Beneteau present a new flagship for its Gran Turismo range with the launch of the 50 model.  The 50 Gran Turismo replaces the 49 model, and as the smaller 40 and 46 models is designed by Italian designers Nuvolari and Lenard for exterior lines.  The Italian Venice designers went for a Gran Turismo family feeling design with all models looking distinctively similar.  The interior of the 50 Gran Turismo is designed by long standing Beneteau designer Andreani who presented two or three cabins layouts, with full beam owners stateroom and lower galley.  If ordering the third cabin this comes as replacement to the lower L-shaped saloon and will offer spacious two inline berths.  The 50 Gran Turismo will be powered by twin Volvo 435hp engines with IPS pod propulsion, no performance numbers have yet been given.  A Sport Fly version is to be presented towards the end of 2017.

Project: Beneteau 35 Swift Trawler

Following the success of the Swift Trawler 34, which dominated the small explorer cruiser long cruise segment for eight years, Beneteau announces the project for its successor, the Swift Trawler 35 set to launch this Summer and presented officially in September at the Southampton boat show. The Swift Trawler 35 is stylish and modern with valuable new spaces indoors and gives an incredible feeling of safety on board.  Built on a semi-planing flared hull, developed with Beneteau and Italian designer Andreani, the Swift Trawler 35 has a Cummins 425 hp engine. The flybridge of the Swift Trawler 35 emphasizes the explorer cruisers harmonious profile yet marks her distinctive long cruise temperament. Broad walkways, lots of hand rails and high push pits exceeding regulation standards reveal the importance attached to safety on board. With regard to visibility, the Swift Trawler 35’s wheelhouse has a full around view and is bathed with natural light. For optimum comfort whatever the weather, the Swift Trawler 35 has opted for a modular exterior. Continuing to the far end of the starboard gangway, the awning closing off the cockpit unfolds quickly and easily from the flybridge structure. The exterior blind of the side door overlooking the gangway shuts off this space, providing privacy. The emphasis on protection is repeated on the flybridge with the semi-hard Bimini or soft top with built-in LEDs. The soft top’s stainless steel arch features the elegant Beneteau signature mark and can be used to support antennas and flags.  The Swift Trawler 35 is designed to offer more space on board, so the flybridge easily seats six people.  With an optional fridge, a driving station with repeated navigation instruments, a rotating driver’s seat and a double sun-lounger at the stern, this fully flush living area offers a comfortable experience on the roof of the boat.  The Swift Trawler 35’s interior is as elegant as it is practical, with matching teak and easy to maintain upholstery. The owner cabin is reached through a gullwing door making it easy to move around. The second twin cabin with bunk beds has a spacious and fully fitted shower room with independent shower. The sofa bed in the saloon provides an extra berth at night and it can be shut off from the wheelhouse by a curtain.

Project: Beneteau 46 Gran Turismo

Its been an important change in design direction in the last year also for the Beneteau Gran Turismo range, which just as the more up market Montecarlo yacht range gets the treatment from Nuvolari Lenard.  The GT 46 incorporates the latest generation Beneteau-designed Air Step Two planing hull, and for the first time offers a choice of Volvo IPS pod drives or stern drive propulsion, with power options up to twin 400hp.  The GT 46 hard top has electrically-powered side glazing so that you can enjoy that “open” feeling. A fully opening glass door also maintains this impression and is available on option.  Available with a choice of two or three cabins, third twin bunk berth cabin taking place of the lower C-shape dinette. the GT 46 offers exceptional guest accommodation, hard to find on this size sport cruiser.

Project: Beneteau 30 Swift Trawler

Beneteau presents the project for a new baby 30 Swift Trawler, the smallest of the latest generation of explorer type cruisers designed by the giant French boat builder. Cut out for high seas, the 30 Swift Trawler is surprisingly comfortable and her autonomy and many fittings are reassuring, making life on board much easier. With a clear-cut combination of style and seaworthiness, you will be tempted by the energy performance of this voyager.  With hand rails omnipresent, high pulpits and a large well-protected starboard walkway, the 30 Swift Trawler maximizes the safety of movements on board. Unique on this type of boat, the panoramic view from the steering station makes for easy driving unobstructed by any obstacle. With an autonomy of around 200 nautical miles at cruising speed and large water tank capacities, the 30 Swift Trawler will take you to places where no other craft of a similar size would dare venture.  Designed for a comfortable lifestyle on board, bright but also simple and practical, the 30 Swift Trawler provides multiple modular fittings. The interior space is optimized reflecting the large open spaces you will be bound to explore. The cockpit opens onto the sea in the form of a terrace, with foldaway seats, a convertible sofa, and a well-designed table sliding beneath the seats to increase the amount of space in this reception area, and suiting all crew configurations.  One or two cabins layouts are offered below deck.  While engine options start from a single 300 or optional 370hp unit.

Project: Beneteau 40 Gran Turismo

Following the success of both the big and medium size Montecarlo range, Italians from Venice designers Nuvolari Lenard continue to make head winds in designing boats for the Beneteau Group.  This time around the French company which currently is the largest boat building firm in the World, has given to the Italian duo instructions to design a Gran Turismo model, the 40.  The 40 is a replacement of the 38 and once you see the plans you will notice there is not much difference on the layout inside of the replacing model, which I remind to my readers was also a further tweak of the 37 Monte Carlo.  None the less having worked with the outside the new 40 Gran Turismo looks from the exterior a very different model, much more aggressive and sporty then the 38.  At this point what will be interesting is if the Nuvolari Lenard is a one off for the Gran Turismo range or a full line up tweak.  I am sure a couple of years from now we will have that reply.

