New Model: Benetti 140 Veloce

Veloce 140, the new jewel in the crown of the Benetti Class Fast Displacement range, is a yacht with a great personality, deriving both from the technological innovations of the hull and propulsion systems, and from the distinctive design and furnishings. The most distinguishing feature is the new D2P hull designed by Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture Studio and the Azimut-Benetti Research and Development Center. The most obvious advantages consist of the energy-saving, 12 knots cruising speed and the ability to travel at high speeds of over 20 knots in total comfort. Benetti 140 Veloce is a semi-custom yacht with a D2P Displacement to Planing hull an innovative project that excites both Benetti enthusiasts, eager for greater speed, and those who are approaching the Tuscan shipbuilder for the first time, in the knowledge of being able to rely on high-performing yachts with comfortable displacement speeds. The hull, first built for a yacht owner and a trusty Azimut-Benetti customer, is characterized by highly customized interiors, starting with the layout, which may be designed according to the customers' requirements. The Exterior Styling & Concept was developed by Stefano Righini, while the interior design is the work of the British RWD-Redman Whiteley Dixon, in collaboration with the owner's designer. The interior and exterior decor was entrusted to the international architect Joao Armentano. The woods used mainly include light gray Tay and slate gray Tabu for the flooring. The decorative elements are in a silver lacquer finish and the ceilings in alcantara and a white lacquer finish. All stainless steel features come with a satin finish. The interior furnishings are by Minotti, the lamps by Flos and the taps and fittings by Gessi. As regards the technological heart of 140 Veloce, it is worth noting the use of the largest engine ever mounted at the Viareggio Benetti shipyard: two MTU 3500hp engines. Benetti 140 Veloce is also equipped with a system of CMC Marine electrical fin stabilizers.

New Launch: Benetti 56 meter FB260

The style of Italian yacht design masters, the Benetti boatyard's technological prowess, and the owner's magic touch of the East combine to create FB260 a 56 metre yacht whose class is matched only by its outstanding performance. A yacht build of a steel hull and aluminium super structure, the 56-meter super yacht is built on a time-tested naval architecture platform with proven dependability in previous yachts. For Lady Candy, this platform was partially modified with the re-positioning of the wheelhouse on the sun deck and the associated widening of the beam. “Lady Candy” combines interior spaces worthy of a 56-metre vessel with outstanding performance, including a maximum speed of nearly 17 knots, comfort which translates into stability, and almost zero associated vibrations and noise. With naval design from Benetti together with styling from Captain Paul Brackley's Central Yacht Design Studio, the exterior lines of “Lady Candy” have a clearly contemporary feel without diminishing the timeless elegance Benetti yachts are known for. The 962-tonne vessel is majestic yet streamlined, with the five decks highlighted by a harmonious movement stemming from the contrast of the long bands of tinted windows at the upper decks against the white hull. The expert owner is from Asia and is a great enthusiast of the sea and diving. He plans to enjoy Lady Candy together with his family and friends. The owner played an active role in the design of his yacht; he had a particularly strong impact on the interior layout which was custom-designed for him by Central Yacht. For example, the owner explicitly requested that the interiors be given priority over the exteriors, creating an enormous and exciting main saloon that covers 88 squared meters of the main deck; he also had his and his daughter's cabins moved to the upper deck to maximize privacy. The owner was also directly involved in the interior styling and furnishing, which was designed by Central Yacht and the USA interior architecture firm BAMO. The interiors are simple and welcoming. Briar root wood predominates and is combined with soft colours like lilac and jade, reflecting an "international" aesthetic that unites the East and West. For example, since the owner is a diving and underwater enthusiast, the opportunity could not be passed up to locate a fully equipped beach club, complete with bar, gymnasium, steam shower, bathroom and living area right next to the swimming platform, including separate entrances for guests and crew. In terms of performance, Benetti FB260 enables sustained speeds and optimal cruising comfort. Maximum speed is approximately 17 knots, while cruising speed is 16 knots. Fuel-economy speed is 12 knots, with a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

