Project: Canados Gladiator 631

Canados Gladiator 631 project was initiated late 2019 with the idea to create the most reliable performance yacht ever with the lowest consumption to Nautical Mile ratio. Canados partnered with Naval Architect Simone Cesati, an expert in high-tech composite construction, and race boat builder. The concept of this sport yacht was focused on creating a model that would reach fifty knots, and offer day boat space with a two or three cabins interior.  The numbers so far put forward by Canados are impressive with a consumption of only 5.5 liters per nautical at 35 knots cruise, coming from twin Volvo 1000hp engines with JDM surface drives.  Canados headlines do not stop here as the Italian marquee is currently building a 431 Gladiator with triple Nanni 1150hp and a top speed of seventy knots.  Canados has thrown the gauntlet, and it feels like the eighties when Italcraft and Alfamarine used to make spades in breaking boating records in performance.

New Model: Canados 122 Caesar

Canados present its new 122 Caesar, a flagship in its traditional planning flybridge motor and super yacht line which today starts at eighty feet, and in the past has been the bread and butter of the Ostia Rome Italian yacht builder. The concept behind 122 Caesar is a super yacht created with a genuine leisure and lifestyle platform, where luxury, comfort and communion with the sea are fused in one astonishing design. The Canados 122 Caesar represents an experience where every parameter of an owner’s expectations has been considered and addressed. The primary defining aspect of the 122 Caesar is the constant interaction between the ocean and those on-board. To achieve this, no detail has been overlooked. The over-sized bathing platform, under-sole storage for your personal watercraft with a 4.30m tender garage that transforms into a teak paneled beach club, complete with shower and day-head all contribute to optimizing on-water activities. Over-sized saloon glass windows offer permanent visual contact with the sea.  The 122 Caesar has been created by a dedicated team of yacht builders in collaboration with a panel of owners, each of whom fully understand what is required. Every single detail, piece of equipment and shape has been drawn to optimize form and functionality. From deck space, terraces and the carbon fiber hardtop opening system, to over-sized portholes. The number of innovations created to enhance enjoyment are simply too many to list. It is an open secret within the yachting industry that Canados is one of the few builders to manufacture its own interiors. 122 Caesar is also a true ocean going vessel. Pleasure and practicality have been seamlessly merged to ensure your pleasure and safety is effortlessly achieved. Internationally renowned Boffi Kitchen manufactures the galleys to Canados design, while companionways and passages all offer secure circulation around the yacht even when underway. For added aesthetic appeal and purity of the yacht’s profile, all life rafts are concealed in quick release storage lockers. The focus on interaction of guests with the ocean results through a series of unique technical innovations including floor to ceiling main deck side glass walls and optional terraces featuring pop-up security guardrails to optimize the views afforded by its hydraulic gull wing doors and wrap around windows. The raised pilothouse is equipped with the latest state-of-the art navigation, communication and monitoring systems, allowing the crew total control over the entire yacht from a single position. Distinctly athletic in her design and aesthetic appeal, the 122 Caesar is an elegant and efficient performer, and powered by twin MTU 2600hp, allow her to cruise effortlessly at 24 knots and achieve a top speed of 27 knots. Faster yachts may exist, but surely not with such a power to performance ratio. No other yacht at 36 meters possesses the 122 Caesar comfort and level of performance for commensurate power. Thanks to a carefully studied noise management plan, at 22-knots the engines are inaudible on the flybridge, and all over the main deck. While cruising, one can comfortably enjoy lunch in the dining room or watch a movie in the main saloon.

