A 26 meter Ferretti super yacht titled m/y Gemini collided into the Eceabat Marina breakwater in Canakkale, near the Dardanelles straits in Turkey on the morning of Thursday March 30. The captain reported the accident to the Canakkale Straight Ship Services Directorate, with the yacht reportedly traveling from Greece to Turkey at the time of the accident. According to the photos circulating online the Ferretti yacht reported cosmetic damage to its bow starboard side, with some hull damage below waterline. Causes of the accident are not reported.
M/y Gemini is a Ferretti 870 from 2014 as designed by Zuccon and produced from 2012 to 2016 in eleven units. A replacement to the Ferretti 880, the 870 was based on the 830 extended in length in all area, and was then replaced by the 850 in the fall of 2016.
