An eight meter sport cruiser titled m/y Fourth Coast with two passengers aboard was saved from a fire near 31st Harbour Breakwall, Chicago, on Lake Michigan on the early afternoon of Thursday sixth June 2024. Chicago Police Department Marine Unit and Chicago Fire Department intervened to the fire saving and removing the two boaters from the boat first and then successfully controlling the fire. No one was injured in the fire, with the investigation saying it came from an electrical fault. Following this the sport cruiser was taken to a slip in a marina nearby for repairs.
The sport cruiser in this fire is a Rinker 260 Fiesta Vee as produced from 1996 to 1999. The 260 Fiesta Vee came out as a replacement to the 265 Fiesta Vee, and was replaced by the Rinker Fiesta Vee 270.
