New Model: Mulder Favorite 2200

Marrying the classic Mulder Favorite lines with a modern twist, the 22.5-metre all-aluminium Favorite 2200 has been developed with unique specifications which work perfectly to offer exceptional owner-operated explorations in style and comfort. The accommodation on board the Favorite 2200 can be found across three generous staterooms. Her airy, light-filled master cabin comes complete with a desk, ample storage space, and a spacious ensuite bathroom with cupboards and a walk-in shower. Two additional guest staterooms are located aft, both of which include a Pullman bed. As for her styling, Miulder likes to work closely with the vessel’s owners in order to achieve a look which is both contemporary and totally unique, matching the requirements and quirks he likes. The Mulder Favorite 2200 is a true Dutch product, with naval architecture from Vripack Naval Architects and both interior and exterior design by Guido de Groot. Primarily designed as a spacious yacht for all the family to enjoy, the main saloon comes complete with a large seating area and a cosy dining space with a round seat opposite the dashboard. In addition, her generous onboard volumes allow for distinctive interior layouts on both the upper and lower decks. Crafted by Mulder with relaxation in mind, guests looking for a space to kick back and unwind are spoilt for choice. On the main deck, guests can enjoy spending time in a thoughtfully-laid out dining area complete with two large couches. A fully-stocked outdoor bar is located on the aft deck, and illuminated stairs lead up to the flybridge where another extensive dining area can be found. Below deck, another relaxation space can be found, complete with a couch, television and desk. More practical matters are also well taken care of by the Favorite 2200, thanks to her exceptionally large laundry room and spacious U-shaped galley which comes equipped with all the latest appliances. Clever use of storage space is a consistent theme on board the Favorite 2200 and continues below the lower saloon, where a generous storage area of twenty square metres can be found, perfect for storing cool drinks, foods and other perishables. Of course, it would be remiss not to make mention of the Favorite 2200’s flybridge. Its clever design is integrated in such a way that it disappears partially into the superstructure, meaning that the sleek lines of the profile remain intact. As an added bonus, it is possible to control the yacht from either the inside or from the flybridge. Both areas feature the most up-to-date equipment, comfortable seating and a couch portside so that co-captains can enjoy cruising alongside. A feeling of spaciousness can be found throughout the yacht, with all guest cabins boasting a ceiling height of two metres. Guests keen to stay connected with the outdoors can make use of the sunbathing area located on the foredeck. Naturally, however comfortable the yacht might be, there will be times when those on board are keen to explore further and get their pulses racing on the water. Here too, the Mulder Favorite 2200 does not disappoint. An easily-accessible tender garage is located in the stern of the yacht which houses a Williams 395 Sportjet tender, a jet ski and four bicycles. For ease of entering and leaving the water, the aft swim platform comes equipped with an automatic swimming ladder which can be electrically operated by means of a radio remote control or with a smartphone app. As is typical for Mulder yachts, performance is at the top of the list, with an efficient, fast displacement round bilged hull shape is powered by twin Volvo 1000hp engines. The Favorite 2200 quietly and comfortably reaches a top speed of 22 knots, with a cruising speed of seventeen. Alongside her excellent fuel economy and top-level sailing characteristics, those on board can also enjoy a genuinely comfortable cruising experience, thanks to the high quality noise insulation which can be found throughout the yacht. Finally, as is becoming increasingly important for the owners the Favorite 2200 also hits the spot for those looking to traverse further afield, and has an incredible range of 2,250 nautical miles at a speed of 10 knots.

