Having restarted its new course in 2024, as it launched the new Magnifica 84, Baia continues to look forward and presents the project for the Magnifica 112. The Magnifica 112 will be the largest Baia ever build, which since its return seems interested to focus on the larger size super sport yachts, above 24 meters, but also a name return since Baia produced the Magnifica 73 in between 1998 to 2001. Magnifica 112 will feature a sport bridge layout, with a fully enclosed main deck, and a five stateroom layout below deck. The Baia Magnifica 112 is to be powered by triple MTU 2683hp with jet propulsion, for top speed up to fifty knots and a cruise of forty.

New Model: Baia Atlantica 84
Some names never die, and Baia is one of those that thanks to its unrivalled and substantive historic past of fast cruisers and yachts, which also happened to win important races with production models like the Venezia to Monte Carlo in 1990, and the Viareggio-Montecarlo-Viareggio twice in 2007 and 2008. Baia returns with this 25 meter super sport yacht Atlantica 84, an evolution of the 78 Atlantica which debuted in 2003, on which its hull lines are based, but is that bit longer and wider for that extra space. Designed by Carlo Galeazzi, Baia's designer from the nineties onwards and designer of the previous 78, the 84 Atlantica shows its origins looked from the stern, a bit less so in super structure and the fore deck, which is more space conscious and less sleek to its fore bearers, and features the today must have C-shaped lounge, with two side sun-pads on the fore-deck. Yes sadly the Baia flush fore-deck is not here on the new bigger Atlantica! Down below the Atlantica 84 offers a four cabins four head layout, with a double access galley located forward, with direct entry from the forward located two crew cabins, and or from the guests cabin area corridor. The main deck is a full on lounging and chilling area connected with the aft deck via the patio door which disappears in the floor when fully open, and also features an eight persons central dinning area just located behind the three settee helm station further forward. As exterior spaces go the Atlantica 84 will also offer a mini sport bridge up top with a J-shaped settee and a private sun-pad. The Baia Atlantica 84 is powered by twin MTU 2638hp with Arneson surface drives for top speeds up to 52 knots and a cruise of 45.

Project: Baia Atlantica 84
The iconic Baia is finally back starting with this new project for the Atlantica 84 which is currently under construction in Viareggio. Atlantica 84 follows the lineage of the 78 Atlantica which debuted in 2003, and was the first yacht to offer a disappearing patio door, which when open and hiding in the roof, made a seamless area from aft cockpit to the interior saloon up to the helm station. Ultimately the 78 Atlantica will be produced in nine units till 2010 plus a single of the revamped 80 Atlantica which launched in 2014, just before the Neapolitan builder closed its doors. The new Atlantica 84 is a totally revamped new model, wider by just short of half a meter to offer more spaces and unlike the classic model will also feature a sport bridge up top. Accommodation will offer four double guest cabins. Crew accommodation is for four persons with two cabins located forward and a galley with access to this coming from a separate stairway to starboard of the helm station. In the plans shown in the Baia web-site the main deck will be offered with an option for a dining table for eight behind the central helm station, or a bar area with stools. The Baia Atlantica 84 is to be powered by twin 2683hp MTU with Arneson surface drives for an estimated top speed up to 52 knots.

Baia New Web Site
The front line shipyard of the city of Naples, Baia presents it's newly updated world wide virtual showroom i.e. website. This is the sixth version web update for this Naples Italian proud company. Founded in 1961 as Mericraft in Naples, up until the Capasso family takes ownership of the company in 1972 after there 27 meter sailing yacht refit is not completed, who rename it to Cantieri di Baia - Mericraft. After this some legendary models are born in Naples; from the Pascia an Italian gozzo which is also the first fiberglass hull coming from Baia featuring an innovative hydraulic cockpit table which transforms a settee in sunpad, the Jeroboam, the B81 and finally the B33. The Baia B33 in 1980 will mark the first production use for the surface drives propulsion system by Arneson on a production boat. In 1983 Baia launched one of its classics the B50 with a hull shape designed by legendary racer Don Aronow, with its under water shape very much dedicated to the surface drives. Three years pass and the B60 one of the Worlds largest open sport yachts of the time is also launched. A pursuit in larger size will take six years to come in 1992 with the B80 launched in that year. In the same year Baia builds a one off 105 flybridge super yacht for US client Ivana Trump, which is still as at today the Naples yard largest build. Another Baia innovation was the removable hard top system presented in 1998 with the 48 Flash. Baia has also always given great emphasis to competitions winning the following; 1990 Venezia - Monte Carlo with the B50, Viareggio - Monte Carlo - Viareggio in 2007 63 Azzurra and 2008 54 Aqua, and Powerboat Endurance Supersport Class World title in 2010 with a sponsored Donzi Z-38. The current Baia range is composed of eleven models, three of which, the 63 Onda and 26 and 30 Sevolution are still in project stages and divided into three ranges; Coupe with six models, Open with with three, and Sevolution with two. The entry level is the 43 One, while the most recent is the B50. Current flagship is the much acclaimed One Hundred. Baia new web site is available only in Italian language and takes you around with the following buttons; Home, Il Cantiere, Showroom, Racing, Eco, Servizi, e Contatti.

