An eleven meter Jeanneau sport cruiser with a husband, wife and a dog onboard went ablaze as it was moored by a private dock at Carolina Beach Inlet, in North Carolina at around 14:00 of Friday thirteen June. Witnesses saw the people jump in the water as the boat was smoking, with TowboatU.S coming first to the scene to respond to the fire, and were followed by the US Coast Guard and SeaTow. Parts of the dock also went ablaze, as TowBoatU.S towed the boat away from the dock, as it was being wrecked by the fire. The cause of fire is not reported, though nearby witnesses report hearing a big boom and then smoke coming from the boat, before it went fully ablaze. The man and woman were not injured but the dog was not found.
The sport cruiser in this fire is a Jeanneau NC11 as designed by Garroni and Premorel, and produced from 2010 to 2017. Debuting the enclosed North Cruiser line the NC11 was replaced by the Jeanneau NC37 which is still produced today.
