Azimut Best Yacht Over 80ft at Motor Boat Awards
The Azimut Fly 82, one of the highlights of boot Düsseldorf 2026, has received a prestigious industry accolade, a win at the Motor Boat Awards, presented annually by the renowned magazine Motor Boat & Yachting. During the award ceremony held in Düsseldorf on January 20th, the jury honoured the Fly 82 in the category of motor yachts exceeding 80 feet for “its elegant style inside and out, its fabulous deck spaces and its impressive pace, refinement and efficiency,” confirming it as a benchmark of excellence in the segment. This achievement is the result of Azimut’s collaboration with Alberto Mancini, who designed the exterior lines to convey a strong sense of motion, even when the yacht is at anchor. Innovative design solutions – such as the Deck2Deck Terrace™, which extends the cockpit area thanks to the teak-clad garage door that lifts up to the level of the Main Deck – maximize onboard liveability, together with the interiors by Fabio Fantolino, who interpreted the project through a refined interplay of materials, elements and finishes, creating spaces of remarkable balance and elegance. The Fly 82 also stands out for the technology on board. Azimut chose this model to introduce WATCHIT Eye, the new AI-based collision-prevention system for recreational boating, developed by marine-tech company WATCHIT in collaboration with the Azimut|Benetti Group’s R&D department.

Jarrett Bay Four Decades of Craftsmanship
Jarrett Bay Boatworks didn’t begin as a company trying to make a name for itself. It started in 1986 as a charter captain’s solution to a problem—an aging boat. What began as one captain building a better boat has grown into four decades of custom builds shaped by long days on the water, rough runs home, and lessons learned at sea. From the earliest hulls built to work rather than chase trends, the philosophy has remained consistent. While the boats have grown more refined over the years, they are still built with the expectation that they will be run hard. The 40th anniversary celebrates a legacy of trust earned offshore, one boat and one crew at a time.
Jarrett Bay 2025 Captain of the Year
A proud moment to the Jarrett Bay family! Congratulations to Capt. Brent Gaskill, named 2025 Captain of the Year in the Release Marine International Division aboard Hull 59, 64’ Jarrett Bay Builder’s Choice
Next Group Record Breaking 2025
Next Yacht Group, the Viareggio-based shipyard that brings together the AB Yachts and Maiora brands, reports on a 2025 that marks one of the most significant phases in its industrial development. “The past year stands out for concrete and measurable achievements, obtained in remarkably short timelines for the yachting sector, confirming the Group’s solidity and the effectiveness of the growth strategy we have undertaken,” said Giorgio Mattei, Deputy President of Next Yacht Group. “We have worked on a new positioning and a distinctive brand identity, initiated high-profile strategic collaborations—among which the partnership with couturier Elie Saab stands out—establishing ourselves as a benchmark in international yachting. We have succeeded in combining artisanal excellence, technological innovation, and industrial vision, laying solid foundations for future challenges.” “In recent years, Next Yacht Group has seen extraordinary growth, strengthening its international presence and revitalizing the Maiora and AB Yachts brands with clear vision. Over the past year, the Group recorded an order book exceeding 100 million euros, finalized 10 sales—across AB Yachts and Maiora—alongside 6 launches, 4 deliveries, and the unveiling of 4 new projects: AB Yachts AB110s, Maiora M|30, M|38, and 42 Exuma, as well as two world premieres on the water: AB95 at the Cannes Yachting Festival and 36 Exuma at the Monaco Yacht Show,” added Giacomo Benelli, the Group’s Chief Sales Officer. “In this regard, the Group’s presence at major international boat shows has been redesigned and strengthened, with stops in Dubai, Palm Beach, Venice, Cannes, Monaco, and Fort Lauderdale.” 2025 was also a year of technological breakthrough with the launch of the NEXT AI-Integrated System, the first proprietary fully integrated, local-first Artificial Intelligence platform installed onboard. The system provides yachts with a true “local brain,” capable of autonomously managing all onboard functions without relying on an internet connection, setting a new standard for innovation in the industry. The Next AI-Integrated System will be available across the shipyard’s entire range starting this year. “For the first time in its history, Next Yacht Group entered the world’s Top 20 yacht builders in the Global Order Book, reaching 15th place with 19 units—both under construction and delivered—from September 2024 to September 2025, for a total of 635 cumulative meters, a sharp increase over the previous year. Our three-year industrial plan will allow us to grow further, with new models, strategic partnerships, and expansion of production facilities starting in 2026,” concluded Giorgio Mattei, Deputy Chairman of Next Yacht Group. The value of the work carried out has been recognized internationally through prestigious industry awards, including the Premio Eccellenza Italiana awarded in Washington; the recognition of the AB110 as Best Planning Yacht of the Year at the Blue Design Summit; the award to the AB130 as Best Performance Yacht at the Cannes World Yacht Trophies; and the “Oscar of Yachting” assigned to the AB110 as Best Motor Yacht in the World in the 30–40 meter category at the Boat International World Superyacht Awards.
