Four boaters were rescued as an eleven meter sport cruiser went ablaze just over one nautical miles offshore to Dún Laoghaire harbour in Dublin Bay, Dublin, Ireland on 15:31 of Saturday eighteen April. Dún Laoghaire RNLI went to the assistance of the boaters with the two inshore and all-weather lifeboats. The inshore lifeboat rescued the four boaters, and took them ashore to be assessed at the RNLI station, where they were met by HSE and fire service personnel. The Dún Laoghaire All Weather Lifeboat was then assisted by the Dublin Port tug in fighting the fire, which was extinguished at about 17:15 after which the vessel sunk. The cause of the fire is not reported.
The boat in this fire is a Sealine 380 Ambassador as produced from 1991 to 1993. The 380 Ambassador was a replacement to the 365 Sportsbridge, and was replaced by the Sealine 400 Ambassador.
