A sportfish yacht of eighteen meters in length titled m/y Next Chapter went ablaze as she was berthed at the Exuma Yacht Club, George Town, in the Bahamas on the afternoon of Tuesday tenth January 2023. The yacht was unattended at the time of the fire, as the owner and his three guests went for a swim with the yachts tender. The yacht was towed away by the marina staff in order to avoid burning other vessels and marina infrastructure and was left to burn outside the yacht club. The yacht and the four boaters cruised from Stuart, Florida and was at Exuma, Bahamas for a vacation. The cause of the fire is not reported.
M/y Next Chapter is a Mickelson 60 Sportfisher Flybridge as designed by Tom Fexas and produced in the nineties. Mickelson was founded by Dick Peterson and Pat Sullivan debuting in 1987 with a 48 model as designed by Tom Fexas.
