Improve-it = Wajer 38

The Wajer 38 have undergone a significant aesthetic and practical upgrade compared to the first generation model. The new edgy design has sleeker lines, which are pronounced in the transom, the carbon window frames and black powder coated air vents.  The new 38 have new suspended Wajer bucket seats, special in-house design, and fully upgraded materials with lots of carbon and Permateek. They are fitted with Volvo 480hp new engines in combination with DPS.  As you may expect from Wajer, most enhancements are a direct result of current customer experience and feedback. For instance, the more pronounced rub rails, integrated Seabob storage, new integrated swim platform with concealed swimming ladder, more comfortable lounge cushions with special stitching and a Garmin screen for full control.  Next to the aesthetic improvements, the Wajer 38 is being tested with foil assist. The brand-new adaption of foil technology ensures a totally different sailing experience, meaning less slamming, enhanced comfort and better performance. The foil aid is placed amidships on the hull and literally lifts the boat, greatly improving comfort and reducing fuel consumption, while still reaching top speed. Preliminary technical research also has shown that the foil assist reduces fuel consumption with 10-20%, while maximum speed increases with 3-6% at equal power.

Improve-It = Otam 65 HT

The second of three new Otam's for 2020, this unique 65 HT has been delivered. The iconic exterior has been adapted to meet the specific demands of a deeply passionate and brave owner, driven by the desire to create a brand new design, a true one-off in Otam style. At the customer’s request, the Francesco Guida Design firm designed the styling and details of the internal layout and of the external cockpit, giving the yacht even more personality and translating the specific requests of the customer with a high attention to detail.  The interiors have been inspired to that of a private with raw carbon being visible in some areas to underline the performance aspect of the sport yacht.  This Otam 65 HT also sets itself apart from previous 65 units for having extensive use of carbon fibre in the build process, and also for being equipped with twin 2000hp MTU engines.  These engines set a new record for Otam's 65th anniversary, making it the fastest build ever by reaching top speeds up to sixty knots and a cruise of fifty knots.  Considering that most Otams reach fifty knots max this is a huge achievement and may 65 feet plus 65 years does indeed equal sixty knots.

Improve-It = Zeelander Z55

Zeelander has delivered another luxurious 17-meter Z55 yacht with a special interior design by Dutch firm Sinot to a proud owner based on the US East Coast.  Effortless style, timeless design and high-end solutions are key features embodied in every boat built by Zeelander Yachts. The new unit of the Z55 model with the marine classic Flag Blue coloured hull from the Dutch shipyard is no exception.  Zeelander Yachts is far from your typical production builder; its yachts are limited and each one of them is treated to a super-yacht level. The new 17-meter Z55, in turn, has an exclusive interior design by the renowned Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design. Improve-it = Maritimo S51

Maritimo’s specialist custom division, Maritimo One, has produced yet another specifically designed vessel for a game fishing enthusiast New Zealand based owner.  The S51 sedan sport yacht is the first of the offshore cruising single level entertainers to be fitted with a state of the art game tower as well as featuring a number of other specific custom modifications to the cockpit, setup for sport fishing.  An M59 model, also with game tower and modifications to cockpit and transom, is the next vessel to come via the Maritimo One customisation division.  Common custom inclusions in specific fish boat setups to date include, fully enclosed fish cockpit modifications with transom doors, reversing transoms, game chairs, game towers, live bait tanks, tuna tubes, outriggers, aft flybridge helms, and more.  The standard Maritimo S51 features an aft galley layout main deck, with the a three double cabins lower deck including a full beam owners stateroom, and is standard powered with Volvo 670hp engines.

Improve-it = Rio Parana 38

For 2020 Rio starts the year with an update to one of its strongest models, the Parana 38.  The Marino Alfani designed Rio Parana 38 while keeping the same hull lines, gets a full update to its windscreen and hardtop, and a new stern design.  The hard top now is a fully integrated and extended design and follows similar line to those of the larger 44 and 56 models.  For the rest the new 2020 version of the Parana 38 keeps the great features of the first model, with two options for the midships cabin, standard in three berths or a master stateroom bed looking to aft layout.  Another great feature of the Rio Parana 38 is its 9.98 registry length to a thirteen meter plus overall length.  The Rio Parana 38 is standard powered by twin Volvo 300hp with stern drive propulsion.

