Project: Whitehaven 6500 Coupe

Whitehaven present the project for the new 6500 Coupe, a model which is the 6100 series extended in hull length for 1.3 meters. This extra length capability was incorporated into the original hull design and the moulds were constructed to produce hull lengths from 18 meters to just over 19.5 meters. This extra length enables the 6500 models to include a full beam master bathroom behind the master bed which is an option often requested but which could not be incorporated into the 6100 models and still be in keeping with the application of traditional straight shaft propulsion systems. The 6500 Coupe otherwise share the same lower accommodation as the 6100 models with the addition of a full beam master bathroom further complimenting the owner’s stateroom. This provides the option to convert the third guest bathroom into a utility room with extra storage and refrigeration which is always very helpful. There are several options around main deck, saloon and cockpit designs however the main saloon area remains the same length as the 6100 with the extra 1.3 meters creating a longer and more spacious cockpit that can include several custom options for seating, bar areas, alfresco dining and BBQ locations. Surprisingly, the increase to the water line length creates for a more efficient operating vessel and even though there’s significantly more underwater surface area, it’s expected the additional efficiency of the longer 6500 hull to have zero impact on fuel consumption over the 6100 at long distance cruise speeds of up to twelve knots. In fact, there will be very little impact in litres per hour fuel burn at speeds up to eighteen knots. From a manufacturing perspective, sharing the same hull platform across two Whitehaven 6100 and 6500 models that delivers increased amenity over a longer and more efficient operating hull with a lower cost per foot to produce compared to its smaller sibling made good sense. The first Whitehaven 6500 Coupe will be completed in late 2023 and will be on display at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in 2024.

Project: Seanfinity T7HT

Seanfinity from South of Rome in Italy has been on the growing side of things and after launching its T4 and T5 models, present the project for a larger T7, a sport yacht of 21 meters.  Designed by Gianluca Caputi, a talented designer who was part owner and designer of the Italcraft revamp in the noughties, the Seanfinity T7 is semi custom project available in HT as pictured above with inboards surface drives, and or quadruple outboards Mercury 600hp.  Seanfinity and Caputi who apart the designer is also part owner, along with Vincenzo Tuccio of Top System surface drives fame is far giving little details, possibly also because this is a very semi custom project.  So far we can see that the Seanfinity T7 will have a transformative aft deck, with opening side balconies, which transform the aft into a massive beach bathing platform.

New Model: Sunseeker Superhawk 55

Sunseeker finally present the new Superhawk 55, a very much awaited model from one of Britain's favourite yacht brands which reportedly sold in twenty units before its debut in January 2022.  A creation envisioned by current Sunseeker CEO Andrea Frabetti, the Superhawk 55 is a departure to the previous eight to fifteen meter Hawks which have came since the 1987 launched 37 Tomahawk.  The Hawks had a common denominator, slim and fast, and fifty knots or more speeds with the large engine option.  This new Superhawk 55 breaks a few rules in the Hawk regulations book if there ever was one.  She is quite a fat boat sitting at just under five meters in beam, for comparison this makes her fatter to both the current Predator 55 and 60 Evo models.  Another is that she is not that super fast, by all accounts 38 knots wide open throttle is not slow, and if we look to the past over half of the 292 made 37 Tomahawks sold in its five year production where with twin Volvo 200hp diesel on stern drives, which had about the same top speed.  It was the same for the Hawk 34, and or the Superhawk 48/50, mostly sold with diesel power and speed in the high thirties.  Taking away all this and the name, the Superhawk 55 is a fantastic day yacht with Summer week or two cruising capabilities for two couples.  It is also a party yacht outside with a spacious wide body aft deck taking half the length revolving around a large central sun-pad, galley wet-bar, and two L-shaped lounge settee all sitting in a flush floored cockpit.  Conclusion is that the Superhawk 55, is a new departure for Sunseeker, and if successful might open the door for the British yacht builder for the creation of larger entertainment focused Hawks.

