Improve-it = Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible

Maritimo presents a new engine propulsion choice to its 440 Offshore Convertible now offer with the choices of traditional shaft drive propulsion.  The Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible was launched last year 2010, breaking new ground for a 44 feet flybridge sportfish cruiser thanks to its three-sided enclosed flybridge and internal staircase and an aft galley with bi-fold doors to the cockpit.  The 440 Offshore Convertible was also the first flybridge boat from Maritimo to utilise the Volvo Penta IPS pod drive system. Now the company has introduced more choices to its customers offering the option of shaft drive propulsion, who can select between Volvo Penta IPS600 forward looking dual propellers pod drive with 435hp turbo diesel engines, or Cummins QSB 5.9 480hp with shafts.  In both choices everything remains the same above the waterline of the 440 Offshore Convertible from the three separate cabins sleeping five to the storage space.  In both engines the Maritimo 440 Offshore Convertible can cruise close to 350 nautical miles at around 22 knots and well over 1,000 nm at trolling speed.

Project: Maritimo M48 Cruising Motoryacht Series II

Maritimo is celebrating the one hundred boat milestone for its most popular 48 Cruising Motoryacht with the launch of the Series II model. The M48 Series II takes on a number of the design concepts first seen with the new generation M56 and newly launched M53 Cruising Motoryachts. The hallmark wings over the side decks have been deleted, giving the superstructure a more streamlined look. The hull now sports a large port light on the port side to flood the master stateroom with natural light. Continuing the smoother look, the designers have also deleted the skipper's door to starboard forward in the saloon and extended the starboard lounge forward to the bulkhead. This offers more seating to relax in the spacious saloon. The galley has not been overlooked, with full height refrigerator and full-height swing-out pantry included. Access between the galley and aft cockpit is dramatically improved with bi-fold doors that tuck away to open the entire saloon. Of course the designers have maintained the most popular elements of the original craft first launched in 2007. The new M48 has the hallmark walk-around decks and internal staircase, three cabin two bathroom accommodation, spacious saloon and large flybridge. In fact the flybridge has been slightly extended and a sunroof is now standard. The Maritimo M48 Cruising Motoryacht Series II will be launched in the beginning of 2011.

New Model: Maritimo C47 Sports Cabriolet

Maritimo unveiled the new C47 Sports Cabriolet at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, revealing with it some world first IPS safety features, along the usual dynamic looks, styling and performance of this range. Most important the C47 Sports Cabriotlet introduces the world first positive buoyancy chambers in the engine room that house the twin Volvo Penta IPS600 power plants. During project Maritimo was concerned that due to the engines and fuel tanks both located aft, a breach in the hull could trap people forward, so the company worked it out with naval architect Stuart Ballantyne to integrate positive buoyancy tanks on the sides of the engine room. According to Volvo this is the first IPS build to have both water tight bulkheads and buoyancy chambers. Maritimo C47 Sports Cabriolet is also the first build coming from Oceania which gets a full Volvo Certified installation. This is a sets of rules dictating laminate schedule, the rings of the pods, and the fuel lines running at the bottom of the tanks. The C47 Sports Cabriolet continues the comfort of this range having a living on the main deck, two double cabins with full view windows below, and an aft deck which becomes an Al fresco entertainment area. New Model: Maritimo A50 Aegean Flybridge

Maritimo presents the more standard to the eye version of the A50 Aegean called the Flybridge. First presented as the Enclosed version with upper bridge, the A50 Aegean Flybidge takes a similar stance to its more all weather sister, and features more standard forms. The A50 Aegean Flybridge has in fact a standard proposition of a dual helm station, inside on the main deck, and open air on the fly. The flybridge being the main difference to the other version gives you a central helm station, L-shaped settee to port, and a bunk for three persons to starboard. Aft of the flybridge, is left free to use as one desires. The maid deck of the A50 Aegean Flybridge has a similar layout to the Enclosed, with the difference that to starboard we have the interior commanding station, in replacement of the internal staircase. The staircase of the Flybridge version is outside in integrated fiberglass mould. Identical to the Enclosed the lower deck accommodation plan is for a three cabin five berth two heads layout. Owners suite to port mid ship, VIP to fore, single guest cabin and head number two to starboard. The A50 as the bigger Aegean sisters has the rare uniqueness to find for a flybridge motor yacht tender garage solution. The beam and draft dimensions of the hull give away that most probably the under waters of the A50 are very similar to all of the Maritimo Aegean, full range of Sports Cabriolet, 48 / 52 Cruising Motor Yacht, and 500 / 550 Offshore Convertible. Power is from twin Volvo D12s 775hp each which should give an economical 25 knots cruise.

Project: Maritimo C47 Sports Cabriolet

Maritimo presents the C47 Sports Cabriolet project, its first model to be powered by pod drives technology, set to be launched at the coming Sanctuary Cove Boat Show coming May. Maritimo believes that the slow speed manoeuvrability of pod drives clearly provides less experienced owners looking in this size of the market for a Sport Cruiser with an added sense of security. So far the Australian builder is pretty tight lipped on the accommodation layout, and the performance of its new entry level model. Of the two recreational pod drives available the C47 Sports Cabriolet will use the Volvo IPS system with forward looking dual propellers. The C47 Sports Cabriolet is among one of the new models Maritimo will launch in the forty to fifty foot range over the next year.