Project: Canados 919 Gladiator RD

Open is back?  Or so many would say since the news of this new Canados 919 Gladiator RD project and order follows the launch of the new Otam 85 GTS.  Let's say the interest is growing, in a size upward of 25 meters, something which they always have suffered with the exception of the Mangusta 80 which sold in loads onward of 1994 till about 2007 when then Overmarine modified it to the hardtop style of the other models.  Canados has in recent years build a name in the super sport yacht today called the Gladiator range, thanks to a fast and very performing 90 Open it launched around ten years ago.  Before that Cantieri Navali di Ostia was been famous mostly for its conservative looking flybridge motor and super yachts upward of fifteen meters.  The 919 Gladiator RD is the continuation of the 90 Open and brings a lot of innovative thinking in its deck design used from fore to aft as never seen in this size, bringing to a certain extent ideas and philosophies more akin to the large centre console currently invading the North American market.  Moving around the Canados 919 Gladiator RD will be safe thanks to the full walk around bulwarks, and the centre console influence brings  fresh design thinking in this size.  The interior of the 919 Gladiator will be offered in a fully custom choice of three or four cabins layout, with a separate galley and two crew cabins for three or four persons.  Performance wise Canados is keen to point out that the 919 Gladiator RD will be the fastest super sport yacht in its size reaching top speeds up to 52 knots, and cruise comfortably at 44 knots with the large powerful option of triple Man 2000hp engines and surface drive propulsion combination.  Still for those wanting to go slower the Canados 919 Galdiator RD is offered in twin engine installations with surface drives or more conservative and slower line shaft propulsion.

New Model: Canados 88 Evolution

Canados has launched the new 88 Evolution, what is a direct evolution and replacement of the successful 86 model of which 46 have been delivered.  Showing the success of the 86 came also from one loyal Canados client who had four 86’s built over the course of thirteen years production.  The new 88 Evolution like the previous model will be a semi-custom made to order build. The Canados 88 Evolution is based on the 86 model platform, which over the years has received so much praise for its incredible sea keeping ability.  The 88 Evolution had a lot of extra work done on project analysis to have a low center of gravity as possible even with new standard to have amenities as the flybridge hard-top. The Canados 88 Evolution comes with a reversed deck saloon overlooking the water and gigantic saloon floor to ceiling windows.  The main deck layout remains an example of practicality with its oversize saloon with direct sea view, thanks to the cut down bulwarks, dining room, Boffi galley, day head and crew dinette in the wheelhouse. The lower deck still offers its reputed four cabin layout with a VIP to the bow, two twin guests cabins to the sides, and the full beam owner’s suite in the center. Like most if not all Canados build over the years since 1946 the 88 Evolution is a semi custom construction with every build being tailor made to fit owners requests.  The Canados 88 Evolution is powered by twin Cat engines 1800hp which give a top speed of 32 knots and a cruise of 28 knots.

Project: Canados 822 Gladiator

Another design from Rome designer Marco Casali for Canados, the conceptual idea of the 822 Gladiator took the yard technical office months of work, calculations and researches.  The aim was to create a versatile super sport yacht.  This 24 plus meter super sport yacht is available in four different engine packages allowing her to top, depending on the chosen power package, from 34 up to 60 knots while offering unparalleled comfort.  The tender garage door has been designed and structurally calculated to offer a built-in lounge on the water. When on the aft deck, your guest will be blown away by the available space and social areas almost twice what the competition offers.  The luxury feeling is strengthened by the total absence of visible deck hardware as cleats and winches are hidden in their own compartments. Even the Seabobs are hidden in side garages.  The saloon glass door is divided in three panels. To port, the vertical panel slides down to transform the area into an outdoor bar while the two vertical panels slide to starboard.  Like on every Canados build yacht, there is a suggested layout, but the end choice is yours as everything is custom built in-house. The standard offering for the main deck comes in two versions with either two side gigantic sofas or with two sofas on starboard and a dining area with loose seats. In both cases, the crew tasks will be conducted without interference with guests as access to the galley, crew quarters and engine room is hidden behind the bar.  Further to the front, the helm station with its pantograph side door opens to the side deck while on the opposite, a dinette with a lounge seat have been integrated for the run-it-yourself kind of owners, so they can be at the helm while socializing with family and friends.  One of the signature and uniqueness of the 822 Gladiator is the laminated glass windshield made of three panels. The central panel opens up allowing guests to access the fore-deck and its integrated sun pad and dinettes. With this feature, when at anchor, you can open up the windshield and enjoy a natural flow of breeze inside the main deck.  Down below, the Gladiator 822 is available in various different layouts with three or four cabins.  In both cases, the master suite enjoys an unseen before comfort with a full beam configuration.  Marco Casali will design any specific interior layout and decoration, or the Canados design team can work with any interior designer of your choice. In  any case, the Gladiator 822 interiors will be delivered according to your tastes and requirements.  For the most family oriented owners, the boat will be powered by twin Man 1550hp or twin Man 1800hp coupled to V-Drive offering a cruising speed of 28 knots and 31 knots while the top speed will be 34 knots or an easy 38 knots.  For those willing to travel fast, the twin 1900hp Man with Top Systems surface drives will allow to reach 38 knots cruising speed and 44 knots top.  For the most speed addicted the Canados 822 Gladiator is also offered in a triple engine configuration with hull and deck entirely made of Kevlar/Aramat with carbon fiber reinforcements that will allow for a top speed flirting with the 60 knot mark.