Project: Benetti Class 108 Tradition Supreme

The shape of things to come at Benetti as the builder showcases its upcoming model in its semi custom Class range the 108 Tradition Supreme.  This model is a further development of the 105 and previously 30M Tradition model.  Three decks characterize the second smallest Benetti a feature actually of all the models of the range even the entry level 93 Delfino. The 108 compared to the previous models it replaces has been interestingly reworked to offer guests a special view to the outside to the sea with swiveling balconies and large terrace windows clearly available on the main deck.  Here the most prominent new feature being the opening patio door in the saloon to starboard.  In all this Stefano Righini still manages to create that classic touch to the 108 Tradition Supreme.  Sleeping accommodation is a five double cabin layout with two central VIP suites at midships, and an owners stateroom on the main deck.  Three double crew cabins are located to fore.  Power is twin MAN engines with top speeds estimates at 13 knots.

New Model: Benetti Class 132 Classic Supreme

The technical launch of the first Benetti 132 Classic Supreme was held on Friday, May 4th at the shipyard site in sea side town Viareggio, the new location deputed to the construction of the six composite models of the Class line, from 93 to 145 feet.  Following the customary preliminary steps, the yacht was launched into the water, a ceremony witnessed by technical personnel, workers, and all Benetti staff who oversaw outfitting and construction over the past months.  A mark of design continuity today lasting over a couple of decades, follows the new gem of Benetti's Italian style, and springs from a project with exteriors designed by Stefano Righini and interiors by Francois Zuretti who, for this first boat and following the owner’s indications to draw inspiration from a particularly contemporary style, creates a sober, elegant interplay between the oak natural shade, the warm wenge, and diamond pattern leathers and hide.  The outfitting includes the most modern navigation systems developed by the shipyard: from the innovative integrated wheelhouse to the exclusive BEST technology platform; Benetti Exclusive Sea Technology integrating all onboard electronics and systems.  The new 132 Classic Supreme, among the different design solutions, offers also a gym-area on the upper deck, carving out an exclusive space for the Owner and his guests to further relax.  The 132 Classic Supreme is not just a new model to complete the Benetti Class range; it is also the first model built and outfitted in the Lucca Dockyard, the company’s new 4200 meters squared plus facility. Located adjacent to the historic site in Via Coppino, this facility can simultaneously handle production of three megayachts of up to 140 feet, thus effectively doubling the current production capacity and concentrating production of the entire line in Viareggio.  Power for the new Benetti Class 132 Classic Supreme is twin MTU 1450hp which give a 15 knots, 14 cruise, and a 12 knots long range speed delivering a 3500 nautical miles range.

New Model: Benetti Class 145 Vision

Benetti launches the new Class 145 Vision what is the new line up from this very famous status symbol Super Yacht builder.  As usual to Benetti there was great enthusiasm during the Catholic blessing launch ceremony, which was simple but quite moving. The launch was done in the ancient manner, with the boat entering the water stern-first from the ways of Benetti’s original launching site. The event was attended by the owner and his family and by all the people involved in building this beautiful vessel, that stands out for its modern and innovative design penned by Stefano Righini.  The Benetti Class 145 Vision takes over from the 140 Vision and is recognizable from the older model with darker window profile in the upper structure, although the owners still choose smaller vertical style windows in the cabins of the lower deck which open up again the big glass surfaces as outlined in the renderings of the project. Unlike standard Benetti Class 145 Vision for the interiors of hull sixteenth the owner choice went with Molori Design in collaboration with the staff of the shipyard. In standard the interiors are designed by Francois Zuretti. The contemporary style of the interiors is reflected in every item of furniture, down to the smallest detail, and are based on the personal tastes of the owner.  Molori created an atmosphere of refined decor, with a balance mix of classic and modern elements underscored by the gentleness of the natural materials used for the panelling.  Standard power for the Benetti Class 145 Vision is twin Cats 1300hp which give a top speed of 15 knots, and a cruise of 14.

