Project: Nautitech 47 Power

The concept and engineering phases have been completed, and now the development of the Nautitech 47 Power is entering a new phase, with completion scheduled for the beginning of 2018. The clear lines and dynamic design of the 47 Power reveal a powerful elegance of this catamaran. The 47 Power will also offer plenty of room for luxury and relaxation, a typical virtue of catamarans due to the wider beam they offer.  The stern of the Nautitech 47 Power has multiple uses with a lifting platform between the hulls that can be used as a tender-lift or as a bathing platform. The 47 Power will offer a generous flybridge offered with a bimini or a hardtop protection, and will also features a barbecue and wet bar.  The large dinette area is offered on the long table in the large cockpit with direct access to the saloon. With this clever layout, cockpit and saloon join into one living space. The perfectly equipped pantry, the exclusive lounge area in the saloon and the generous cockpit all give the impression of a penthouse apartment.  Power for the Nautitech 47 Power is by two Volvo 225hp or optional 300hp  units.  Max speeds are 22 knots, most interesting is that a cruise of nine knots will offer a range of one thousand nautical miles.

Improve-it = Sunreef 70 Power

Launched in May 2015 at the Sunreef Yachts shipyard in Gdansk Poland, Blue Belly is now opening her interiors to the public. Being the twelve unit from the timeless 70 Sunreef Power line introduced and designed by famous sailor Laurent Bourgnon in 2008, Blue Belly is the first build 70 ft power catamaran from Sunreef with a fully open saloon. The idea of having a 70 Power by the owners came in 2014, straight after the launch of their first yacht, a Sunreef 60 Power. The stunning 60 footer unleashed desires of owning a yacht of a bigger size and with an appreciation for luxury design and for spending indulgent time aboard, the 70 feet catamaran seemed to be the best option for such discerning clients.  Knowing the client`s needs, Sunreef Yachts in coperation with designers Orna Weitz and Brosh Alon opened the living area on the main deck and eliminated the interior navigation station in the saloon. In this way, an incredible amount of living space combined with the lounging and dining area was achieved. As 70 Power number 12 is dedicated to short cruises, the yacht is equipped in the exterior helm station on the flybridge. Straight from the saloon is direct access to the master suite located at the front of the yacht. Following her predecessor 1 Life launched in 2014, Blue Belly`s master cabin features panoramic views and has a spectacular magic glass panel separating the his and hers bathroom from the sleeping area.

New Model: Lagoon 40 Motor Yacht

After presenting one of the most acclaimed new models for 2014 with the 630 Motor Yacht launched the past Summer, Lagoon is quick to present a smaller sister in its recently updated engine powered line. But even for a catamaran of this size the new Nauta designed Lagoon 40 Motor Yacht definitely impresses below; four double cabins with four shower heads is surely unheard in a boat measuring under twelve meters even if the beam is more then double. Another interesting detail of the 40 Motor Yacht will also be its small engines, with twin 75hp being the standard power. That is surely small engines, which equals less fuel and service costs.

New Model: Oxygene 77 Air

Oxygene yachts first model the 77 Air is an interesting power catamaran praised by the business press and the public, which validated a project of developing a unique range of yachts in different calibers. With her 23 meters in length, she is the standard model of the Oxygene line up: and impresses for its 279 square meters living area, giving a rare sensation of space in a yacht of this size. From the stern, a perspective unfolds in the axis of the ship and spreads, uninterrupted views towards the horizon. Both the design and building of 77 Air refused to compromise on environmental protection, a challenge that allowed the elaboration of a product that pushes the boundaries of Eco-responsibility. An extensive study of the hulls and an expert knowledge in wind-age and aerodynamics led to the conception of a power catamaran that may, for instance, use only fifty liters per hour for a cruising speed of 12 knots.

New Model: Jaguar Catamaran JC48 Flybridge

These are exciting times over at Jaguar Catamarans, who after announcing its ambitious project in 2013, start the first quarter of 2014 by launching its first model the JC48 Flybridge. A first model launch from a new brand is always something special, and while the people behind Jaguar have long standing experience in the marine industry I am sure this had a unique significance to them. The standard layout of the Jaguar Catamarans JC48 Flybridge offers loads of spaces and three double cabins all with private en-suite shower heads layout. The owners stateroom is a medium level and full beam located to fore, which make best use of the six meters width available. Truth is you would need to go much larger to find the same space in an owners room. Jaguar is also offering a more charter friendly or big family four cabins version, but so far no layout are shown for this. The living always a strong point of catamarans for the spaces offered, in the JC48 is also very spacious, with a helm station located to starboard followed by a dinette, while opposite to port side on entrance we have an astern galley serving easily both saloon and aft deck, and a relaxing passenger sofa forward. Estimated performance figures are also interesting considering the not so large engines of the JC48, with top speeds estimates standing at 20 knots from the standard Yanmar 260hp, and going up an extra five nautical miles per hour with the optional 370hp units.
Technical Data:
LOA - 14.47 m (47.4ft) inc pulpit

