Two persons were injured as a seven meter express sportfish cruiser crashed into the stone barrier north of the Kewaunee Lighthouse at about 22:30 hours of Thursday fourth July.  Four persons were on the boat, with one having light injuries and another taken to Green Bay Hospital for observation, but is expected to recover.  The sheriff’s office responded to the collision with units from the U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Natural Resources, and Kewaunee police, fire and rescue departments.  The boat was reported being helmed by a 58 year old as the collision is now under investigation.
The sportfish cruiser in this collision is a Sport Craft 250 Fisherman as produced in around the eighties.  Coming from the Great Lakes, Sport Craft was founded in the fifties with popularity growing in the eighties.  The original company closed its doors in January 2003, returning with the new Perry Boat Works ownership in 2006.
