During the Cannes 2024 boat show Ferretti Yachts presented the project for an upcoming 940 set to arrive in 2025. Sporting a design by Filippo Salvetti the 940 comes out as a replacement to the 920 after seven years of production and 36 units delivered. For this new 940 Salvetti brought in design elements from the 860 which launched in 2022, sleeking in a forward wide body design and a very unobtrusive raised pilot house. The Ferretti 940 will be a five double guest cabin design; with forward main deck full body owners stateroom, three VIP suits, and a fifth cabin with twin single berths. To forward of the lower deck will be a crew lobby with two cabins sleeping four, and a small dinette. The crew area is independent accessed from the port side corridor, which enters you into the galley, then the raised pilot house if you go up, and the crew quarters if going down. The Ferretti 940 is to be standard powered by twin Man 2000hp with optional 2200hp engines.

New Model: Sunseeker Ocean 156
Sunseeker present the Ocean 156, the second hull and third model of the more volume focused Ocean line of yachts. Boasting a much larger feeling of space than other yachts of its size and with extremely flexible design options, the Ocean 156 is set to be a phenomenon in every ocean across the globe. With a completely enclosed upper deck, like the Ocean 182 and single helm station, the Ocean 156 leaves ample space on board for multi-purpose use, thanks to maximised internal volume and gross tonnage, especially in her seamless, extended saloon and upper deck area. The upper deck area has similarities to a Portuguese deck with more space, allowing usable, social areas for seating, sun pads and spa tub options. Throughout, design layouts are completely customisable enabling owners to personalise to their own style and practical needs. This is made more achievable thanks to minimal intrusions such as fixed furniture as well as single-level flooring throughout the majority of space on board. Step into the main deck saloon and you are met with a 360˚panoramic vista owed to the full height and vertical glazing surround. With a luxury penthouse apartment feel, the area can be customised with multiple arrangements including an open galley and dining aft with bar area forward for an open plan set up. Patio doors are situated port and starboard to connect the outside with the stunning interior and an impressive vertical, glazed, floating staircase sits centrally but is subtle so as not to draw the eye away from the impressive settings. Another option for those who favour more privacy, with crew on board, is a central galley layout with options to enclose at varying levels, separating guests and crew. A large saloon sofa seat and TV sits aft with bar and dining forward of the galley and counter-level worktops. The Ocean 156 accommodates a master stateroom option on the main deck to benefit owners from the impressive views and foredeck access outside. On the lower deck, the full beam master aft features ample storage, a vanity desk and connecting en-suite with twin basins. In a standard configuration, the lower accommodation comprises of a forward VIP and two guest cabins with an optional sliding berth cabin accommodate additional guests in comfort. There is also option for crew accommodation forward of the engine room with appliance block and worktop space for self-sufficiency. The lower deck once again has a completely level floor between the master and VIP, something that is rare on a yacht of its size and will benefit those on board in the subtlest of ways. The Sunseeker Ocean 156 is powered by twin Man 1650hp for top speeds up to 25 knots.

Yacht Goes Ablaze as Onboard Fireworks Catch Fire in Marina del Rey
A classic thirty meter super yacht titled m/y The Admiral with two people onboard went ablaze at Basin A, Marina del Rey, California with the fire reported at 20:33 of Wednesday eighteen September. Two hours into the fire fighting at 23:00 hours, the classic yacht started sinking, with The Admiral discharging red-dye diesel into the sea as it fully sank. Following the fuel discharge, the US Coast Guard, and Patriot Environmental Services and Clean Harbors boomed the yacht wreck for pollution, with a plan being organized to clean the yachts from its fuel, which have been reported being filled some days before this fire accident. Two Persons Saved as Jeanneau Runs Aground at Isola Piana
Two Japanese persons and a dog were saved as a ten meter Jeanneau flybridge cruiser ended aground and was taking on water at La Pelosa beach, Isola Piana, to the South West of Sardinia on the afternoon of Tuesday seventeen September. The Port Captaincy of Porto Torres received the call of assistance who sent the CP 894 boat to the scene, who because of a low water draft and the rough seas of the day deployed a small rib to recover the boaters and the dog. The boaters were then taken to Stintino who found an ambulance ready to assist them. The boat was reported to have departed from Cala Finanza and going to Capo Ceraso when for an unknown reason ended beached in La Pelosa. After the beaching the flybridge cruiser was also taking on water, with the Port Captaincy giving a notice to the ownership to remove the damaged boat and that it is responsible for any environmental damage this has made or might make.
The boat in this accident is a Jeanneau Prestige 36 as designed by Garroni and as produced from 2002 to 2010. The Jeanneau Prestige 36 was replaced by the Prestige 350.

The Genoa boat show debuted in 1962, the first edition held in 27 January had over 300,000 visitors and featured a total of 430 exhibitors from eighteen countries; 247 Italian and the rest international. The Fiera had in its second year doubled its exhibiting space, a theme of the show over the years who always upgraded its spaces, and recent big expansions coming with the Marina in 2006 which quadrupled water spaces, and the new Pavilion B designed by Jean Nouvel in 2009. In 1964 Genoa boat show became a member of IFBSO, with UCINA the Italian association of boat builders managing the show from 1966. This UCINA move marked the end of the Milan show which debuted in 1960 and had its last fifth edition in 1965. The Genoa boat show had a double edition in 1972; 29 January to seven February and one to ten December, while the 1973 edition was when it moved to its today known fall of the year October dates, with the show reduced to a smaller five day format in 2014 added by a day a couple years later. The Genoa boat show was one of the few shows which managed to do its editions during the 2020 and 2021 Covid-19 pandemic years.
