Project: Overmarine Mangusta 165 Rev

Overmarine present the project for the new revolutionary Mangusta 165 Rev.  The fifty metre flagship of the new Maxi Open Rev series, is a celebration of design and functionality, comfort and great performances, is now ready to cruise the seas leaving behind her unmistakable wake.  This is a project developed jointly by Overmarine's Engineering Department in collaboration with renowned designer Igor Lobanov, who designed the Mangusta 104 Rev which launched this 2021 year, and take over from Stefano Righini who designed the Open series up and before these two new models.  The 165 Rev stands out for her aggressive profile featuring rounded, curved shapes typical of Mangusta's iconic style. Her slender, dynamic lines draw inspiration, as the designer explains from 1930s sporty cars. This means classic, timeless beauty, which, however, on this model, goes hand in hand with dramatically scaled-up performances and a refreshed, renovated concept of lifestyle.  Key elements on the 165 Rev, just like on all Mangusta yachts, are the impressive onboard volumes, the comfort of en plein air areas, and the smooth, uninterrupted flow between the interiors and exteriors. On this fifty meter super sport yacht, the Owner can decide to experience life at sea in the utmost privacy or relax in one of the many convivial areas, enjoying his holiday surrounded by a different landscape every day and quickly moving from one destination to the next; for example, waking up in Portofino and sipping a cocktail in front of Costa Smeralda a few hours later.  One of the brand-new features on this yacht is the beach area: indeed, the aft door opens like the roof of a convertible sporty car, revealing a magnificent 36 square meters, fully-equipped lounge area on the sea. The side garage can fit a tender and two jet-skis, allowing guests to ride the waves whenever they feel like. On the sundeck is a large convivial space furnished with comfortable sofas and a bar located amidships, while the huge forward area offers the Owner and his guests a sunbathing area and an infinity pool, where they can indulge in pure relaxation. The interiors have been styled by Milan-based architecture firm M2 atelier using warm colour shades and implementing contemporary solutions aimed at making the most of natural light, which is the key element on this vessel. The floor-to-ceiling windows of the salon minimise the division between interiors and exteriors, and create a cosy, sophisticated atmosphere. The wonderful side foldable terraces, flawlessly integrated in the yacht profile, open up on breath taking views. In this way, the day area is flooded by the sun and surrounded by the sea, offering a unique immersive experience. The main salon features a pleasant sofa lounge set and a large dining area, which also includes a bright bar counter illuminated by three skylights that let through plenty of natural light. Also on the main deck is the airy master stateroom; a real open-space loft on two levels having as its core element the elongated side windows and ensuring maximum privacy to the Owner, who has also available a lounge area and an exclusive personal office. From there, access is gained to the night area with full-beam bathroom.  The lower deck has been entirely used for guest accommodation, and can be customised to offer a range of solutions with up to five cabins; four guest cabins plus a VIP suite or 4 cabins plus a media and lounge area or a gym.  Such impressive layout flexibility is matched by outstanding performance versatility, thanks to a propulsion system with four MTU 2600hp engines and with Kamewa waterjets propulsion, which push the yacht to an exhilarating maximum speed of 34 knots while limiting consumption. Veem gyro stabilizers ensure smooth, comfortable cruising event at low speeds and in all sea conditions, taking the vessel's range up to 650 miles.

Project: Tankoa T55 Sportiva

Tankoa has unveiled its new Linea Sportiva by Luca Dini in a live Zoom event. Conceived and designed to expand the market offering of the Genoa-based boutique brand, the first model in the dynamic series is the Sportiva 55 rated at under 500GT that falls between a larger and smaller version. Considerable real estate is devoted to the Beach Club, which is actually more of a main deck cockpit and comprises a swimming pool sunk into the terraced aft deck with access to a Spa zone on the lower deck complete with gym and sauna, as well as a side-loading garage for water toys. A novel highlight of the whole area is a large hull window that is partially underwater that can be enjoyed either under way or at anchor. The guest accommodation on the lower deck consists of four ensuite cabins, although a five cabins version has already been developed. The galley is also on the lower deck, while the crew accommodation is placed forward. The main deck layout is asymmetrical with a circular dining area connecting the open aft deck and main salon, but where the master stateroom begins it is full-beam to port with a walkway to starboard with a built-in chaise longue and Jacuzzi as well as a private sauna. Unusually, there is also a central staircase leading from the owner’s personal foredeck to the forward bridge deck which is designed to be used as an open-air cinema when at anchor. A 7-metre tender, crew tender and Sea-Doo are stowed on the open foredeck but are hidden from view by the bulwarks. This Suite on the Sea concept offers an innovative yet flexible layout solution that also helps to keep the gross tonnage at below 500GT. The bridge deck has a sky lounge, an extendable table for al fresco dining and lounging space on the aft deck. The sun deck is partially shaded by the hard top and features a wet bar by the forward hot tub and plenty of sun lounging space. ith a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the Sportiva 55 has a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. Her range at an economic speed of 12 knots is 3,800nm. Although the 55 is closest to the needs of Tankoa's current client base, the shipyard also asked Luca Dini to retain the same family feeling in a fast, 45-metre all-aluminium version and scale it up to a larger and more comfortable 65-metre proposal.

