Formula Boat Destroyed by Fire in Lake St. Clair

An eleven meter Formula power cruiser with one person aboard went ablaze and was eventually wrecked in Lake St. Clair on the afternoon of Tuesday 27th August.  The boater had just collected the power boat from his mechanic, when the alarms went off.  Checking the engine room revealed smoking coming out, with the boater putting on his life jacket and then calling a may day for help, as he was collected by a nearby boater in a Donzi powerboat.  Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division came to the assistance as they put the blaze off in about thirty minutes, with the cause of the fire now being under investigation.
The boat in this fire is a Formula 400 Super Sport as designed by John Adams and produced from 1999 up to 2019, with a light update coming in 2007 featuring a new radar arch design and T-Top option..  The 400 Super Sport came out as a replacement to the 419 Fastech and was replaced by the 400 Super Sport Crossover with outboard power.
