so impressive is its immense size combined with a remarkable top speed of almost 30 knots. This is achieved thanks to the lightweight and low-drag hull design, honed to perfection by Heesen’s naval architects on an iteration of the Fast Displacement Hull Form devised by van Oossanen, and assembled, millimetre-perfect, by Heesen’s welders. Ensuring sufficient longitudinal strength was one of the biggest technological challenges facing Heesen’s engineering team, who designed and patented the Backbone, an intricate full-length structural reinforcement system. Power comes from traditional, if highly refined, diesel propulsion of four MTU 4830hp engines, two gearboxes, variable-pitch propellers and ultra-innovative Promas rudders. Cosmos’s elegant exterior comes from the renowned British studio of Winch Design. Clean lines, a sporty silhouette and the extensive use of glass create a timeless, dynamic profile, which will look as good in twenty years as it does today at launch. Sinot is responsible for the light and soothing interior design that makes guests feel at home from the moment they step aboard. While the overall palette is neutral, splashes of a range of blue hues are infused into the design throughout. The piece de résistance is undoubtedly the beach club, with its side and stern platforms. The backlit onyx bar with centrally positioned seating is the focal point of this ample and airy space close to the water. With the size, weight and performance of Project Cosmos so intimately connected, Sinot collaborated closely with Heesen’s in-house engineers to ensure that their stringent weight calculations were always met. Following her launch, Project Cosmos remained at Heesen for commissioning before undergoing intense sea trials in the North Sea commencing in February. She was delivered to her owners in Spring 2022 but no pictures have appeared as yet of the new Heesen eight meter flagship in navigation.

Project: Heesen 5700 Aluminium Project Akira
Heesen has started the construction of YN 20457, Project Akira, beginning at the Oss shipyard on February nine, formally witnessed by the American Bureau of Shipping surveyor. Project Akira is the first in a new class of high-speed alumimium yachts by Heesen. At 57 meters, with an enclosed volume of approximately 780 GT, she sports a lightweight ultra-efficient FDHF hull that will give her a top speed of 22 knots with twin MTU engines. The all-alumimium hull is the latest refinement of the patented Fast Displacement Hull Form, devised by Dutch hydrodynamicists Van Oossanen and further engineered by Heesen’s naval architects. Thanks to her low-drag underwater body, Akira is fast yet highly economical, needing less power and using up to half the fuel of a conventional steel displacement yacht of the same size. Thanks to her shallow draft of just 2.3 meters, she is also a go-anywhere yacht, perfect for the crystal clear waters of the Bahamas or shallow inshore anchorages in the Mediterranean. For this new breed of yacht, Heesen appointed long-term partner Frank Laupman of Omega Architects for the exterior design. Her lines are characterized by a shapely profile, a gently raked bow, and bold fashion plates. A standout feature is the distinctive scalloped transom to increase the size of the large fixed swim platform, which will make her instantly identifiable in any marina. When it came to Akira’s 400 sqm of luxury interior space, Heesen's engineering department worked with Harrison Eidsgaard from the very beginning to develop the general arrangement – a decision that led to a step-change in the way the design was approached. The interior décor allows Akira’s owners to express their taste and customize the yacht to fit their lifestyle. Twelve guests are accommodated in six suites. The 63 sqm owner’s stateroom occupies the main deck forward and comprises a study, the bedroom with his-and-hers closets, and a full-beam bathroom with bathtub and shower stall. Four double suites are found on the lower deck, while the VIP cabin is up on the bridge deck. All decks are served by the glass elevator. Outdoor spaces are carefully conceived to offer the ultimate experience of life at sea. Large windows create connectivity between indoors and out. From dining al fresco on the upper aft terrace, to the vast sundeck with its jacuzzi, and from the forward seating area on the bridge deck down to the beach club, owners and guests will always find the perfect place to relax. Project Akira is scheduled for delivery in Spring 2024.

