A sport cruiser of about ten meters in length with five persons onboard sank after it collided with the Ultramar Ferry in an accident which happened near Puerto Juarez, Isla Mujeres after 17:00 hours of 27 July. The sport cruiser sank following the damages it had in the hull from the collision. Nearby boaters rescued the five passenger on the sport cruiser, with no injuries beside a shock being reported. Another Ultramar ferry intervened and towed the mostly-sunken sport cruiser boat to the docks of the Fifth Naval Region. No oil spill was reported from the collision and partly sunk sport cruiser with an operation for refloating planned for Monday.
