Project: Viking 68 Enclosed Bridge

Viking has been the pioneer in the design and development of the enclosed bridge for decades, and the latest example is its new 68 EB.  Captains and owners appreciate being comfortably out of the weather in the climate-controlled command center of the enclosed bridge boats. The wraparound windshield provides excellent visibility in all directions.  Viking enclosed bridges are large enough to hold a luxurious second salon. The enclosed bridge option is a big Viking trademark offered into its sportfishing boats from 62 to 92 feet and the three 75, 82 and 93 motor yachts.  The 68 Enclosed Bridge will follow the introduction of the Viking 68 Convertible, an open bridge model in a Shimmering Blue that will make its world premiere at the Miami Yacht Show on February.  The open and enclosed bridge models of the 68 Convertible share the same four-stateroom, four-head layout. Notice that the crew quarters are discretely located, accessed via a separate set of steps off the companionway.

Project: Viking 68 Convertible

Viking continues its dominance of the sportfishing yacht industry with the introduction of the Viking 68 Convertible, a four-stateroom blue-water convertible with unmatched performance, bulletproof construction, luxury interior accommodations, advanced propulsion, and boat-control technologies.  The 68 Convertible is designed and engineered to function equally as well as a tournament-ready offshore runner and a cruising yacht with all the conveniences and technology that you’ve come to expect from Viking.  The optional Seakeeper gyro stabilizer heightens the level of comfort during both fishing and cruising activities. Anglers do battle in a 12 square meters cockpit, while guests can watch from an air-conditioned observation mezzanine.  Running on Viking’s proven hull shape with a 12.1-degree transom dead-rise, this beautiful battle wagon delivers a soft ride in rough seas, with a 35-knot cruising speed and a top end approaching 40 knots. An aggressively raked stem, gently sloping sheer, swept-back black-masked windshield and flying bridge brow present a powerful yet elegant picture.  Official launching date and presentation for the 68 Convertible is for early 2018 for the Miami boat show.

Project: Bayliss Gameboat 62

Can you ever turn boat building upside down.  Literally speaking no, but Bayliss aims to intrigue its customers, with the new offered on plan Gameboat line.  The Bayliss Gameboat is as usual from the Wanchese North Carolina boat builder a custom build to order sportfish yacht, with the main difference that design specifics are prepared beforehand and presents itself as a raw fully Sportfishing dedicated yacht, geared first to sportfish and to offer luxury amenities later.  Following the launch of the Gameboat 60, Bayliss has followed the first unit with a second 62 model currently in build.  The Bayliss Gameboat 62 compared to the first 60 unit features a more refined interior offering a three cabins plus a tackle room lower deck layout.  Power for the Bayliss Gameboat 62 will be by twin MTU 1925hp.

