Improve-it = Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht

The Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht has been often said to be one of the prettiest Riviera yachts, and its Platinum Edition refinement under the perfectionist eyes of Mr Longhurst and the highly-regarded Riviera design team takes this popular yacht to another level.  Twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod drives are housed in the 6000’s cleanly laid-out engine-room, a place where artistic form meets functionality, and they simply purr when the vessel is underway. Delivering a smooth and quiet ride when cruising, the 6000 accelerates briskly to a very sporty top speed.  The main deck hard top is extended to enhance the sleekness, while also integrating an electric sunroof. Sitting below, it’s cosy, cocooned and comfortable. Step inside the saloon, and the galley is located to port, now featuring waterfall galley bench tops with stainless steel sinks and mixer tap.  Glass skylights richly illuminate the aft area of the saloon, and a radar arch allows the sunroof to slide beneath. Forward is a sunroof that, with the addition of side-opening windows and aft awning window, creates a seamless indoor/outdoor world.  The starboard-side lounge now sees a center seat base slide out to become an ottoman and includes a small fold-out timber table. The dining area lounge base is upholstered to give an opulent look and the seating in this area has been extended.  New-style Pompanette helm seats with Alcantara inserts and feature stitching are a glamorous feature of the helm station.  Moving below, you come to the atrium, a corridor filled with light to accentuate the crisp architectural look and feel. Accommodation layout options vary according to buyer preferences but include the option of a palatial “Presidential” master suite.  Throughout the yacht the list of refinements is subtle yet significant, showing considerable thought for the vessel’s overall user-friendliness.  For that final touch of Platinum, grey caulking is utilised in teak decks instead of the conventional black.  The highly efficient hull designs draw on both Volvo Penta and Riviera's extensive experience with the Inboard Propulsion System fitted to date to more than 700 Riviera vessels. From an engineering perspective, all Platinum Edition Sport Yachts have the ability to be gyro stabilized.

Riviera and Belize New Web Site

The biggest and most famous Australian boat builder updates it website to a new generation platform. Located in Coomera on the Queensland Gold Coast, Riviera was founded in 1980 and since then has built an important milestone of over five thousand boats, this number reached in November 2012. Rivera was founded by Terrey Hills and its first model was the 38 Mk.1 a flybridge motor cruiser. A year after to this in 1981 Rivera moves to Queensland and sells a total of eight boats.  In 1983 an important market opens to Rivera selling its first boat in the USA, and two years later to this the same thing is done in Europe.  In 1985 Rivera produces its first 52 model what will be its flagship largest build up until 2002 when Rivera produces the 58 Enclosed Flybridge. In 2005 Riviera also launches its first Sport Yacht model the 3600 a range which will be an important success for the down under builder. In 2008 Rivera launches its new 70 Flybridge flagship, a model which in 2012 will expand to the 75 Enclosed Flybridge, and in 2015 expand again to the 77 Enclosed Flybridge.  Also in 2012 Rivera presents its new SUV model series with the 445 a hybrid style boat drawing inspiration from sportfishers and the enclosed sport yacht series. Since its founding Riviera has had important ownership changes; with a management buyout in 2002, and Rodney Longhurst taking the reigns in 2013. Currently Riviera builds a total of fourteen models in five ranges; Enclosed Flybridge, Open Flybridge,  Sports Motor Yacht, Sport Yacht, and SUV which start with the 395 SUV, and go to the 72 Sports Motoryacht.  Belize is also part of Riviera since 2012 and this range builds four models; 54 and 66 Daybridge and Sedan.  The new 2018 Rivera models where the new 395 SUV and 395 Sports Motoryacht, while Belize also launched its new 66 Sedan flagship.  Rivera new web site takes you around with the following buttons; Models, The Riviera Experience, and Locate Your Representative. The 39 Sports Motor Yacht includes multiple entertainer spaces, a light and spacious saloon, open cockpit and extended flybridge that are emblematic of Riviera Sports Motor Yachts. The Riviera 39 Sports Motor Yacht is based on the same platform as the April 2018 launched 395 SUV, with the addition of a flybridge up top, and is also the third model to come in one year since the first Sports Motor Yacht model the 68 was launched.  The Riviera 39 Sports Motor Yacht will offer a five berth accommodation plan with a forward owners double berth forward, and a three berth cabin at midships.  The saloon will feature a C-shaped sofa dinette and an L-shaped galley to starboard.  Power will be from twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pod propulsion.