New Launch: Heesen 60 meter YN 19360
Heesen is delighted to announce the delivery of MY Lusine, YN 19360, previously known as Project Falcon. During intensive tests in the North Sea, she reached the contractual speed of seventeen knots with acoustic and vibration performance within the required limits. Powered by two MTU 2200hp diesel engines and equipped with full tropical air-conditioning, she has a range of 4,200 nautical miles at thirteen knots. Her exterior lines designed by Omega Architects, who have introduced an eye-catching ‘bird’s wing’ motif as a visual enhancement to integrate the main deck, bridge and sundeck without interrupting the horizontal sweep of the windows. YN 19360 is now on her way to welcome her owners on board. At 60 metres in length with an enclosed volume of approximately 1,060 GT, this yacht presented several challenges for which Heesen engineers and craftsmen developed smart solutions to accommodate the Owners’ and their team’s requests. To name a few: she is the first in the world to sport the SCR system alongside the V12s MTU engines, the storage of the Boston Whaler tender in the aft garage with the launching ramp. YN 19360 layout is tailored around the owners and their family lifestyle. Twelve guests are accommodated in six staterooms, with the owners’ apartment on the bridge deck aft. The touch-and-go helipad for private use, served by an enclosed air-conditioned reception area, guarantees discreet boarding. Top-notch service is at the core of the layout: separate routing throughout the yacht ensures that the crew can perform their duties seamlessly without disturbing the guests’ relaxation. Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design created a calm and elegant interior decor that exudes sophistication in its intricate design and unique combination of materials. Lusine is one of the most complex interiors ever crafted by the artisans of Heesen Yachts Interiors, who enjoyed the challenge of working with rare woods, precious fabrics and exquisite leathers. Lusine is the first yacht delivered by Heesen in 2022. She will be followed later in the year by custom and semi-custom yachts tipping the luxury scales at no less than 3,458 Gross Tons.

Improve-it = Heesen 55m Steel FDHF Project Gemini
Heesen is delighted to introduce to the market the latest in the 55-metre Steel class, YN 19755 Project Gemini, which follows the mythical Dioscuri Castor now Solemates, and Pollux. For the successor to the twin half-brothers, Heesen appointed Italian design firm Luca Dini for its first collaboration with the Dutch shipyard. The Italian studio created a sophisticated interior décor that celebrates the light and the indoor-outdoor connection. These elements characterise the design of this super yacht, which is approximately 760 gross tons and over 400 square meters of luxury areas for the owners and their guests. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects penned the muscular exterior lines of this successful series and worked closely with Heesen’s in-house engineers to create an evolutionary design. A geometric linear design, with horizontal and vertical clean lines, is the leitmotiv throughout the interior of Project Gemini. Warm, full gloss, Tay wood and natural stone are matched with marine leather wall-panels and doors, and fabric-lined ceilings. The overall atmosphere is Zen and elegantly calm. Twelve guests are accommodated in six staterooms. The impressive 83 square metres Owner’s apartment is located on the main deck forward and stretches full beam. Floor-to-ceiling windows are draped with cotton and linen curtains that harmonise the geometric design and add a relaxing touch to the room. Forward, his and hers walk-in wardrobes give access to the master bathroom. Here, a freestanding black bathtub takes centre stage and is glorified by the recessed light fixture on the ceiling that mirrors its shape. On the starboard side, a large shower stall with rain shower completes the space and adds practicality to the room. Two twin and two double suites are on the lower deck, while the VIP cabin is located on the bridge deck. Guests will be amazed when entering the main saloon. Two large bronze-mirrored ceiling panels reflect light and space around the room, maximising the already generous layout and making the best out of the large vertical windows. A cosy lounge area with large sofas takes the centre of the main saloon and is adjacent to the formal dining area located amidships and set for twelve. The full-beam sky lounge is the pièce de résistance and offers the finest panoramic views. Ideal for lounging, relaxing watching TV or sipping cocktails at the bar, this space will become one of the most enjoyed onboard Gemini. With toys and tenders conveniently stored on the foredeck, a fully-fledged wellness area in the beach club offers the ideal haven for relaxation after a day at sea. The layout of the spacious outdoor areas has been carefully thought through and offers the owners and their guests plenty of alternatives for enjoying life outdoor. The expansive 110 square metre sundeck comprises a Jacuzzi surrounded by large sun pads, a central bar for servicing all areas with ease, an oval dining table on port side, and opposite, a built-in sofa. Reclining loungers face aft and are ideal underway to watch the world go by. The bridge deck aft terrace is equipped for al fresco dining and lounging, while the main deck aft terrace is perfect for pre-dinner cocktails. Thanks to two MTU 1341hp engines combined with her ultra-efficient Fast Displacement steel hull, Project Gemini will reach a top speed of fifteen knots and have a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles at thirteen. Project Gemini is currently under construction and her hull and superstructure will be joined at our facility in Oss in March 2021.