Project: Baia 26 Sevolution
PowerYacht already showed you some details of the 26 Sevolution back when this new line concept from Baia was presented in 2010. At the time this model was named the 24.5 and now the model has been expanded over one meter presenting a larger bathing platform beach area. The Sea Explorer Vessel Evolution concept is interesting in its technical details, from the unusual hull shape to the design of the living areas outside and inside. The Baia Sevolution is a far cry from what the South Italian builder usually offers and has offered since the seventies, which is deep-V hulled fast cruisers and yachts. Fair play to Baia though with the Sevolution the Naples, South Italian boat builder is offering new ideas into an explorer yacht, and innovative ways of space usage. The 26 Sevolution will feature four double guest cabins, with an owners full beam stateroom located to midships. Power are not announced but Baia has stated it will use pod drives propulsion for its new series.

Project: Baia 30 Sevolution
Announced in 2010, this Baia new range Sevolution shows the innovative spirit of this Italian, Naples boat builder. Now Baia goes more into details showing in its recently new web site the two models of the range the 26 and the 30. The one pictured above is the 30, and will feature the innovative semi displacement shape designed in coperation with Naples Federico university as announced two years ago. The 30 Sevolution will also be a three deck super yacht, something very fresh from Baia considering that the real flybridge they built was the custom one off 105 in early ninties. By the way for those that don't know Sevolution is acronym for Sea Explorer Vessel Evolution. Baia has so far given very little interior planning details for the 30 Sevolution, but as announced a very custom approach should be inline in the models along with a layout of cabins more similar to those of a house. Top speed are expected to be of 22 knots, with a cruise of 18 and economic of 16. Hybrid propulsion will be available, along with high use of solar panels, and RINA Green star certification.

Project: Baia 63 Onda
A new model from Baia of Naples is always something of big news, first because of the longevity of its models; the 48 Flash still in production and sold over one hundred units has been built since 1998 for example, and second is because the styling statements this yard has made and which have always been copied. Again the hard top design of the 48 Flash has been copied by many famous names including one known British builder. The new Baia 63 Onda follows styling cues from the much praised 70 Italia and the One Hundred flagship models. It is without a doubt a two meters shorter mini Italia on the looks department. Its accommodation plan is based on a very modular main deck living area, with an interesting sunbridge offering two sunpads on top of the aft extended hardtop part. Down below is choice for two accommodation layouts; three cabins, or two rooms with an L-shaped saloon settee to port side taking place of guest cabin three. A seperate galley with door, a very much liked Italian feature is located to starboard. Interestingly Baia follows the builders who opt for an owners room to fore, with the queen size berth looking to port side. Crew accomodation is for two bunk berths to starboard. Power is a standard twin MAN 1400, or optional 1622hp Cat, or 1650 again from the german engine maker. Propulsion continues Baia long time support of Arneson surface drives, its first official user back in the eighties with the B50 Force One, also for this new 63 Onda.