New Model: ISA Super Sportivo 100 GTO

ISA Super Sportivo 100ft GTO is the new silver colour arrow with a sporty design featuring a carbon fibre infused hull combined with a lightweight carbon superstructure.  Performance is certainly the main ingredient thanks to her three Man 2000hp engines and jet propulsion which, during the first sea trials reached a maximum speed of 55 knots. Therefore, this model becomes fully part of the worldwide fastest boats currently on the market in this category.  A legend that began a few years ago when Giuseppe Palumbo entrusted Marco Casali the development of the new ISA Super Sportivo line. A market niche for super speed enthusiasts that introduces in the history of ISA the use of jet propulsion on one of the shipyard’s best seller the 120t Sport and the 140t Sport.  The Owner of Aldabra immediately loved the lines and believed in the project. A top-level technical team led by Engineer Arnaboldi and specialized in performance boats worked to develop the water lines and aerodynamics. ISA Super Sportivo 100 GTO took shape at the Palumbo Superyachts shipyard, Ancona; Marco Casali from Too Design looked after both the exterior and the interior, liaising with the carbon fibre specialized staff of the site technical office. Once again, ISA Yachts confirms itself as an innovative and dynamic brand capable of facing increasingly exciting challenges.  The sleek lines are emphasized by the high deep-V shaped bow and by the profile that drops rapidly down to the stern. The deckhouse has a pronounced sheer line that perfectly matches the large double-curved front windows of 5 sqm each, divided by the gull-wing door to access the cockpit.  The boat performance is stylistically amplified by the big air intakes playing a dynamic role when positioned above the hard top.  Astern and forward the sizeable open surfaces make it a unique product in its category, while the large opening glass panels of the hard top still ensure maximum comfort even in the covered areas of the cockpit.  The great attention to the weight of this ISA Super Sportivo 100 GTO has led to the installation of innovative solutions in addition to lighter furniture, flooring and ceiling. Indeed, the deck flooring is in a special closed cell marine grade foam which, in addition to being light, is also very soft to the touch, easy to maintain, does not heat up under summer high temperatures and guarantees unmatched soundproofing.  On the starboard and port side of the cockpit we find two electric lift carbon tables serving as coffee or dining tables or as a large relaxation surface when covered with their cushions. Four Frau Donald armchairs, leather upholstered, complete the area.  The Furuno dashboard is central, ergonomic and perfectly integrates with the cockpit design.  The interior, available in several options from three to five guest cabins in addition to the two crew cabins accommodating four people with separate access from the cockpit, are totally customizable and characterized by a design aimed to maximise light and confer an iconic architecture on spaces.  Hull One of the Super Sportivo 100 GTO M/Y Aldabra has 5 double cabins with private bathrooms. The full-beam owner cabin is located amidships and has a double bathroom with a central pass-through shower.  The cockpit and lower deck finishes are in leather, carbon and steel to enhance the modern, clean and essential style of the whole project. Great attention has been paid to the light design using integrated LED strips to highlight specific details.  A four metre tender is housed in the aft garage and can be hauled launched through a tender slide system with a winch. ISA Super Sportivo 100 GTO is also equipped with a transformer and a Seakeeper 35 for maximum comfort on board.

