Project: VanDutch 75

VanDutch present the project for a new 75 flagship model, which will expand the size of the Italian, Pardo owned brand since 2020 by just one foot short of twenty feet from the current 56 flagship. Designed by Mulder, who is also responsible for naval architecture the 75 is an evolution of the 70 project which VanDutch announced back in 2014.  The Van Dutch 75 is to be available in standard three or optional two large double cabins layout.  In both layouts a galley and dinette is located in between the cabins.  In the optional two suites layout, the master stateroom is full beam midships.  A crew cabin is located in between the cabins area and the engine room.  The exterior of the VanDutch 75 will offer a large central sun-pad, followed by a central C-shaped settee, while a step up will lead you to two C-shaped dinettes with the one to port side also offering a mezzanine settee looking aft.  A helm station is to port side, with an L-shaped wet bar located opposite.  The VanDutch 75 as has been the range from its founding in 2009 is to be a classic open yacht, with clean uncluttered lines and a bow which echoes the early twentieth century fast commuters, as used by the super rich to move around the bays of New York. The VanDutch 75 is offered with an optional light open hard-top as pictured above or the standard full open version.  The VanDutch 75 is standard powered by triple Volvo 800hp engines with IPS pod drives, which can go up to the optional 1000hp units.  Speed estimates are for a max of forty knots.

This line is well-known for its performance and its practical and comfortable layout; it includes yachts that are easily manoeuvrable and designed to navigate in total safety thanks to their configuration. Having all of the above does not mean cutting back on functionality and great attention to design with the Pardo 75 offering a three double cabins lower deck, with the choice to have a large saloon area and two cabins, or a galley down with two double cabins.  A crew cabin is located forward.  The Pardo 75 is powered by triple Volvo 800hp engines with IPS pod drives, with options that go up to 1000hp and the same propulsion set up.

New Model: Evo Yachts R+ 17.71m

For the 2023 fall boat show round-up Evo Yachts presented the new R+, a fully enclosed hard top sport yacht which takes boating into the future.  The R+ is based on the hull of the 2019 launched Evo Yachts R6, which was followed by an Open variant in Summer 2020.  This new R+ which uses the hull and a complete different layout outside and inside takes the opposite route to its more open sisters for a fully enclosed hard top with patio door. The enclosed main deck, ideal for long, comfortable stays on board, is added by a multipurpose stern platform which extends astern and apart easy to launch and haul up tender or jet ski generates a split level second entertainment area with the aft deck. For this first unit of the R+ the owner did not opt for the extendable Evo bulkheads in the aft cockpit which extend away, but are always available as an option in future builds.  As the other Evo Yachts, designer Valerio Rivellini in the R+ silhouette shows eye-catching modern minimal sporty lines with the aluminium top painted in black emphasizing futuristic angular looks, in keeping with Evo Yachts signature style, while the interiors feature high ceilings for maximum comfort and liveability for this unit offered a living lounging galley area on the main deck with a three double cabins lower deck. The minimal, sporty and dynamic style chosen for the interiors is a hallmark of the R line with interior design and exterior styling express the desire to achieve the ideal combination of dynamism and onboard comfort with futuristic modernity.  The Evo R+ is powered by twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod drives propulsion for a top speed up to 34 knots and a cruise of 26.

New Model: Centouno Navi Vespro 16.70 m

For the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival, Centouno Navi debuted the launch of its first construction, the semi-custom sixteen meters Vespro, a very fast fifty knots plus open T-top covered sport yacht designed by Marco Arnaboldi and Manuela Lucchesi.  The two architects apart being the designers are also the owners of Centouno, a high end fast sport yacht builder presenting itself in 2022 with the 28m Forza and 39m Eterea projects, and the Vespro announced some months from the larger models, construction starting just after the announcement. The two designers for the Vespro present clean and soft curved lines, futuristic but not sharp minimal, a trend which in the renderings is followed in the larger Centouno sisters.  With this one can say that the Vespro is an open sport yacht of the future, with spacious exterior spaces and an open aft deck, which extends and doubles its size thanks to port and starboard drop down balconies, and a T-top which covers the pilot station and central area of the cockpit.  Over half of the exterior area from the helm station to aft is a wide body, meaning it uses nearly all the available beam, with two left and right stairs leading you to the foredeck sun-pad area.  Down below the Vespro offers a two cabins sleeping four layout, with saloon and galley in between. A traditional arrangement with the exception for the forward master stateroom which features a fore peak shower head in order to centralize the stateroom and using most of the beam available without being in a midships location.  The Centouno Navi Vespro is powered by twin Man 1200hp with MJP jet propulsion, a Marco Arnaboldi specialization who apart being the founder of the go-to jet powered yacht brand is also the architect or consultant for the majority of yachts and fast patrol vessels with jet power.  With Marco Arnaboldi architecting the jet propulsion it is sure not to be disappointed in the performance of the Vespro, and the first Centouno Navi reached speeds of 57 knots, an extra one knot to the declared design speed, a fast cruise of fifty, and a very economic to run six litres per nautical miles 35 knots cruise.  Nothing more to add but impressive numbers!.