New Model: Beneteau 50 Swift Trawler

With this latest 50 Swift Trawler, I think Beneteau and designer Joubert-Nivelt break a bit the schematics of the line not only in the looks department which are more modern, but also under the water line for offering Volvo IPS pod propulsion in this series for the very first time.   Anyways the Swift Trawler range is a bit the compromise for those who want an explorer cruiser or yacht with a more modern style and a medium range possible with some fuel savings.  The 50 Swift Trawler offers an interesting spacious accommodation plan in all areas from the flybridge to its all around deck, and a full beam midships owners cabin.  A three double cabins plan is featured below with the option in layout two to make the double bunk cabin to port side into an office and having one berth.  The main deck is split level with a galley behind the helm and welcoming saloon to aft.  Power is twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pods.

Project: Beneteau 50 Swift Trawler

Created in 2003, Beneteau Swift Trawler range has seen good support from boaters who look for a more gentle to run Explorer Cruiser and Yacht.  This new Swift Trawler 50 project designed by Joubert Nivelt exterior and hull, and Frutschi for the interior layout will feature some important novelties for the range which with second large addition will feature five models from 34 to 52.  The Beneteau 50 Swift Trawler will be the first in the range to use Volvo pod drive units in this case the twin IPS600 units with 435hp six cylinder engines.  In the renderings and video footage show the 50 Swift Trawler to feature a welcoming and cozy split level saloon with the classic relax area in the entrance, and a galley dining and helm to fore.  The flybridge looks also particularly spacious especially if you include the aft area where the tender is located. But worth to note is that the flybridge area looks particularly safe thanks to the all around fiberglass protection sides.  Below will be an owners room located to midships, a VIP suite to fore, and a choice of a third cabin or office by the companion way. A crew cabin is available to aft.

New Model: Beneteau 49 Flyer Gran Turismo Fly

A new model the Beneteau 49 Flyer Gran Turismo Fly which comes from the rethinking of the 47 Monte Carlo Fly.  The main differences here come from the addition of an extended up and down moving bathing platform and new larger view windows serving the cabins below.  Accommodation below keeps the standard setting of  two cabins, with the owners room located to midships and being full beam.  In between the cabins is an L-shaped galley, and C-shaped saloon settee. The old 47 Monte Carlo used to have a choice for a third cabin bunk in replacement of the saloon, but this so far is not shown in the plans of the 49.  The 49 Flyer Gran Turismo Fly also features a tender garage.  Power is from twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pod drives.

Project: Beneteau 49 Flyer Gran Turismo Fly

Beneteau presents the project for the new 49 Flyer Gran Turismo Fly, a model which is an evolution of the 47 Monte Carlo Fly.  This previous Beneteau range now being replaced by the Flyer series.  The 49 Flyer Gran Turismo Fly main difference will be an extension of the bathing platform, which now also features a hydraulic up and down movement.  This modification makes it possible to carry two tenders, this including the stern garage.  Obviously a sleek profile is part of this model, along a nearly invisible but quite spacious flybridge.  Another visual difference is to be found on the large view windows for the fore VIP cabin. Accommodation is a choice of two or three cabins below, with a living located on the main deck.  Power is from twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pod drives.

Projects: Beneteau 49 Flyer Gran Turismo, Beneteau 44 Flyer Gran Turismo

Beneteau continues to extend the Flyer Gran Turismo range and presents the 49 Flyer Gran Turismo project.  This project is based on the 47 Monte Carlo which it will replace, but features important novelties mostly coming from extended windows on the main deck, new larger view windows for the fore VIP cabin and an up and down hydraulic bathing platform to aft.  Thanks to the bathing platform and tender garage it will be possible for the 49 Flyer Gran Turismo to carry two tenders.  The interior plan should offer the same layout of a two or three cabin choice as the Monte Carlo model. Power is again trusted to twin Volvo 435hp engines with IPS600 pod drives.
The Beneteau 44 Flyer Gran Turismo project is rethinking of the most recent 42 Monte Carlo model.  As the 49, the 44 Flyer Gran Turismo are similar offering new view windows in the forward VIP cabin, and a larger more extended bathing platform.  But the aft sunpad does look a bit larger in the renderings shown on the website, which will be a result of a larger tender garage.  Inside the 44 Flyer Gran Turismo should offer a spacious two cabins layout, with the galley and large fridge standing out as one of the largest in this size type boat.  Power should again be for twin Volvo 370hp with stern drives.

New Model: Beneteau 32 Antares

Beneteau launches its seventh model of the Antares inboard engines line up, the 32 flybridge model.  Sitting the middle of the range the 32 Antares is again a design of Beneteau Power Boats, and Sarazin and is based on the hull lines of the 30 model with the main difference being a twin engine choice.  For this not so big cruiser the Beneteau design team was inspired by the looks of the larger Antares models.  Inside the 32 Antares offers two cabins with a main deck having a galley, saloon which transforms to an additional double berth, and lower helm.  The owners room is located to fore, and a two berth with bunks guest cabin is located to port side.  Power is from twin 200hp diesel engines with shafts, this being also a major difference from the 30 Antares model on which the 32 is based.  On this hull form Beneteau has been clever to release three different models; 30, 30S, and 32 Antares all suiting to different client needs.