New Model: Overmarine Mangusta 104 Rev

The first hull of the Mangusta 104 Rev, the innovative model representing the new era of Mangusta Maxi Open Line of super sport yachts, was launched the morning of 28th May. This is a super sport yacht that made the news even before hitting the water; indeed, the 104 Rev was moved to the launch venue at night, driving through the narrow streets of Viareggio and stirring the curiosity of many locals, who thus had the privilege of getting a preview of the first hull in the new Open line.  The Mangusta 104 Rev is a revolutionary yacht, currently the entry level in the iconic Maxi Open range, in which Overmarine has been an undisputed leader for over 35 years, with more than three hundred yachts built in this timespan. Thanks to the joint work of the Group’s Engineering Department and designer Igor Lobanov, this vessel’s sporty and slender lines preserve the Mangusta DNA, but reinterpret it in a modern key.  Hull one has been sold to an American client, who was charmed by the new Maxi Open range; a success proving that the American market is increasingly thriving and keeps an eye on the innovations introduced in the Mangusta fleet. All Group lines including the latest models, are now represented overseas.  Other distinctive elements on this cruiser are the wide glass surfaces flawlessly integrated in her powerfully aggressive profile; a true engineering masterpiece. These see-through surfaces result in outstanding visibility while also allowing the vessel to be classified in the BV and MCA classes for commercial registration.  Light pervades all interiors, not only on the main deck; where the cosy, sophisticated salon is surrounded by ceiling-high windows but also on the lower deck, which can accommodate up to ten guests in four cabins; full-beam master stateroom, a VIP cabin, and two guest cabins.  As is the case on each and every Mangusta yacht, the exteriors and interiors form a smooth, harmonious continuum, maximising the concept of lifestyle meant as an unforgettable onboard life experience. The owners and their guests will be able to enjoy maximum relaxation and privacy in the many areas available onboard, including among others the comfortable sunbathing area, located forward, and the sundeck, which is seamlessly integrated in the profile and unravels around the radar arch, resulting in an essential, assertive look. The sundeck consists of a relaxation area furnished with a comfy U-shaped sofa and the second pilot station.  The aft cockpit door opens completely, connecting the salon to the exteriors to create a dining area where guests can indulge in pleasant convivial moments. Hidden behind the stylish aft door, the garage can fit a tender up to five metres and a 3-seat jet-ski.  The Mangusta 104 Rev comes with twin MTU with waterjet propulsion, pushing her to a maximum speed of 35 knots, noiselessly and without the slightest vibrations. At the cruising speed of 25 knots, the yacht can boast a range of 370 nautical miles. Seakeeper gyro stabilizers allow her to deliver impressive performances and comfort both when cruising, even in choppy seas, and at anchor.  Hull one is to be delivered to her owner by the end of July. The next, available for sale, is scheduled for delivery in summer 2022.

Following in the wake of the award-winning first unit in the Otam Custom Range the 35m Gipsy, designed by Tommaso Spadolini, , the Ligurian shipyard now present another fully engineered 115-foot proposal. However, the only thing the two projects have in common is their length overall, with this new design arriving as one of the fastest alloy super sport yachts on the water capable of reaching 44 knots.  The exterior lines by BG Design Firm, the same studio behind the new Otam 70 HT, are inspired by the aeronautical and automotive worlds to reflect the brand’s racy DNA. Design details include the chromed ventilation vents in the transom and the air inlet on top of the hardtop.  The deep-V hull has been developed by Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design to provide excellent seakeeping, comfortable entry into waves and high speeds. Extensive Finite Element Analysis nsures a rigid hull that is not prone to flexing or twisting, while Computional Fluid Dynamics serve to optimize performance and handling at sea.  Clients can choose between a 3-engine configuration with MTU 2600hp engines and a KaMeWa waterjet central booster for a top speed of 44 knots and a cruise of 32, or twin units of the same engines for a top speed of 35 knots, cruising at 28.  The four stateroom standard layout comprises an airy, open-plan salon and dining area behind the wheelhouse on the main deck where the extensive glazing is designed to provide panoramic sea views, even when seated. Baglietto announces the signature of a new order for a 41m Superfact yacht designed by Francesco Paszkowski.  Superfast 41 will be Baglietto's hull no. 10242, who can celebrate yet another achievement, just after the sale of the second DOM 133, revealed recently.  41n Superfast will be an aluminium build fast open super sport yacht, with both interiors and exteriors designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design.  The yacht features a bold, streamlined profile, with the champagne shade of the hull making her beauty even more striking. All cabins have been arranged on the lower deck: the master cabin is located amidships, the VIP cabin also a double can be found forward, while the two guest cabins have single beds that can easily slide and be converted into double beds. On the same deck, closer to the stern, are the crew quarters. Located beside the engine room and conveniently accessible directly from the main deck, they include the captain’s cabin and two double cabins for the crew, as well as the galley with dinette. The aft garage, which opens on one side, is used to store a tender.  The main deck has been devised in such a way as to ensure a harmonious continuum between interior and exterior areas. Two sliding doors, one located aft and the other on a side, provide access to the dining area and to the conversation area of the main salon. The latter is brightened by the natural light flowing through two ceiling-high windows, which also ensure a wonderfully close contact with the sea even when living indoors. The pilot station can be found forward of the main salon. The outdoor aft cockpit hosts a lounge area, while the sunbathing area on the aft swimming platform is perfect to relax by the sea. Another sunbathing area and a second conversation area have been set up at the extreme bow of this modern, impressively functional yacht.  A second pilot station, with a pleasant relaxation area just behind it, can be found on the fly bridge.  Fitted with three MTU engines, 41m Superfast will reach an impressive maximum speed of 33 knots and a cruising speed of 28.  She will be classified with ABS and is expected to be delivered in 2023.

