Tecnorib presents its new World wide web showroom.  Tecnorib was founded in 2005, with a mission to build and design Pirelli branded ribs.  For this purpose an agreement was signed with Pirelli Group to use the trademark of the famous tire maker.  In May 2006 during the Pirelli Regatta in Santa Margherita Ligure, Tecnorib debuted its first 770 model.  Over the years the Tecnorib Pirelli line will be extended with sizes reaching fourteen meters with the 1400 model in 2016, and a line of tenders introduced in 2015.  In 2017 Tecnorib enters a new agreement with Pirelli Design, and in the same year a new flagship 1900 model is introduced.  Today Tecnorib Pirelli offers nine models from 4.5 to 19 meters in two Tender and Speedboat lines.  Tecnorib Pirelli entry level model is the T45 from the Tender line, the flagship is the 1900 from the Speedboat line, while the latest news is the 42 introduced in early 2020.  Tecnorib Pirelli website takes you around with the following buttons; Home Page, About Us, Tender, Speedboat, Dealer, News, Press, Download, Video, and Contacts. New Model: Fipa Maiora 35 Exuma

Following the great rewarded success of the Maiora 36 Harmony and 30 Walkaround, Gruppo Fipa presents a brand-new 2020 model: the 35 Exuma.   This new 35 meters super yacht features impressive and innovative solutions in order to provide all the guests with an unforgettable cruising and living experience on board.  Refreshing light that embraces all spaces harmoniously, excellent maneuverability, amazing low draft for shallow waters, smooth cruising, as well as total privacy guaranteed for everyone: this is what you find on board 35 Exuma.  In this unique work, Fipa Maiora meets the demanding and challenging requirements of the client and the result is a super personal motor yacht with a helm station located at the bow of the main deck: this is an exclusive area for the Captain that can be easily reached from his accommodation. The huge drop down windows, as well as the stern door which totally opens up and “disappears”, turn a closed space, where you can comfortably have lunch, into a completely open area where you can enjoy a cocktail at the golden hour or have dinner with family and guests under the stars, thanks to the sliding “moon-roof”.  The interiors of Maiora 35 Exuma are sober and elegant, in order to reflect the style of her Owner: wengè, walnut, oak wood meet with their different shades to create an incisive and intense contrast. You will experience a sophisticated atmosphere also thanks to the glossy grey and absolute black laquer that feature the galley; while matt darker laquer of grey stone tones are used for both crew and master heads.  The wide main salon is largely enriched by a unique piece of furniture: it is a superb slate cellar placed at the entrance and aimed to preserve bottles of wine and the owner’s precious tequila collection. This really gives a touch of uniqueness.  The outside areas are featured by Paola Lenti furniture that harmonically come together with the open-air spaces and al-fresco aft cockpit.  Maiora 35 Exuma can accommodate up to eleven guests: the master stateroom is on the main deck and is featured by a floor-to-ceiling wide window. Four cabins are located on the lower deck, including another shipowner’s cabin placed longitudinally to enjoy the sight at its best. To finish the lower deck layout, two double bed cabins and a double cabin with pullman berth: all these cabins are equipped with TV which comfortably fold down from the ceilings and all the beds are strategically placed to offer the best sight of the sea, thanks to the large windows inside the cabins. Finally, the crew quarters can accommodate up to five members.   Maiora 35 Exuma is powered by two MJP waterjets and a central booster jet, powered by three Caterpillar 1925hp engines. The combination of the waterjet propulsion and the innovative design of the hull allow to reach a top speed of 35 knots in total comfort and with no vibrations on board.  Cruising is extremely efficient up to 28-30 knots, while at the economical speed of 10 knots, the 35 Exuma has an impressive range of about 1600 nautical miles, with a fuel capacity of 22,000 litres. Despite the great performances, absolute comfort is always guaranteed by two Seakeeper 35 gyroscopic stabilizers, designed to reduce the rolling of the ship up to 95%, both underway and at anchor.  In addition, the owner asked to extend the concept of comfort also to the toys: placing the garage on one side makes extremely easy the launch of a six meter tender.  It is unusual to find a big tender on a 35 meter super yacht. The Owner, in this way, can easily reach exclusive beaches or take his guests to the harbor without any problem. The crew has a dedicated four meter tender for their own service.  The Maiora 35 Exuma resembles the super yacht for those who want to enjoy the sun and the on-board life in long distance cruises, have fun, discover wonderful places and hidden landscapes. Thanks to a draft of less then two meters she is ideal to explore the waters and beaches of Cat Island, Abacos, Paradise Island and, indeed, Exumas.  Maiora 35 Exuma has just been launched this July 2020, and will first cruise the Mediterranean, before heading to the Bahamas.