New Model: Bayliss GameBoat 60

The first GameBoat built by Bayliss Boatworks was delivered to her owners in October 2017.  The Bayliss GameBoat concept was created, simply and directly, to chase fish; it is everything you need, and nothing you don’t. The GameBoat is not a charter boat, nor a production boat. As far as construction, fit, and finish, the GameBoat is no different than Bayliss Boatworks other builds. This is a high-quality, custom-built concept with a confined group of layouts for the owner whose main priority is fishing. By design, these boats have a simple interior layout, and include a concentration on rod and tackle storage, fishing efficiency, low maintenance, and speed.  The Bayliss GameBoat number one was named Mama C and is the product of over 30,000 man-hours and nearly 16 months of labor; she will be spending much of her time at southern latitudes, chasing sailfish.  Bayliss GameBoat 60 profile is unique with no front mask or tower; fishing efficiency and low maintenance are her main priorities. Her Matterhorn White hull pairs effortlessly with her custom blue bottom paint and boot stripe. A faux teak toe rail and half round adds pristine detail to the topside.  The flybridge layout draws from the classic center console style, complete with a faux teak helm pod, full electronics and plenty of storage. Bench seating is built-in on both port and starboard sides, in addition to seating forward of the console. Built-in teaser reels nest above the helm in the bridge hardtop.  The cockpit is adequately stocked with custom refrigeration boxes, plenty of tackle storage, and a large ice bin. The teak deck, cover boards, coming and built-in transom fish box complete the functionality of Mama C’s cockpit.  Bayliss GameBoat 60 interior lacks no detail or functionality. Synthetic flooring keeps with the minimalist maintenance program, and is installed throughout the galley and salon. Every cabinet is faced with horizontally laid sawn grain teak veneer. The galley is clad with quart-zite counter-tops, and fully equipped with a Viking microwave, two-burner Wolf induction cook-top, and two Subzero double-drawer refrigerators. Copious amounts of storage throughout the galley and in the dash make for a travel-ready boat.  Down below, her two stateroom/two head (with tackle room) layout ensures plentiful accommodations; each stateroom features two extra-large bunks and a central companionway.  Above each bunk is a custom cabby for electronics storage and charging, while vast tackle storage is built-in under each bunk. In the forward stateroom, the carpet lifts to reveal covert in-deck storage in the machine tunnel, intended for additional provisioning on longer fishing trips.  Both heads, one forward of the galley, and one forward of the forward stateroom, boast quart-zite counter-tops and sturdy, attractive fixtures. The second day head, located just aft of the galley, ensures easy and quick access during a busy fishing day.  A custom-designed tackle room, complete with a reel locker, perfectly fits the fishing storage needs of the GameBoat 60 owners. The neighboring full-size chest freezer ensures a well-stocked fishing program that is equipped to travel. Bayliss GameBoat 60 is a swift mover, with a top speed of 44 knots, and her cruise can range from an easy 32 knots up to 38 knots.  Bayliss GameBoat 60 is also equipped with a Seakeeper 9.

Improve-it = Bayliss 64 B20

Bayliss continue to amaze with each new build and having recently splashed a ninety feet super flagship returns to the size which made it popular of around twenty meters length.  Bayliss has launched ten units around this sixty feet size. This just splashed B20 is a sister ship to B10 launched in 2008 for design.  But the similarities stop there since both of the units are fully custom build, no mold but in the jig method, of wood fiberglass and epoxy.  Both B10 and B20 feature a three stateroom interior.  A technical difference comes from the advance in engines.  B20 is powered by twin Man 1800hp versus the Cats 1650hp of B10, giving the newer unit a 42 knots top speed and a fast cruise up to 35 knots.

Project: Bertram 58

What a better way to return a legend then to bring back modern versions of the models which made it become so. The new Bertram way seems set to go exactly into this direction, decades later.  Designed as the currently in build 35, by World famous deep-V specialist Micheal Peters the new 58 is homage to the eighties 54.  Delivered in over fifty units in a production run over ten years, the 54 is a legend to behold not only for its sales number but also for the sea keeping its Dave Napier designed modified V-shape hull delivered.  To say it short the 54 was Bertram second most important model ever made behind the 31.  It is also a model which championed the fifty plus feet sport-fisherman yacht to new owners. The Bertram 58 is still in infant project stages, what we know so far is that it will have a 40 knots performance, wrap around wind screen with full view, and hull one is expected to launch in late 2017.

New Model: Viking 52 Open

When Viking started the revamp of the 52 express series, it started with the design of the 52 Open.  Interesting though due to the advantage of the hard top SC and ST sister models, the original 52 Open is the last one to launch, of  a four model series including the Convertible.  None the less the 52 Open, is the most classic looking of the 52's, presenting itself as a pure express with a lot of classic flair going into it.  That large wrap around windscreen, and fore flash deck all say timeless looks.  Like the other 52's express the Open version is more or less identical, down below it will offer a two or three cabins version choice, and the raised helm deck presents itself with a central console, an L-shaped dinette to starboard, and an L-shape wet-bar to port.  Power options start from twin Man 1000 up to 1400hp units.
