New Model: Fjord 39 XL

Fjord debuts the 39 XL, a new entry level in its six model walk-around day cruiser line and a replacement to the 38 after four years in production.  Fair to say Fjord is the evolutionist of the modern European walk-around day cruiser which since the 40 Open appeared in 2008 has made good fortunes for the German owned Scandinavian name.  The new Fjord 39 XL is a bit wider and longer to its predecessor, with this extra dimensions giving space benefits in all areas; aft deck, helm station, and a more spacious lower cabin deck.  For example in the aft deck the 39 XL now offers a fixed sun-pad followed by opposite settees looking dinette which can sit up to eight persons.  The extra beam of the 39 XL also give an option for a three settee helm station from the standard two seats, with the hard top now also being longer and wider extending nearly up to the ship side rather then in the structure of the windshield.   Down below the Fjord 39 XL offers an open layout with double berth forward, furniture unit offering fridge and freezer plus storage spaces to port side on entry, and shower head to starboard which now also features an enclosed shower-stall.  The Fjord 39 XL is standard powered by twin Volvo 320hp with stern drives propulsion, with engine upgrades going up to 440hp and 45 knots speeds, with an option for IPS also being possible from the larger engines.  The same model is also offered in the 39 XP outboard version powered by twin Mercury 400hp petrol gas engines.
