Sea Ray Cruiser Goes Ablaze in Coomera River

A not attended eight meter Sea Ray sport cruiser went ablaze while berthed on its pontoon berth in the Coomera River, South East region of Queensland, Australia, just before 10:30 morning time of Wednesday fourth December.  Emergency services quickly attended the fire scene as the boat was also very close to nearby residencies, as the huge plum of black smoke rose and made residing people scramble the phone for help.  Fire department responded quickly to the fire, which also destroyed a small rib tender.  The owner of the boat who was at his work place during the fire, was notified and rushed to the scene to find his boat semi sunk and destroyed.  The police are investigating the fire, though they say it looks to be unsuspicious.
The Sea Ray in this fire is a third series 270 Sundancer as produced from 1994 to 1997.  The 270 Sundancer came out as a replacement to the previous second series model with the same name, and was again replaced by the mark four Sea Ray 270 Sundancer.
