Fairline New Web Site

Fairline one of Britain's famous pleasure boat and yacht builders presents its new World web showroom. The story of Fairline starts in 1963 when Jack Newington purchases unused gravel pits by the river Nene and transforms them into Oundle marina. Four years later to this in 1967 the first Fairline 19 feet river cruiser is produced in fiberglass. Seven years after the first boat is built the 32 Phantom is produced which is followed in 1977 by the 40, the longest ever produced Fairline in time model making eleven years of production till the final Mk.IV version. In 1981 Fairline produces another successful model with the aft cabin 36 Turbo, which will also mark the start of Bernard Olseinski as head designer and naval architect lasting till 2012.  Olesinski will for 31 years design all Fairline hull models, replaced in 2012 by Vripack. 1985 marks another important Fairline evolution with the presentation of the first generation Targa 33, a name which since the nineties represents all the sports series within the brand. After knocking on the yacht world in 1986 with the 50, in 1991 Fairline presented the 62 Squadron, a name which becomes a series for the large yachts and from 2010 will represent all the flybridge models.  In 2001 Fairline expands to a new 60,000 square foot facility fully completed two years later. In 2003 Fairline makes two important milestones; the launch of it's ten thousand boat a 65 Squadron, and the launch of the Squadron 74 flagship, which in 2007 evolved as the 78 Custom and is the largest build to date produced till 2018 for 115 units. In 2004 Fairline presents the new Gran Turismo hard top version of its Targa series, with the launch of the first generation 62. By 2012 Fairline had build over 12000 boats this number reached in 2010 with the delivery of a second generation 55 Squadron.  Fairline has over the years received various prizes; 1986 and 2008 Queens Award for Export, 2007 the Targa 38 and Squadron 68 and in 2020 the F//Line 33 win IPC Motorboat of the Year, Targa 63/65 GTO in 2017 and Targa 43/45 GTO in 2018 and Squadron 68 in 2019 win the World Yacht Trophies.  After the retirement of founder owner Sam Newington in 1996 Fairline had many owners first sold to Renwick Group, then in 2005 to 3i Investments, and 2011 to Better Capital. In the fall of 2015 Fairline goes in administration with two British resident Russians Alexander Volov and Igor Glyanenko buying it in early 2016, in 2020 RiverRock buys a majority stake, which in 2021 sells to Hannover with the Russian duo still believed to be minor share holders.  After 2016 and the new Russian ownership Fairline has been reinventing itself, first giving design duties to Italian Alessandro Mancini, and then back in 2021 returning it fully inhouse to Andy Pope who penned most of the models from 1993 to 2014.  Fairline currently offers thirteen models into four series; F-Line, Targa, Phantom, and Squadron, which start at 33 feet with the F//Line 33 introduced in 2019 and go up to the Squadron 68, with its latest model being the 2022 launched Phantom 65. Fairline's new website takes you around with the following buttons; Yachts, Find a Dealer, Latest News, Events, Destinations, Playlists, Pre-Owned, Our Story, Fairline Marina, Contact Us, Careers, Dealership Opportunities, Privacy Policy, and Terms and Conditions.  Fairline is also on social media with buttons at the bottom of the page taking you to its Linkedin, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram pages.

