New Model: Viking 92 Convertible

Here I can write the usual post on how the Viking 92 Convertible is different to the other ten hulls currently sold of the 92 Enclosed Bridge.  But why? One can look at the picture above and see that important aesthetic all alone reason.  The Viking 92 Convertible is an incredible looking machine, this does not mean the Enclosed Bridge is not, but the open bridge really shows how a super sport-fisherman is meant to look.  It is a fact with the units so far sold, that practical reasons win and that is why 90% of the hulls delivered have been Enclosed Bridge versions with the benefits of comfort this gives. But looking at the 92 Convertible from the outside, some of the Enclosed Bridge owners might have a small regret.

Project: Viking 48 SC

Viking continues to expand the 48 series and presents the range with more projects after the launch of the Convertible and Open models.  When the 48 series will be complete will be seeing a four model line up offer all catering to different clientele needs.  This time around Viking presents the project for the 48 SC, these last initials standing for sport cruiser. The 48 SC is very much the same to the Open in layout, with the difference of a three part hard top protecting the center cockpit of the main deck. The Viking 48 SC is on paper the most cruiser friendly model of the series, without forgetting that its DNA is still that of a sport-fishing machine, its aft deck is open, and the mezzanine settees are there.

Project: Viking 82 Cockpit Motor Yacht

Currently enjoying huge success in the sportfish yacht sector, Viking continue its pursuit in entering the motor yacht category and after launching the 75, here presents the project for a new 82 Cockpit Motor Yacht.  Based on the hull lines of the 75 but extended in length aft by over a meter, for which the 82 receives an open lowered cockpit deck for the fisherman or diving passionate guests with a ten square meter size.  As the 75 the 82 Cockpit Motor Yacht is available in a few variants to choose for the buyer. Enclosed bridge or hard top as picture above is the most visible choice.  But Viking also offers two main deck layouts with the main difference here being to go for an American bar style galley, or a European dining table and smaller galley.  Lower deck offers four double guest cabins below, plus two crew cabins aft sleeping four. Project: Viking 37 Billfish

Here is the project for a new Viking 37 Billfish, which is in reality a new badge and a lightly modified Ocean Yachts with the same name launched in 2008 and proving itself as a popular model since.  The story goes like this, when the neighboring Ocean Yachts went bankrupt at the end of 2015,  and the subsequent sale to Dr.Troicki this year, Viking bought the molds of this model. The Viking 37 Billfish will be powered by twin 550hp Cummins on shafts, a big alternative to the five power options offered on the Ocean which also included the choice of IPS pod propulsion.  As the Ocean, the Viking 37 Billfish will also feature two option for the interior layout, with choice of an island double or three berths forward.  Design wise the difference I can note in the project is a new side window profile.  With the new Bertram 35 finalizing production and this rebooted challenge from Viking we might see a new niche in this size for classic looking sport-fish yachts at around eleven meters in size.

Project: Viking 48 Open

One platform and loads of different models coming from it, as Viking did with the 42 and 52, the same formula is used again on the new 48 series which now is added with the new Open project set to launch later on this year. The fourth 48 model series, the 48 Open distinct itself for being an open express type sport-fish with large exterior areas, differing from the SC and ST model for having a one peace hard top available as option.  The split level exterior indeed is huge and the free fish battle aft deck is added with a raised cockpit offering two large L-shape dinette's a central helm station, and two forward looking passenger seats to the sides. Below the 48 Open offers a four berth accommodation, with a forward owners stateroom, bunk twin guest cabin, L-shape dinette to starboard, with a galley and shower head to port side.  Power is from twin Man 1200hp which give speeds above 35 knots and cruise at around 30 knots.
