Project: Heesen 50m Project Maia

Heesen present Project Maia, a new 50m full-displacement motor yacht below 500GT, with exterior design by Clifford Denn and interiors by Reymond Langton.  Clifford Denn created a gorgeous, flowing, simple yet technically complex exterior design which sets Maia apart from other designs. Maia’s profile embodies Heesen’s DNA, yet also includes original design elements that give her a unique and distinctive look. Car enthusiasts will easily recognize how Project Maia’s exterior lines are inspired by both contemporary and classic car design. The fashion plate grilles on the main deck aft, for example, are only one of the many design details that lend contemporary appeal.  Reymond Langton Design have created beautiful, classic and homely interiors, that work both as a comfortable and elegant private yacht, but can also accommodate charter guests if so desired.  Project Maia has just entered the outfitting period at Heesen shipyard in Oss and will be available for delivery in 2018, following intensive sea trials in the North Sea.

New Model: Heesen 70m YN 17470

Heesen is delighted to announce the launch of the largest yacht in it's fleet to date, the 70m FDHF superyacht Project Kometa. The owners have christened their new yacht Galactica Super Nova. Yard number 17470 is not only the biggest yacht built by Heesen Yachts to date, but she is also one of the top two hundred largest yachts in the world and one of the fastest for her size.  Galactica Super Nova utilizes the revolutionary Fast Displacement Hull Form technology devised by van Oossanen Naval Architects, which Heesen was the first to put into production. Thanks to the addition of a third engine to power a booster jet, she will be capable of reaching a top speed of more than 30 knots. With exterior lines by Espen Øino and interior design by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design,Galactica Super Nova is both an evolution of Heesen's long experience in the superyacht sector and also the result of a specific research into what the market wants and expects. Galactica Super Nova will be extensively tested in the North Sea before being delivered to her owners in May 2016. After her maiden voyage from the Netherlands to Montenegro, she will cruise in the Mediterranean for the summer season before finally making her public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show.

Project: Heesen 50m Project Nova

In a world full of noise, Heesen believes silence is the ultimate luxury so here comes the new fifty meter project Nova. The exterior of Nova is designed by Omega Architects and it’s a first for Heesen with hybrid propulsion. In this case hybrid means that the yacht can draw on two sources of power for propulsion: diesel mechanical and diesel electrical. Either or both sources can be used at the same time. No batteries. This provides more flexible power management, which means better efficiency, less noise and less vibration. Up to 9 knots Nova will be as silent as when at anchor.  Nova-Hybrid is not only fuel efficient, but also great care in living space optimization designed in this case by Sinot. Featuring Heesen patented Fast Displacement hull the fifty meter project Nova will offer a 16 knots top speed, while a cruise of 12 knots gives a range of 3750 nautical miles.

New Model: Heesen 47m YN 16947

Heesen is proud to announce that project YN 16947, 47 metre displacement, was launched at the facility in Oss. The owners, during a private ceremony, christened her M/Y Asya.  Asya’s exterior design combines beautiful traditional lines with a contemporary flair emphasized by the continuous glued glass windows and matching black paintwork on the main deck and upper decks all from the board of the highly talented Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. Her sophisticated interior from the London-based and multi-award winning studio Bannenberg & Rowell has a distinctly Far Eastern, restful feel, inspired by the designs of Dieter Rams, Frank Lloyd-Wright and Tadao Ando. Simplicity as the ultimate form of sophistication is the guiding principle of Asya’s interior design. It combines silver-grey oiled oak, mid-gloss lacquer, silk and bronze with contrasting dark Makassar ebony and polished stainless steel detailing and accents.  Thanks to her well-engineered steel hull with bulbous bow, Asya will ensure a smooth path through water, and will be the perfect home away from home in all sea conditions. Two MTU diesel engines 1359hp, will allow her to reach a maximum speed of 15 knots, and at 12 knots will allow her to have a range of 4,000 nautical miles.