Project: Heesen 60m Project Skyfall
Heesen is delighted to share that the construction of Project SkyFall officially began on October 1 at the shipyard in Oss. The owner’s representative laid a 450 BC Greek coin on the keel to commemorate the start of the build of this unique yacht, which will be tailored in every detail to suit the owner’s lifestyle. As a discerning yachtsman with a passion for speed, Skyfall’s owner has long been aware of Heesen’s high-performance heritage, with pioneering fast-yacht projects such as Octopussy making the Dutch shipyard the natural port of call for this ambitious project. It will be the shipyard’s most powerful yacht to date. Using waterjet propulsion on a sportsfishing-oriented superyacht truly resonates with the company DNA. Dutch designer Frank Laupman of Omega Architects penned the striking profile of this 60-metre motor yacht. An aggressive paint scheme exudes power and speed. SkyFall will harness 22,000 hp from four MTU engines, driving four Kongsberg waterjets. The outer engines, compliant with the latest Tier III environmental regulations, drive steerable jets, while the centre engines operate fixed units. With less back pressure and a slightly higher power output, the centre engines will be used solely for high speeds. Waterjet drives lower the yacht’s draught to less than three metres and reduce vibration by 40 per cent compared with traditional shafts and propellers. Thanks to its lightweight aluminium Fast Displacement Hull Form, complete with course fins and interceptor trim plates, SkyFall will reach an extraordinary top speed of 37 knots in light load conditions. Her efficient FDHF hull will also deliver a much smoother, flatter ride compared to a conventional semi-displacement shape, while its extra volume offers plenty of space for equipment and amenities. Three gyro-stabilisers will keep the yacht comfortable at low speeds. Four suites on the lower deck will accommodate up to ten guests, while the owner has reserved the entire aft section of the bridge deck, with a large aft-facing suite opening onto a private terrace, complete with whirlpool spa and a relaxing seating area. The main deck features a conversation area and alfresco dining on the aft terrace. Large sliding doors connect the outside with the indoor seating area and a large bar amidships. An elegant formal dining table seats up to twelve guests. Further forward, a media room features a cinema and a games table. With tenders and a wide range of water toys conveniently stowed in the tender garage, the lazarette in the stern is fitted out as a luxurious beach club, with a wellness area, a ‘fishing cave’ with stowage for 40 rods, and a multi-tiered swim deck. YN 19959, Project SkyFall, is due for delivery in 2023.

Improve-it = Heesen 55m Steel FDHF
Heesen is delighted to announce that on fourteen 14, its launched the first of the 55m Steel FDHF, YN 19055 Project Castor at the Dutch facility in Oss on schedule for its delivery in August. Thanks to the drastic measures adopted early on, both in Heesen production processes and in the offices, the Dutch yard managed to introduce the necessary physical distance and were therefore able to carry on work following the Dutch governmental guidelines with as little disruption as possible. By halving the number of employees working in the shipyard at any one time by working in two shifts, we did not lose productivity and increased flexibility. At 760GT, Project Castor is the most voluminous 55 metre currently offered by a Northern European shipyard. Powered by two MTU 1340hp diesel main engines, she will reach a top speed of 15.5 knots and will boast a range of 4,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 13 knots. This outstanding performance is possible thanks to the proven design and engineering platform that sports the progressive Fast Displacement Hull Form hull devised by Van Oossanen. The Heesen 55 metre FDHF Steel offers exceptional sea keeping qualities coupled with more frugal fuel consumption compared to any other yacht in her class. Twelve guests are accommodated in six staterooms, with the master suite located forward on the main deck. Four spacious guest cabins (two double and two twin) are on the lower deck, while the VIP is on the bridge deck. Project Castor is the first in the class to offer the new layout configuration. YN 19055 will be delivered to her Owners in August 2020 after rigorous sea trials in the North Sea.

