Project: Mulder 34M

Mulder Shipyard is delighted to announce that they have signed an agreement to build a 34 meter motor yacht. This will be Mulder’s largest yacht built so far and also their first over 300 gross tonnage. With this order, the total number of Mulder yachts under construction is raised to seven. Mulder Shipyard already delivered a Mulder 73 Flybridge, a Mulder Favorite 1300 Cabrio and a Mulder 75 Wheelhouse earlier this year. British design agency Claydon Reeves will be responsible for both interior and exterior design of the 34 metre custom built, steel displacement yacht and the naval architecture will be the work of the Dutch Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Obviously the Mulder 34 metre will be built to super yacht standards. The Mulder has a GT from 315 tons and will be built under RINA LY3, MCA classification and transatlantic range. She will enjoy many features that are usually only associated with larger yachts, in both operations and design, and will surpass the highest expectations.

In continuing to improve, Marlow Yachts introduce the all new Explorer 66E. Part of the new series of models, this remarkable yacht features Marlow latest contoured lines and exciting new features and layout. Starting at the top, the Marlow 66 Explorer command bridge features twin helm chairs and a large settee with table, enabling all guests joining the captain on the bridge to relax in comfort. The upper aft deck has another settee and table, a gas BBQ grill and hidden day head. Even with the dinghy on deck, there is ample room for lounging. A built in stair leads to the lower aft deck for easy transit up and down. The newly designed cockpit features a radius transom with a center stairwell along with two built in corner settees with tables, greatly enhancing the social aspect of the aft deck. Stairs lead down to the swim platform providing a safe passage. A hidden swim ladder provides easy water access and the platform is a perfect landing for the tender or fishing. The contoured transom increases the stowage area in the lazarette for tools, toys and equipment.  Upon entering the salon, the expansiveness of the room find its place with its finely crafted furnishings. Immediately inside the door to both port and starboard, are the wine cooler, ice maker and wet-bar with intricate curved glass cabinets allowing easy access from both inside and the aft deck. There is a long curved built-in sofa on starboard side and two comfortable lounge chairs on the port. The hidden television is midships and there is a desk with a printer station in the forward part of the salon starboard side. Up three steps is the spacious pilothouse area with a large U-shaped galley forward, which is bathed in natural light and a full view. A large dinette faces forward for dining and lounging with a view.  The companionway to the lower deck leads to a sunlit foyer-type area. At the foot of the stairs is a hidden laundry station with a stacked washer and dryer with easy access. There is a single bunk berth  with a large storage cabinet for cleaning supplies or extra linens below. The VIP stateroom in the bow has an island queen sized bed with two upper bunks outboard. The port-side guest suite has twin bunks and a private head with full shower, cedar lined hanging lockers and ample drawer capacity.  The master suite occupies the middle part of the yacht for least amount of motion and most comfort. As you enter through double arched doors the room opens into a spacious yet wonderfully cozy stateroom. The king bed is center with large bureaus and hanging lockers port and starboard. There are two complete his and hers heads with gleaming fixtures, frameless glass shower stalls and marble floors on either side of the entry forming a hall for separation even when the doors are open.

Project: Post 42 Open

Its a new era for Post who are presenting three important new projects. The Post 42 Open, is the first express sportfish model offered by the 1957 founded boat builder.  This new project  is built to showcase the new era of Post Yachts since a couple of years also located in Maryland, out from New Jersey and by the specification on the web site seems to be based on the hull of the standard flybridge convertible 42. The 42 Open will be the first Post to also be offered with pod drive propulsion, a center console style bridge deck, and functional interior layout options that utilize all available interior space. So far no layout details are shown of the new 42 Open, but Post do have a fame for offering comfortable and well laid interior layouts, without loosing touch of the fishing abilities served by its cruisers and yachts.

