An eight meter Sea Ray sport cruiser with one person onboard crashed into the pier of Irondequoit Bay, New York on 22:20 hours of Friday thirtieth June. Monroe County Sheriff Office, US Coast Guard, Sea Breeze ambulance, and New York State Police responded to the call about the collision, with the sole person onboard taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor facial injuries. After receiving treatment the person onboard the vessel was arrested and charged for operating the boat intoxicated and without a boaters safety certificate. The boat was removed the following morning by TowBoatU.S.
The Sea Ray sport cruiser in this collision is a fourth generation 270 Sundancer as produced from 1998 to 2001. The fourth generation 270 Sundancer was a replacement to the third generation 270 Sundancer, and was replaced by the second generation Sea Ray 280 Sundancer.