Projects: Maritimo A50 Aegean Enclosed, Maritimo A50 Aegean

After various customers consensus the Aussie builder Maritimo Aegean range continues to be upgraded with the introduction of the A50 Aegean, and the A50 Aegean Enclosed. The first presentation goes to the luxurious enclosed flybridge of the A50 Aegean Enclosed, which offers uninhibited views of the seascape, but also another entertainment area where one can relax both indoors and out, thanks to the sliding glass doors in the aft balcony. With the helm station up top, there’s more room to move on the main deck, adding entertainment space to the A50 Aegean Enclosed. As well as being long on features, the A50 Aegean Enclosed has genuine long range cruising capabilities, and is designed with an advanced variable deadrise hull, engines and fuel tanks over the centre of buoyancy, and a shaft angle of just 9 degrees, thus resulting in an effortless poise, balance and fuel efficiency. Down below is a three double cabins layout, with a an owners cabin to fore, VIP cabin to port, and a single or double bunk cabin to starboard. Performance is an estimated cruise speed of 24 knots with twin Cats C12 715hp engines. The standard Maritimo A50 Aegean follows the theme of the A50 Aegean Enclosed but has dual helm stations. Performance estimates also calls for an extra 1 knots of economic cruise of 25 knots, with the same C12 715hp twin Cats engines. The flybridge offers a central helm station, l-shaped settee to port, and a additional longitudinal settee to starboard. Inside is also the same layout with the removal of an internal staircase being replaced by the helm station, and flybridge staircase located aft in replacement to inside. Worth to note that all Aegean series have so far been derived from the same hull, with all offering an identical beam of 5.2 metres, reason for which speeds are similar.

New Model: Maritimo A60 Aegean Enclosed

The enclosed flybridge is probably the first thing you’ll notice about the stunning new A60 Aegean Enclosed. Whether cruising at the helm or anchored at a favourite hideaway, the elevated position offers exclusive views of the seascape, with wide sliding doors aft opening to a unique balcony setting, making the enclosed flybridge a second entertainment area where one can relax indoors and out, or simply enjoy cruising in total protection from the elements. The A60 Aegean Enclosed but does not want only to go further in style and luxury, it also wants to offer a genuine long-range cruising capabilities. Designed with an advanced variable deadrise hull, engines and fuel tanks over the centre of buoyancy, and a minuscule shaft angle of just nine degrees, the A60 Aegean Enclosed has effortless balance, and is incredibly fuel-efficient as a result. Maritimo is expecting a similar performance to the standard A60 Aegean with twin C12 715hp Cats giving a reliable 25 knots cruise. New Model: Maritimo 56 Cruising Motoryacht

The new Maritimo 56 Cruising Motoryacht presented at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show showed a new era for the Australian builder Cruising Motor Yacht range. For a start, the 56 will be the first Maritimo not to sport the trademark ‘wings’ on the flybridge. Further, it will have a sleeker look with a more raked bow and a slightly longer flybridge. The internal staircase to the flybridge, the big walk around decks, the nine-degree shaft angles are all trademark Maritimo features that are retained in this stunning new vessel. The 56 Cruising Motoryacht has a three-cabin, two-bathroom layout similar to that of the smaller 52, but it will have a larger main stateroom and an altogether bigger feel. The owners stateroom is to port with its own private en suite bathroom. VIP double cabin forward with ensuite access to the second bathroom and a bunk cabin to port which also houses the washer/dryer. The main saloon is huge and perfect for entertaining with a staircase to port with an L-shaped lounge forward of that. A second lounge/dinette is to starboard and a sliding door giving direct access to the deck is also to starboard. Aft is the galley which resides on the same level as the saloon and have direct access to the cockpit via the three-way sliding doors. Australians love big cockpits and the 56 does not disappoint in this important area, offering a comfortable lounge with optional dinette, plus a big freezer and barbecue in the ‘boot’. However the big news is in the bathing platform which is huge and can lift up or down to 400mm, making it easy to swim, lifting the tender on or of the water, or just sitting on a deck chair cooling your heels. Entertainers and skippers alike will appreciate the big new enclosed flybridge, for its roominess, views, dinette, lounge, fridge, and the large back veranda where one can enjoy the views from outside. Skippers will also appreciate the big flybridge not only for its comfort and the vision but mostly the twin helm seats behind a vast console which will have all the room you need for the big screens for navigation, and the control systems monitoring the pair of 715hp C12 Caterpillar. The C12s will comfortably, and more importantly economically, lift the 56 Cruising Motoryacht to an easy cruise speed of 25 knots with more in reserve.

Projects: Maritimo A60 Aegean Enclosed, Maritimo 56 Cruising Motoryacht

Australian boat builder Maritimo presents the project of two further upcoming models to join its existing range of cruisers and yachts. The first of these pictured above is the A60 Aegean Enclosed, and this is a three, closed upper bridge version for the A60 Aegean Flybridge model presented in 2008. With the enclosed bridge the A60 Aegean Enclosed takes a whole new dimension and modifies all the interior plan versus the model on which it is based. The main deck presents a different more spacious saloon, now with twin spacious l-shaped settees, galley aft and an internal staircase leading to the third deck. Up in the third upper deck enclosed area one finds a central located helm station, and two settees to both sides. Below the standard layout is also different offering a 3 cabin, 3 head version with a mid ship located owners cabin. Power for the A60 Aegean Enclosed is twin C12 715hp Cats, of which Maritimo expects a similar 25 knots cruising speed as the standard Flybridge version.
The other project set to be unveiled this month is the new 56 Cruising Motoryacht, and will be the fourth and second in size model of this range from Maritimo. The Cruising Motoryacht is a very interesting range offering hybrid looks, associated with a Sport Fisherman but adding to it comforts coming from Motor Yachts, like deep side deck, extended integrated bathing platform, and an aft deck area more made to relax and socialize then the usual open plan associated with the gaming machines. This 56 Cruising Motoryacht is expected with great anticipation mostly for pushing also the envelope of this range to a more modern direction and will offer an enclosed bridge, an interior with 3 cabins 2 heads, and an abaft located galley. Power will be twin Cats 715hp which will give a cruising speed of about 25 knots to this 27 toner.