Projects: Sunseeker 55 Sport Yacht, Sunseeker Predator 55

On the opening day of the Cannes Festival Sunseeker announced two new seventeen meters sport yachts to launch in 2024, the 55 Sport Yacht and the Predator 55. Both the new models are to be based on the 2023 launched Superhawk 55 platform, with an identical length and beam, and are to be powered by the same twin 725hp IPS pod drives set up for speeds up to 35 knots.  Three knots less then the Superhawk 55, which is the trade off for the weight of the extra super structure.  Beside the sport bridge which you get in the 55 Sport Yacht, both the models have five choices inside, two for the upper deck; with a galley to starboard or a sofa, and three lower deck choices all about the middle starboard side; L-shaped saloon, spacious galley, and a three cabins with head choice.  More so with the 55 Sport Yacht, I think Sunseeker has something unique here, first of all sport bridge sub sixty feet are non existent, and second the three cabins three head layout is also very hard to find.  I think in the current panorama of sport yachts in this seventeen meters size no one has this option, with a couple of flybridge motor yachts offering this choice.
The Sunseeker Predator 55 will replace the just stopped in production Predator 55 Evo, which was presented in 2020, as an evolution of the 2018 launched Predator 50.  Here the offer is nearly identical to the 55 Sport Yacht, same five total options on the main and lower deck, with a larger hard top opening replacing the mini sport bridge up top.

New Model: Cayman 540WA

Cayman is making 2023 an important year by presenting two new models in a space of about six months, and after launching the new S600 in February has in the end of July also delivered its first 540WA.  Two different new models; the S600 being all about the Cayman sport yacht identity which made the fortunes of the name in the noughties, and this new 540WA seventeen meter walk around sport yacht a continuation and following of the successful 400WA which debuted in 2021.  Again a design of Ferragni, the designer of all latest Cayman models, the 540WA is a sport yacht walk-around centre console, with opening side-bulk heads and infinite seventeen meter deck space.  The galley and living are all outside on the main deck, just behind the triple seated centre console helm station with a sun-pad located both to fore and aft.  Opening side bulk heads to both port and starboard sides extend the space of the aft deck.  Down below the Cayman 540 WA is offered in two or three cabins layout, with hull one featuring the later version, which features a master room forward, and two guest cabins at midships, and a relaxing L-lounge sofa in between the fore and aft cabins.  The Cayman 540WA is powered by twin Volvo engines with IPS pods drives, and or a speed lover triple Mercury 600hp hidden under the sun-pad outboard set up.  Hull one was fitted with the standard and small for over twenty tons in running order 480hp engines, which according to initial reports reached a top speed up to 28 knots.  Bigger Volvo's 600hp and or 725hp power are available, these two being more in line with the power a sport yacht of this size and displacement deserves.

New Model: Airon Marine Cinquanta Sport

Following the launch of the Airon 50 Cinquanta with hard-top in 2021, Paolo Molinari follows it with the sister Cinquanta Sport open version, a fifteen meter sport yacht dedicated to those who like sun and wind and open air navigation.  The Airon Marine Cinquanta Sport is also immersed in the roots of the Lake Como boat builder with a cockpit layout which follows that of long standing popular smaller models like the 345, the 388/4100, and the 4300 Sport.  These huge and spacious Airon-edited external cockpit layouts, with a large C-shaped settee which becomes a sun-pad, and C-shaped dinette to port side with galley and helm station opposite have been the success of the smaller Airon Marine models, and using a similar layout in the larger Cinquanta Sport makes a lot of sense.  Inside this first Cinquanta Sport offers a three double cabins layout, with a master suite forward, and two guest cabins at midships, a spacious L-shaped galley in between.  Like the hard-top Cinquanta the Airon Marine Cinquanta Sport is powered by twin Volvo 480hp with IPS pod drives.