New Model: Heesen 50m YN 16750

Heesen Yachts is proud to announce that on March 20th, 2015 M/Y Sibelle was delivered to her owner.  This latest Heesen hull number YN16750 is a 50-metre fully custom motor yacht, below 500 gross tonnage with an aluminum hull and superstructure.  The sea trials took place in the North Sea on February 13 and 17, 2015 in waves ranging between half to one meter in a fresh to strong wind. YN 16750 exceeded the contractual speed and proved to be extremely maneuverable and very quiet. The design of M/Y Sibelle proves that high speed cruising can be achieved without sacrificing either luxury or efficiency.  YN 16750 exterior lines are by Frank Laupman from Omega architects, assisted in the refinement of the design details by Mikhail Labazov and Andrei Savin from Architectural Bureau A-B Studio. The complex simplicity oxymoron epitomizes in two words the philosophy that led the design team in the development of this project. Elegant exterior lines are emphasized by contrasting bands of wraparound glass that give her a very distinctive look. The exterior lines look like they are running parallel, but in reality they are not! It is all about small adjustments that give an impression of parallelism to the eye.

New Model: Heesen 42m YN 17042

Heesen is proud to announce the launch of YN 17042, on Friday 29th August, at their facility in Oss. During a private ceremony the Owner christened his new vessel M/Y Alive.  Equipped with under water foil, technically called Hull Vane YN 17042 represents a dramatic advancement in performance. The sub-sea wing harnesses waves to produce power; this combined with the fast displacement hull and conventional diesel engines produce remarkable results. This has been proven during independent research conducted by Van Oossanen Naval Architects at two of the world’s most respected hydrodynamic laboratories: Wolfson Unit and Marin.  The new Heesen 42 meter is 35 per cent more efficient than any other yacht of her size and 35 per cent less power is needed to produce almost 16 knots top speed in flat sea conditions. In seas with up to two meter waves, rather than hindering her performance, the yacht’s Hull Vane technology converts the movement and generates 20 per cent more thrust and comfort is improved as the pitching is reduced by 40 per cent. Like an aircraft, as the yacht moves through water, the wing produces lift. This patented Hull Vane technology converts this movement into thrust. YN 17042 allows her Owner to prioritize economy and speed. With an exceptional range of 4.000 nautical miles, over 750 miles come free of charge thanks to her remarkably frugal fuel consumption that is 30 per cent less than on a conventional displacement yacht. The bold exterior lines of M/Y Alive have been created by Frank Laupman from Omega Architects, who is also responsible for her interior design. Laupman has created a new bow design that combines a lower hull profile, and matches sea keeping behavior with a relatively short overall length.  YN 17042 can accommodate up to twelve guests in the outdoor and indoor convivial areas. The 45 square metre open sun deck is perfect for relaxation throughout the day. The yacht boasts two large suites: the first traditionally located on the main deck forward, and the second one on the wheelhouse deck. The latter is a spectacular circular room with a centred king size bed, ensuite bathroom, dressing room and gymnasium. The central positioning of the bed allows stunning, uninterrupted views of the sea thanks to floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The 30 square metre aft terrace is equipped with a breakfast table and lounge seats, completing the functionality of the Owner’s deck.

Project: Heesen 47m Project He YN 16947

Heesen Yachts is proud to announce that the 47m displacement, YN 16947 Project Hé, was sold on June 13, 2014.  Mark Cavendish sales and marketing director at Heesen Yachts commented that this is the fourth contract signed in the first six months of 2014. Project Hé is a yacht in the 47-metre class, a breed of Heesens that are icons of classic contemporary yacht design. Frank Laupman from Omega Architects recently restyled the elegant exterior lines giving this vessel a new look. Her well-engineered round bilge hull with bulbous bow, powered by two MTU 1361hp, will ensure smooth and safe cruising in all sea conditions and a range of 4000 nm at 12 knots, while zero speed stabilizers will guarantee maximum comfort at anchor. The sophisticated interior is by London-based and multi-award winning studio Bannenberg and Rowell Design who are on their fifth successful collaboration with Heesen. The fleet includes the 37m Aurelia, 47m Elandess (now Raasta), Lady Petra and My Secret, and the 65m Galactica Star. Dickie Bannenberg explains how his studio explored themes of purity and simplicity for this project, always confident that Heesen would interpret their concept immaculately as with their previous joint projects. Guru designer Dieter Rams’ motto “to omit everything superfluous so that the essential is shown to the best possible advantage” guided Bannenberg and Rowell in their approach to the interior design of Project Hé. The project name ‘Hé’ in Chinese means ‘the simplest form of peace and harmony’ and Bannenberg and Rowell chose it to unify in one ideogram the essence of their design theme: simplicity as the ultimate form of sophistication. Twelve guests will enjoy a relaxing atmosphere on board where restful colors are combined with natural and discreet contrast finishes. An important role is played by the use of light: indirect lighting concealed LED light strips and filtered thanks to refined venetian blinds which create a unique atmosphere on board Project Hé. Heesen YN 16947 will be delivered to her owners in February 2015.