Project: Austin Parker 85 Ibiza

In the rebranding process, which began in 2020, Austin Parker Yachts, after the launch and sale of Ibiza 44 WA, 52 WA and Mahon 54 MY models, started the production of a superior class yacht, the Ibiza 85. This project flagship of Austin Parker is a 27-meter sporty style yacht, that encompasses class, distinctive style and innovative solutions with a fully custom design and technological proposals never used before on a boat of this size.  The yacht, of which the first unit has been sold, is in an advanced stage of construction, with launch scheduled for next June.  The close partnership with the Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, who designs the entire Austin Parker line, has created a yacht that encompasses both the wishes of the owner and the requests of the Shipyard, proposing an out of the ordinary layout, not only for the design and partitioning of spaces but also for the technical solutions adopted on board.  The layout suggested by the design lines is streamlined, elegant and sporty and does not let you imagine the enormous spaces that have been created in the cockpit, deckhouse and above all below deck.  Unlike other sports yachts, dedicated exclusively to young customers, the Ibiza 85, thanks to the technical solutions adopted on board, is also the ideal boat for more mature owners.  The first striking feature is the possibility of transforming the freedom created by the total opening of the saloon, in continuity with the huge cockpit that measures 15 meters in length, between the helm station and the bathing platform, into a "sedan", simply operating with electric controls and hydraulic movement: two side windows and the large glass door at the stern that closes and protects the saloon, emerging from the "retractable" position.  The cockpit is equipped with a sundeck, under which there is the hangar that houses the tender and other accessories, as well as a dining area with a central table and ten seats.  Under the streamlined hard-top, sofas and furniture equipped to serve the dining area and equipped with refrigerators and freezers.  The helm station, as befits a yacht of these high standards, has two pairs of seats, all independent, to accommodate the pilot, co-pilot and two guests in comfort and safety, considering the acceleration and performance that are achieved.  The bow is accessed through comfortable and safe protected passages, walk-arounds, on the same floor as the saloon, to best access a large area equipped with a "U" shaped sofa, two convertible tables, sundecks and four facing chaise lounges.  A beam of 7 meters, combined with a length of over-all of 27 meters of the super sport yacht, made it possible to satisfy the owner's requests to obtain five independent cabins; three double, two twins, each equipped with bathroom and shower, a large kitchen and three crew quarters, completely separate and equipped with independent services, enhancing endless possibilities of the custom construction.  As a true super sport yacht, the Ibiza 85 is equipped with two latest generation 2000hp Man engines and Arneson surface transmissions which gives an estimated cruising speed between 38 and 40 knots with a maximum of 45.

New Model: Dynamiq GT 135

After 24 months of engineering and construction, the very first 41-metre Dynamiq GTT 135 Stefania is ready for launch at the company’s shipyard in Massa, Tuscany.  The full-aluminium superyacht features a Fast Displacement hull by leading Dutch naval architects Van Oossanen and exterior design by Monaco-based studio Dobroserdov Design. The sophisticated exterior design is modern and elegant and based on an exclusive colour palette of metallic gold and dark brown.  Stefania’s efficient hull has a round-bilge shape for remarkably low resistance and low fuel consumption while still being capable of high speeds. She is equipped with twin Man 1650hp engines for a maximum speed of 20 knots with an ocean-going range of 3,500 miles at cruising speed, which means owners have the opportunity to enjoy two seasons during the year, Mediterranean and Caribbean and greater freedom when navigating remote locations with no bunkering infrastructure.  The yacht also has a shallow draft of 1.8 metres for cruising the remote cays and shoal waters of the Bahamas, for example. The oversized sundeck of 120m2 divided into two different zones includes a jacuzzi forward and two 75-inch TV screens and a bar unit for enjoying the panoramic views in style.  The oversized main deck aft pool has a capacity of 4,500 litres and together with the open-air beach club area with a second bar allows owners and guests to enjoy the en plein air lifestyle close to the sea. Another important luxury is the 2.2-metre ceiling heights throughout the interior. The spacious 5-cabin layout on the lower deck ensures motion comfort on board for all the guests.  Among other stand-out design features is the real fireplace in the main salon, a centrepiece that adds a cosy touch when cruising early or later in the season when the evenings can be a bit chilly. Dynamiq also joined forces with German VIP car outfitter Klassen to develop the special “Wheelhouse by Klassen", which comes with the same quality and style of Klassen VIP shuttle vans with sporty trim and high-end finishes.   Dynamiq GTT 135 is safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly in accordance with the strictest RINA Commercial Class standards, prestigious Comfort and Green Star Plus notations, and regulatory compliance and manning standards.