Omaya Yachts New Spain Dealer
Omaya Yachts has announced the appointment of MXG Yachts as its newest dealer in Spain. This new partnership will see MXG Yachts represent the Omaya brand across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, bringing its distinctive power catamarans to one of Europe's most dynamic yachting markets. MXG Yachts is the result of a partnership between Mediterranean Yachts in Mallorca and Pier Zero Yachts in Marbella that began over a decade ago. The companies bring a combined 55 years of industry experience, with an established track record of representing the world's leading luxury shipyards in Spain and successfully introducing new and upcoming brands to the region. The partnership centres on Omaya's debut model, the Omaya 50, which impressed the MXG team with its quality, attention to detail, and intelligent use of space. The power catamaran's extensive exterior areas, both covered and open, make it particularly well-suited to the Spanish climate and the region's family-oriented boating culture. “We have visited the first OMAYA 50 a number of times now and are extremely impressed with the quality of the yacht overall,” notes Alan Gulliver, Director of MXG Yachts. “The finishes and attention to detail are excellent, and the use of space is fantastic. Every element of the design feels thoughtful and practical. The end result is a yacht that we really believe offers much more in terms of quality, features and comfort than other yachts in this size." Kaloyan Radulov, CEO of Omaya Yachts, expressed enthusiasm about the new venture, “Partnering with MXG Yachts marks an exciting step in Omaya’s growth across Europe. The Spanish coastline is one of the world’s most vibrant yachting regions which we believe our catamarans, designed for effortless enjoyment, are perfectly suited to. We look forward to seeing more families and owners experience the Omaya philosophy through this partnership.” The appointment comes at a time of growing demand for catamarans in the Spanish market. MXG Yachts reports a clear trend toward larger yachts with more space, with many buyers increasingly considering catamarans as an alternative to traditional monohulls. The natural stability of catamaran designs offers similar benefits to expensive stabilisation systems, making them an attractive proposition for owners seeking comfort without the additional cost. "We are delighted to represent Omaya’s catamarans in Spain," added fellow director Andy McDougall. "As an exciting new brand, Omaya brings a fresh approach to luxury yachting, combining contemporary design, innovative layouts, and exceptional craftsmanship. With an expanding range of premium catamarans on the horizon, Omaya is poised to make a strong impact in the global market.”

Through Signature, every yacht becomes a reflection of its owner. Considered, distinctive and unmistakably personal. We’re giving customers the freedom to express their individuality while maintaining the craftsmanship and refinement that define Princess.” Signature by Princess was showcased for the first time at boot Düsseldorf, with a dedicated area on the Princess stand, marking a new chapter in bespoke yacht design and owner collaboration.