Project: Heesen 45m Project Necto YN 17145

Heesen Yachts is proud to announce that the first 45m fly bridge vessel YN 17145 Project Necto is sold to a yacht connoisseur with a true passion for Heesen core values: Aluminium, speed and power. This powerful sportster, the largest built by a Northern European shipyard, will be capable of thundering along at an impressive 30 knots thanks to her well-engineered all-aluminium semi-displacement hull and twin MTU engines. Speed and power combined with uncompromising luxury and comfort are the characteristics of this semi-displacement yacht that will have a range of 2750 nautical miles at 12 knots. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects has created the exterior lines of the yacht. True to form Laupman has interpreted the Dutch shipyard DNA with a touch of innovation by introducing the knuckle, a design element that interrupts the line of the raked bow and gives this new breed of Heesen its sharper and narrower bow a particularly aggressive look. The interior décor of YN 17145 is by acclaimed Italian designer Cristiano Gatto who is currently working on his third project with the Dutch shipyard. The Owners chose a contemporary yet cosy design for the interior of their 45m sportster. Warm Canaletto walnut is the main veneer, which perfectly complements the light tones of Loro Piana fabrics and the warm colours of the different finishes; pale blue soft furnishings give a relaxed and light feeling to the yacht’s interior. Ten guests will be accommodated in five cabins: The full beam master suite is located on the main deck, while the four guest cabins two twins and two doubles are on the lower deck.  The owners dedicated special attention to the outdoor areas of their new vessel; the ultra-spacious sundeck is particularly impressive. As an expansive 84-square meter area, completely free from fixed furniture, it is available for guests to carry out their morning exercise, yet another unusual and particularly remarkable design feature on a yacht of this size.  YN 17145 will be delivered to her Owners after intensive sea trials in the North Sea in January 2016.

New Model: Heesen 51m YN 16551

Heesen announces that YN 16551 christened “My Sky” was launched on January 31st at their facility in Oss. “My Sky” is a 51m full displacement long range motor yacht of 660GT with a range of 5.400Nm at 10 knots. Her bold but sleek exterior is due to Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. Flush mounted tinted windows thermo bonded to the superstructure create a continuous wall of glass that gives this vessel a very distinctive look. World renowned architect Erick van Egeraat designed the ultra-contemporary, sharp and sophisticated interior. Emphasizing a strong contrast between dark and light throughout the yacht, a homogenous and luxurious atmosphere is created; combining crisp white leather with dark high-gloss Makassar wood and showing beautiful natural stone inlay patterns of spectacularly patterned back-lit white onyx into a black marble base. My Sky accommodates 12 guests in five cabins. The spacious full beam master suite is located on the main deck forward and boasts a large bathroom including a full natural stone clad steam shower and a spacious walk-in closet. The four guest cabins are located on the lower deck. The main saloon aft, with its large circular dining, lounge and bar area with a 6m2 LED screen, connects to the n deck aft, which organizes built-in settees and seats around two low coffee tables. The upper deck lounge, with its 270 degrees view and circular seating area, opens onto the aft terrace, accommodating a large dining table ideal for al fresco dining, even under way. Finally, the Sundeck’s large Jacuzzi, surrounded by sun-pads to aft, is perfect for total relaxation. As for the touch-and-go helicopter pad at the bridge, it turns into a large sun terrace providing secluded lounging even when the boat is docked stern into the marinas. “My Sky” is due for delivery to her Owners in November 2014 after intensive sea trials in the North Sea.