New Model: Goose 43 Trawler

Goose yachts is an interesting new builder which comes from Turkey, and presents its first model the 43 Trawler, which features to say the least an original exterior.  Also a rare occurrence for an explorer cruiser and yacht is that the 43 Trawler is build in cold molded mahogany and epoxy resins method. Interestingly the original exterior looks offer a clever layout plan both inside and outside.  For example the 43 Trawler is a full ship like walk around with deep more then one foot bulwarks from bow to stern. Not bad for a cruiser measuring thirteen meters! As the curved rising shear line amidships notes the passageway to fore is split by four rising steps.  The interior offers a main deck with all the convivial areas; astern L-shaped galley looking to the aft cockpit by the patio door, settee, and an L-shaped dinette in the lower part. Three steps up lead to the raised part which features another L-shaped settee to port side of the helm station to starboard. Below is two cabins, with an owners room to fore, and a twin berth cabin amidships.  Power is twin Yanmar 330hp which give max speed of 20 knots, and a 10 knots cruise.

Project: Hatteras GT70

Seems the just past Fort Lauderdale boat show was big news for Sportfish yachts passionate's, with two of the legendary brands announcing important new projects. Since stopping the production of the 68 in the Convertible line in 2012, there was a big model hole which spanned fourteen feet in the Hatteras sportfish series. This project Hatteras GT70 seems to be the answer to this hole, and a continuation of the expansion of the very nice looking GT series which so far features three models; 54, 60, and 63.  The GT70 will offer four layout interior plan choices; all of which offer four double guest cabins and three heads, plus one crew cabin berth with a private shower head.  The owners stateroom is located in the middle of the lower deck to starboard with the double berth looking to the ship side.  The main deck has two choices with the main difference here is for having an internal staircase for the flybridge. Below the option revolves around the midships located fourth cabin which in the optional choice is larger and offers a french berth plus a bunk, versus the two bunks of the standard layout.  Power and performance has not been mentioned, but if the other GT series can be prove of anything we can think around a 40 knots top end speed.

New Model: Cranchi 54 HT

Looking at this Cranchi 54 HT model it certainly impresses for having on appearance the largest hull view window ever seen on a boat.  But do not be impressed as the window size on the 54 HT is the same as that of the Fly version, a vertical box shape serving the owners cabin amidships.  The black painting on hull one make you think it is a full glass area.  This new Cranchi 54 HT is a model based on the Fly model presented in 2012, with everything being the same minus the flybridge up top.  Still for those looking for a private sunpad, the 54 HT does offer one up top reachable from a ladder in the aft deck to starboard.  Can we call this a sun-bridge?  Just to refresh the layout of the 54, this HT offers a lower deck dedicated to three large double cabins, and a main deck featuring a convivial area joining saloon and galley.  The owners room is a full beam amidships layouts with private en-suite head and a double queen sized berth looking to starboard side.  Power is twin Volvo 625hp engines with IPS pods propulsion.

New Model: Outer Reef 860 Cockpit Motor Yacht

The new 860 by Outer Reef is the largest Cockpit Motor Yacht series, and shares hull with the 800 Motor Yacht and 860 Deluxbridge.  This new fully customized Outer Reef 860 Cockpit Motor Yacht featured an interior designed by Destry Darr designs with its owner requesting a very open play layout of the main deck. For example in other Outer Reef the lower pilot house is separated from the galley and saloon, but on this model this is a fully open plan.  Consequently if desired this can be spited thanks to a mounted bulk head. The interior was finished in high gloss walnut, and beech-wood also unusual materials for an Outer Reef yacht.  The standard accommodation layout of the 860 Cockpit Motor Yacht offers three double cabins, and a large crew lobby with twin berths to aft.  Owners stateroom is located amidships.  Standard power for the Outer Reef 860 Cockpit Motor Yacht is win Cats 705hp engines.