New Model: Maritimo S75 Sedan Motor Yacht

Australian luxury yacht manufacturer Maritimo, announces the arrival of the awaited S75 Sedan Motor Yacht. The S75 is the embodiment of everything that is Maritimo, in a form that balances authority and grace in every way and angle, from the confident and deliberate lines, further accentuated by the extended hardtop that delivers significant coverage and protection from the elements, and its definitively commanding presence. Along with the sleek hips that frame a delicate reverse sheer, the overall aesthetic somewhat belies the S75’s overall and very distinct proportions. Purposeful black accents on the arch bar, housing radar and satellite domes, give a sporty feel and only serve to further accentuate and encapsulate the S75’s sleek profile and form. Maritmo’s long range blue water cruising credentials are undeniable, and the S75 will further augment this stance, with its deep-sided walkaround decks effortlessly integrated into the form, and lead to the capacious forward outdoor lounge area, with a free-standing sun bed and forward-facing lounge.  From the exterior, the massive panoramic glass areas in the hull and saloon tease at what will be on offer for the occupants gazing outwards. The curvature of the front screen is an engineering masterpiece and integrates gloriously with the moulded form of the saloon. Upon stepping on board the S75, the vast open nature of the rear adventure deck and its twenty square meters are apparent, and delivers on the all-important grandeur the yacht commands. It is for example big enough to play basketball while at anchor!. Sitting just above the waterline, this adventure deck creates a visual and functional connectivity with the ocean, where all adventures await, and upon return provides a welcoming space for lounging, barbecuing, and relaxation. Stepping up to the grand upper-cockpit deck space and alfresco lounging area, these superbly appointed and exceptionally functional connected spaces offer abundant opportunities for entertaining and dining, or full weather protection should the need arise. Maritimo’s renowned style and practicality is demonstrated once again with the aft galley, offering the most refined palette of materials and finishes, along with the highest level of appliances, to deliver understated elegance and superior usability. The S75’s galley serves both in and outdoor dining areas and socially connects chef and guests alike. A deep understanding of the requirements for extended stays aboard are evident in the S75’s thoughtful storage and design functionality. Flowing through into the saloon, panoramic glazed areas create a light and airy space and fill the frames with a gallery of seascapes. This plush and relaxing zone offers dedicated lounging and dining options. An enormous 65-inch TV screen on the port side reveals itself via electric lift, and can be swivelled and subsequently viewed from the galley, and even the upper cockpit. An elevated cruising lounge allows for great interaction with those on the helm, who are also highly pampered with ergonomically designed and electrically adjustable heated helm seats, and a careful consideration of controls and instrumentation. The atrium stairwell at the front of the saloon floats in space and captures light to create a welcoming arrival point to the accommodation level below. The full beam midships master stateroom offers abundance of space and light, delivered by glazing from both sides of the room . Light, open, and abundantly luxurious staterooms and amenities are further forward and below, with the forward VIP stateroom and, two other guests cabins to port and starboard, sleeping a total of eight guests. Across the entire S75 the craftsmanship and details is highly apparent, with the S75 revealing a depth of design and build consideration on a heightened level, even in the ‘unseen areas’ where manufacturers traditionally make the usual short cuts. The Maritimo S75 is also studied with the best power to weight ratio and cruising capabilities all perfectly paired from twin Scania 1150hp engines as standard or optional MTU 1625hp.

Project: Focus Forza 50

Following the debut of the Forza 37, Focus presents the project for a new Forza 50 project.  At fifteen meters long the Forza 50 is to be the new Focus flagship, a centre console sport yacht with endless exterior spaces, and an interior offering a forward island double berth cabin, a dinette, and a galley opposite.  Innovation seems also an important part of the Forza 50 project, with unedited large opening hydraulic hull windows serving the master cabin, and lifting foredeck which makes the lower deck open.  The Focus Forza 50 also comes with customization and choices regarding propulsion from twin diesels to quadruple 600hp outboards for up to 65 knots performance with a fuel capacity option from one to three thousand litres.

Project: Whitehaven 6500 Coupe

Whitehaven present the project for the new 6500 Coupe, a model which is the 6100 series extended in hull length for 1.3 meters. This extra length capability was incorporated into the original hull design and the moulds were constructed to produce hull lengths from 18 meters to just over 19.5 meters. This extra length enables the 6500 models to include a full beam master bathroom behind the master bed which is an option often requested but which could not be incorporated into the 6100 models and still be in keeping with the application of traditional straight shaft propulsion systems. The 6500 Coupe otherwise share the same lower accommodation as the 6100 models with the addition of a full beam master bathroom further complimenting the owner’s stateroom. This provides the option to convert the third guest bathroom into a utility room with extra storage and refrigeration which is always very helpful. There are several options around main deck, saloon and cockpit designs however the main saloon area remains the same length as the 6100 with the extra 1.3 meters creating a longer and more spacious cockpit that can include several custom options for seating, bar areas, alfresco dining and BBQ locations. Surprisingly, the increase to the water line length creates for a more efficient operating vessel and even though there’s significantly more underwater surface area, it’s expected the additional efficiency of the longer 6500 hull to have zero impact on fuel consumption over the 6100 at long distance cruise speeds of up to twelve knots. In fact, there will be very little impact in litres per hour fuel burn at speeds up to eighteen knots. From a manufacturing perspective, sharing the same hull platform across two Whitehaven 6100 and 6500 models that delivers increased amenity over a longer and more efficient operating hull with a lower cost per foot to produce compared to its smaller sibling made good sense. The first Whitehaven 6500 Coupe will be completed in late 2023 and will be on display at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in 2024.