Project: Rivera 39 Sports Motor Yacht

During the Sanctuary Cove boat show and official launch of Riviera second in size small model, the 395 SUV, the down under boat builder revealed details for a new entry level flybridge the 39 Sports Motor Yacht.  This new Riviera takes smaller flybridge motor cruiser spot from the current 43 Open Flybridge, and by my understanding since it is vanished from the Riviera website it also replaces the 39 Open Flybridge project as presented in end Summer 2017 with the 395 SUV.   For the 39 Sports Motor Yacht, Riviera did not just change the name and some decals but also updated the flybridge design and layout to a more modern European layout of a forward helm station and L-shaped sitting dinette to port side, and wet bar and bench settee looking to the helm to starboard.   A wrap around fiberglass spoiler also fills more the flybridge making it more sporty.  For those who remember the layout of the 39 Open Flybridge project was of a more sportfish design with a back located twin settee helm station, and L-shaped dinette forward of the fly.  For the remaining fly and lower decks the Riviera 39 Sports Motor Yacht is the same as the Open Flybridge or the 395 SUV; with a living all located on the main deck; galley and sitting in the interior, and a twin cabin five berth lower deck layout.  Power will come from twin Volvo 435hp engines with IPS pod drives.

New Model: Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht

Riviera has delivered the first unit of the 72 Sports Motor Yacht.  The 72 is the second model of what Riviera calls the Sports Motor Yacht range, and follows the launching of the 68 premiered during the Sydney boat show in August 2017.  The Sports Motor Yacht range follows the recent philosophy of the down under renowned boat builder uniting various boating typologies into one, with looks inspired to sport-fishing boats see sheer line and cockpit design, and accommodation of a motor yacht. The 72 is the second model of the range and is identical to the 68 in all but the extended aft deck giving extra space in this area and to the mezzanine, and is recognizable by a sweeping stern design versus that of a square shape for the smaller model.  The 72 Sports Motor Yacht is Rivera's current second in size model behind the 2014 launched and since then produced 77 Enclosed Bridge.

Project: Riviera 395 SUV

During the 2017 Sydney boat show Riviera showcased two new entry level 39 feet projects for a 39 Open Flybridge and a 395 SUV model.  Both models share the same platform of hull and propulsion set up, with the difference that the 395 SUV presented here does not have a flybridge.  These new Riviera's have a lot going for them with a lower deck area offering two cabins sleeping five, a spacious shower head, and a main deck living area which unites with the aft cockpit area.  Power for the Riviera 395 SUV comes from twin Volvo 370hp with IPS pod propulsion.

Project: Riviera 39 Open Flybridge

During the Sydney boat show Riviera revealed details for two 39 foot project models set to launch in 2018.  Both new models will share the same hull, and are to be powered by twin Volvo 370hp engines IPS pod propulsion system.  The first model shown here is the 39 Open Flybridge which follows Riviera signature World famous home grown style of exterior looks.  The Rivera 39 Open Flybridge will offer two cabins sleeping five in total; owner cabin forward, and three berth midships cabin.  The two cabins will share a spacious shower head located to starboard in between the cabins.  Living is all located on the main deck which will have an L-shaped dinette and dual seat helm station to port side, and an L-shaped and relaxing couch to starboard.  The aft cockpit deck offers interesting open spaces which is joined by a mezzanine to port side equipped with a small cocktail table, and BBQ grill set up on the aft bulk head.  While not selling itself as a sport-fisherman, the aft helm station on the flybridge and free aft deck space  makes it easy to use the Riviera 39 Open Flybridge for fishing.