New Model: Alia 27m Atlantico

It is well established that a chase boat must complement the mothership, but Turkey’s Alia Yachts has gone one step further. In delivering the 27m Atlantico, Alia has managed to extend the larger boat by providing a platform that fully matches it in terms of look, quality and function. The complex project fused naval architecture from Lateral with Alia’s shipbuilding know-how, which extended to every element of the interior furnishing.  Build captain and skipper Tolga Han refers candidly to the challenges involved in such an interesting and unique design. First up, the hull needed to be capable of high speeds, so it was designed with a broad beam of 8.35m and three of Volvo’s most powerful 1000hp engines. This makes it possible for Atlantico to plane despite her size. It also gives her responsive handling and a very sea-kindly motion, even in heavy seas. Besides the stability the broad hull imparts under way, two Seakeeper 26 gyro stabilizers keep her steady at rest.  Naturally, the exterior look of the boat reflects that of the 55m mothership, Atlante. She is an aggressive explorer-type yacht, and her distinguished owner therefore required an equally capable looking chase boat. The aluminium hull shares a lighter shade of Atlante’s grey DuPont metallic topcoat system, and features similar circular windows. The angular deckhouse surmounted by a military-looking mast also echoes the mothership. With a light-caulked teak deck, pale-coloured sofas and sun pads and dark, glossy columns in the deckhouse, Atlantico subtly reinterprets the feel of the mothership. But there is no mistaking the serious intent of this 27m yacht. The blend of cool and comfort continues below, where there are two impressive double cabins with large freestanding beds. Gloss white walls contrast firmly with the dark, lavish wood of furniture and bulkhead panelling, all cleverly lit by indirect light. Small details strike you, such as the multiplicity of storage, hidden behind tessellating wooden panels with flush opening mechanisms.  There are all the amenities required of a large yacht, with two sophisticated shower rooms and a very capable crew galley aft, together with accommodation for up to four crew.

Project: Heesen 60m Project Skyfall

Heesen is delighted to share that the construction of Project SkyFall officially began on October 1 at the shipyard in Oss.  The owner’s representative laid a 450 BC Greek coin on the keel to commemorate the start of the build of this unique yacht, which will be tailored in every detail to suit the owner’s lifestyle.  As a discerning yachtsman with a passion for speed, Skyfall’s owner has long been aware of Heesen’s high-performance heritage, with pioneering fast-yacht projects such as Octopussy making the Dutch shipyard the natural port of call for this ambitious project. It will be the shipyard’s most powerful yacht to date. Using waterjet propulsion on a sportsfishing-oriented superyacht truly resonates with the company DNA.  Dutch designer Frank Laupman of Omega Architects penned the striking profile of this 60-metre motor yacht. An aggressive paint scheme exudes power and speed.  SkyFall will harness 22,000 hp from four MTU engines, driving four Kongsberg waterjets. The outer engines, compliant with the latest Tier III environmental regulations, drive steerable jets, while the centre engines operate fixed units. With less back pressure and a slightly higher power output, the centre engines will be used solely for high speeds. Waterjet drives lower the yacht’s draught to less than three metres and reduce vibration by 40 per cent compared with traditional shafts and propellers.  Thanks to its lightweight aluminium Fast Displacement Hull Form, complete with course fins and interceptor trim plates, SkyFall will reach an extraordinary top speed of 37 knots in light load conditions. Her efficient FDHF hull will also deliver a much smoother, flatter ride compared to a conventional semi-displacement shape, while its extra volume offers plenty of space for equipment and amenities. Three gyro-stabilisers will keep the yacht comfortable at low speeds.  Four suites on the lower deck will accommodate up to ten guests, while the owner has reserved the entire aft section of the bridge deck, with a large aft-facing suite opening onto a private terrace, complete with whirlpool spa and a relaxing seating area.  The main deck features a conversation area and alfresco dining on the aft terrace. Large sliding doors connect the outside with the indoor seating area and a large bar amidships. An elegant formal dining table seats up to twelve guests. Further forward, a media room features a cinema and a games table.  With tenders and a wide range of water toys conveniently stowed in the tender garage, the lazarette in the stern is fitted out as a luxurious beach club, with a wellness area, a ‘fishing cave’ with stowage for 40 rods, and a multi-tiered swim deck.  YN 19959, Project SkyFall, is due for delivery in 2023.

