Azimut present the Magellano 27M project. The 27M marks the start of the third generation of the Magellano Series emerging under the vision of Finish designer Jarkko Jämsén for the exteriors and AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi for the interiors, who make their yachting debut with an unprecedented architectural loggia overlooking the sea. For the Magellano 27M exterior designer Jarkko Jämsén built the concept around a radical idea for a yacht living in-situ artwork, conceived not to dominate nature but to exist through it, her beauty revealed only in dialogue with the elements. Jamsen strips away the unnecessary and reveals the bare shape, with the Magellano 27M as a mirror where sea, sky, and light endlessly compose her surfaces. Jämsén’s architecture dances between engineering and fluidity, just as the industrial line, the loop traces its dance along the yacht’s profile, expressing a dual nature. On one side, precise engineering: the straight line of the corner, the industrial feel of the fillets, the calibrated dimensions that speak of technical mastery and high precision. On the other, fluidity and reflection: the surfaces surrounding the loop are deliberately pure and cleaned of excess, allowing complex curvatures to capture light and multiply the play of sea and sky. This tension between engineered clarity and sculptural softness creates a unique identity for the Magellano 27M: a yacht that is instantly recognizable, rigorously built, yet alive with natural beauty. Designed by AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi the interiors of the Magellano 27M are rooted in a human truth: since the dawn of humankind, we have moved across lands and seas to discover, to connect, and to shape our future. The Magellano 27M honours this impulse, making the journey itself a place of meaning, identity, and self-discovery. At the heart of the project lies the main deck, conceived as a vast loggia over the sea: a space deeply glazed, immersed in light, and articulated by wooden architectural elements that evoke Mediterranean pergolas and patios. The result is an environment suspended between inside and out, a place where the landscape becomes part of daily life, and where design does not divide but filters, accompanies, and protects in continuity with nature. Natural light is treated as a material in its own right. It enters with intensity, as it does on the open sea, yet is softened and warmed by the extensive use of light wood that lines walls, ceilings, and furnishings. The outcome is a luminous and intimate setting, enveloping, where light vibrates and guides the gaze. Metal and wooden details complete the project with a sophisticated accent, where nature’s essence meets contemporary precision in an architecture of elegance, depth, and soul that resonates with Jämsén’s vision, where solidity melts into movement and rigor flows into grace. The Magellano 27M is to be powered by twin Man 1400hp or optional 1650hp, for top speeds up to 21 knots with the standard engines, and 24 with the large option.

New Model: Riva 58 Capri
During the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival Riva debuted its new 58 Capri model. Based on the 56 Rivale platform the 58 Capri main difference is a hard-top, with this new sport yacht offering identical cockpit deck and lower deck layouts. The 56 Rivale arrived in 2017 as a replacement to the previous twelve years produced Rivale 52 adding space thanks to more length and beam and with this also a full beam owners stateroom. In 2021 Riva also offered an open hard-T-Top option to the 56 Rivale. Now Riva adds this new 58 Capri variant, to its seventeen meter size sport yacht series, which has proved a success in the last eight years. Could Riva had done something more, with the 58 Capri then just add a hard-top? Probably yes, and considering the change in designation from 56 to 58 with size staying the same, they definitely should have added for example an up and down bathing platform.

Fairline Yacht Ends Aground in Yalikavak, Bodrum Turkey
A 23 meter Fairline yacht titled Alan under British flag ended aground during a sudden storm in Yalikavak, Bodrum, Turkey at around noon of Wednesday 22 October. The Fairline yacht was anchored in the middle of the bay when a sudden thunder storm with heavy rain and strong winds drifted it into low water and aground. The yacht captain and crew tried to avoid the grounding but to no avail, as the wind had at that stage taken control of the yacht. With the sudden storm stopping some one hour later a rescue operation with a diver and towing boat was already underway. No one was reported injured in the grounding, with the damage to the yacht not being reported.
The Fairline in this grounding is a Squadron 78 Custom, as designed by Bernard Olesinski and produced from 2008 till 2018 in 86 units. The largest Fairline ever made, the Squadron 78 Custom was a replacement and evolution of the Squadron 74.
Project: Princess F54
Princess Yachts announces the details of the F54 project, set to arrive in early 2027 and debut in January of that year at the Dusseldorf boat show. The Princess F54 is a replacement to the since 2019 produced F50, which in itself was an evolution of the 49 and received an update with larger hull windows in 2022. The F54 will bring a striking profile, similar to the new Princess F58, and is a completely redesigned yacht compared to the F50. For a difference she is also to be line shaft powered unlike the IPS pods of the outgoing model. The transom will be the most innovative part of the F54, with a new walkaround transom design and a versatile aft-facing seating arrangement with movable backrest elevate the social experience at the water’s edge. For the foredeck, Princess decided to go for a traditional sun-pad layout with adjustable headrests, but with a forward-facing seating and the option of a removable teak cockpit table at fore-peak. The expansive flybridge features companion seating with a sun-pad conversion, a dining area with folding teak table, an aft storage unit with optional wet bar-grill, and a fully equipped helm station. For added comfort, an optional hardtop roof is available. The main deck offers an aft galley layout and follows the F58 for having a separate dinette in this size range and smaller dimensions to its sister. A multi-positional backrest converts the cockpit’s U-shaped seating into either an aft-facing sofa or sunbed. Below deck, the F54 accommodates three guest cabins, including a full-beam owner’s stateroom with en-suite, a forward double, and an improved twin cabin with optional double conversion. An optional aft crew cabin can be fitted with a single berth, toilet, and storage. Additional options include a washer/dryer installation and extended fuel tanks for longer-range cruising. The Princess F54 is to be powered by twin Volvo 725hp as standard, or optional 900hp for top speeds up to 34 knots.