Accommodation - 6 berths in 3 cabins, or 8 berths in 4 cabins
Engines - 2 x Yanmar 6BY 260hp, 8LV 370hp
Propulsion - line shafts, ZF pods optional with Yanmar 370hp

Project: Jaguar Catamarans JC48

Power Catamarans seems to have a niche growth in recent years, and Jaguar Catamarans is a new brand which comes from the United Kingdom.  So far Jaguar is showcasing four projects from 47 to 56 feet in two different lines; Power and a Trawler range.  The JC48 is currently Jaguar's first model under construction; and is a modern looking catamaran with a nice and spacious arrangement which offers three large cabins. Designed by renowned Bill Dixon with Jo Munford for interior styling, two features strike immediately in this JC48 the large owners full beam stateroom to fore, and the friendly layout of the main deck with its astern galley.  Standard power to push the expected 19.5 tons of weight is twin Yanmar 260hp or optional 370hp engines.

Project: Sunreef 90 Power

The new 90 Sunreef Power is a truly revolutionary concept of a catamaran super yacht, another milestone coming from this Polish builder. The main idea of the concept is to stress the superb space that catamarans offer thanks to their large beam and to arrange this space in the similar way as on motor yachts. This means one huge main deck spanning the entire beam and housing dining and lounging areas, in both exterior aft deck and inside the saloon that all together create a seamless, open space. The generously sized master cabin is located in the front on the same level. The flybridge will include helm station and two lounging areas;  inside and outside, while the frontal intimate terrace on the main deck will comprise sun pads and jet skis. Guest cabins with private bathrooms and crew quarters with direct access to the galley and storage will be located within the hulls. This space arrangement will certainly please demanding clientele that can enjoy a favorite motor yacht design and layout combined with catamaran advantages such as stability, extended living and storage space, comfort of cruising, low draft, low fuel consumption and oceanic range.  Design wise, the 90 Sunreef Power is a modern looking, streamlined vessel with a curvy line that makes it look like a truly sporty yacht. Interior design is meant to be light and minimalist with modular furniture on the main deck and on the flybridge allowing many configurations whereas the built-in furniture one will be installed only within the hulls. Standard layout offers owners stateroom on the main deck, three guest cabins, and two crew room. On the aft, an interesting solution was found to create a beach club platform. This platform will allow guests to stay down by the sea level at anchor and at lower speeds and will make easy accessing all water toys and tender stored in the aft dinghy garage.  Power is twin 1600 or 1800hp engines, which couple to a total 20000 liters fuel capacity and an economic cruise of 12 knots should give a 2900 nautical mile range.

Improve-it = Sunreef 60 Power

In 2013 Sunreef Yachts together with Volvo  engineers, the company's in-house engineering department installed the acclaimed IPS system installed on the new 60 Power. IPS systems make manoeuvring of the boat much easier with the possibility of side cruising and easy turning just with one joystick. Despite being widely used on regular motoryachts, they are very uncommon on catamarans, especially large-sized yachts in which Sunreef specializes in.  The shipyard decided not to build a completely new hull, dedicated for IPS propulsion, but to modify the existing hull of the 60 Power model. There were several challenges associated with arranging placement for IPS units in the engine rooms and with the correct positioning of IPS units in relation to water level and hull position. This task is rather simple for wide mono hulls but requires much more planning on catamaran narrower aft sections. The research resulted in success and the positive results have even surpassed the owner and Sunreef/Volvo engineers’ expectations.  The shipyard is already considering some further improvements on the hull shape that could allow for closer turns hence giving better manoeuvrability in very small spaces, like crowded marinas. From now on the IPS system will be therefore offered on all power catamarans available at Sunreef Yachts.   The engineering department is already working on the new motor yacht model, the 90 Power and doing a lot of hull optimization calculations to enhance the performance, motion at sea and savings on fuel. The hull had originally been forecast with a standard shaft line. The company is now working on the IPS version of this boat so that 2 propulsion systems can be available on the same hull shape, according to the demand. Sunreef Yachts keeps working closely with Volvo to foresee the further development on their IPS range for that size of Superyacht catamarans.