Sacs Tecnorib Consolidates Growth
At its customary annual conference at Boot Düsseldorf, Sacs Tecnorib spoke of its process of consolidation for the year 2025, consistent with its positioning in the premium segment, characterised by qualitative business growth and a gradual evolution of demand toward boats of larger size and higher value. The shipyard attended the event with its three brands: Pirelli Speedboats, Strider and Rebel, each showcasing the most representative product in its range. Pirelli 47 stole the show at its debut in Germany. Developed on a double-step sports hull designed by Mannerfelt Design Team, this maxi-rib sets a new standard. Its sleek lines, dynamic proportions and functional details speak of power, but also comfort, style and recognisability. The new X460 was presented for the Pirelli Tenders line: sporty soul, premium materials and manoeuvrability guaranteed by the Jet Drive propulsion. Rebel 50G, designed by Christian Grande, dominated the stand in its forward lounge configuration. Alongside it was Strider 13, which, just over a year after its launch, is the best seller in the Strider range thanks to its balance of style, performance and on-board space. During 2025, the company recorded revenues in line with the previous year, reaching nearly 70 million euros with an increase in average sales value per unit of approx. 20%, a figure that clearly reflects the strengthening of the offering toward larger models with higher design content. The 2026 order backlog is also positive, showing an 8% year-on-year increase in December. In a global context characterised by geopolitical and macroeconomic upheavals, with the market posing challenges and uncertainties, the company is consistently pursuing its strategy by strengthening its market position. Alongside the product, Sacs Tecnorib continues to invest in building an increasingly structured brand ecosystem, in which the relationship with owners and customers is also developed through dedicated experiences, exclusive events and initiatives designed to strengthen the sense of belonging to the Sacs Tecnorib world. The gradual strengthening of partnerships with internationally prestigious brands such as Kiton, Mansory and Ethimo, the expression of a shared vision based on research, quality and attention to detail, should be seen in this context. Partnerships representing not only a natural extension of the company's positioning, but also an additional element of brand credibility and attractiveness in related areas in terms of values and target.

Saxdor Founder and Chief Designer Wins Judges Special Award
Sakari Mattila, founder and chief designer of Saxdor Yachts, has been honored with the prestigious Judges’ Special Award at the Motor Boat Awards 2026, organized annually by Motor Boat & Yachting magazine. The award was presented during a gala ceremony in Düsseldorf on 20 January, recognizing Mattila’s exceptional vision and contribution to the motorboat industry over a remarkable 48-year career. Praised by the jury for his distinctive understanding of what boat buyers truly want, an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit, and a visionary ability to identify and set new trends for the industry, Mattila has been behind many of the most innovative boat brands in recent years. After an early entrepreneurial career in other sectors, Mattila turned fully toward his passion for design and boating, founding Aquador in 1994, Paragon in 2004, co-founding XO Boats in 2008 and Axopar in 2012. After leaving Axopar in 2018, he went on to build his most recent venture, Saxdor Yachts, from the ground up, further cementing his reputation as one of the industry’s most influential designers and innovators. Founded in 2019, Saxdor quickly gained acclaim for its bold design, exceptional drivability, and accessibility. Since then, the brand has expanded rapidly across international markets and today is recognised as Europe’s fastest-growing motorboat brand, reaching a year-on-year revenue growth of +65% from €109 million in 2024 to over €180 million in 2025. Most recently, the new flagship, Saxdor 460 GTC, has been unveiled at boot Düsseldorf 2026, where it has already attracted significant attention. The Judges’ Special Award was accepted on Mattila’s behalf by Erna Rusi, CEO of Saxdor Yachts, who paid tribute to his relentless drive and uncompromising standards: “We are incredibly proud to see Sakari and his legacy honored with this award. He is a true force of nature, a visionary designer with an unmatched work ethic and an uncompromising eye for detail. Sakari is never satisfied with ‘good enough’: I’ve seen him halt a product just before launch and starting again from scratch to make it right. That relentless drive, passion, and belief in innovation define not only him, but everything Saxdor stands for. And he is far from finished – there is much more to come.” Motor Boat & Yachting’s Judges’ Special Award recognises individuals who have made an outstanding and lasting impact on the motorboat industry. For Saxdor Yachts and the wider marine industry, the award underscores Sakari Mattila’s enduring influence, creative vision, and continued drive to redefine modern motorboating.

