Sea Ray Boat Destroyed by Fire in Point Bay Vermont

A ten meter Sea Ray sport cruiser was destroyed by a fire in Town Farm Bay, off Point Bay Marina, Lake Champlain, Vermont with the blaze starting at 19:30 of Saturday tenth September. One person was onboard the Sea Ray sport cruiser who after failing to turn off the fire jumped in the water. Charlotte Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services were called and intervened with Charlotte’s Marine 3 boat who after searching for persons, towed the Sea Ray away from other boats and docks. Shelburne Fire Department also arrived to the scene with a fire boat and extinguished the blaze. Ferrisburgh Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the fire with a tanker truck and a rib boat. Once the fire was out the boat was towed to the shore so it could be removed from the lake.  No one was injured in the fire with this believed to have started from an electrical short circuit.
The boat in this fire is a Sea Ray 310/330 Express Cruiser as produced from 1990 up to 1995.  The 330 Express Cruiser was the shaft drive version of the more cabin spacious but stern drive propulsion 310/330 Sundancer.  The Sea Ray 310 Express Cruiser came out as a replacement to the 300 Weekender and was replaced by a totally new 330 Express Cruiser in 1997.
