Sea Ray Sport Cruiser Ends Aground in Muskegon Inlet

A nine meter Sea Ray sport cruiser with seven people onboard collided with the South pier of Muskegon Inlet, Lake Michigan on 22:20 hours of Saturday third August.  Muskegon Police reported to the collision with three of the seven passengers checking for mild injuries.  The cause of the accident are reported of being high tide, poor visibility, and probably a speed of fifteen knots.  Following the accident Muskegon Police blocked the pier sea-side walk with barricades.
The Sea Ray in this collision is a 300 Weekender, as produced from 1985 to 89.  The 300 Weekender shared hull and design with the same period 300 Sundancer, but was powered by twin 260hp gas petrol engines with inboard line shafts propulsion for speeds up to thirty knots.  The 300 Weekender came as a replacement to the 310 Vanguard Express and was replaced by the 310 Express Cruiser in 1990.
