Two super yachts, the 49 meters m/y Lohengrin and 32 meter m/y Reflections were destroyed in a yacht yard fire at Universal Marine Center at Marina Mile in Fort Lauderdale, for a blaze which started on 04:43 early morning time of Saturday sixteen November. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue intervened first, with Broward Fire Rescue coming later, with the fire fighting operation being difficult to access as both yachts where water docked in cover sheds, furthest from the road by the entrance of the New River. By around 10:00 morning time the fire fighting operation had sixty fire fighters and three boats, and managed to control the blaze from spreading. Ultimately both yachts ended sinking, and the scaffolding they were covered with also destroyed. No one was injured in this fire.
Motor yacht Lohengrin, the largest super yacht in this fire is a Trinity 161 model from 2006, as designed by Geoff Van Aller for exterior with interiors from Scott Carpenter. Trinity delivered seven units of the semi-custom 161, with the first launching in 2005 and the last in 2009.
Motor yacht Reflections the other yacht in this fire is a custom 32 meter Christensen from 1997 as designed by Setzer for exterior and naval architecture by Paragon, with interiors by Sylvia Bolton and Merritt Knowles.
