An eleven meter flybridge cruiser was wrecked by fire at Pope Island Marina in New Bedford, Massachusetts with the blaze starting at 20:30 of Saturday thirty January 2021. The boat was cut from its moorings by two man, as New Bedford Fire Department responded to the blaze with three vessels controlling the fire in thirty minutes. New Bedford Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police, Fairhaven Harbormaster, and the Rapid Intervention Team all responded to the fire. This last was brought as a fire man was reported falling in the icy water. The boat was ultimately wrecked, with the cause of the fire being under investigation.
The boat in this fire is a second generation Silverton 37 Convertible as produced from 1990 to 2000. The second generation 37 Convertible was a replacement to the first generation 37 Convertible, and was replaced by the Silverton 38 Convertible.