New Model: Overmarine Mangusta Gransport 33

The first vessel in Overmarine Group’s new Mangusta GranSport 33 series was launched in the last week of July and performed sea trials.  While being the entry level in the Mangusta GranSport line, this vessel, pencilled by Alberto Mancini in cooperation with Overmarine Group’s technical departments can offer spacious volumes and technical details that can normally be found on larger yachts. She can surely be defined as a 33-meter yacht with the heart and soul of a true mega yacht.  The Mangusta GranSport 33 is a sporty and yet extremely comfortable vessel, boasting timeless elegance and a very strong personality. She perfectly combines style and technical solutions, the utmost expression of this flawless blend being her outstanding performances and unmatched efficiency. The same design style harmoniously unravels across both the exteriors and the interiors, turning every inch of the yacht into a pleasant, functional space.  Overmarine Group’s Interiors Department has worked side by side with the designer Mancini and the Owner to select the perfect furniture, furnishings and décor. The final outcome is a stylish, but also extremely functional yacht, just what her American Owner had asked for.  Stepping aboard, one can only be impressed by this vessel’s huge volumes at 228 Gross Tonnage, she is definitely among the best in her class. At the stern, a large cockpit fitted with a dining table and a bar area welcomes the guests on board. Indoors, the main deck comprises an airy saloon brightened by ceiling-high windows, two of which can be opened to ensure natural ventilation. The galley is adjacent to the saloon for fast and easy service.  Further on the main deck, at the bow, is the 40 sq. m. master cabin, which offers the Owner airiness, comfort, and incredible brightness. The entire lower deck accommodates the 4 guest cabins, which can be arranged in different layouts and solutions, depending on the Owner’s wishes and taste.  The 56 sqm flybridge can come in different versions, open or enclosed. On this first unit, the Owner has chosen the enclosed option, so as to obtain a real sky lounge with an indoor TV room – an innovative, interesting solution. The outdoor area is extremely enjoyable, thanks to a sunbathing area and a Jacuzzi with bar, allowing the Owner and his guests to spend blissful moments of relaxation while enjoying utter privacy and total freedom of movement.  From the flybridge, access can easily be gained to the bow, another convivial area, located forward on the same level and featuring a pool with hydro-massage and sunbathing area, completed by a lounge area with a sofa and a table.  The 28 sqm garage can fit a 5.65 m tender and two water-skis, delivering an incredible storage capacity that makes this model one of the best in class. The aft platform can be extended to become a spacious living area by the sea.  The Mangusta GranSport 33 can rely on a propulsion package featuring four Volvo 1000hp with IPS propulsion engines that can push her to a maximum speed of 26 knots while ensuring reduced consumption against vessels of the same size with traditional propulsion systems, and maximum comfort thanks to extremely low vibrations and impressive noiselessness. Other distinctive technical features on this yacht are her excellent manoeuvrability, enhanced by the Joystick Docking system, the dynamic positioning system allowing to keep the craft stable in one position, and the electrical stabilising fins. Her very limited draft of under two meters, means she can comfortably cruise even in very shallow waters, makes this yacht ideal, for instance, in the Bahamas in winter or the Hamptons in the summer.
The other two models in the Mangusta GranSport line, the 54 and 45 are also going to be delivered also during the summer.

Project: AB Yachts AB 80

AB Yachts present the new AB 80 project, a 24 meter super sport yacht designed by Gruppo Fipa together with Acube Design from Tuscany, a rather new design firm founded by Alessio Benassini and Alessio Merciadri in 2014.  The AB 80 captures important stylistic theme of the Italian boat builder, see curved fins on top of the hard top, and sea water jets propulsion as all AB Yachts models from 50 up to 145 produced thus far.  The AB 80 will feature an accommodation layout of four double guest cabins, with space for two crew in a cabin.  As the choice of jet propulsion makes one understand, performance and power have been always very important themes to AB Yachts, and the AB 80 hull one which is under going final sea trials and delivery tests as this post is out, fits in line with the high standards the Viareggio sport yacht builder is known for. Powered by triple Man 2000hp with MJP water jets hull one of the AB 80 has reached top speeds up to 59 knots, which is five knots more then the estimated 55 knots from calculated simulations.  Impressive to say the least!