Heesen New Web Site
Heesen presents its new World wide web virtual showroom. The story of Heesen starts in 1978 when Frans Heesen buys a shipyard in Oss Harbor. A year later to this in 1979 Heesen delivers its first super yacht the 28 meter m/y Amigo sold to a Dutch businessman and able to accommodate ten guests and reach a speed of 26 knots. With this first super yacht the Dutch Heesen focus is decided and that is to build custom super yachts. The builds continue to come from Heesen over the years with some of them being rather outstanding, record breaking, and innovative! In 1988 Heesen launches m/y Octopussy a 38 meter alloy super yacht which breaks the fifty knots top speed barrier, at the time the fastest super yacht in the World. Eight years later to this in 1996 Heesen breaks another record and launches the largest sport fish of the time m/y Obsessions a 38 meter Super Sportfish yacht build of alloy. As a custom super yacht builder Heesen has always been building larger yachts since its founding, in 1990 it launched m/y L'Aquasition at 44 meter breaking the forty meter barrier for the Dutch builder. This is followed in 1992 with m/y Achiever which enters Heesen into fifty meters and steel hull construction. Size barriers are broken again with the 65m Galactica Star in 2013 and then again in 2016 with Galactica Super Nova, this last being so far the largest Heesen ever build. Heesen has over the years also created successful semi custom platforms and two of these series deserve an important mention as the ten hulls of the 37 meter class, and the eight hulls of the 47 meter class. Heesen pursuit for innovation never stopped and in 2013 the at the time largest build for the builder m/y Galactica Star featured the innovative Fast Displacement hull form which allow for maximum speeds up to 28 knots. This is again followed in 2014 with m/y Alive a 42 meter super yacht which harness kinetic energy thanks to the Vane hull. Heesen has over the years also won 37 accolades; which started in 1991 44m m/y Acquasition winning Superyacht of the Year by Superyacht Society, and the last one being awarded to M/Y Home for Best Ecological Design and Operation Innovation. Heesen currently offers two line of super yachts; Platform Concept, and Pure Custom. Heesen currently offers nine projects which start from the 4200 Aluminium FDHF, and goes up to an 83m Steel Project Maximus custom build. Project: Heesen 67m Project Sparta YN 20067
First presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018 as Project Avanti, this new design captured the attention of a client who fell in love with its dynamic architecture. Set for delivery in 2023, this is the third sale by Heesen in 2019. With no less than thirteen yachts currently under construction, Heesen confirms its leading role in the superyacht industry. The elegant sheer line of Project Sparta connects a strong bow to an inviting transom, characterized by a stepped aft deck area with a five meter infinity pool. Indoor and outdoor spaces connect harmoniously and create the perfect haven for family life and relaxation. By incorporating a raised pilothouse, Winch Design has conceived a new-look sporty profile and paved the way for the next generation of Heesen yachts. With a top speed of sixteen knots and an innovative FDHF hull devised by Van Oossanen, Project Sparta is not only beautiful but extremely efficient, too. The Owner, an experienced charterer and yacht connoisseur, has appointed Arcon Yachts as project manager. An outstanding interior volume maximizes every corner of the 1200 GT space. The layout of Heesen Project Sparta is characterized by a full-beam salon on the main deck. This feature, unique on a vessel of this size. The indoor dining area seamlessly connects to the aft deck terrace, which is protected on both sides for optimal comfort, and allows for a smooth transition, both at anchor and when underway. Four guest suites are located forward on the main deck. Thanks to a sliding partition, the two forward cabins transform into a luxurious full beam VIP. An off-center spiral staircase with glass elevator services all three decks. The lower deck houses a luxurious walk-in wellness area with oval Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gymnasium, as well as the crew quarters and galley. The Owner has reserved the entire bridge deck for himself. Two suites are located one forward with its private outdoor lounge area located fore, and the other facing aft with access to the private terrace with outdoor dining and lounging. The focal attention on the sundeck is the Jacuzzi surrounded by a bar and large sun pads. Fifteen crew and a nanny will discreetly service the guests thanks to a carefully designed flow of movement. Provisioning is made simple thanks to a shell door located on port side, and tenders and toys are conveniently stored in the forward garage with gull wing doors.

Improve-it = Heesen 50m YN 18650
Heesen has just launched hull number YN 18650 Project Boreas delivered on August twelve 2019, after rigorous sea trials in the North Sea in calm sea conditions with light winds and waves up to half a meter. Named as m/y Erica this new 50 meter full aluminium motor yacht sports an ultra-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form hull designed by Dutch hydro dynamics Van Oossanen and engineered by Heesen’s in-house naval architects. Project Boreas is powered by two MTU 1448hp each, and will offer the full suite of benefits the FDHF hull confers, including a fast but efficient cruising speed and a high degree of comfort. Indeed, during the sea trials Project Boreas proved to be extremely quiet while also exceeding the contractual speed. She reached a top speed of 20 knots, and showed a range higher than the requirements laid out in her specifications. Thanks to large rudders and a powerful bow thruster, she is also very responsive when maneuvering in close quarters. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects penned the exterior lines of this Heesen YN 18650 50 meter super yacht and he has created a contemporary profile that retains timeless cues. A gently reversed stem carries the bow to the upper deck line, creating a powerful forward profile which is balanced by elegant profile curves and tapered ends to the decks. A lack of fashion plates creates the illusion of suspended upper decks and hardtop, adding a sense of lightness to the design. Mark Whiteley worked closely with the owner to create a warm contemporary interior design, which features bespoke loose furniture on all exterior living spaces. Among many standout details of the interior, the main staircase will certainly make a strong impression on guests when boarding the yacht. The combination of mesmerizing geometry and precious materials such as a nickel mesh wall covering by French artist Sophie Mallebranche allow guests to move from the lower deck to the bridge deck in style. YN 18650 is a brilliant illustration of how a discerning client can personalize the pre-engineered design platform of a hull already in construction, considerably shortening the delivery time while benefiting from the highest levels of Dutch quality in build and finish.

