Project: Greenline 36 Hybrid

Greenline presents the project for a new 36 Hybrid model with design again trusted to the Jakopin brothers of J and J office.  The new 36 Hybrid is a further development of the Greenline concept and is to be an intermediate model between the best selling 33 and 40 models.  The 36 Hybrid aims to increase accommodation and speed to new levels for Greenline with a target to reach maximum speed of 25 knots with the large engine option of a Yanmar 370hp.  Standard power is a Volvo 220hp which should reach eighteen knots max.  Interior layout offers two cabins and one shower head below deck. While the main deck is center to the living area, with a C-shaped sofa, entertainment unit, and L-shape astern galley.

Project: Trader 42 Sugnature

Trader presents an important uplift to its current best selling 42 Signature model.  The new project gets the treatments for 120 new developed items on board, all designed to enhance the 42 Signature’s appeal as a passage making yacht and a home afloat. Highlights include new glazing, giving the best views afloat, and a docking joystick for unrivaled maneuverability.  The rendering above also shows a change in the view hull windows with huge emphasis to the large size serving the master cabin located to aft.  An other important change will be that concerning the master cabin to aft.  The new generation Trader 42 Signature is set to launch at the 2016 Southampton boat show.

New Model: Beneteau 30 Swift Trawler

Beneteau has really taken the motor boat market on in the last ten years or so, and the Swift Trawler has been one of its success stories in this sector.  Designed by the Italian Andreani and the Beneteau design team the 30 Swift Trawler is an interesting new offer, and presents itself as an entry level of the explorer range which currently offers four models up to fifty feet.  The 30 Swift Trawler offers interesting intelligent transforming solutions aimed at making life on-board comfortable, see opening transom, and dinette to double berth switch.  The 30 Swift Trawler is also offered with two internal layouts one or two cabins, and an option for large longer extended bathing platform.  Power is a standard single Volvo 300 or optional 370hp engine with line shaft propulsion.

Project: Storm X-44

Meetings with clients and owners have led Storm yachts to the development of a new project at the lower end of it's production size range: the X-44. From a distance this project is clearly identifiable as true Storm yachts, and even with a limited hull length of just over thirteen meters, the model will still offer everything that makes the brand unique in the market.  The X-44 supplements the range in the shortest length. Project: Beneteau 30 Swift Trawler

Beneteau presents the project for a new baby 30 Swift Trawler, the smallest of the latest generation of explorer type cruisers designed by the giant French boat builder. Cut out for high seas, the 30 Swift Trawler is surprisingly comfortable and her autonomy and many fittings are reassuring, making life on board much easier. With a clear-cut combination of style and seaworthiness, you will be tempted by the energy performance of this voyager.  With hand rails omnipresent, high pulpits and a large well-protected starboard walkway, the 30 Swift Trawler maximizes the safety of movements on board. Unique on this type of boat, the panoramic view from the steering station makes for easy driving unobstructed by any obstacle. New Model: Cranchi 43 Eco Trawler LD

Cranchi as always very attentive to the market continues to expand its new Trawler range with the addition of a smaller model to compliment the success of the 53, the new 43 Eco Trawler LD, the last two letters standing for Long Distance.  The 43 Eco Trawler apart offering a semi planning hull sees Cranchi offer various options to the buyer for the lower deck arrangement with three different options available; which go from two large cabins this including a large full beam midships owners room, three double cabins, and a twin cabins plus utility room to port side option.  The galley as is the living in all layouts is located on the main deck.  The flybridge of the 43 Eco Trawler also surprises for its huge dimensions, with a helm located to port side with wet-bar behind it, and a C-shaped settee plus sun pad to starboard.  Power options for the new Cranchi 43 start from Volvo 260hp and go up to 300 and 330hp optional units.

Project: Marlow 49 Explorer

At the October 2013 Fort Lauderdale boat show Marlow announced that it started project plans for a new 49 Explorer model. In this new creation which took about two years in the making Marlow listened with special ears to its customers who have expressed a great interest in an exploror cruiser of this size range. Plans were unveiled at each owners party and the order for hull one finally arrived with a debut set for Miami 2015. Like all Marlow yachts the 49 Explorer will feature construction techniques with the finest of materials. It will exhibit the same grace, dexterity and reliability in performance and provide the quiet luxury, overstated volume and outstanding fit and finish that Marlow yachts share. The 49 Explorer will be constructed with Marlow's third generation radius transom, thus providing a significant gain in lazarette storage and cockpit areas. There are three lower deck options for stateroom configurations creating either two very large staterooms or adding a third with twin bunks for very comfortable accommodations. Power comes from twin 461hp Cat engines.