New Model: Riva 88 Folgore

Splendid and dazzling as its name implies, Riva 88 Folgore immediately won the hearts and minds of those who saw it cut through the waves.  The most eagerly awaited vessel by Riva enthusiasts was launched on Monday, 25th May in La Spezia, where the production facility dedicated to the 76-to-110-foot models is based.  It is the first launch of a new Riva model at the time of Covid-19 and celebrates the non-stop activity of all shipyards, confirming Ferretti Group in its role as a tenacious and solid builder of dreams and emotions.  Riva 88 Folgore, the project of which was presented in January, perfectly complied with the deadline set for the construction time.  The new exterior design philosophy displays lines and elements inspired by the automotive world, combining luxury and sportiness.   In a happy balance between past and present, it combines the use of innovative materials like carbon with traditional stylistic elements such as mahogany inlays and steel decorations.  In the perspective of a design proposal that combines aesthetics and functionality, Riva 88 Folgore offers the owner a completely redesigned stern concept, with the garage door that swings open and can be positioned in two ways: parallel to the waterline, to become a beach club, and immersed, to allow the launch and landing of the tender. The cockpit, on the other hand, is a large space of 22 squared meters that features a huge sofa area with table and also a bar unit with electrically opening marble top.  Another interesting element of style is the glass hardtop located on the superstructure, which opens up and can be tilted toward both the stern and bow, to let in fresh air during navigation or when at anchor.  The interiors have also been extensively renewed in style, created using precious materials such as wood, steel, marble and glass. They feature a number of particulars, including the option of three different layouts for the master cabin.  The sleeping area is completed by a VIP cabin at the bow and two double cabins, each with its own bathroom.  The area reserved to the galley remains separate, with a dedicated entrance to guarantee maximum service privacy.  Like all the Riva masterpieces of recent history, the 88 Folgore is the result of the collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the studio founded by Mauro Micheli along with Sergio Beretta, the Product Strategy Committee headed by engineer Piero Ferrari, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.

Project: Dynamiq GTM 90 Transformer

One of the rare yacht models that was due to be presented at this year’s Geneva Motor Show before the event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus was the Dynamiq GTM 90 developed in cooperation with Klassen, the exclusive car tuner from Germany. The fast and sporty, all-aluminium 27.5-metre yacht is designed not only to entertain, but also protect guests whatever the weather.  The GTM 90 hull lines were developed with Dynamiq's long-term partner Van Oossanen Naval Architects in the Netherlands, who created a super-efficient, hard chine hull that can achieve a top speed of over thirty knots with three relatively compact Volvo 1000hp engines and IPS pod propulsion. The sleek, sporty yacht has a very respectable range of 800nm when cruising at 17 knots.  The GTM 90 striking exterior styling owes much to automotive design with a superstructure that recalls the lines of some supercars. There is a sundeck with sunbed behind the radar mast accessed by an exterior staircase and a 3-seat sofa in the bow to enjoy the thrill of cruising at speed.  The rich and sophisticated interior features a forward salon and a bar/galley area overlooking the aft beach club, which can remain open on sunny days or be closed when the evenings turn chilly to create almost a winter garden effect. Fold-down bulwarks and sliding glass doors help increase natural ventilation. Head heights are a generous 2.20m throughout the main deck and Dynamiq provides another option of the main deck layout where salon and dining area are united to form a larger space for groups of up to 16 people.  There are four guest cabins on the lower deck, including a spacious master stateroom with a distinctive circular bed from the Bentley Home collection. A tribute to the Middle Eastern market is the owner’s bath, finished in fine onyx and equipped with a custom ham-mam for two people. The sophisticated interior design is by Giuseppina Arena, another Dynamiq partner.  The yacht can also carry an inflatable FunAir pool with a protective net for guests nervous of swimming in open water.  The first edition of the GTM 90 is developed in collaboration with Klassen that supplies the world business and political elite, including ten national presidents with ultra-luxury vans and limousines. The yacht’s interior decor mirrors the design features of exclusive Klassen cars with different upholstery, rich wood paneling and elegant LED courtesy lights. Klassen is also responsible for the wheelhouse design and manufacturing and interior and exterior detailing, including leather supply, stitching and other special automotive design features.