New Launch: Heesen 56 Metres YN 18556
Heesen has launched the new 56 meter YN 18556 previously known as Project Neptune, and named as m/y Galvas. Jonny Horsfield of British firm H2 penned her profile. Based on Heesen’s engineering platform for the 55m FDHF Steel Class, YN 18556 sports an innovative design, which retains the Heesen family look and feel but exudes the desire to create an aesthetically unique yacht. With a Gross Tonnage of 770GT, the yacht accommodates twelve guests in six luxurious staterooms. British design studio Reymond Langton has created an elegant and refined interior design comprising custom artworks by DKT that are peppered throughout the yacht. Two MTU 1340hp diesel engines coupled with the ultra-efficient FDHF steel hull allowed Galvas to exceed her top speed of 15.5 knots during sea trials. At a cruising speed of 13 knots, she has a range of 3,100 nautical miles. YN 18556 is the second yacht in Heesen’s fleet to comply with the latest emissions regulations thanks to an SCR catalytic system that reduces NOx exhaust emissions. The new Heesen 56 meter is Lloyds commercial yachts compliant. Following successful rigorous tests in the North Sea, she is now on her way to the Mediterranean. This new Heesen 56m is a shining example of the design freedom and performance capabilities made available to clients who opt for one of Heesen’s proven engineering platforms. Project: Heesen 50m Project Aquamarine YN 18950
Heesen is to present the project in the newly designed 5000 Aluminium Class: Project Aquamarine. This fast-cruising, all-aluminium motor yacht sports a brand new hull designed by Heesen’s brilliant in-house naval architects, who worked closely with renowned hydro dynamic specialist Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Van Oossanen carried out the computational fluid dynamics tests and optimized the hull shape, before a 1:16 scale model was tested in the towing tank in Southampton, UK. The optimization of the hull design has enabled an efficiency gain of 12%. This important result was achieved by raising the transom and making it sleeker, and in addition propeller tunnels were incorporated in the hull. This means that the 5000 Aluminium class features raised propellers, which in turn has decreased the draft to just 2.15 meters. Such a shallow draft makes Aquamarine the perfect yacht for cruising in the Bahamas as well as in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. A pair of interceptors will guarantee optimal dynamic trim at high speeds. Thanks to the optimized hull design, it has been possible to install MTU’s new 3433hp green oceanic engines, which have been specially developed to operate with a Selective Catalytic Reduction unit to reduce NOx emissions. As a result, Aquamarine is the first fast-cruising yacht below 500GT to be IMO Tier III compliant. In line with Heesen’s wider philosophy, the new 5000 Aluminium Class reduces the carbon footprint without compromising on speed or performance, and the installation of soot filters on the generators makes the package complete. A clean and modern profile by Omega Architects creates the perfect wrapping for this progressive technological masterpiece. The raised aft deck completed by sun pads, allows for a full height multi-purpose tender garage that doubles as a luxury beach club connecting to the flush swim platform, bringing guests close to the water. To maintain a clean profile line the rescue tender is conveniently stored under a hatch in front of the wheelhouse. A tranquil Japanese-inspired theme leads the interior, which has been designed by Cristiano Gatto. Twelve guests are accommodated in four spacious and airy guest suites on the lower deck and a master stateroom forward on the main deck. YN 18950 Aquamarine is currently under construction at the Heesen facility in Oss and is available for delivery in January 2021.