New Model: Riviera 4300 Sports Express
Riviera has at the 2025 Sanctuary Cove boat show debuted its new 4300 Sport Express. The 4300 Sports Express is in concept your usual sport cruiser, but brings a lot of innovative features which you find once you step onboard, from its I am bigger then I look walk-round deck and side-door to port side, and foredeck settee. These are features which as far as I know do not exist much in sports cruiser of this size. Another feature of the Riviera 4300 Sports Express is the very cosy hard-top covered main deck, offering the feel of an enclosed sport cruiser even though it is fully open. Probably the sport cruiser which comes closer to this is the Fairline Targa 45 GTO, altough it's aft sun-pad with underneath garage shows its Mediterranean vocation. This exterior aft main deck offers two opposite L-shaped settees, an L-shaped wet-bar to port, and dual seat helm station to starboard. Down below is two cabin sleep five, served by a single spacious with a master room double berth forward, and a double plus single midships cabin. In between the cabins is an L-shaped saloon with opposite L-shaped galley to starboard. The Riviera 4300 Sports Express is powered by standard Volvo 440hp or optional 480hp with IPS pod drives. The 4300 Sports Express is sport cruiser re-invented, with an Australian down under twist, but also features which are usually found in larger yachts.

Captain Life Lost as Sportfish Capsizes in Oregon Inlet North Carolina
A fifty year old Pennsylvania captain died, while the New Jersey mate was transported to the hospital after a fifteen meter sportfish yacht titled Moonstruck capsized in Oregon Inlet at around 12:30 of Saturday eighteen October. North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission said the incident was reported by operators of another vessel in the area who happened to be on the phone with the U.S. Coast Guard checking conditions in the inlet when they witnessed the Moonstruck capsize. The Coast Guard was on scene within thirty minutes, who located Flannery, the Moonstruck’s 29 year old mate, who finding a utilized detergent bottle first and then a life jacket stayed afloat and survived. The mate was transported by Dare EMS to The Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head with what have been reported to be minor injuries. Shortly afterwards the Coast Guard located the fifty year old Captain Francis Hennigan Jr of Pennsylvania in the water, unresponsive, and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Since the captain’s death was unwitnessed, an autopsy will be performed by the North Carolina's Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death, but it is suspected he died due to drowning. Moonstruck was en-route from Cape May, New Jersey to Florida and needed to stop in Beaufort, North Carolina for repairs to a damaged prop. At the time of the incident the express sportfish was powered by three of its four Mercury outboard engines. The incident capsizing and fatality are being investigated by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, noting that it is currently thought that the predominant factor were conditions in the inlet. The hull of the express sportfish washed ashore on the north end of Pea Island on Sunday morning.
Unfortunately this is not the first time Oregon Inlet takes a life, as on third March 2024, Captain Charlie Griffin of Wicked Tuna TV series fame lost his life during a delivery of a ten meter sportfish cruiser, link for this story in comments below.
M/y Moonstruck the express sportfish in this accident is a custom cold moulded 2022 build Winter Custom Yacht 50 Walkaround Hull W-34, powered by a quadruple Mercury 600hp for top speeds up to 51 knots. Winter Custom Yachts was founded by Tim Winter in 2006, launching its first 62 Convertible Hull W-1 in 2008, and is currently building its 41st sportfish.