New Model: Riviera 68 Sports Motor Yacht

It's been a two year journey for this project to come into reality, and finally the Riviera 68 Sports Motor Yacht has arrived in all its glory.  It is an interesting and different offer from Riviera and yet the 68 Sports Motor Yacht embodies what the famous down under builder has been doing since about a decade when it launched the 3600 Sport Yacht, hybridizing various yacht styles into a practical design.  This new 68 Sports Motor Yacht takes hybridizing yacht styles to a new level, and yet it all seem to work so good both on the aesthetic point of view and the practical.

Project: Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht

For 2017 Riviera is preparing to launch a totally new range called the Sports Motor Yacht.  This new series which starts with a 68 model will soon be followed by a larger 72, and features Riviera usual mix of sportfish looks with amenities found in modern motor yachts.  Both models will use the same hull designed by Dutch Frank Mulder with an identical beam of six meters.  The new Sport Motor Yacht series offers an interesting equilibrium of entertainment and fishing areas. The Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht is an enclosed bridge type with an internal stair case leading up to this spacious area.  Accommodation is for a four cabin eight berth standard plan, or six bed large owners staterooms layout.  A crew cabin is located at midships.  Power options are for a standard Man 1550hp or optional 1800hp units with line shaft propulsion.

New Model: Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht

World Premiered at 2016 Sydney boat show in July, the new Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht appeals to a wide spectrum of boating enthusiasts given her design an innovation, and most certainly will excite a new generation to enjoy Riviera’s luxury life afloat.  The 4800 Sport Yacht is a replacement of Rivera's first IPS pod powered boat the 4400, and features a two staterooms and two bathrooms internal layout.  Her European inspired external design takes cues from the Riviera 6000 and 5400 models.  The 4800 has all the Riviera Sport Yacht hallmarks sleek styling, leisurely single-level living on the main deck.  For the 4800 Sport Yacht, Riviera introduces a robust and responsive modified Vee hull that perfectly matches the Volvo 550hp or optional 600hp with IPS pod propulsion.

New Model: Riviera 575 SUV

Riviera presents the new 575 SUV what is a further development of the 565 with some technical differences. It is more or less the same size and the exterior and interior are not any different. Look skin deep though and you start finding a larger fuel tank; five hundred liters plus, a boat which displaces four tons more dry, and most important a choice for eighter IPS pod drives or line shafts propulsion. This last choice allows for a Cat 1000hp engines installation. So how do you recognize a 565 from a 575? The notable exterior design difference is the engine air intake to the side which comes in a more smooth profile on the new 575 SUV.
Technical Data:
LOA - 18.5 m (60.8ft)

Project: Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht

Australia’s most-awarded builder of luxury motor yachts has just announced an inspired new addition to its growing Sport Yacht collection: the elegant Riviera 4800. With her World premiere scheduled for the 2016 Sydney International Boat Show this July, the impressive new 4800 Sport Yacht will appeal to a wide spectrum of boating enthusiasts.  Riviera new 4800 Sport Yacht will feature a two staterooms and two bathrooms layout below deck, along with a lounging L-shaped sofa located in between the fore and midships cabins.  Total berth capacity is five.  Outside the new 4800 takes external design cues from the Riviera 6000 and 5400 models, which have been received very well since there launch and have a strong global demand.  The 4800 as the larger Sport Yacht models will also feature a tender garage aft.  Power for the 4800 Sport Yacht will also be a World first, as the new Riviera will be the first boat to be powered by the Volvo's new D8 600hp coupled to IPS800 IPS15 pod drives.