New Model: Baia B50 Cinquanta

Baia B50 has been a myth of the eighties, and one of the most successful hulls of the Naples boat builder for that period. Thanks to the good results achieved in competitions like the victory in the Venice Monte Carlo Rally Raid in 1990, where an average speed of 58.5 knots and a top speed of 75 knots were reached the B50 made its success a part of motor boating history and was one of the Baia models which made it become a status symbol brand. Introduced in 1983, the B50 marked an important turning point for Baia production not only for being at the time there biggest hull, but for Don Aronow the American Legend designing the project. Aronow will always be recognized as the boat builder and racer who revolutionized the industry of powerboat racing worldwide. The old B50 also achieved an immediate success getting appreciation even in the difficult US market for its high performances, wonderful comfort expressing the concept of absolute open, and distinctive Baia style combining the pleasure of High Performances with total freedom and enjoyment. The new B50 Cinquanta builds on the past of this regenerated model but adds the extra comfort, keeps the same power, and adds modern innovation. The shipyard has increased the beam by forty centimeters from 4.20 to 4.60 meters, obtaining more comfort to what should be expected from a branded fifteen meter plus Sport Yacht. The old B50 was built to run and live the sea without big consideration of luxury as a priority, today's new version offers high level luxury in a minimal approach with an accommodation plan offering two cabins two heads, and separate crew cabin. The B50 can also be offered fully open, with a central radar arch, or a hard top. Designed by Baia technical department together with Alberto Acenzi the new B50 Cinquanta hull comes with the awareness of hundreds of built boats, tens of successful models and a lot of towing tank experience. The result is a similar to the old B50 roundish deep V hull, with a very narrow bow able to generate a big lift component abaft but fine tuned to allow to get better speed and sea keeping performances. The new B50 is not a restyling, but more a new boat renewal which in its time was unique, whose charming lines of classic opens and high performances remain unchanged, while additional technological and innovative solutions keep on distinguishing as a super fast commuting sport yacht. Powered by three engine choices from MAN 800hp engines, up to the bigger option of 1100hp, and surface drive propulsion the B50 Cinquanta can achieve top speeds in the 50 knots region.

New Model: Baia One Hundred

In the renowned Gulf of Baia, Naples, Antonio and Roy Capasso, CEO and marketing director for yacht builder Baia, the Saturday 15Th November presented there latest most important creation to journalists, clients and friends: the much waited One Hundred, new modern flagship of over 100 feet that adds to the expanding range of the Neapolitan builder. The new model represents an important step for Baia and the whole Neapolitan nautical industry, considering this as the first 100 feet plus super yacht entirely build in Naples. Baia is admired for going against the current international crisis hitting the globe, with the builder managing to realize a total quality Super Sport Yacht, and also crediting itself in having an actual order book of 24 million Euros. A much wanted Baia decision was to present the One Hundred in its place of built in Naples, where a lot has been invested on people and materials to make this product among the best in the World. The One Hundred is a very innovative yacht and although its super dimensions, the philosophy of the boat remains unchanged since Baia in 1976, opted to produce luxurious fast open cruisers and yachts, with undisputed comfort and sea kindliness in any condition. One Hundred in fact, joins the tradition of Baia with a constant research, to create an open from bow to stern, with maximum use of all spaces, for a yacht signed by Carlo Galeazzi for the design, Alberto Ascenzi engineering and builder Baia for the concept. Light plays the important role on the new big Baia, thanks to the use of glass that like a crystal form the superstructure, permitting the owner and his guests to live a constant natural view with the outside in line with the concept of an open. The spoiler of the One Hundred is located aft as possible, allowing for the traditional big Baia foredeck, which permits to have an extra living to fore, connected to the yachts thanks to an innovative central glass door. The stern area is also full of innovative spaces, and once inside the hardtop, one is welcomed in the living of the yacht full of settees, dinettes, furniture with hiding up and down TVs and triple settee helm station. To keep with the undisputed performance fame of Baia, pushing the 80 tons of the One Hundred is from a standard twin MTU 2430hp engines with Arneson surface drives propulsion, but for those in desire of more speeds there is also a triple engine option with the same power, or a twin more powerful MTU 3510hp each, which should give maximum speeds of 50 knots. As is natural from Baia great attention was given to the hull design: with the technical office doing numerous research and engineering, on the static and floating of the hull, along with minimum water resistance above 35 knots, giving maximum comfort during navigation. The extreme attention to the design has permitted Baia to offer innovative solutions that are becoming the trademark for its builds, as presented in the latest models, but most importantly in this new big flagship. For example getting into the saloon hard top, can be done from four different areas, which are the two side doors to port and starboard, innovative central fore entrance, and the aft patio door which as seen on smaller Baia if desired can be open completely by disappearing up top, making the saloon and aft deck a whole entertainment area. Accommodation on the lower living deck is unsuspectingly spacious when one observers the fluid and aggressive lines of the hull. To aft the One Hundred has the crew cabin with two cabins: a double and two single, both with en suite heads and joined by a fully equipped galley. To fore in the lower deck we have the owner and guests living quarters, which is composed of four cabins all with spacious shower heads, offering a very spacious full beam mid ship owners cabin, two sister cabins with two single berths in between and the VIP guest cabin to fore.