Project: Overmarine Mangusta 42 Oceano

The second model in the Overmarine Mangusta Oceano displacement line, is a 42 metre yacht in steel and aluminium designed by Alberto Mancini, presented in project at the 2013 Monaco show. The project was developed by designer Alberto Mancini, who with it begun his working relationship with Overmarine Mangusta. To the history book this is also the first time Overmarine has used an other designer outside of Stefano Righini, who we can say has climbed the ladder of success along with Mangusta. Mancini has been able to exalt the successful stylistic features and family feeling of Mangusta Maxi Open yachts and interpret them to create a triple deck displacement yacht: the result is a super yacht, modern and elegant, whose proportions are expressed in a blend of sharp, taut lines combined with softer sections. A careful study of light and a new concept which provides for two innovative areas have been developed on-board Mangusta 42 Oceano: on the bow deck the external area features two separate sunbathing areas which plunge into a swimming-pool with a continuous waterfall. A glazed skylight on the bottom of the pool brings light and translucence to the head in the owner suite on the underlying deck. Astern, on the other hand, the hatch has been fitted with glazed transverse cuts through which a real furnished beach area can be glimpsed. Once open, it stretches out over the sea creating a platform where the glazed surfaces turn into a source of natural light allowing the nocturnal lighting of the underwater beams fitted astern to filter through. Painstaking care has been taken over the lighting design, and the concept of the beach club skylight also appears on the external decks where transparency has been achieved through the glazed bases of the steel and glass tables set on all three decks of the yacht.  The interiors have been designed in order to accommodate up to twelve guests ensuring their total privacy and freedom of movement, as well as seven crew members.  The main deck houses the salon and dining-room, the lobby, the galley and the full-beam owner stateroom at bow which features a terrace over the sea.  Everything converses with the exterior here: the salon features huge windows through which natural light enters and a sliding door which opens up and overlooks a panorama directly over the sea. The owner suite, on the other hand, communicates between the night and head areas through sliding glazed doors, creating a unique environment where the diaphanous sky of the head welcomes the refraction of the water in the swimming-pool on the overlying sunbridge.  Glazed transparency brings light to the various different environments, increasing the perception of space.  There are four guest cabins on the lower deck, two double and two twin, all with en-suite heads. At bow there is the crew area formed of three double cabins. The Captain’s cabin, on the other hand is on the upper deck next to the helmstation.  Alberto Mancini’s proposal for the interior design features soft contrasts of warm and cold materials: dove-grey oak flooring, bleached teak and sycamore bulkheads, ‘games’ of alcantara, leather and steel combined with fabrics and linen, silk and soft leather sewn onto panels.  Powered by two MTU 1448hp engines, the 42 Oceanco  has a cruise speed of 11 knots, a pace which makes it possible to cover a distance of over 4000 nautical miles at a time. The top speed on the other hand reaches 15 knots, + 1 knot with the optional larger twin MTU 1931hp.

New Model: Absolute 45 Fly

It has to be one of the best medium sized flybridge motor cruisers to what concerns layout, and clever design to have been presented in its size.  This is in short words the Absolute 45 Fly, who continue with the clever intuition this builder has showed since its inception a decade ago. An evolution of the two years ago launched 43, Absolute says that a lot of the input for the 45 comes from the launched past year 72 Fly flagship, but I add that design and layout wise this nice new model learns a lot from the 55 series, also presented in 2012, which is among the best yachts in its size type yacht to what concerns space and plan usage. The Absolute 45 Fly main attractions are the astern galley, spacious full beam midships owners room, large view windows in both decks, and the aft sun-pad. To like is the windows surrounding the main saloon with the large openings to fore in both port and starboard sides.  The 45 Fly also surprises for offering an extra single berth third cabin to aft, which can be categorized as crew quarters but can also be viable as an extra guest cabin. Absolute finishes this cabin to the same standard as the rest of the inside.  The 45 Fly is powered by twin Volvo 435hp engines, with Absolute continuing its full support as since 2006 to the IPS pods which also for a couple of years propels all its line.