New Model: Steeler Panorama FF46

It takes a lot out of the box thinking to come with a project as the Panorama Flat Floor, this new model from Steeler re-invents the wheel how a motor boat can be done and look in today's era. The Steeler 46 Panorama Flat Floor is the first model to launch from this series, which has already a larger 53 sister under construction in Holland. The Steeler Panorama Flat Floor impresses for its 45 squared meters of single floor space, a 5500 liter air tank amidships with can provide buoyancy and make the craft unsinkable, and a vast majority of custom options. For example hull one was built of steel with a displacement hull, but the 53 currently under construction is made of alloy and will feature a more offshore type semi-displacement hull with speeds possibility of 35 knots.

Project: Cranchi 40 Eco Trawler Long Distance

Cranchi presents the third model in its Trawler range. This time around the 1870 founded boat builder, preesnts the entry model; the 40 Eco Trawler Long Distance.  The 40 is in reality a more bare, economic version of the 43. Smaller over-all length due cause of no bathing platform, more empty no radar arch flybrdige, and smaller glass surfaces on the ship side. The 40 just as the 43 will features three options for the lower deck; two or three cabins. In the two cabins options one has a choice of a full beam midships owners room, or a guest room and an utility storage room to port side. Propulsion is all Volvo IPS option and starts from twin Volvo 260 up 330hp units.

New Model: Storm X-53

It is that the Dutch boat builders are on the upswing of things in recent times. Storm Yachts a new brand founded in 2010 is a testimony to this.  The X-53 is its first launch but will soon be followed by two other models currently under construction.  The first X-53 was an F series a letter which stands for France, as this model features a lower profile versus the standard 53 making it easier for river use. The Storm X-53 features a semi displacement Storm Yacht patented hull shape name FDFH, which is suitable for both river and sea cruising.  Her standard interior is a two cabin layout, with a galley below, and a saloon on the main deck. The owners cabin is located forward. Power is twin Perkins 150hp or optional 300hp.

Improve-it = Nordhavn N43

The next generation of Nordhavn 43 is here and going into completion for the fall 2014. Hull 41 is a cut above all other N43s that have gone before her, with a brand new interior layout and styling akin to her luxurious bigger sisters. This boat is currently being built to a prior specification with Stone colored Ultra-leather fabric on the cushions and a glorious grey-veined white granite counter top in the galley. A darker blue-black granite was chosen for the heads. The layout of this new 43 is sure to be a crowd pleaser with an enhanced walk-through accommodations area that flows from the saloon and down a few steps into a hallway. The new configuration allows for a bigger wheelhouse with enough space to add an additional fridge or freezer and chart table.

Project: Cranchi 43 Eco Trawler Long Distance

Cranchi shows off a rendering of what will be a very important novelty for the fall boat shows of 2014, the new 40/43 Eco Trawler LD. To be presented in Cannes this 40/43 project is the second model of Cranchi Trawler range and follows on what the 53 LD brought in looks and technical details. That equals to space in all areas, and good range and handling at moderate slow speeds.  As the above rendering tells us the 40/43 is to be powered by Volvo IPS pod drives, and will feature a semi planning hull. This new smaller Eco Trawler will feature full view windows below, covering all the cabins, and by the looks of this rendering makes best use of space in the lower deck. For example see how far aft that window is. No layout information yet, but watch this space for more.

New Model: American Tug 485

The all new 485 American Tug is now in the water and in the hands of her owner. Hull's two through four are under production at this time. This exciting new project takes over where the original 49 Limited left off. With additional length in the salon and galley over the 435, this model will lend itself to full time live aboards and extended cruising. The performance will be exceptional with the standard 550hp Cummins engine and optional 405hp commercial rated QSL9. Standard fuel is 2400 liters giving her a range over 1500 nautical miles. The 485 comes equipped with a nice standard list which includes Sidepower variable bow and stern thrusters. Overall, the 485 appeals to yachtsman looking to explore beyond the horizon but one who refuses to leave the comforts of home behind. The sea-keeping ability of the proven Lynn Senour designed hulls will keep you calm in the roughest of conditions.