Tiara 2025 Year of Record
Tiara Yachts, a family-owned manufacturer of American-made luxury watercrafts, proudly reflects on an exceptional year defined by manufacturing milestones, leadership evolution and industry innovation. The company’s momentum in 2025 was propelled by a rapid expansion of its fleet; the debuts of three new models in a single model year set Tiara apart in the industry. The year began with the launch of the 56 LS at the Miami International Boat Show. The 56 LS is the largest and most ambitious outboard-powered vessel in the company’s history and was recognized by Boating Industry as a “2025 Top Product.” This flagship release was followed by the launch of the sister model 39 LS and the 39 LE. The 39 LS launched in June and debuted at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October. The 39 LE launched in September and made its formal debut this month at the Vinoy St. Petersburg. "This year’s record-breaking product cadence has established Tiara Yachts as a true pacesetter for the industry, and we’re eager to maintain that pace,” said Tom Slikkers, CEO of Tiara Yachts. "As we look toward 2026 with an exceptional team onboard, we remain committed to the innovative spirit that has defined our family-owned company for generations." Beyond the shipyard, Tiara Yachts focused on its workforce through strategic leadership appointments and the celebration of significant retirements. Ryan Schmidt joined the team last March in the newly created role of Vice President of Customer Experience, a position designed to elevate the brand’s service standards. “Tiara has long had a reputation for quality, and my goal is to ensure our ownership experience is just as refined as the boats themselves,” said Schmidt. "My team and I are doubling down on our promise to provide a level of personal, attentive service that sets the standard in the luxury marine industry." The leadership team also welcomed Mike Porreca as Director of Sales. He succeeds Sue Kane, who retired following 41 years of service. Other milestone retirements include HR Training Specialist Carrie Murphy (40.5 years), Composite Technician Estella Livingston (40 years) and Lead Buyer Ken DePas (44 years), the company’s longest-tenured team member outside of the Slikkers family. During a year-long sabbatical, Director of Design Andrew Bartlett completed the Great Loop in 2025, providing the company with invaluable real-world insight on long-range cruising. His journey, chronicled in Yachting Magazine, provided critical data on the feasibility of dayboats operating without generators, aligning with the company’s future product explorations. Since his return, Bartlett has transitioned to the Sales team as its new Customer Experience Analyst. Innovation remained a central theme throughout 2025. Tiara Yachts was recognized by Trade Only Today in its inaugural EPIC Awards as a winner in the Manufacturing Process/Supply Chain category. The recognition highlighted Tiara’s on-site 3D printing department and its transition to 100% closed composite molding, among other unique innovations. Additionally, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) honored Tiara with the Marine Industry Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) award in the Fiberglass Outboard Boats category for the 17th consecutive year. Other honors included the Southern Boating Readers' Choice Awards, where Tiara models were deemed "Favorite Express Cruiser" for the 6th consecutive year. Individual recognition was given to Controller Ashley Gist in the Boating Industry “Women Making Waves” awards for her instrumental role in strengthening Tiara’s financial integrity. In 2025, Tiara Yachts prioritized community impact, recognizing the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) Workforce Transition Program crew as "Employee(s) of the Month" in April. This partnership began six years ago with the mission of seeing potential before limitations. It provides young adults with developmental challenges the opportunity to work in the marine manufacturing trades. The OAISD crew was honored this year for bringing energy, purpose and hard work to the manufacturing environment. As a leader in the American-made boating industry, Tiara Yachts enters 2026 with plans for continued product launches and advancements in manufacturing excellence. To keep up with Tiara Yachts in the year to come, visit tiarayachts.com, and be sure to visit the Tiara fleet on display at the Miami International Boat Show, February 11-15, at within the Miami Beach Yacht Collection at Collins Avenue.