The first model of the new Benetti Class 121 Classic, was launched last 15 December in Viareggio. The latest restyling of the Classic, this being the third after the first 35 presented in 1999, to the second 120 series, has thoroughly renewed the internal layout by making major changes on the main and lower decks, along the exterior lines which now feature different window profiles all around. But don't be mistaken design duties are as the same as previous two series with Stefano Righini taking care of the outside, and Francois Zuretti the interiors. Much of the first 121 Classic remains top secret, from the name to the interior design. Benetti New Web Site

Renowned status symbol super yacht builder Benetti updates its web virtual showroom to a new platform. Benetti was founded in 1873 by Lorenzo who acquired a Darsena Boatyard near Lucca. He managed the yard for forty years till 1914 when after Lorenzo's death, Gino and Emilio renamed the business as Frattelli Benetti. 1927 sees more of the Benetti family getting involved in the business with Giuseppe and Virgilio Gino's two sons succeeding him, while Maurizio and Bertani, Emilio heirs also join the company. 1941 is an important date for Benetti with the company launching Maria the first diesel powered steel hulled ship. In 1954 the yard is split into two parts; Fratelli Benetti concentrating on sailing and motor boats, and M & B Benetti yard which is dedicated to commercial vessels. 1963 sees Emilio's nephew Giuseppe take the helm helped by his son Lorenzo who will be an important figure to create the Benetti yachting heritage. In 1978 Benetti launches Vanina designed by American architect Kauffmann to win the Admirals cup. This launch is followed a year later by the largest Benetti in length to ever touch the water the 86 metres Nabila designed by Jon Banenberg for owner Adrian Kashoggi. After a couple difficult years Benetti is acquired in 1985 by Azimut chairman Paolo Vitelli, who two years after this launches the steel built Rima to a design of Terrence Disdale. In 1988 a big feat surrounds Benetti with the building of the 27 meter Azimut Atlantic Challenger, which makes a failed attempt to win the Blue Ribbon for the fastest Atlantic Crossing. After this Benetti makes it progress with the launching of the 45 meter Ambrosia designed by Zuretti and Natucci, with the same duo following this a year later for the first 50 meters Golden Bay series. 1998 sees an important strategic move with the partial purchase of the Moschini yard fully completed in 2002, and the launching of the first fiberglass built Benetti 35 metre Classic. More semi custom fiberglass follow the 35 Classic, 2003 30M Tradition, 120 Classic in 2004, and in 2005 the Benetti 24 Legend project is presented. Year 2000 represents an important launch of the 70 meter Reverie in 2000, the second largest Benetti ever built. Benetti's current range is divided into two ranges; Class and Custom. The semi custom Class launched in 2009 offers seven models starting with the 93 Delfino, up to the 164 Vision Supreme. The Custom range can build from 43 meters up to 70 meters, and current New Proposals are six models which start from the alloy constructed 47 Imagination, to a 68M steel super yacht. Benetti new web virtual showroom is available in English and Italian language and takes you around with the following buttons; Brand, Yachts, Events & Media, Captain's Bridge, and Owners Lounge.