New Model: Greenline 48 Hybrid

Presented during the first month of the year Dusseldorf boat show, the new Greenline 48 Hybrid is an interesting and innovative hybrid explorer motor flybridge cruiser. The 48 Hybrid largest of the Greenline family raises the game in the offer from this builder not only in size but also the quality of the vessel.  Since the launch of the 33 model Greenline has generated a lot of buzz in the industry. Apart in its innovative propulsion solutions the 48 Hybrid strikes for its three double cabin layout, astern galley, and a small ship like main deck. Other interesting details are the optional choices; three for the main deck, and two below. The option on the main deck regards the starboard side behind the helm; this available with entertainment unit, or sofa, and or two chairs. Below is option for two scissor type double to fore instead of a fixed double queen sized berth, and a crew cabin to aft with shower head to aft. Power options are four diesel engines starting at 110hp this giving eleven knots max, up to twin 380 which adds top speed by twelve nautical miles per hour. Greenline 48 Hybrid also features twin fourteen kilowatt propulsion which give a max speed of six knots a cruise of four and an autonomy of 20 nautical miles.

New Model: Hardy 40 DS

In the last year Hardy has made important forward movement in renewing itself and becoming a British builder specialized in explorer type cruisers and yachts. Hardy boats renowned for a strong construction and good sea keeping, are now also starting to look modern outside, what could prove an important statement from the North Walsham builder. The 40 DS comes after the launch of the new 62 flagship from Hardy, a model which shown a lot of attention from the media and experienced boaters alike. The 40 DS is a two cabin boat with an interesting living saloon on the main which features a spacious C-shaped dinette with galley opposite. Helm station is very unusual for a British builder located to port side. The 40 DS features a hull based on the Hardy 42, with a modified version in the optional twin engines version. Standard power is a single Yanmar 440hp.

The Steeler 47 Explorer presents itself as a robust, safe looking working vessel with a classic line that can take the test of time in the looks department. Steeler says the 47 Explorer is comfortable in all environments from the canals thanks to its low air draft, to the seas. The accommodation plan features two cabins with an owners room to fore, a twin guest cabin, galley and dinette below, and a saloon with entertainment area opposite on the main deck. Power is a single or optional twin Deutz 210hp.

New Model: Alaska 46 Sedan Gen III

The new Alaska 46 Sedan Gen-III is the latest version of the best seller for this down under boat builder. In this latest Generation Three version the swim platform had been extended and the room and facilities to fish have been greatly enhanced. The new 46 Alaska Sedan Gen III has also the latest davit system, the Freedom Lift which makes launching and retrieving tender easy. The 46 Alaska Sedan presents excellent all of the living and entertaining on one level. The stainless saloon doors open wide along with dual flip-up rear windows to bring the outside in, this open plan is ideal for entertaining and increased livability. Dual side doors in conjunction with two sunroofs have increased natural ventilation and the new cockpit control station makes the tasks of docking easy. Accommodation now boasts a master stateroom with island queen-size berth amidships with its own en-suite offering less movement and water noise, the second cabin forward has twin large V-shaped single bunks and loads of storage with a guest bathroom to port. The Alaska 46 Sedan Gen III is powered by twin Cummins 425 or optional 480hp engines.

Project: Storm X-53

Dutch builder Storm Yachts is making an important project aimed for those looking for a steel build. The Storm X-53 project will be its entry level model and has the distinguishable design lines and the profile of its larger sisters, it will also have the same Fast Displacement Hull Shape patented underwater lines that guarantees good comfortable sailing characteristics and also increase efficiency at semi dislocating speed by 15 - 20%. Storm Yachts X-53 wants to be ideal for owners who wish to sail downstream on the German Rhine in comfort without the special patent and who want to sail and explore other European waters. But who also have high demands with respect to appearance, finish and quality, according to the highest Dutch standards. The X-53 is also a maneuverable yacht, easy to control by one or two persons, and the low height clearance of 4.10 m ensures that it encounters few obstacles on it's destination.  Maximum speed range for the X-53 is up to 18 knots, with a range of 1300 nautical miles possible at cruise speeds thanks to a three thousand liter fuel tank capacity.

New Model: Rhea 47 Trawler

Boasting excellent autonomy and a comfortable passenger compartment, the new Rhéa 47 Trawler is an authentic long-range explorer cruiser. With outstanding performance in terms of consumption and autonomy, the 47 Trawler designed by Bertrand Danglade offers traditional looks with some nice design solution as the Portuguese bridge and the split level shear line which is an important part of the philosophy of this model. As regards the internal layout, the standard plan offers a fore owners cabins with en-suite shower head, and two guest cabins amidships which share a second shower head. The saloon is spacious with large windows that offer stunning views of the sea and features an adjoining functional galley.  An alternative layout is offered for both the lower and main deck.  The lower deck option can prove interesting for people planning long time aboard since this replaces the third cabin to port side with an utility room.