Project: Cayman S600

Presented as a project in 2020 as the S580, Cayman has since then evolved the project and renamed it as the S600.  But this was not just a name change and along the bathing platform extension Cayman also reworked all the window profiles, from those of the hull now larger to those of the upper structure, and also redesigned the air intake. On the the interior the Cayman S600 should be little if any different to the S580 with a three double cabins three head layout sleeping six with a full beam owners stateroom at midships.  A single berth crew cabin is to be located aft.  All the living, dining and galley is located on the main deck.  The Cayman S600 shares hull with the 2021 launched F580 flybridge model, and is to be powered by twin Man 800hp engines.  The first unit of the Cayman S600 is nearly completed with its World wide presentation scheduled for the Naples boat show in March.

Project: Sunseeker 75 Sport Yacht

Sunseeker present the project for a new 75 Sport Yacht set to be presented in a weeks time at the Dusseldorf 2023 boat show. A smoothed out evolution of the outgoing and replacing 74, the 75 Sport Yacht differences are noticeable in the air engine intakes and larger hull side windows.  The Sunseeker 75 Sport Yacht is to be the flagship of Sunseeker two model sport yacht range which starts with the 65 model which was presented in 2021.  Offering a three cabins layout with the option of a fourth cabin replacing the small dinette in the lower deck.  The main deck is fully reserved for relaxing and lounging and dining with an L-shaped galley located conveniently at the entrance of the lower deck.  A crew cabin with two L-shaped bunk berths with private head is located aft to port side.  A 3.85 meter tender garage is also located aft. Project: Wally Why100

The forward-thinking Wally has revealed the first details of the new model why100, a bold and unique product that successfully integrates into the WallyWhy range. The exterior design and naval architecture of the WallyWhy100 was created by the experienced Wally-Ferretti Group Engineering team, with Studio A. Vallicelli responsible for the interior design. As a crossover product, the yacht fulfils the need for a more voluminous cruiser in the sub 21 meter range, combining all of the qualities of a sport yacht coupé boat with the benefits of the WallyWhy volume. Much like the larger WallyWhy150 and Why200 models, the WallyWhy100 establishes a strong connection between the outside and inside. In contrast to many vessels of this size that divide the layout into different levels to create the illusion of more space, the Wally team doubled down on a one-level, stern-to-bow approach. This results in a hybrid area on the main deck level which can either be enjoyed closed or fully open to enable relaxed al-fresco dining. Other standout features on board include the enormous 14sqm beach area, which is home to a large hydraulic platform for launching and retrieving tenders and toys up to 3.6m in length. A hydraulic passarelle/swim ladder ensures easy access both to and from the dock as well as from the water. Naturally, the Wally beach area is completed by its enormous folding wings that not only increase the space by almost 50% but also deliver unobstructed 180-degree views. The full-beam master cabin is located at midships. The cabin’s ensuite is made from electrically regulated glass, meaning it can be either fully transparent to enlarge the room or opaque when in use, a first for a sub- 21 meter  yacht. In addition, the wide array of closet and storage also make this cabin unique in its class, with the side windows offering uninterrupted views of the outside. The theme continues throughout the other two guest cabins, with a total of six people accommodated on board. A VIP stateroom on the port side and a twin on the starboard side both have dedicated en-suites and large windows, enabling the rooms to be flooded by natural light. The crew are also well looked after on board the WallyWhy100. As a feature seldom seen in this size range, dedicated crew access is provided both from the main deck and from the lower deck, without having to cross into guest spaces. Notably too, taking its cue from the WallyPower world, the forward deck of the Why100 features a dedicated, multi-use lounge that can be transformed into an aperitivo area with an elevated table in the middle or into a sunlounge by lowering the table to seating height. This transformable area creates all-purpose living space for guests both at anchor and on the move. In terms of propulsion, Wally has opted for  twin Volvo 1000hp with IPS forward looking pod propulsion with cruising speeds of 24 knots and top speeds up to 27 knots in the upgraded IPS1350 specs.
