Four persons were saved as a twenty meter motor yacht ended aground on the Dragunara Reef near Alghero to the North West of Sardinia on the night of Thursday 27 August. The boaters were assisted by by the Guardia Costiera Coast Guard of Alghero with the CP 871 vessel, who after rescuing the boaters, started an operation to save the yacht, with this reported to have not damaged the hull, and then towed to a nearby boat yard for repairs. The cause of the incident were reported to be an error in course cause of the rough seas of the night.
The yacht in this accident is a Maiora 20S as designed by Roberto del Re and produced from 2000 to 2015. The Maiora 20S was an evolution and replacement to the Maiora 20.