New Model: Heesen 65m YN 16465

In spring of 2014 the first all aluminium fast displacement motor yacht was launched at Heesen’s facility in Oss and christened Galactica Star. The concept was presented to the yachting community in September 2010 at the Monaco Yacht Club and the contract for the construction of the first 65 metre Fast Displacement Hull Form was signed just one month later. Construction took place at the Heesen facility in Oss where the laying of the keel was marked with an official ceremony in February 2011. Sophisticated hydrodynamic design by Van Oossanen Naval Architects resulted in a vessel that is 30% more e efficient than a round-bilge motor yacht.  In conjunction with Heesen Yachts in-house naval architects, Van Oossanen Naval Architects also implemented the architecture. The vessel’s advanced design combines a special hybrid hull form that results in a very low wave profile over the entire speed range, while also improving sea-keeping and manoeuvrability. This provides a very positive impact on the cost of running the yacht, as well as lowering the environmental footprint due to reduced engine emissions.  When combined with Heesen’s acknowledged weight reduction expertise and a pair of MTU 5766hp, the 65 meter Fast Displacement Hull Form will be able to deliver a top speed of 27 knots as well as a very economical fuel burn and a particularly long range of 4.200Nm at 14 knots. Award-winning designers have been appointed by the Owners for this very special project: Frank Laupman at Omega Architects is responsible for the streamlined and elegant exterior lines, while Bannenberg and Rowell Design have created the sophisticated interior that perfectly complements such a dynamic and sleek exterior design.

Project: Heesen 55m YN 17255

Heesen Yachts is proud to announce the sale of the first 55m steel fast displacement motor yacht.  Hull number: YN 17255 has been sold thanks to a beneficial collaboration.  The Heesen 55m steel fast displacement class was first introduced at “The future is now” Press conference held at the Monaco Yacht Club during the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show, where this Dutch shipyard presented several new models: as well as the 55m steel fast displacement, the 42m fast displacement equipped Hull Vane - sold even before it was introduced on the market, and the 45m fly bridge.  Working with the most radical thinkers, these three new yachts were developed to overcome seemingly opposing attributes: to go faster but use less fuel, to increase range and speed, optimize performance but reduce environmental impact, to enable uncompromised interior design without compromising performance.
YN 17255, whose fast displacement hull form was developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, will reach the remarkable maximum speed of 16knots with a range of 4.500Nm at a cruising speed of 13 knots. Frank Laupman from Omega Architects created the elegant lines of this new Heesen 55 metre.  YN 17255 also boasts extensive outdoor spaces with its 110 square metre sun deck and a 70 square metre Owner’s private terrace located forward. Tenders and toys are stored in the garage located at the front of the vessel and launched from the two gull-wings doors on each side; hence the lazarette can be dedicated to a wide beach club and gym with a generous swim platform that allows the Owner and guests to swim and relax right at the sea’s edge. Twelve guests are accommodated in six cabins: the master suite traditionally located on the main deck forward features a side recessed balcony; a full beam VIP on the lower deck alongside two twins and two doubles. YN 17255 will be delivered to her Owner in Summer 2015.

Improve-it = Heesen 44.77m YN 15944

Heesen Yachts is proud to announce the sale of Project Zentrics. YN 15944 is the eighth in the successful 44 metre all-aluminium class: The first vessel, YN 13644 MY Sedation was launched back in 2007.  YN 15944 is the third contract signed in 2011.  Project Zentric’s twin MTU 3646hp engines combine with unmatched experience in weight reduction and an ultra-efficient  hull ensure that an increase in space never means a decrease in speed, with a max of 25 knots. Meticulous attention to weight reduction results in increased levels of luxury. Using the experience gained from the previous 44 metre aluminium yachts, Heesen has designed Project Zentric to fully maximise the amount of deck space available. Guests will enjoy life at sea on the 45 square metre sun deck. The main aft deck and upper aft deck are the perfect location for alfresco dining or just lounging in the shade, while the seating area on the fore deck is ideal for enjoying the breeze when at anchor or for privacy when docked stern-to in harbour. New Model: Heesen 55m YN 14955