Project: Vicem 65 Classic

With three hulls already under construction, Turkish yacht builder Vicem Yachts is proud to announce the project of the restyled and re-engineered 65 Classic. To guarantee owners even more flexibility, the manufacturer will offer the yacht in either their traditional cold-molded construction, or mirroring other recent successes like the 50 Classic also in fiberglass. The advantage of the latter, among other things, is a faster delivery time for owners. Currently Vicem have three 65 Classic models under construction, with two fiberglass and one cold-molded hull in build. Vicem Yachts is well-known as one of the leading cold-molded wooden yacht builders in the world, but the company is equally accomplished at composite fiberglass construction. Fiberglass builds provide Vicem quicker turnarounds as well as easier maintenance, giving the customizable 65-footer a unique combination of style, value, performance and durability. The 65 Classic is also offered with two drivetrain choices, Volvo IPS or traditional line shaft providing the yacht a proven propulsion to achieve around a 23-knot cruising speed and top speeds exceeding 28 knots. Because the engine room is set aft under the cockpit, either installation provides the builder maximum flexibility on interior accommodations. Additionally, the engine room placement allows for significantly reduced engine noise to the accommodations deck. The new 65 Classic has a completely reworked interior whose showstopper is an optional full-beam, mid-ship master stateroom located just under the saloon. In the standard three-cabin configuration, the galley and accommodations live on the lower deck, allowing spacious seating options on the salon and through to the aft deck. Vicem took the opportunity while reworking the 65 Classic’s original design a downeast express-style yacht with high freeboard and traditional lines, this to increase the size of the already large light-gathering windows and portlights, particularly off the front and sides of the saloon. The former greatly improves the visibility from the helm while the latter provides natural light to all living areas of the boat. In addition to featuring three staterooms, two with ensuite heads, and plenty of stowage for longer trips, the 65 Classic offers a solution to suit any owner’s cruising lifestyle. Like others before it, the 65 Classic can also be ordered with a flying bridge as pictured in the rendering above.

Project: Delta 21m

Newport-based MCM has been appointed as owner’s representative for a 21-metre express cruiser to be built by custom shipyard Delta Marine in Seattle. The Express Cruiser designed by Doug Zurn of Zurn Yacht Design for an experienced client will be powered by twin Volvo 1000hp with IPS pod drives with Dynamic Positioning System for a top speed up to 38 knots.  When going through the yard selection process, MCM looked at shipyards in the US, Europe and Australasia, but finally settled on Delta Marine as one of very few custom Superyacht yards left in the US. An added advantage was that Jack Jones, the company founder, had started out in the sixties as a composite builder of high-speed pleasure craft.  Yacht designer Doug Zurn in Massachusetts is well known for his classic New England style and the 21 meter traditional inspired down East express displays traditional exterior lines and an interior decor based on a contemporary take of raised and fielded mahogany wood joinery with white wainscoting details.  The classic styling, however, disguises a thoroughly modern and lightweight hull construction using infused epoxy, E-glass and Corecell/Airex for a displacement at half load of just over thirty tonnes. Comfort at anchor and under way are provided by Seakeeper gyro stabilisers and Humphree interceptors with active stabilization.  The owner will use his new yacht for cruising and fishing with family and friends, and to this end the aft deck has a modular design to fulfill both functions. Below deck there is accommodation for six guests in an ensuite owner’s cabin and two cabins with shared head.  The hull and deck tooling is currently underway at the shipyard and completion is envisaged for the second half of 2021.

Project: Palm Beach GT60

Hot on heels of the success and raving reviews of the GT50 Palm Beach is set to release one of the fastest and most fuel efficient motor yachts in the world with this GT60 project set to launch at the 2020 Miami boat show.  In 2019, Palm Beach launched the GT series coming from the vision of CEO Mark Richards for a high technology light weight build and highly efficient hull shape and propulsion, aimed at the buyer who appreciates a more contemporary design, accompanied with high speed, and fuel efficiency that provides a lower carbon footprint.  The GT range has quickly established itself as a new family under the Palm Beach brand, with a third model, the GT70 planned in the not too distant future.  The GT60 is set to cruise at a true 40 knots, at half load, and has much more in reserve for top speed. The first hull is still undergoing final testing so top speed is yet to be confirmed, though indications are showing the mid-forties.  The GT60 is constructed with a high-tech vacuum-infused carbon fiber deck and structure that delivers twice the strength of E-glass but at half the weight. A closed-cell foam core constitutes the main structure of the bulkheads, a high-tech method that further reduces weight while enhancing durability of the yacht. Palm Beach uses vinylester modified-epoxy resin for all its infusion, which is another tell-tale of the brand’s commitment to quality and durability in construction.  Thanks to the amazing new GT60, Palm Beach now has a 60 foot power boat with a four hundred nautical mile range at a cruising speed of 40 knots.  The GT50 and GT60 are designed to appeal to a global market, and are built with the painstaking attention to detail, and to the incredibly high quality standards that people have come to expect and trust in the Palm Beach brand.