New Model: Benetti 47 meter Imagination FB501

Benetti inaugurated a new semi-displacement line, entirely made of aluminum with the new 47m Imagination hull FB501. The first model FB 501 for this new series has been delivered to her owner in mid July 2010. Imagination should be considered the evolution of the Golden Bay line designed by Stefano Natucci, who also signed the new 47-meter yacht. The interiors, completely customized according to the owner’s needs, have been designed by Francois Zuretti, and feature a six double cabins plan. Surely innovative is the owners room having a private terrace with jacuzzi on the fore peak deck. The yacht has exterior lines that are original both in their conception and in form. The new 93 Delfino by Benetti, which starts in size this years introduced semi custom Class range concept builds on the 2007 introduced 85 Legend model with modification to the upper deck and most of the window profile and design. Interior is a spacious five double cabins for guests with the owners suite on the main deck. The living main deck is a three split area having in the entrance the relaxing and dining area, a middle part with day head and galley, and the fore peak reserved for the owners suite. After presenting its new semi custom Class line, which also meant the introduction of five new models, Benetti enriches this with two further totally new projects. Unlike the other projects introduced, these two models are totally new, design from up to down, and hull shape. The 164 Vision Supreme above will be the largest of Benetti's Class semi custom line and is designed by Stefano Righini exterior, and Francois Zuretti interior. Definitely semi custom here is an under statement as the only thing the same will just be the outside. Accommodation in this three decks plus flybridge super yacht will be for twelve guests and eleven crew. Speed is an estimated 16 knots with twin Cat engines. At 49 meters the 164 Vision Supreme is also a new challenge for the Azimut Benetti Group, as it will be its largest ever made fiberglass construction. Both the two new Benetti projects represent a challenge to the since 1873 founded builder, as the Vision above is the largest fiberglass construction ever made, the 132 Classic Supreme hits to one of the most sold super yachts. The Classic series first as 35, then as 120, and now as 121 has sold over fifty units in less to a ten year span surely a top selling number for a thirty five metre plus of length Super Yacht. The new Classic Supreme 132 will be a forty meter three decks plus flybridge deck, and will sit between the smaller top selling 121 Classic, and larger 140 Crystal. Design is again to Stefano Righini exterior, and Francois Zuretti interior. Accommodation is for ten guests in five cabins, and seven crew members. Twin Cat engines should give a 15 knots top speed to a RINA Cross of Malta Class fiberglass constructed 132 Classic Supreme.

Projects: Benetti Class 93 Delfino, Benetti Class 105 Tradition, Benetti Class 121 Classic, Benetti Class 140 Crystal, Benetti Class 145 Vision

For 2010 legendary super yacht builder Benetti decides to overhaul its semi custom fiberglass line into the new Class Range. A change which is in some models is deeper to others, one being totally new, and the remaining being a more make up modification effecting windows and light design touches. A model which is semi new, is surely the 93 Delfino pictured above, which is based on the 85 introduced in 2007. The 93 Delfino keeps the two and a half deck layout, and adds more classic Benetti styling. The interior of the 93 Delfino is very spacious in standard plan being a full five cabins layout, with owners stateroom on the main deck. The project of the Class 105 Tradition replaces the 100 Tradition and is a make up change over for this five cabins, two and a half deck medium sized Super Yacht. As the above rendering shows most of the change represent greater window surface areas and more cleaner and leaner lines. The Classic has been the Benetti which started the fiberglass built line in 2000 for this legendary yachting name. The first Classic was a 35 metre, and later on a slightly larger 120 model based on the same hull was introduced. Today, ten years after its first launch the Classic has been delivered in about fifty units, a super success in a semi custom super yacht. The 121 Classic will be the third series for this hull which has proved to be Super not just in size, but most importantly in sales number for the yachting industry in general. The 140 Crystal is a totally new project for Benetti, and will be a three deck super yacht. A five cabin interior which seems to be a characteristic of all Benetti's is the standard plan for this second largest of the semi custom Class range. Design for this model is entrusted as all the line to Stefano Righini, with interior by Francois Zuretti.
The Benetti Class 145 Vision represents a further evolution of the 140 Vision with light changes to the lines, and a complete new set of windows. So far the 145 Vision is the biggest fiberglass built by the Azimut Benetti Group. Design is again trusted to Righini, with interior for owners and guests by Francois Zuretti. Again the Vision series has proved to be another winner for what is considered the biggest Super Yacht builder in the world with the 140 selling over ten units in a just a couple years time.