Project: Horizon FD92

Horizon present the project for a first tri-deck FD Series, the FD92 satisfying the owner who desires both an enclosed skylounge and an open flybridge. This five-stateroom super yacht offers a full-beam, on-deck master and four additional staterooms on the lower deck along with crew quarters for three. The uppermost deck comes equipped with a helm, seating and small bar while a six-person Jacuzzi, seating, sunpads and fridge/icemaker comprise the lounging area on the fore-deck. The Horizon FD92 features a fully equipped beach club and a Hi/Lo swim platform with a “transformer” stair section to facilitate easy water access.  The Horizon FD92 will be powered by twin MTU 1600hp engines.

New Model: Beneteau Gran Turismo 36

Beneteau presents the new Gran Turismo 36 model. A project of Andreani, the Gran Turismo 36 is an evolution of a size range and type of boat, the sport cruiser which has shown the French boat building giant grow not little in recent years.  This growth by Beneteau was not by chance, but happened thanks to an evolution of looks and design which has always acted quickly.  In the Gran Turismo 36 we see this quick thinking, from the squared off bow, single level main deck, option of larger bathing platform, and the choice of outboard propulsion.  This last has taken the motor boating World sub twelve meters by storm in recent years.  The Beneteau Gran Turismo 36 has a two cabins lower deck; with a forward owners cabins with full walk around double berth, and guest cabin with double berth to midships.  In between two cabins is an L-shaped saloon to port side, with opposite galley, and head with enclosed shower stall.  Outside the Gran Turismo 36 shines with an aft sun-pad, C-shaped settee, and two forward facing settees one of which is the helm station to starboard.  The Beneteau Gran Turismo 36 is powered by standard twin Volvo 270hp and or optional 300hp engines, with the outboard version powered by Mercury 300hp or optional 350hp units.

Fairline Sport Cruiser Partially Sinks in Majorca

A rather new, possibly just about one year old Fairline Targa 45 sport cruiser partially sank the morning of fifteen July while moored in its berth in Puerto Portals marina, Palma de Mallorca, Majorca the large island of the Spanish Balearic islands archipelago.  The reason of the accident is still unknown, the sport cruiser was reported as unattended when it started to take in water, and later on sank.

The Targa 45 Open was launched by Fairline in the fall of 2018, the second model designed by Alberto Mancini and from the new ownership following Fairline's 2015 bankruptcy.  The Fairline Targa 45 features a two cabins interior with four or five berths, and is powered by Volvo 435hp engines with IPS pod drives which enable it to reach 32 knots top speeds.

Project: Evo Yachts Velar 78

In December 2019, designer Valerio Rivellini launched a new concept for a stunningly innovative 70 foot yacht that also incorporates the strengths of a sailboat. This concept has been transformed into a working project through synergy between the designer’s desire to break free of convention and the strategic vision and construction capabilities of Evo Yachts, the Blue Emme Yachts brand that has built a reputation on the market both for its range of open yachts with “XTension” bulwarks and for its tenders. In partnership, they developed Rivellini’s Velar 70 concept and transformed it into the Velar 78, with content and dimensions that make it a better fit for the shipyard’s development plans. Velar 78 is a 24 meter explorer motor yacht with a refined, minimalist design created for a leisurely and relaxed lifestyle at sea. It is a yacht that defies classification, combining the strengths of both motor yachts and sailboats.  Velar 78 goes beyond the expected. The big yacht wheel gives the owner the sensation of captaining a sailboat, while the helm station in the deck house offers a protected alternative out of the elements, equipped with a joystick drive that is perfect for complicated maneuvering or in rough seas and replaces the wheel, like on an aircraft. The glazed surfaces in the deck house are designed to disappear completely out of view, turning the boat into a pure open with T-top.  Velar 78 is a yacht for owners who want to experience the thrill of travel in a new but yet traditional way, mindful of reduced consumption and eco-sustainability. The keywords are contemplation, sharing and convenience. This model therefore represents the first step in a new direction of innovation and real progress, as well as a confirmation of the successful partnership between the shipyard and the designer. Evo Yachts and Valerio Rivellini are back at work together after creating high profile models like the multiple award winning R4, R6, and T2 tender.  With the Velar 78, on which construction work recently began and will be completed in early 2021, Evo Yachts adds a new series, the Velar line, to expand the existing range: the R-Line, with the R4, R4WA and R6 models, and the T-line with the T2 and, coming soon, the T3 model.