Improve-it = Absolute Navetta 58

During the 2020 Dusseldorf boat show, Absolute presented the new 2020 version of the Navetta 58. Launched in 2014 the 58 apart being a success for Absolute was the model which debuted the Navetta range for the Italian builder.  Now six years later to the launch of hull one the Italian Piacenza builder decided its time for an update. Most of the update in the new 2020 version comes from outside, with new large and different shape hull side windows, and a radar arch which looks back from the previous forward looking version, and this adding also a larger hard-top. These details will make it easy for people to recognize the new Navetta 58, 2020 and beyond version. But the changes do not stop there and for 2020 thanks to Volvo, the Navetta 58 will be powered with twin Volvo 550hp engines. The interior layout is mostly unchanged with a three cabins three head layout lower accommodation deck, and an astern galley with dinette opposite on the main deck.

Improve-it = Hatteras GT70

Hatteras give us a preview rendering of the Enclosed-Bridge GT70 Convertible presented at the 2020 Miami Yacht Show as this article is going online.  This is another take on the already legendary Hatteras GT70 with the enclosed bridge offering apart a protected central helm, an L-shaped dinette to starboard, wetbar to port, and a view mezzanine settee outside, and mini docking station. The GT70 offers a five stateroom four head lower deck arrangement.  Power comes from twin Cats 1825hp which offer a cruise range between mid thirties and up to forty knots of top end speed.  The Hatteras GT70 modified Vee hull shape offers stable speed that cuts through any wave.

Improve-it = Viking 58 Convertible

Considered a production yacht builder Viking takes a semi custom approach to each clients requests in all of the models it produces today from 38 to 93 feet.  So here is a story of a client who upgraded from his Viking 48 to a 58.  In a factory visit this client saw a molded stair case and inquired whether this is possible to fit in a Viking 58.  Viking responded immediately to this customer moving his build from hull number 11 to number 14.  This is not the first time Viking does something similar as they did same to a client request on a Viking 50 back in 2012.

Improve-it = Maritimo M59

In 2019 Maritimo presented design improvement to the M59 a popular enclosed pilot house motor yacht centered in its M-series range.  In particular the Maritimo M59 received important design refinements, elegantly integrating into the hull topsides are new panoramic hull side windows amid some other purposeful styling elements which enhance both interior and exterior form.  In addition to the new features integrated into exterior, the Maritimo M59 also featured the latest design enhancements of interior spaces with updated material palettes, cabinetry design and lighting packages all on show.  The Maritimo M59 also included a new sport dashboard design veiling the extent of the helm.  The Maritimo M59 is a three double cabins motor yacht with full beam midships cabin, and is standard powered by twin Volvo 800hp with line shaft propulsion.

Improve-it = Maritimo M51

In the Sydney boat show 2019 Maritimo presented the One custom project based on current models of the range but specified and tailor modified to specific clients requests.  This Maritimo M51 Flybridge Motoryacht part of the One project was conceptualized by a client with the specific need to expand the master stateroom in lieu of the third starboard guest cabin. The custom design sees the master ensuite relocate to starboard with a custom designed ensuite molding and enlarged day lounge and wardrobe.  This level of customization to the standard specification sees modifications to existing interior moldings with no effect to exterior specification, hydro-statics and weight study. This lesser degree of modification, which transfers a standard build to the new custom division, forms the bulk of enquiry that Maritimo One undertakes. The degree of customization has far more scope for those desiring that a Maritimo motor yacht, suits what one needs and wants.  The Maritimo M51 is standard powered by twin Volvo 670hp with line shaft propulsion, and has in 2019 also been updated with new glazing for the hull sides.

Improve-it = Apreamare 48

During late Spring 2019 Apreamare launched its first fly version for the Apreamare 48 model.  This unique one off Apreamare 48 was a special order from a Japanese client, who also had the traditional gozzo inspired cruiser painted in a peach color.  The flybridge of this Apreamare will feature a staircase to starboard with the layout of the bridge being a free open space affair with a helm station to port side.  Launched in 2006 from a design of Brunello Acampora Victory firm the Apreamare 48 is a non stopping success for the Sorrento boat builder,  The Apreamare 48 offers three cabins sleeping seven persons, and the choice for a single berth crew cabin aft.  Power comes from twin Volvo 600hp which reach top speeds up to 31 knots and a cruise of 26.

