Project: Steeler Ocean Explorer 67

Steeler Yachts presents the project for its entry level Ocean Explorer line which debuted with the 72 model in 2025, and was soon followed Ocean Explorer 85, it's largest model which has already been delivered in two units.  The Ocean Explorer line is an extension of Steeler Explorer line, but offered in bigger sizes from this twenty meter to the 25 meters of the Ocean Explorer 85, build with a steel hull and aluminium super structure.  The Steeler Ocean Explorer 67 will offer a three cabins layout with a full beam midship located owners stateroom.  All the living is on the main deck, and this is offered in an astern galley layout.  Crew accommodation is for two aft.  The Ocean Explorer 67 is powered by twin MAN 388hp engines for speeds up to twelve knots, with a seven knots cruise giving a four thousand nautical miles range.

Classic Sport Cruiser Ends Beached in Mellieha, Malta

A not attended swing moored classic sport cruiser of ten meters in length ended aground in the Bay of Mellieha, to the North West of the Island of Malta at around 20:00 of Tuesday 28 July.  The boat which was swing moored broke its mooring after Easterly winds reached Beaufort Force six intensity, as it ended beached in a sandy area.  The damage from the grounding is not known.

The boat in this accident is a Halmatic DS110 as designed by Don Shead and produced from 1968 to 1972 in 28 units.

Improve-it = Windy SR60

Windy present the jet drive propulsion version of the SR60.  The jet propulsion SR60 is powered by triple Cummins 550hp engines paired with HamiltonJet waterjets, providing exceptional shallow-water access, heightened safety, and precise high-speed manoeuvring.  The water jets versions is offered as an alternative to the standard triple Volvo 480hp IPS setup which gives 39 knots top speeds.  Designed by Malcolm McKeon the Windy SR60 debuted in 2021, and is the current flagship of the Norwegian builders Yacht Tender Chase Boats line which currently features six models.

New Model: Bat Combat 14

Bat ribs is back as they debut with the very adventure looking Combat 14 model.  As wanted by Corrado Rizzardi and designed by Gianluca Caputi, the Bat Combat 14 unlike the majority of ribs in its size brings center console features in a fourteen meter rib.  Most ribs in this size bring more cabin cruiser facilities mixed to those of rib.  Still with all its day boat center console walk around feel, the Combat 14 offers a cabin with double berth and separate shower head.  The Bat Combat 14 is powered by twin Mercury 600hp for top speeds up to sixty knots.

Projects: Wellcraft 33 Speedster, Wellcraft 33 T-Top

Wellcraft is pushing further with two new models built to go bigger, bolder, and beyond expectations: the Wellcraft 33 T-Top and the Wellcraft 33 Speedster.   Designed by Navia and built for confident offshore explorations, social adventures, and powerful driving pleasure, the new Wellcraft 33 models deliver uncompromising versatility, performance, and value. New Model: Apreamare Gozzo 42

Debuting in a special preview at Marina di Stabia, Apreamare presents, the Gozzo 42.  The third model in the Gozzo series comes again, like it's smaller and bigger to a design by Marco Casali, filling the gap between the successful and popular 35 and 45 models.  Like its smaller and larger sisters the Gozzo 42 is a mix of a walk-around cruiser amenities with exterior areas which area easy and span the whole deck in an easy to use walk-around deck.  The interior accommodation is flexible sleeping two in the standard version, and four with the optional twin berths mid cabin.  The Apreamare Gozzo 42 is powered by twin Volvo 380hp in shaft propulsion or IPS pod drives, with speeds of 27 knots and thirty knots for the IPS pods version.

Two Saved as Jeanneau Cruiser Ends Aground in Baia de Bandol, France

Two persons and a twelve meter Jeanneau sport cruiser titled Balade Gourmande were saved as it ended beached at Baie de Bandol in the South of France on 13:22 of Sunday 26 July.  SNSM Bandol who shared the story on its Facebook page assisted the sport cruiser with the SNS164 Saint Elme II patrol boat, and after an hour of works was towing the boat to the port of Bandol.  No injuries were reported with the cause of the accident reported to be a broken mooring. 

The boat in this accident is a Jeanneau Leader 40 as designed by Garroni and produced from 2014 to 2021.  The Leader 40 was a replacement to the Prestige 42S, and was replaced by the Jeanneau DB/43.

Classic Yacht Fire Damaged in San Remo's Porto Sole, Italy

A classic sixteen meter motor yacht named Mabita VI went ablaze while berthed at Porto Sole in San Remo, Italy on the evening of Saturday 25 July.  Marine personnel tended to the fire first and were assisted by the Vigili dell Fuoco fire fighters and then the Port Captaincy of San Remo.  No injuries were reported as the yacht was also under seizure in the Marina.  The cause of the blaze is under investigation, with a short circuit being reported as the cause of the fire.

Six Saved as Sport Cruiser Sinks at Javea Near Valenca

Six boaters were saved as a swing moored eight meter sport cruiser partly sank at Cala de Portixol near Javea to the South of Valencia in Spain on the later morning of Saturday 25 July.  Maritime Rescue crews responded to the sinking, saving the boaters, and then starting a floating operation of the boat.  The cause of the sinking is not reported, with the boat being swing moored at the time of sinking.

The boat in this accident is a second generation Maxum 2700 SCR as produced from 1994 to 1996.  The 2700 SCR second generation was a replacement to the original 2700 SRC and was replaced by the Maxum 2800 SCR.