Silver Seas Yachts has been a long-standing, top-tier dealer for Tiara Yachts across multiple locations in California, including San Diego, Newport Beach and Sausalito. Family-owned and operated since 1978, Boats Unlimited has locations in New Bern and Wilmington, North Carolina, offering direct access to the Atlantic Ocean, rivers, sounds and other waterways. The dealer prides itself on the diversity of boats it carries, as well as a first-class service department. “Boats Unlimited has been a cornerstone of the North Carolina boating community for decades; its commitment to top-quality customer care and our mutual foundation as family-owned businesses made our partnership decision an easy one,” said Mike Porreca, Director of Sales at Tiara Yachts. “North Carolina’s thousands of freshwater lakes and rivers, brackish sounds and coastal waterways are host to a wide variety of boats, and we are eager to showcase our models through a dealer with deep expertise and community roots.” Recreational boating and associated activities are a significant driver of tourism and economic growth in North Carolina, generating around $9 billion annually and ranking the state sixth nationally in terms of recreational boating’s economic impact. As of 2022, close to 350,000 boats were registered in the state across all vessel types, with sportfishing, scuba diving and cruising among the most popular aquatic activities. “Boats Unlimited is proud to announce our partnership with Tiara Yachts starting in 2026,” said Chris Pope, Owner and Manager of Boats Unlimited. “Tiara’s superior quality, craftsmanship, and diverse model lineup bring an exciting new offering of larger luxury yachts to North Carolina boaters. We are thrilled to align with such a strong and respected brand and look forward to supporting our customers as they take to the water in these exceptional vessels. Tiara Yachts has a strong dealer network consisting of 21 domestic dealers and nine international dealers, offering the Tiara Yachts lineup of more than a dozen luxury yachts at multiple locations. 2025 was a banner year for Tiara Yachts; the company launched three new models, offering buyers a wide range of yachts to suit the diverse range of activities and lifestyles available in North Carolina.
Viking's Pat Healey Marlin's Person of the Year
We are proud to announce that Pat Healey has been named Marlin magazine’s inaugural Person of the Year. “A household name in the big-game fishing industry who hardly needs an introduction, Pat continues to produce the preeminent sport-fishing boat on the market at Viking, while its Valhalla line has elevated the center-console arena to a new level,” said their announcement. “Beyond running the most successful boatbuilding company in the big-game space, Pat is a passionate angler and leader of the highly competitive Viking Demo Team.” Rounding out his credentials, Marlin acknowledged that Pat spearheaded the fight against what was arguably the greatest threat our sport has faced in decades: NOAA’s proposed vessel speed restrictions. “It’s not hyperbole to say that without Pat’s leadership, NOAA’s vessel speed rule might be law today. Thanks to his resolve, a dangerous regulation was halted, an industry was galvanized, and a practical, science-based solution was set in motion.” Marlin created this honor to recognize an individual whose work has made a clear, measurable impact on the sport, whether through angling achievement, product innovation, advocacy, conservation or some artful combination of all the above. “It’s not just about being visible; it’s about moving the sport forward in a meaningful way,” Marlin stated. This isn’t just a magazine; it’s a keepsake and year-round reference. Click here to watch an in-depth podcast with Pat and Marlin’s Editor-in-Chief Jack Vitek.
Viking In The Bite Captain of the Year
He’s done it again. Captain Chase Lake has been named the InTheBite Gulf Coast Captain of the Year – for the third time. At the helm of the Krake family’s Viking 72 Team Supreme, Chase delivered four wins and a pair of 3rd Place finishes across their six-tournament season, securing his three-peat honors. A victory in the Louisiana Gulf Coast Billfish Classic set the tone early. “We prefished and stumbled on an oil rig no one seemed to be fishing, our ‘secret rig’ in the Gulf off Louisiana,” Chase says. “Having it to ourselves was a big edge, especially with a slow bite east of the river. We camped there and stacked releases. Fishing alone matters.” Team Supreme’s roster this season included owner-anglers Allen Krake, his wife Lisa and their sons Allen Krake Jr. and Alex Krake – the latter also serving as sonar operator – along with mates Hunter “GAM” Smith, Seth “Cray/Crayola” Brennan and James “Tuesday” Arnold. Looking ahead, the team’s north star is clear: Put in the time, keep the mechanics sharp and chase a 100-blue season. “It’s doable,” Chase says. “First to seven still usually wins, but we’re always hunting eight, nine and 10.”
Viking at Stuart Light Tackle Tournament
Alan Sadler’s Viking 62 Intents won the 72nd annual Stuart Light Tackle Sailfish Tournament with eight releases. Anglers Alan, Jake Flynn, Michelle Keeney and Jason Votzi angled the sails, with Jason also weighing the Heaviest Mahi and earning Top Angler honors. Rhett Bailey was named Top Captain. Jaclyn Fields, fishing on the Viking 64 Inconclusive (Oil Slick), weighed the Heaviest Wahoo.