Improve-it = Hatteras 100RPH

In July 2019 Hatteras delivered the fifth and last of the 100RPH series.  The fifth hull was named M/Y Optimus and is the most customized build of this semi custom thirty meter super yacht.  The most apparent of the customization are the hull extension of over two meters for an extra aft cockpit lowered deck usable also for fishing, and the electric blue custom paint for the flybridge top, radar arch, and side supports.  The Hatteras 100RPH comes from a collaboration with Italian designer Enrico Gobbi, and featured interior choices for five or four double cabins.  Power for the 100RPH is from standard twin Cats 1900hp or optional MTU 2600hp engines.  The 100 is to be replaced by the 105RPH of which the first hull is currently under construction.

Improve-it = Bertram 35

The Bertram 35 has been a catalyst for the return of possibly the most legendary of all brands.  Designed by fast hull specialist Micheal Peters the Bertram 35 launched in 2016 mirrors in style the legendary Ray Hunt designed 31 of which hundreds of units where delivered and was the boat which started the Deep Vee hull era which still continues today and most of us love.  Now arriving in over twenty units sold in a production which started in 2016, the Bertram 35 shows flexibility with the option of having larger fuel tanks of 1514 liters from the standard 1173.   The Bertram 35 is a modern retro sportfish cruiser at its best and features a forward cabin, dinette and galley on the main deck, and huge aft deck.  The Bertram 35 is powered by Cats 507hp or Yanmar 440hp engines with traditional line shaft propulsion.

Improve-it = Northern Marine 57 Raised Pilothouse

Northern Marine has recently launched its hull number four of its 57 model.  This latest Northern Marine 57 Raised Pilothouse featured a semi wide-body design, and feature a blue turquoise hull color.  The Northern Marine 57 is designed as an owner operator explorer yacht with single engine in mind.  The main deck is a three level layout, with the welcome saloon and the lowest level, while the the pilot-house also features a pilot berth.  Down below the Northern Marine 57 Raised Pilothouse offers three cabins including a full beam midships located owners cabin.

Improve-it = Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht

The Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht has been often said to be one of the prettiest Riviera yachts, and its Platinum Edition refinement under the perfectionist eyes of Mr Longhurst and the highly-regarded Riviera design team takes this popular yacht to another level.  Twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod drives are housed in the 6000’s cleanly laid-out engine-room, a place where artistic form meets functionality, and they simply purr when the vessel is underway. Delivering a smooth and quiet ride when cruising, the 6000 accelerates briskly to a very sporty top speed.  The main deck hard top is extended to enhance the sleekness, while also integrating an electric sunroof. Sitting below, it’s cosy, cocooned and comfortable. Accommodation layout options vary according to buyer preferences but include the option of a palatial “Presidential” master suite.  Throughout the yacht the list of refinements is subtle yet significant, showing considerable thought for the vessel’s overall user-friendliness.  For that final touch of Platinum, grey caulking is utilised in teak decks instead of the conventional black.  The highly efficient hull designs draw on both Volvo Penta and Riviera's extensive experience with the Inboard Propulsion System fitted to date to more than 700 Riviera vessels. Improve-it = Tankoa 50m S501

Tankoa is delighted to announce that the 50m Tankoa S501 Hybrid, previously named S502 Elettra has been successfully launched at the Genoa shipyard.  Following final fit out and dock trials, the yacht will undergo intensive sea trials prior to delivery to her European owner, in time for the summer season and for the official World debut at 2019 Monaco Yacht Show in end September.  Based on a similar design to Vertige, the first in Tankoa's 50-metre series, S501 Hybrid differs from her predecessor under five key aspects.  The most importnat is that the Tankoa S501 hull number two is powered with hybrid propulsion package.  But the S501 number also features a five cabin layout with a main deck owner’s suite and four guest cabins on the lower deck, while the galley is on the main deck instead of the lower deck of hull.   The foredeck of S501 number two also features a touch-and-go helipad.  Tankoa S501 number two has been developed together with the owner.

Improve-it = Steeler 41 S

Steeler launched a very special edition of the 41 S model.  Together with the owner, the Steeler design team developed “Flying Chairs” for a Flybridge experience in the original “coupe” design.  In combination with a second steering position mounted on the roof and a bimini top, the concept allows the owner and his wife to enjoy their cruises in the open air.  The same comfortable chairs, upholstered in luxurious leather, can also be used in the salon or in the cockpit.  The Steeler 41 S is standard powered by a Yanmar 110hp and is constructed of steel.
