Projects: Beneteau Swift Trawler 37 Fly, Beneteau Swift Trawler 37 Sedan

Beneteau presents the project for a Swift Trawler 37, to be available in both Fly and Sedan versions. Designed by Dixon for both naval architecture and lines, the Beneteau Swift Trawler 37 comes as a replacement to the 34, replacing the model as the entry level to the explorer semi-planning cruisers series of the French builder. For the Swift Trawler 37, Dixon presented an eye catching design bring in features from the larger Grand Trawler 62 model, like the wood inserts in the top deck profile, and forward raked forward windshield, and a soft use of asymmetry, where the flybridge is extended and the side deck is all deep to the starboard side. For the Swift Trawler 37 Fly with flybridge configuration, the raised helm position is located to starboard, with a social u-shaped settee opposite this also featuring a forward-adaptive backrest, table and built-in cool-box. For the interior the Swift Trawler 37 welcomes you inside with complimentary u-shaped galley and sofa creating the sense of space. This is supported by significant storage options and a large fridge & freezer option. The sofa quickly converts into a double bunk with privacy curtain. Alongside the help, we have introduced an innovative lift-up table that smartly converts into a comfy work station. Down below, the focus is on the roomy owner cabin, as well as the main bathroom which has a Jack and Jill set of doors, working also an en-suite for the master cabin and features a separate shower cubicle. The galley and bathroom feature Corian worksurfaces as standard, while the new décor and comfort Luxe pack can further enhance life on board. A second guest cabin with twin bunk berths is located to port side.
The Beneteau Swift Trawler 37 Sedan is all but identical to the 37 Fly, with the difference that you have no fly bridge up top.  Still Beneteau has put this area to good use, introducing the concept of adaptive floorspace. Where can set up this space to suit your needs.  The open platform, accessed via the inbuilt stair unit, can easily accommodate sun loungers, shading and tables for the ideal socialising space. Or for those families with an abundance of gear and toys for water and land activities, can be used as an easily accessible storage area.  The Beneteau Swift Trawler 37 also comes with a few options, from the optional Electric Skylights to the Silent Boat option, which adds solar panels for clean energy.  The Beneteau Swift Trawler 37 is to be powered by twin 220hp engines with line shaft propulsion.

New Launch: Delta Marine 110

It has been anything but quiet at Delta Marine, the Seattle-based shipyard where exclusivity and confidentiality are pillars of the signature custom yacht building experience, and the buzz of innovation and creativity abounds.  As such, Delta is delighted to announce that it recently launched a new 110 super yacht, which is currently finalizing its construction phases. Developed in response to changing market dynamics, particularly in the 33 to forty meters range, the new Delta Marina 110 features a new hull platform designed for long-range efficiency and the capability for speed. Once inside, owners and guests will be transported into a world sophisticated and soothing. Transcendent colours of sand and sea will cast a captivating spa-like spell rich with comfort and texture. An elegant play of ivories and Mediterranean blue fabrics will surround rich warm oak woodwork that extends seamlessly throughout her interiors, featuring espresso wenge accents and sleek minimalist metalwork. She’ll deliver timeless comfort with the perfect complement of understated luxury. Within a seven meters beam, the Delta Marine 110 arrangement is optimized for owner operation and family adventures. The spacious interior features a main salon with U- shaped seating aft of the dining salon accommodating up to ten guests. A large galley forward can be enclosed and separated from the guest spaces and will offer a country kitchen dinette for intimate and casual gatherings, as well as a center island with bar seating. Eight guests are accommodated in four lower-deck ensuite cabins that comprise a full-beam master stateroom, mirrored convertible twin cabins, and a VIP suite in the bow. Crew accommodations for two are located aft. Walkaround side decks with control stations further lend to the ease of operation, which the owners will enjoy from the pilothouse with its twin helm seating and convertible dinette/ berth. The spacious aft deck offers prime vistas to enjoy the scenery with dining for ten, while additional seating and a full bar are situated on the bridge deck aft in a semi-enclosed space that can be thoughtfully shaded with retractable sun awnings. Appealing to avid boaters with a love for all waterborne activities, the yacht will feature a convenient beach garage for toy and gear storage as well as an articulating swim platform equipped with a Hydromar transformer sea stairs unit. The owners specified a custom aluminium tender to be stowed on the boat deck and launched by a special davit. Another brilliant feature is the yacht’s anchoring system, for which Delta partnered with the anchor manufacturer to design a hidden flush-mounted anchor in the stem of the vessel. The new double chine semi-displacement hull form is a significant build in that it is the first new hull design for Delta solely tested through Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis. It is also Delta’s first project that will meet full IMO III and EPA Tier 4 recognition, which facilitated the installation of the newest approved gas exhaust systems on the main engines. While the new hull form is designed for modest efficient cruising speeds of 12 to 14 knots —affording a longer range—the yacht is also capable of cruising much faster when necessary. The hull shape, coupled with twin MTU 2600hp each, allows the yacht to achieve an impressive top-end speed of 27 knots.

Storm in Block Island Creates Havoc, Two Boats End Beached

A strong squall which developed in the evening of Thursday third July in Block Island, Rhode Island, created havoc for boaters anchored at Great Salt Pond, intended to enjoy a long weekend break to celebrates the July Fourth United States of America Independence Day.  The storm peaked wind gusts up to fifty knots, and waves up to two meters in the bay as videos on various social media platforms show numerous boats dragging anchor and soft colliding on each other.  Ultimately no one was reported grievously injured and only two boats ended beached, which considering the storm intensity and tens of boats and yachts all anchored or swing moored at close proximity to each other it was a lucky outcome, also thanks to the harbour master who was there assisting and saving the boats and yachts with his rib.
A nine meter sport cruiser ended beached, with a sailing yacht of about ten meters in length finishing in the same position a couple meters away.

Fairline Cruiser Saved from Fire in Formentera

A fourteen meter Fairline sport cruiser with German flag was saved from a fire scare as it was anchored at S'Espalmador islet, to the North of Formentera on the afternoon of Tuesday first July.  The boat was first assisted by nearby boaters as Palma Maritime Rescue Coordination Center was alerted of the fire and deployed the Salvamar Naos to the scene, who managed to control the fire.  The fire was reported to have originated from a mechanical failure to an engine.  The number of persons onboard the sport cruiser was not reported at the time of the fire, as was not the extent of the damage.
The Fairline in this fire is a Targa 47 GT as designed inhouse and by Bernard Olesinski and produced from 2005 to 2010 in 200 units.  The Targa 47 GT was a replacement to the Targa 43, and was replaced by the Fairline Targa 48 Open.