Web: Picchiotti New Web Site

Picchiotti presents its new website, which comes following the new ownership of The Italian Sea Group in 2022. Founded in a historical date of 1575 on the limits of the Arno river in Pisa, Picchiotti later moved at some time in the late nineteen century to the Viareggio sea-side town.  Coming under Perini ownership Picchiotti was moved again in 2010 to La Spezia with the sail yacht builder taking the place of the Viareggio yard from the early nineties.  Now under this new ownership of The Italian Sea Group, Picchiotti will return to Marina di Carrara where in 1982 it build its largest 103 meter build to date.  The Picchiotti family is one of the reasons why the seaside Village of Viareggio became known as the Yacht City of the World since the eighties. In its four century history Picchiotti did nearly build everything from wooden sail boats, Iron Italian Navy vessels, and race craft. The yard has also a unique record of building yachts being one of the first to do it with the 15 metre Espria of 1905, and then followed by the famous 36.5 metre Kon-Tiki from 1947, and the 1982 delivered 103,85 meter Al Said now Al Mubrikah which was for a long time the largest super yacht ever build in Italy. Picchiotti was also the first for building semi-serial motor cruisers and yachts in wood from 1955 to 1980.  This started with the 13,30 to 17 meter Versilia in 1955 sold in eleven units, and was followed in 1961 by the 10.25 meter Giglio its best seller with 52 units sold.  The Picchiotti semi production series continued till 1975 with the 1962 Giannutri and 1965 Giraglia both selling 28 units each to make them second best seller.  Other models of the semi-production line which came where the 1963 Gorgona, 1965 75, the 1966 Mistral 55, 1968 with 90 series which was made in four units following the launch of Sunny Dream and the Lampuga 42, 1969 Cariddi 55, and last the Poalo Caliari designed series from the revolutionary Tiger at first in 11,20 then expanded to 12,30 meters and available in three versions N, S, and F, to the Lupo di Mare and Progetto 68.  In the early nineties a historical turn came for Picchiotti with the newly founded Perini Navi first leasing the yard premises for the construction of its unique sail boats, and later on purchasing the whole area and the brand. In the year 2010 Picchiotti returns to the scene with the launching of three custom super yachts from the Phillipe Briand Vitruvius Explorer series, the 50m in 2010, a 55.7m in 2012, and 73m in 2014 this being also Picchiotti second largest build to date.  Picchiotti new web site is available in Italian and English language and takes you around with the following buttons; Brand, Heritage, Fleet, News, Archive, Sales, Contact, and TISC.

Web: Gagliotta New Web Site

Italian Neapolitan builder Gagliotta updates its World wide web showroom to a new design. Not very known outside the Italian peninsula, this builder has great respect mostly attributed to the racing success of founder Salvatore Gagliotta. Founded in 1952 in Naples, Mergellina, Gagliotta starts producing his first prototypes, which are small fast boats based on a Hunt hull design. Years pass and in the sixties Gagliotta moves from a hand building method to a semi production GRP construction way, and in the same time starts to compete in the Offshore competitions. In 1968 it also receives an honorable mention on the renowned Italian Nautica Magazine, where the Budda Blitz cruiser competing in a race keeps following the faster boats, with top US powerboat builder and racer Don Aronow complimenting this feat saying that the only one European hull is worth copying is that of the Naples built and designed Gagliotta. In the year 2000 the Naples builder introduces the 37 Gagliardo designed by Stefano Mango which is still in production as 37, changing with this model the philosophy concept of all the range evolving it from a fast sport boat type to a sportfish cruiser. Today four out of five models follows this design accept for the 2009 introduced Judel and Vroijlik 35 Lobster. The current Gagliotta range offers four models from 35 to 52 feet, and two ranges Fisherman three units and the entry model 35 Lobster.  In 2017 Gagliotta also announced two additional 48 and 42 Lobster projects but so far these have not materialized as at today.  The new Gagliotta web site is available English and Italian language takes you around with the following buttons; Home, The Shipyard, Fisherman, Lobster,  and Contacts.  Gagliotta is also on social media with side and bottom links taking you to its Facebook and Instagram pages.