Heesen Yachts has launched the first yacht in its 55 metre semi-displacement series at the shipyard in Oss, The Netherlands on Friday, 11th March 2011.  Project managed by Nakhimov, YN 14955 is the largest and one of the most powerful Heesen yachts to date, and has been named by its owner as Quinta Essentia, translated to English as fifth essence. Powered by a pair of 5764hp MTU YN 14955 reaches top speeds of 24 knots, and has a long range of 4500 nautical miles at 12 knots before needing to refuel 125000 liters of fuel. In consultation with Van Oossanen Associates, Heesen’s in-house naval architects have created a sophisticated and highly efficient hard-chine hull, while Frank Laupman from Omega Architects drew the sleek and elegant exterior lines. With her pelican beak bow and reverse sheer, Quinta Essentia clearly shows her Heesen pedigree. The owners, in collaboration with Dobroserdov Design, personally worked on the colour scheme, which features a combination of a custom metallic dark red Awlgrip paint that is combined with oyster white. The inspiration for the dark red tone is taken from Montemaggio Merlot and reflects one of the owner’s passions for fine Tuscan wines. The same colour scheme is repeated on the limousine tender, designed by Vripack and custom built in New Zealand by Vaudrey Miller. The discreet luxury of Quinta Essentia’s interior was conceived by interior designer Ken Freivokh and further developed by Michela Reverberi, who was responsible for the detailing and interior decoration. Quinta Essentia’s design offers some notably luxurious features, such as the largest owners’ stateroom seen on any of Heesen’s yachts, which has been a personal input of the owner. In size it is comparable to those found on yachts of eighty metres, while she is also the first in the Heesen fleet to sport a tender bay that can be flooded to allow easy launching and recovery of the tenders, and a swimming pool on the main deck that is filled by a waterfall. The gym and spa facilities, including a steam room and a massage room, play a key role on the sun deck.  Heesen 55.0 meter M/Y Quinta Essentia will be delivered to her owners towards the end of May, following intensive sea trials in the North Sea.

New Model: Heesen 49.80m YN 15250

Heesen Yachts is proud to announce that on Friday, February 25, YN 15250 was launched at the shipyard facilities in Oss, the Netherlands. The owner christened YN 15250 as Satori, a name that in the Zen Buddhist tradition refers to a sudden enlightenment that is considered the first step toward Nirvana.  With a Gross Tonnage of 499GT and a top speed of 24 knots she is among the world’s fastest 50 metre yachts. Built on the experience of launching seventeen 44 and 47 metre custom yachts, the hull of this new 50 metre is currently the most efficient on the market. In consultation with Van Oossanen Associates, Heesen’s in-house naval architects created a sophisticated and highly efficient hard-chine hull. When combined with Heesen’s acknowledged weight reduction expertise and a pair of high power-to-weight ratio MTU 2.720kW engines, Satori is able to deliver her excellent top speed as well as a very economical fuel burn and a particularly long range of 3.200Nm at 12 knots. Frank Laupman, from Omega Architects, designed the clean lines of this new 50 metre semi displacement.  The owner appointed the award-winning French designer, Rémi Tessier to create the elegant interior of his yacht. As a result the interior of MY Satori looks extremely simple at the first glance, but as soon as the eye dwells upon the detail the extreme refinement of every single element clearly stands out. Ten guests are accommodated between a master suite on the main deck and four guest cabins on the lower deck (two VIP full width and two twins). On the main deck the saloon is divided into three distinct areas and features a notable round dining table, which can be lowered to create a more informal dining style. Following this simple operation the atmosphere of the saloon is completely changed, transforming it into a magnificent open space ideal for lounging and relaxation. Guests are able to enjoy their life at sea in four different exterior social areas. These comprise a 20 metre long, split-level sun deck with a large custom Jacuzzi, sunbathing terrace and bar; the forward cockpit with U-shaped enclosed sofas facing a large sunbathing area; the al fresco dining area on the upper deck aft; and the aft cockpit.  Full delivery of Satori is scheduled by this month, after intensive sea trials in the North Sea.  Heesen Yachts has currently sixteen yachts under construction with a total length of 773m which will be delivered to their owners by 2014. In 2010 the Dutch shipyard signed seven contracts and has added a further order in early 2011.