Improve-it = Benetti 85 Legend

Benetti, in collaboration with the Research and Development Centre of the Azimut-Benetti Group, based in Varazze, founded in order to give scientific support and boost the know how level of the single brands, developed its first hybrid electrical diesel propulsion. The study of the diesel-electrical propulsion, within the group, started ten years ago with the planning and designing of the M/Y FB231 Ambrosia, launched in 2005, and equipped with the azimuth propulsion. These particularly encouraging results drove the Group to extend its research and the consequent applications onto the smaller boats of the range, choosing however to privilege the displacing yacht segment which, due to the technical characteristics, combines well with this type of propulsion. The pioneer this time is the smallest line of the fleet, the Benetti 85, which, compared to Ambrosia, requires an alternative due to its technical characteristics. Indeed in this case the electrical diesel propulsion is not suggested as a sole solution, but it is placed together with the traditional one in a hybrid system. The primary intention is that of equipping the yacht with an additional and alternative propulsion system compared to the main one which increases the comfort on board as regards to the traditional propulsion. The speed range obtainable with the electrical propulsion varies from 5 to 10 knots, based on the electrical power of the diesel generators available on board. The Hybrid electrical diesel system includes the use of the same components of the traditional propulsion to which we have added electrical motors with permanent magnets and relative "inverters" frequency converters, which, connected to a controlling system, govern the shafting with the main diesel motors being disconnected. The numerous advantages that have been obtained are measurable: reduction in noise, less vibrations on board, and an important percentage in the saving of consumption equal to 40%. A positive environmental impact due to the reduction of emissions into the atmosphere. The commitment undertaken about ten years ago today has led to the creation of a product that can be applied to the entire Benetti range with the possibility of integrating other innovations that the Group is developing for the future, such as the replacement of one of the two electrical generators with a fuel cell generator in order to increase comfort further and reduce the environmental impact. It is currently possible to temporarily install batteries in order to obtain the same effect as the Fuel Cell yet obviously with considerably reduced endurance. The new hybrid electrical diesel propulsion system which is applied onto the Benetti 85 does not only enable to offer concrete advantages in the direction of a Green Yacht but paves the way towards continuous and future developments.

Projects: Benetti 52m Sensation, Benetti 47m Imagination

There are two new ranges of yachts in the plan for the near future at Benetti shipyard: 47m Imagination and 52m Sensation, both with a family feeling and both generated by the creativity of Stefano Natucci. The interior designs, based on the Zuretti concept, will be fully custom. Inspired by the successful line Golden Bay, the steel 52m Sensation is a semi displacement yacht, direct evolution of the Golden Bay line with a glance at the future. Sensation, in schedule to be launched in 2012, and is a 52m x 9.6m yacht. Maximum speed is 18.5 knots. with a range of 3.400 nautical miles at 12 knots (economic speed). She is part of the steel - aluminium range. The 47m alloy Imagination is a fast alloy semi displacement yacht, being a reinterpretation of both the legendary line and the FB246 43m Diane. Imagination, in schedule to be launched in 2010, is a 47m x 8.8m. She can easily reach 24.6 knots as maximum speed with a range of 3.400 nautical miles at 12 knots (economic speed). Hull and superstructure are in Aluminium Alloy.

New Model: Benetti 85 Legend

The new Benetti 85 Legend is the the new entry for the prestigious Viareggio builder fleet, enriching the wide selection offered by this famous constructor. This time, Benetti focuses on a mostly private use of the yacht, enabling ship owners who want to buy it to drive it personally, enjoying a special sense of privacy. Going on board the 85 Legend you will be surprised by the large and functional rooms, which are worthy of the standards of the big yachts of Benetti’s fleet, as the extensive use of wood, precious marble and steel testifies. It has been conceived for the owner and for his family, but its layout includes three cabins beside the one for the ship owner, which is located on the main deck, allowing the presence of up to eight guests on board: a full beam VIP cabin with two large windows which enable to enjoy the view from within the boat, and two stern cabins - each equipped with two beds, one of which is a large single bed - designed with two large windows. The real surprise is represented by the external environments, designed with a very wide sun deck which allows complete relaxation, offered also by the retractable sunshade with the double function of providing protection, thanks to its water tightness, as well during sudden rainfalls which characterize also the Mediterranean summer. If the owner decides for a crew managed motor yacht, it is also possible to host up to three people in two of the cabins, whose rooms, include a large dinette, have been designed on the stern not to interfere with the life of guests on board. Wood, marble and steel are widely used respecting the constructor long tradition.
