A classic fourteen meter Rybovich sportfish cruiser titled Adah-k ended aground in Montauk to the East of Long Island, New York, on the evening of Friday 21 July 2023. No one was injured in the accident, according to reports the captain of the yacht lost consciousness during navigation with the convertible cruiser ending aground. The sportfish was reported to be running a charter during the accident, which also included a sunset cruise. The boat was towed to Liberty Marine for repairs and is reported to have ripped the keel from the bottom, tore off a rudder, and did damaged both propellers.
The sportfish cruiser in this accident is a custom build 1960 John Rybovich and Sons 48 foot hull number 45. Originally built for Philip C. Barney she will be launched as Wallaby, and will be renamed seven times until the current Adah-K.