New Model: Riviera 57 Enclosed Flybridge

I like to call some of the recent motor yachts coming from down under as World boats, due to them of being able to unite the sport-fishing American and European yachting style ways.  Riviera has led the way in this style in the last decade, and its new 52 and 57 Enclosed Flybridge continue to step up into this direction.  The 57 just as the smaller 52 offers a versatile accommodation plan; from a very living sport-fishing inspired aft deck, the Europe must have astern galley, and the enclosed bridge which is a must for long term cruising heavy sun or rain.  A three cabin lower deck has a lot of interesting amenities, including a spacious full beam midships owner room, a VIP fore cabin, and a bunk third cabin.  This last considering the dimensions might be a bit of a let down in this size for some.  Still Riviera does this due to the central position of the engines, with a lot of thought being made for centre of gravity at low planning speed, see near identical range at 31 or 16-21 knots.  The engine position indeed does not change much, whether you choose IPS pod drives or the classic reliability of the line shaft.
Technical Data:
LOA - 18.5 m (60.8ft)

New Model: Riviera 52 Enclosed Bridge

Riviera continue to update its line up and the 52 Enclosed Bridge sitting in the middle of its range, and entry level into motor yacht world is a shining example of the down under builder strengths.  That is creating comfortable cruising yachts with performance and sea keeping qualities matching those of sleeker looking vessels.  As many of the last decade Riviera's the 52 unites the cruising and the sportfishing world in a contemporary looking enclosed flybridge motor yacht. Much more a cruiser then a sportfisher, the 52 Enclosed Bridge offers intelligent accommodation solutions, see astern galley, internal staircase to the bridge, and a three cabin layout offered in two versions; master stateroom to fore, or two at midships port-side.  In the performance side the 52 Enclosed Bridge again captures a cruiser sensitivity of being powered by twin Volvo 725hp engine with IPS pod drive propulsion, delivering a respectful 32 knots max speed and 25 cruise.  Not bad considering the 25 tons dry or near to thirty loaded.

New Model: Rivera 5400 Sport Yacht

Riviera's presents the new 5400 Sport Yacht.  The Sport Yacht series from Riviera has been a success since the down under builder introduced the 3600 in 2005.  Fast forward ten years since the launch of that model and those that followed, and one can see a big design change coming in recent years.  The first Sport Yacht models have been a nice mix of conservative Sportfisherman looks with European styled interiors and single level cockpit deck layout.  That philosophy started to change with the introduction of the 5800 in 2009.  Now this new 5400 Sport Yacht, which follows the 6000 flagship introduced in 2015 shows a more European stance to its design and looks followed by details of practicality. Why am I saying all this because I think the 5400 Sport Yacht is an important turn around to the design of the Riviera Sport Yacht series, and looks more European then ever.  Still the design team of Riviera has been clever to offer something more to its 5400 Sport Yacht, then the typical seventeen meter European counter part; astern galley by the patio door to starboard, and the L-shaped mezzanine settee being two important cases in-point. Versatility is also offered in the 5400 Sport Yacht with a choice of a standard three double cabins layout, or two; third double bunk berth berth cabin replaced by an L-shaped sofa. The 5400 Sport Yacht also offers interesting performance numbers from its Volvo 725hp engines and IPS pod propulsion reaching top speeds up to 34 knots.
Technical Data:
LOA - 17.29 m (56.9ft)

Project: Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht

Set to launch in early 2016 at the Miami show, the 5400 Sport Yacht is the latest addition to Riviera's collection  A replacement to the 5000 Sport Yacht, the Riviera team has created an entirely fresh design with a sleek new profile along with stylish hull windows and portholes, recessed for enhanced protection and aesthetic appeal.  You will also notice that key design cues have been taken from the latest Sport Yacht model, the 6000 which has enjoyed considerable international success since her launch. The 5400 genuinely abounds with spaciousness and this can only be fully appreciated when you step aboard. At once you will notice a vast array of new features, especially the sheer magnitude of the 5400’s internal volume.  She will offer a three double cabin layout with midships located full beam owners room.  Riviera will also offer an alternative two cabins layout with the third bunk cabin to port side, replaced by an L-shaped lounge. Power will come from twin Volvo 626hp engine with IPS pod propulsion.
