An unattended thirteen meter aft cabin cruiser was saved from a fire, which developed while docked at Cypress Island, Palm Beach, at 15:09 of Tuesday eleventh May. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded quickly to the fire, with a Fire-Truck and six men quickly controlling the blaze, avoiding it for spreading further on the boat, and nearby property. The US Coast Guard was advised about the fire, and is opening an investigation to the cause of the blaze.
The boat in this fire is a Mainship Nantucket 36 Double Cabin as produced from 1984 to 1990. The 36 Double Cabin shared hull with the no aft cabin Nantucket 36, and was replaced by the Mainship 37 Motor Yacht in 1994.