Sport Yacht Fire in Gouvia Marina Corfu

A sport yacht of about sixteen meters in length caught fire in Gouvia Marina on the Greek island of Corfu, on the evening of thirteen July.  Fire fighters from both the pier and the sea tried to turn off and slow the fire, with moderate success.  The sixteen meter sport yacht eventually partially sank, and no injuries are reported from the fire since the boat is reported as unattended at the moment of the fire.  The sport yacht was later fully floated.

The sixteen meter sport yacht of the fire is a Prinz 54 Coupe, and is powered by twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pod drives. The Prinz 54 Coupe offers a three double cabins interior layout.  Prinz was a Belgium brand which was founded in 2001 and had good success with its 31 to 40 models in open and fly version in the first decade of the second millennium.  The 54 Coupe was the largest model ever made by Prinz, and sold rather well as it was one of the first IPS propelled boats above fifteen meters in size when it launched in 2006.

New Model: Nordhavn 41

Pacific Asian Enterprises, Inc. announces the launch of the first Nordhavn 41. Hull #1 splashed in the Aegean Sea last week and will commence with seatrials this week. She will undergo other testing before being prepared to ship in mid-July. The first hull will be delivered to her buyer in the northeast U.S.  Currently 14 the of the first 20 hulls have been reserved, sight unseen, pointing to the design’s broad appeal. What’s more, the boat is drawing on a truly international base with buyers coming from all over the globe including America, Turkey, Denmark, South Africa and Australia. Additionally, of the first five hulls completed, two will cruise right out of Turkey, taking advantage of Nordhavn’s offer to allow buyers to spend time cruising the Mediterranean before shipping the boat to their home port, with Nordhavn handling shipping logistics.  Upon the Nordhavn’s 41 arrival to the East coast, the Nordhavn’s vice president Jim Leishman and Chief of Design Jeff Leishman, will fly from CA to inspect her.  The Nordhavn 41 is the smallest boat in ocean-crossing line-up. She has a range of three thousand nautical miles and an anticipated cruise speed of around seven knots. She succeeds the N40, Nordhavn’s previous smallest couple’s passage maker, of which 69 hulls were built. The Nordhavn 40 is celebrated for setting the world record for fastest circumnavigation made by a production power boat.

Ferretti New Web Site

Ferretti Yachts presents its new World wide web virtual showroom.  Ferretti started up in 1968 with brothers Norberto and Alessandro expanding their car selling business into boat and yacht selling, with Chris Craft, Italcraft, and Sanlorenzo brands dealership.  Three years after this in 1971 Ferretti present their first boat a ten meter motor sailor build in a collaboration with Franchini of wood, who also designs the boat.  In 1980 Ferretti start the work to enter into motor boating, which leads to the Altura 38 Fly designed by race legend Fabio Buzzi debuting in 1982, which is Roadster and Estate versions a year later.  After a total of twelve models from the nine meter Meneghino to the nineteen meter Altura 61 the last Ferretti sail boat was build in 1988, and showed the innovation with the company being a pioneer in the raised saloon style, and today having a following in the used brokerage market.  After a total switch from sail to power the scope of the marque for innovation, quality and bigger boats takes a new step and in 1987 as Ferretti builds its first boat over fifty feet with the 52 Altura model, and in 1997 also presents its first super yacht over eighty feet with the 80 model.  An important step for Ferretti was also made in 1990 when Rome designer Giovanni Zuccon takes over from Pusceddu, his first design being the 54 model later renamed to 175 Fly and 60 produced till 1997.  From there onward Ferretti and Zuccon worked together non stop till 2017 with all the models of the Forli company designed by the renowned Italian designer.  From 2018 onward the new Ferretti designer is Filippo Salvetti who has designed the latest new four models; 670, 720, 500 and 1000.  In 1996 Ferretti founded Ferretti Custom Line, as a line with its aim of building bigger super yachts outside the Forli and Cattolica factories, with the first model the 94 launching in 1998.  The largest Ferretti build will be the 1000, to be launched this year, while under the Ferretti Custom Line the flagship is the Navetta 42.