Project: Heesen 51.10m YN 16551

Heesen present the project for a 51.10 metres full-displacement, long range vessel with a steel, round-bilge hull-form and aluminium superstructure. This super yacht offers some unique features, including a seventy square metre gymnasium that is located forward on the main deck usually the traditional home of the master suite. Designed by Omega Architects this new vessel is a further development of the lines seen of Man of Steel and Sky. YN 16551 accommodates 12 guests in five cabins, comprising two twins each with an additional Pullman berth, and two doubles located on the lower deck and the owner’s suite located aft on the bridge deck, where it has exclusive access to the open deck and its Jacuzzi. The sun deck is partially shaded and enclosed by rounded windows on its forward side to protect it from the wind. Here, the owner and his guests can enjoy an alfresco dinner, or lounge on the sunbathing area on the aft portion that surrounds a further massive rectangular Jacuzzi. The yacht will be powered by a pair of MTU 3646hp diesel engines, which will power it to a maximum speed of 15 knots. The Owner has appointed New York based architectural studio Mojo Stumer, which collaborated with Heesen on the interior design of M.Y. Sky, the award-winning 50-metre presented at the latest Monaco Yacht Show. YN 16551 will be delivered to her owner in 2014.

Improve-it = Heesen 47m YN 15147

Heesen Yachts has recently launched the sixth vessel in the 47 Metre displacement class. The 47.00 meter is a design that results from the close collaboration of Heesen in house naval architects and Frank Laupman from Omega Architects, who conceived her stream-lined exterior design with its pelican beak bow. The 47 Metre displacement class is renowned for its fine entry at the bow, which incorporates an efficient bulb, its notable top speed of 15,5 Knots and an excellent range of 4.000 Nm at 12 knots. The yacht’s elegant superstructure combined with the sloped wheelhouse windows give M/Y Air a particularly sleek appearance. YN 15147, M/Y Air is sister ship to YN 12247, M/Y Yalla (2004), YN 13147, M/Y Let it Be (2006), YN 13547 M/Y Mon Plaisir (2007), YN 14047 M/Y Elandess (2008), and YN 14347, M/Y Blind Date (2009). Three further 47-metre yachts are currently in build: YN 15347 scheduled for delivery in 2011, YN 15747 and YN 16347 for delivery in 2012. YN 15147 interior has been designed by Frank Laupman from Omega Architects, who created a classic contemporary style that makes use of ultra-modern loose furniture to create a cosy environment. The décor incorporates details in leather, brushed stainless steel and burl to make the atmosphere even warmer. For strategic wood finishes, Laupman chose Japanese elm (Sen) veneer, an exotic pale timber whose strong veins have been brushed and lacquered in satin gloss, and skilfully positioned these adjacent to a darker American walnut to create a sophisticated and at the same time natural atmosphere. M/Y Air accommodates the owner and ten guests in five cabins, four of these on the lower deck, and an owner’s suite traditionally located on the forward part of the main deck. Like the owner’s suite, one of the two VIP cabins that extend across the yacht’s full-beam offers a full bathroom, while all the other guests cabins have en suite shower rooms. The remaining two guest cabins are located on either side of a central passageway, with the cabin on the port side being a double, while to starboard is a twin cabin fitted with additional pullman beds that descend from the deck head. For added versatility, the two single beds in this latter cabin can be easily transformed into a double. The yacht’s eight crew members are accommodated in four cabins, all provided with ensuite shower rooms, while the captain’s cabin is located on the upper deck with direct access to the bridge. The main saloon is divided into three areas, a lobby, lounge, and a formal dining area where all twelve guests are able to be seated around a rectangular table finished in Matt wengé. Perhaps the most striking feature of M/Y Air’s interior is the theatre room located on the upper deck. This incorporates a Panasonic 103" HD Plasma Screen, one of the biggest currently available on the market complemented by a full 7.1 Steinway Lyngdorf Audio System. This unique audio installation, designed specifically for M/Y Air, includes two flagship Model D speakers standing nearly 7 feet tall on either side of the plasma screen. These speakers, together with the center and four surround speakers, are hand-finished in the same high-gloss black piano finish famously used on Steinway & Sons pianos and accented with 24k gold. To complete the system, are five Dual Woofers, three located below the plasma screen and two custom-built woofers in the deck head to the rear. The system uses 6.400 Watts of power to provide flawless reproduction of music and movie sound tracks. A Custom iPad controls the whole system with both Crestron and Cisco.