Web: F&S New Web Site

Delaware's custom Sportfish Yacht builder F&S presents a new virtual Internet showroom. Jim Floyd founded F&S around the late eighties, building hull number one a 58 foot Sportfish Yacht which today is called Triple-Net. But the founding pillars of F&S start in reality earlier to this, when Jim entered the woodwork trade in his early twenties, and later on founded his own construction company practicing as master carpenter and cabinet maker. United with an outdoor passion, Jim hunts and fishes most of the East Coast on his 23 foot Seacraft, which leads him to Carolina in the late seventies where the first custom builders shops start refining and pioneering the works for custom cold molded construction sportfish boats. At first Jim Floyd works and collaborates with Ricky Scarborough of North Carolina.  This collaboration and the studying of the Carolina builders, with the addition of experimenting with resins and hull shapes leads Jim to launch his first boat, hull number one a 58 feet launched in 1996 and built in the unlikely location of Middletown chicken house. The first F&S featured what have become trademark touches of the models coming from Delaware; having Carolina lines with bow flair and shear line included, and a variable deadrise hull. F&S are built in cold moulded glass fibre with resin over wood in jig method, and feature a unique variable deadrise, longitudinal stepped Vee hull. This gives benefits as stability at roll, track ability in following waters, and soft head sea entry. F&S has so far delivered delivered just under thirty boats from 1996 till today, although there was a twelve year break period till the second built went in the water. The smallest of the constructions has been a 36 feet Express with outboards hull 21 delivered in 2012, and the largest to date is the 2019 delivered hull 27 at 78 feet. Today F&S is managed by Jim Floyd, wife Maria, children Tim and Christina all in the business, with Joe Bonvetti and a select group of craftsman building each Sportfish Yacht to owner specifications. Web: Hargrave Yachts New Web Site

Hargrave Yachts updates its website to a new modern platform. Hargrave was founded first as a design studio in 1957, and starting out to build yachts in 1997 when Jack Hargrave passed away, and Michael Joyce returned to the company as President and CEO in 1997, after an absence of twenty years. Michael Joyce recognized the fact that for Hargrave, who with its founder as a design studio had created legends by designing for builders with the likes of Amels, Atlantic, Burger, Halmatic, Hatteras, and Prairie it was time to make the next step of becoming a builder. The concept at Hargrave is to build custom Motor and Super Yachts backed by the fame and capability of its design studio.  Today Hargrave offers three models, which start with the 92 Expedition and go up to the 116 Tri Deck, with the builder having the capability to build up to 140 feet. Hargrave has delivered over fifty models in a span of ten years, with the smallest being a 45 Express, and the largest so far being the 120 Signature Series Tri-Deck. Grand Banks New Web Site

Grand Banks unveils a new World wide web virtual showroom site. Grand Banks started operation in 1956 as American Marine Limited founded by Robert J. Newton and sons John and Whit in Honk Kong. But the start was not about a trawler yacht, as its first jobs it built custom Sparkman and Stephens, William Gardner, Nat Herreshoff, and Ray Hunt designed sailing yachts. In 1962 the Newton's commissioned Kenneth Smith a 36 feet humble cruising boat with work-boat like looks, which will be named Spray. This 36 Classic was a turn around for the Newton's and with it came a change from building custom sailing yachts to this traditional looking explorer cruiser.  Launched in 1964 the 36 Classic was produced till 2004 and was followed in the same year by a smaller 32 Sedan, with this series taking the name of Heritage and totalling 22 models in a production run which lasted till 2016 and included a one off 80 model launched in 1975. In 1973 Grand Banks starts switching all its models to fiberglass construction. 1993 marks an important move to Grand Banks launching the Eastbay series designed by previous collaborator Ray Hunt, and inspired to the Down East lobster boats. The Eastbay started with the 38 EX and up till today it has totalled sixteen models, including the current 44 launched in 2016 and upcoming 60 model. In 2001 the Aleutian larger yacht series was introduced with the 64, and in fourteen years it featured seven different models from the 2010 two year produced 53 to the 76 RP produced 2010 till 2012. In 2014 Grand Banks started a new path when it bought out Palm Beach motor yachts and CEO Mark Richards took over the helm.  After Mark Richards took over he changed the traditional GB explorer line, and reinvented it with V-warp hull shape, and redefined exterior looks, starting all this with the GB60 launched in 2017.  Currently Grand Banks produces five models in two range Eastbay and and the reinvented explorer GB line.