Boat Review: Baia 70 Italia
This month's boat review is one of the most innovative 2007 new models, the Baia 70 Italia. The 70 Italia continues adding more innovative features to the Naples builder line of sports cruisers and yachts. The modernization of the Baia line started in 1998, with the introduction of the now legendary 48 Flash, featuring at the time a unique removable hard top system and continued recently with the 78 Atlantica which the Italia did steal some features from. Still the Italian builder has plenty of numbers and innovations into it's portfolio, of which the most famous is being the first to use renowned Arneson surface drives. The 70 Italia is a striking combination of timeless design, recognizable with the flush deck equals classic, while glass hard top and saloon deck combination transformation making it as modern as you can.
Accommodation
As said, the saloon welcoming deck really makes the 70 Italia a modern boat, thanks to the fully opening patio door system, making saloon and aft cockpit transform into one big entertain deck. Upon boarding the aft exterior cockpit has a central located C-shaped settee, convertible to a sunbed. The interior saloon is made for entertainment divided with a comfortable L-shaped settee to starboard and a spacious wet bat to port. A dual helm station is located forward to the saloon area to starboard, making trips enjoyable and part of the adventure, thanks also to the big windows which give unobstructed views.
Lower deck is reserved for the accommodation area plus the separate galley room. Master cabin in located mid-ship, with a spacious en-suite bathroom featuring also a door separated shower. VIP cabin is located forward also equipped with the personal en-suite. Third double berth guest cabin is located to starboard with its en-suite head featuring in this case a second entrance from the main corridor, in order to be used as day head. Crew cabin is located mid-ship and has two bunk berths and a private head. The location of the crew cabin makes it possible to use it for guests, being in so a good position but also of respectable comfort and size.
I remember a few years back when boarding a Baia with Arneson surface drives how against most yachts equipped with the same transmission it did ride smooth and in line. One of the problems many builders have when putting this type of propulsion is the dolphin movement, meaning an up and down ride which happens at thirty knots plus speeds. This is something not felt on Baias, showing the high experience they have for surface driven boats and being the first to use it, is most expected one would add. The 70 Italia has two engine options of similar power but with the Cats giving an extra 3 knots of top speed at 52 knots and 2 knots more in cruising at 46 knots versus the German MTU engine. The Cat also has a lower revolution range of 2350. Another surprising data is the low planning speed of the Italia, planning at just 14 knots, a fabulous result for a surface propelled boat which usually with this size and engines, goes up in the high twenties. Low planning speed is a great advantage specially when one encounters not so good weather with heavy heads seas during his trip or crossing as is the case.

Conclusion
The Baia 70 Italia scores many points with the most attractive being the opening patio door, making a hard top yacht transform into a big open offshore. Then comes the remaining of the equation, that is the other bonuses of a super luxury sport yacht with a semi custom interior and super high performance, making the Italia fly at around 50 knots. Baia declared 2008 production sold out for the 70 before the closing of Genoa Boat show in October, this is not surprising considering the classic lines of the boat which feature so much modernity in them that can make much of the competition look old.

New Model: Baia 70 Italia

Presented as a project two years ago the Baia 70 Italia is the open evolution, without divisions. The patio saloon glass door completely disappears, joining the cockpit to the saloon and creating a single vast environment. When the door is closed, an integrated sliding door stands between the exterior and the interior. The large windows and roof that can be opened give the saloon light and an extraordinary feel of open space. A warm welcome is guaranteed with a mini bar, two comfortable sofas and a dining area. Undercover, light flows everywhere thanks to big rectangular sidelights perfectly integrated in the line of the hull. Surprisingly spacious is the master cabin boasting a wonderful panoramic view. The galley is fully fitted with 4 burners, 2 sinks and a full-sized fridge. The Italia 70 is a new sport yacht studied around comfort and freedom.