New Model: Canados 808 Maximus

Designed by Rome based Marco Casali and born as project 777 in early 2016 and then evolving into the Canados 808 Maximus before its launch, the new super yacht impresses for a lot of innovative features and clever intuitive thinking.  Marco Casali instructions where pretty clear that the new Canados 808 Maximus had to retain the modern-classic DNA of the seventy plus years old Cantieri Navali di Ostia shipyard while introducing new solutions to offer all the amenities and usage plan of a thirty meter super yacht in 24. In short, Casali was requested to incorporate all the amenities and comfort usually found on-board much larger yachts over 24 meters in length.  Yachts of this size are only available in four cabin versions. Their layout always calls for a lower deck master cabin at midships, to the vicinity of the engine room and a noisier environment.  The Canados 808 Maximus changes all this, offering a main deck owner suite, far from the engine room, while its full beam lower deck VIP suite offers volume to that of the best master stateroom found in competitive sized yachts, thanks to a six meter plus of beam.  Where the 808 Maximus is even more unique is in the fact she is also available in a five cabin version, making it the only yacht in this size offering such capacity. A bonus factor for those who want there yacht to operate for charter. The first Canados 808 Maximus launched is powered by twin Man 1900hp offering a cruising speed of 25 knots and a 30 knots maximum.

Project: Canados 777

The Canados 777 is the natural evolution of two recent successful models from the Rome Fiumicino long standing yacht builder, the 72 and 76 of which 25 have been produced and delivered. The 777 offers outstanding performances and will be capable of 26 knots cruising and over 31 knots top in comfort and quietness with reasonable twin 1550hp Man or Cat engines.  She offers all the amenities found on a larger yacht in a relatively small package including a full width midships owner stateroom, a VIP suite forward, and two guests cabins.  The entire saloon is surrounded by high windows and trimmed down bulwarks so you can enjoy the view of the ocean and the coast from anywhere you seat.

New Model: Canados Oceanic 76 GT

What an important year 2016 has turned out to be for Canados! Not only did Cantieri Navali di Ostia reopen its doors, the Italian yacht builder did a relaunch how it should be done and was one of the most active names of 2016 presenting an important line up of projects and making clients enthusiastic about its future. Props go to Michel Karsenti and his team at Canados. The Oceanic 76 GT was one of the first projects to be promoted in the new Canados.  Interestingly a sale immediatly came through and as promised on the brochure in six months the Oceanic 76 GT was in the water.  The Oceanic made by Canados explorer yacht line has been received with  a positive success, thanks to its work boat inspired design giving extra exterior space, and the unique displanning hull which reduces the hump at the planning speed of sixteen knots.  None the less the Canados Oceanic 76 GT can be ordered with a range of engines from standard Cats 1150hp up twin Man 1550hp, with this last optional choice reaching max speeds of 32 knots.  The Summer 2016 launched hull one was fitted with the standard Cats 1150hp.
