Improve-It = Summit 54 Motoryacht

Summit Motoryachts, the high-performance cruising yacht range designed by Michael Peters and built by Kadey-Krogen Yachts, announces that it now offers the 54 Motoryacht model with optional Volvo Penta IPS propulsion. The first IPS version is currently under construction. An IPS-powered Summit 54 Motoryacht represents the completion of one of the company’s long-held goals. The Summit 54 optional power package will be twin 600hp Volvo with IPS800 forward looking pod drives, giving the vessel a company-estimated top speed in the upper twenty knots range. Standard power continues to be twin Cummins 542hp. Both power packages offer joystick control options and the ability for an additional station in the cockpit for close quarter manoeuvring. In addition to the increase in speed and performance, the IPS-powered Summit 54 will also feature a Volvo Glass Cockpit with Garmin electronics, allowing seamless integration with engine, drivetrain, and navigational system data, in addition to the Volvo interceptor trim-tab system. Tankage and engine room layout will remain the same regardless of propulsion package. In order to keep the weight distributed amidships, the company will employ jackshafts running from the D6 engines aft to the pod drives. Summit Motoryachts will also offer the IPS package on its 54 Coupe model scheduled to launch in 2025.