New Model: Mazu 82

The first Mazu 82 has been launched and completed her sea trial in time for delivery to her proud owner. Built of a lightweight carbon composite, the Mazu 82 combines a clean profile, expansive decks and large hull windows with the outstanding performance, efficiency and handling.  The celebrated Turkish designer Tanju Özelgin created the interior layout and design of the Mazu 82. Working closely with the shipyard, Özelgin optimized the generous volume and large hull windows, combining subtle textures, muted colors, and both direct and indirect light to create a vibe of understated elegance.  The end result is an interior design that perfectly complements the edgy exterior styling of the Mazu 82, designed in-house by the shipyard’s founder, Halit Yukay.  Tanju Özelgin is a designer renowned for its ability to transmit meaning in design through subtle and abstract uses of form, symbol and material. He is widely recognized for his distinct style that is contemporary and abstract yet deeply aware of the fundamentals of human nature and environment.  A major challenge for all yacht designers and builders is to draw in as much natural light as possible into the interior. In this regard, the Mazu 82 boasts very large deck house windows and strip glazing in the hull. In particular, the sliding sunroof, custom-made by OPAC in Italy, and nine squared meters windshield of ultra-clear laminated and tempered glass, lend the interior an airy, loft-like feel.  Artificial lighting is just as important as natural illumination and has to be both functional and atmospheric. For this reason, a bespoke lighting system was developed for the Mazu 82.  To create a chic yet warm and inviting feeling, walnut and leather has been used for the furniture exclusively built by Mazu, while the walls are decorated with metallic finishes and teak paneling that has been textured and stained grey. The textiles and carpets were specially designed for the boat, as were the doors made of bronzed tempered glass and the stainless steel hardware that has been treated using thin-film deposit (PVD) techniques in the same bronze hue.  The yacht is fitted with a state-of-the-art audio system (JL Audio for the exterior and Dali for the interior), which meant that close attention was paid to noise damping. Leather and Alcantara cladding and upholstery throughout help to mute unwanted sound.  The wet surfaces are of a special synthetic material that has a soft leather-like finish, while the bathroom faucets and accessories are by luxury hardware brand Gessi. The high-end galley equipment was supplied by Gaggenau.

New Model: Azimut S8

2019 is an important year for Azimut as for the famous Italian marquee this represented an evolutionary process, with new head designer Alberto Mancini taking over design duties from the since 1992 Stefano Righini.  The Mancini Azimut revolution started at a fast pace presenting three new models at Cannes boat show; the Grande S10, 78 Flybridge, and the S8 announced only one week prior to the important South of France festival.  The S8 brings Mancini design sophistication, adding a new ingredient to the clean Azimut Righini lines.  With the Azimut S8 Mancini emphasizes the Italian straight horizon lines with fat bulwarks giving a distinctive fore to aft flow.  Interior the Azimut S8 continues the collaboration with Francesco Guida who mixes white, and grey colors as his usual in a unique modern style.  Accommodation the Azimut S8 offers four double guest cabins all with private en-suite shower heads.  A crew area with two cabins and a shower head is located midships in between the engine room and the owners stateroom.  The Azimut S8 is powered by triple Volvo 1000hp engines, with IPS pod propulsion.  This is the sixth Azimut to go the triple Volvo IPS propulsion route after the 55S launched with this set up paved the way from 2012 onwards.

Project: Overmarine Mangusta Sport 104

Building on the legendary Maxi Open series, Overmarine today unveiled the Mangusta Sport 104, the first yacht designed by designer Igor Lobanov for the Viareggio Italian yacht builder, who takes over from Righini who till what I know always designed the models of the brand, from its founding in mid eighties as up till today with the exception of the Oceano and Gransport range.  This new Lobanov course in the Sport 104 embodies every important innovation from Mangusta’s thirty years of excellence in developing fast and comfortable Maxi Open yachts, which have become some of the most iconic models on the market. Most of which have sold beyond what anyone thought it was possible.  The Mangusta Sport 104 epitomizes the speed, comfort, and elegant aesthetics of the iconic Maxi Opens, keeping intact their family feeling. Yet the Mangusta Sport 104 is also a totally new boat that reinterprets key performance and lifestyle characteristics.  The most striking styling change comes in the bulwark design, where wide windows, smartly connected by the designer, let plenty of natural light come into the master and guest cabins. The frame design is truly a feat of engineering, as it ensures outstanding visibility through the large windows, while also allowing the yacht to be built to BV Class and to MCA code for commercial registration.  The boat’s rear can boast a brand-new design of the garage door, which emphasizes the yacht’s aggressive profile and allows it to fit a tender up to five meters in length and a three-seat jet ski. The other highlight of the rear section is the integrated sundeck, which wraps around the radar arch, giving this area a clean yet aggressive look.  Interiors have also been thoughtfully designed for long, comfortable, Med-crossing cruising and with features that flood all areas with natural light. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the main salon create a sophisticated yet livable environment that can be arranged in many different layouts according to the owner’s desire.  Owners will love the uninterrupted dialogue between interiors and outdoors. The Mangusta Sport 104 offers an advanced infotainment system, ambient lighting, and an electro-chromic glass roof, all easily controlled by individual remote controllers.  The brand-new design of the dashboards, sundeck and main helm in main deck features a latest-generation navigation, monitoring and operating Interface.  The Mangusta Sport 104 is to be twin MTU 2600hp powered with Kamewa water jets propulsion, with speeds up to 35 knots being estimated.  The Sport 104 will also feature a new hull design, which sum the experiences gained of over three hundred units built with this set up by Overmarine.