Project: Heesen 80m Project Cosmos
Heesen announce the 80 meter Project Cosmos, a project which will feature exterior lines by Winch Design, and interiors appointed by the owners to Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design. This is the third collaboration between Heesen and the award-winning Dutch studio Sinot. Previously, Sinot worked on the design of first in the 55m Fast Displacement Steel class, and the 70m FDHF multi-award-winning Galactica Super Nova, Heesen’s largest yacht launched to date. At 80.07 meters, 1700 Gross Tons and with a top speed of 29 knots, Project Cosmos will be the world’s largest and fastest full-aluminium motor yacht with conventional propeller propulsion system. The interior design for this exciting project is inspired by elements from nature. Natural mathematics, such as the Fibonacci sequence, form the basis for the interior architecture. Together with clear graphic lines the result is a clean architectural environment. Special, featured materials, such as back-lit onyx, straw marquetry and crystal glass panels are framed within the architectural lines to emphasize the beauty of these materials. Custom design furniture elements constructed from glass, marble, metal, and various types of wood add the finishing touches to the interior decor. Project Cosmos, with exterior lines penned by Winch Design, is due for delivery in April 2022.

New Launch: Heesen 50 Metres YN 18350
In mid July Heesen launched YN 18350, a 50 meter super yacht build of steel and christened Omaha, delivered to her owners following intensive sea trials in the North Sea in favourable weather conditions, with seas ranging from calm to moderate. Heesen YN 18350 exceeded the contractual speed, reaching sixteen knots one knot more then calculated and proved to be extremely maneuverable in all conditions thanks to her large rudders in combination with the power steering unit. Powered by two MTU 1340hp engines, she has a range of 3,800 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. Her round bilge steel hull with bulbous bow provides great comfort for the guests, exceptional sea keeping and unparalleled performance. Heesen 50m YN 18350 will leave the Netherlands for her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean Sea where she will meet her owners. This 50-metre Heesen steel yacht started on speculation under the project name ‘Maia’. YN 18350 is the first in Heesen’s newly designed 50 metre Steel Class, whose exterior lines are by Clifford Denn and is a replacement to the 47 meter platform which was delivered in thirteen hulls. With a gross tonnage below the 500GT threshold, this 50m modern displacement yacht is the successor of the 47m Steel Class. Clifford Denn spliced the Heesen DNA with lines inspired by classic car design to create a true blue-water yacht with a bold presence on the water. UK based design studio Reymond Langton created a luxurious but welcoming interior with accommodation for ten guests in five cabins, with the Owner’s stateroom located on the main deck forward and four large guest suites on the lower deck. A sister ship, YN 18850 Project Triton, is currently under construction at the Heesen shipyard in Oss and is available for delivery in February 2020.

New Launch: Heesen 51 Metre Smart Custom Semi Displacement YN 18151
Heesen has recently delivered YN 18151 the new 51 meter title M/Y Irisha. This unique yacht was sold by SuperYachtsMonaco who represented the commercial interest of the owner throughout the build. Heesen YN18151 unique exterior lines and interior are by Harrison Eidsgaard. This full-custom yacht incorporates elements of Heesen’s DNA: she is a full-aluminium, semi-displacement motor yacht below the 500 gross tonnage threshold that allows for fast cruising. The owner’s brief called for a yacht that had to be unique in its looks. The proven engineering platform of the 5000 Aluminium class offered the perfect opportunity to give the designers ability to create a radical profile and to deliver the safety of a proven and efficient hard-chine hull. Powered by two MTU 4613hp diesel engines exceeded expectations during the sea trials by achieving a top speed of 26.1 knots and a transatlantic range of over 3,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots. The Harrison Eidsgaard team devised innovative exterior lines enhanced by the extensive use of double curved glazed glass that gives the yacht the appearance of a fighter jet. The unique color scheme enriches the beauty of the profile. The top is Snow White, the main deck is Midnight Blue by Awlgrip, and the hull is metallic Pacific Blue custom paint by Alexseal. In sunlight, the hull color changes from metallic blue to dark olive-green hues. Heesen YN 18151 profile looks as cool at night as in the daylight. Concealed LED strips trace the lines of her profile, flooding the glass surfaces with light, and emphasizing the clean design. The interior design is inviting and relaxing with a neutral palette of beige, grey and blue. Walls and surfaces are covered with textured materials that catch and reflect the light in different ways creating a sense of warm luxury throughout the yacht. The architecture of the interior is emphasized by the accurate light design. Four different settings are conceived to draw the eye to the architectural and design elements, harmonizing the design of each room, and creating different atmospheres at the touch of a button.
